The movie has a bunch of great dance numbers. Yeah, Kevin can dance, though he didn't do the gymnastics moves. (They got a pro for that.) The finale prom dance number is KILLER. Not many movies capture the joy of movement the way that one does.
I almost had a heart attack when I was 14 because of this movie... That CHICKEN SCENE!!!!
I just looked it up, he actually had 4 doubles for the warehouse scene: a stunt double, a dance double, and 2 gymnastics doubles. The latter makes a lot of sense. The flips on the floor was probably 1 of the gymnasts and the other probably did the bar, since they are different gymnastic disciplines. Props to the editor on splicing all of that together and getting it to match the song. Props to everyone really.
Agreed. One of my all time favorite movies. Also had a childhood crush on SJP
I went to see this in the theatre based on the strength of the song and the trailer. Frankly, without Kenny Loggins, I don't think anyone would be talking about Footloose today.
Kenny loggins had a great record for making bangers for movie soundtracks. Danger zone for Top gun. Im alright for Caddy shack. Finally Footlose from well the footlose movie.
Don't forget "Meet Me Halfway" from "Over The Top". You can forget the movie, but the song is worth remembering.
And Return to Pooh Corner.
Kenny Loggins was the king of the movie soundtracks in the 80's.
"Hey, Hey! What's this I see? I thought this was a party. LET'S DANCE!"
This song is iconic in "Footloose" (1984)
🎥💃🏻🕺🏼
It was iconic to my youth.
Hot Kevin Bacon fun movie!! Need to see the video for this song where it’s the final dancing and the whole town all the kids have a prom and they’re all dancing it is so great!!
The dancing was a scene from the movie. Movie was super popular and song was too. The premise of the movie was a big city boy moves to a small country town where dancing and music is outlawed. He is 'rebelling'' by dancing his anger out in the old abandoned warehouse. So, this was a pivotal and emotionally charged scene. And Kevin Bacon was a heart throb at the time Not super common to have all dancing in a video but dancing in movies was popular for a spell with Grease, then Saturday Night Fever that lead to Staying Alive. Then the series Fame was a huge hit (kinda like an inner city High School Musical of it's day). Then Flashdance. So, we had John Travolta dancing his way through the 80s, so it was not that odd to see your favorite actor could dance too. Dirty Dancing showed off Patrick Swayze as a primo dancer. Kevin Bacon got his dancing chops with this movie "Footloose". He still may do a small dance scene in movies as a nod to the past. Like Travolta dancing as Vincent Vega in Pulp Fiction. It's almost expected of him. lol. Sorry for rambling. lol.
Dancing and music forbidden, sounds like a red state in 2022.
@@guyfromthe80s92 come on.. don't be that way. I'm conservative and I love dance.. love freedom.. don't bash.
@@creinicke1000 Banning books and abortion, banning dance wont be far behind. Sort yourself out.
@@guyfromthe80s92 Actually, it had less to do with politics and more about a shared trauma the town had when a car load of the seniors from their high school, went out to a bar and went off a bridge on the way back, killing everyone including son of Preacher, played by John Lithgow. The town was in such pain and shock their knee jerk reaction was this banning of sinful ways. They sorted it out in the end. Plus, dance movies made money then, so anything to do with dancing.....
The movie is about a town in the Midwest where it's very Christian fundamentalist and it was a sin to dance. Kevin Bacon's character came along and railed against the church.
And his character proved, with using the Bible, that it is grand for people to dance in joy.
the town this movie is loosely based on is a small town here in Oklahoma
John Lithgow (3rd Rock from the Sun) played the conservative Pastor in the movie. He also was in the movie Shrek.
We've all been there. High School pressure, the weight of the world on our shoulders. You just have to find an abandoned barn somewhere and dance it all out.
The soundtrack to this movie is so great. You should really react to the whole movie
Well, on my planet, we have a legend about people like you. It's called Footloose. And in it, a great hero, named Kevin Bacon, teaches an entire city full of people with sticks up their butts that, dancing, well, is the greatest thing there is.
Who put the sticks up their butts?....
We're just like KEVIN BACON!!!
🤣🤣🤣♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
The song was written for a movie of the same name and it starred Kevin Bacon. The musical was based on the movie
Guys you need to watch this movie, it’s such a classic. One of my all time favorite films, that gave birth to one of my favorite songs. highly recommend it. 😄
My mom was all about Kenny Loggins back in the day. An 80s songwriter with a very classic 50s/60s rock and r&b sound under the slicker modern production.
Always had the old school rockabilly style to his music. Very good music.
Loggins And Messina: "Your Momma Can't Dance".
The part where you see him dancing he’s actually blowing off steam because he’s angry and the song he’s actually dancing to is a different song in the movie the footloose song is actually the song they play in the final part of the movie where all the kids are at a prom and they’re dancing to footloose!!!
Always loved that dance scene, especially the kid that was “poppin” lol
You guys know Kenny Loggins a bit from USA For Africa's "We Are The World", he sang right after Bruce "The Boss" Springsteen and Steve "the Voice" Perry.
Yes! Kevin Bacon was younger in Footloose (1984). He was also in the first Friday the 13th movie(1980) 😀
I concur. We were all younger in 1984 than we are now.
@@winstonsmith8441 I wasn't.
And he was even younger in Animal House
Scenes from the Movie Footloose. Very different than the fatboy slim video, where they just heard that Christopher Walkin used to be one hell of a tap dancer, and got him for the shoot LOL.
The film was about a Chicago kid who moves to a small town in Texas called Beaumont, and he finds that the town has outlawed dancing, rock music, and is very much under a fundamentalist Christian town council. With the help of the preacher's daughter, he works to change things. Kevin Bacon on plays the kid and he did almost all of his own dancing, but not the gymnastics which were done by Olympic Gold Medal winner Mitch Gaylord. The cast had Sarah Jessica Parker, John Lithgow, Chris Penn, and Dianne Wiest. There was a remake of the movie, as well as a Broadway musical. This song was also covered by Blake Shelton for the remake.
It takes place in Bomont Utah, not Beaumont Texas. Beaumont is a lot larger (>100K people). Now mind you, there are plenty of small towns in that part of Texas with a lot of baptists (dancing was banned at Baylor University when I was growing up), but not grain farming like the movie shows.
@@mlilback I always thought it was Texas. Okay. Thanks!
This is a band I considered was for preppy kids when this first came out. Instead we listened to Punk , Metal, and various New Wave bands.
Wife here..As a Gen xer this movie was a big part of our pop culture!!..Will forever picture Kevin Bacon dancing when I hear this eighties jem!!! Great Reaction as always!!!
It's the best when you are in the club. This song comes on and everyone starts line dancing. That is a great vibe, and lots of fun
Kevin Bacon is also a musician with his brother, they go by The Bacon Brothers. I saw them at the Philadelphia Folk Festival like 20 years ago.
Classic! Great movie, great soundtrack!!! Definitely recommend watching
Kevin can dance and sing.
OMG. They don’t realize this is a movie 🤣🤣🤣😜😜😜
Footloose is such a great movie!! You two should watch it!!
Great movie and yea Kevin Bacon
Great movie, Outstanding sound track. ✌️😎
Brad & Lex, you'' love his "Danger Zone" and "Whenever I Call You 'Friend'" (with Stevie Nicks)!!
From the footloose musical?? Brad says......OOOOOOOHHHH OK!! Blahhhhh hahaha!!! Y'all crack me up!!!!!!!!
It was a movie in 1985 with Kevin Bacon he also did the original Friday the 13th and he was in Animal house in 1978.
This is from the movie, which is on my all-time favorites. This song opens the movie, and as the credits roll, a montage of people dancing in many different types of shoes plays on screen. It's such a perfect representation of the the time. Such positive energy. You should really watch the movie. The original with Kevin Bacon and Lori Singer. Not the remake with Julianne Hough. I like her, but the original was far better.
Yes! The original only, please-
80's is THE BEST decade of whole music EVER !!!!!!!!!!!
Footloose is a movie - well worth checking out! The theatre show followed i think
Lex is such a dork....never change!
one of the catchiest songs ever! ♥
This whole soundtrack! It's a banger. Deniece Williams, ""Let's hear it for the boy." Great singer.
Kenny loggings this is it, magical
Yeah this is literally the movie that made Kevin Bacon a household name and famous in the 80's.
LOVE this song !!! LOL. My toes started tapping, immediately !!! LOL. I also LOVE the movie !!! Never get tired of this song or the film !!! LOL.
You're getting closer. I'm talking Loggins and Messina Angry Eyes. Got your vocal harmonies, Sax, flute, nasty bass, check it out!
Remember Brad and Lex There's A Game called 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon,oh by the way,he did a commercial.
Top Gun- Danger Zone another great Kenny Logggins soundtrack tune.
Loggins in 80's was huge with this and Danger Zone. Mr Soundtrack
Yes that is a young Kevin Bacon from the movie Footloose.
I know someone across the galaxy who loves Footloose.
This is from the soundtrack to the movie Footloose. The dancing in the video is clips from the movie.
I can never be still while listening to this song. Just can't resist! Brad is completely still though lmao
Lex and Footloose. Life complete.
Lolll Footloose musical, this is from the film!! Massive film in the mid 80s, another one for you guys to watch.
Top gun soundtrack next. Kenny loggins
Six degrees of kevin bacon 🤘❤️. Fine actor of our time
Kenny was recently on Daryl's House. He's still got it.
Yes, that was Kevin Bacon and that whole scene was from the 1984 movie "Footloose". Kevin Bacon actually had stunt doubles during this scene as he wasn't a professional dancer or gymnast. The stage musical was based off of this film and in 2011, there was a musical remake of this film. I've seen this film as a kid and prefer it over the remake.
Brad and Lex are the gold standard for reaction videos. simple to prove.
Brad- you disappointed me by not knowing who Kevin Bacon is lol. One of the most famous actors of all time. In countless cult classics. Tremors being one.
He redid the dance he did in the movie on Saturday Night Live maybe? He CAN STILL do the moves now! He is pretty fantastic!
Such a fan of the both of you! If you start reacting to movies also you have a guaranteed Patron.
Footloose is my all-time favorite movie.
80s showed everyone it was ok to dance again.
Quite a few hits came from this soundtrack! This song set to the prom dance is iconic!
Man this song's brings back a lot of memories
Great 80's movie.
Lex, yes it is the Kevin Bacon movie.
Another great song for a movie that is iconic. The 80's had so many awesome movies and sound tracks.
Lex i LOVE your energy !! you were so vibing with this song!!! :)
Thanks for your continuous love and support Maria ❤❤
For how long have you been a fan of mine Maria??
@@TomCruise60081 long enough to know you're not him. Have a nice day .
You should do Kenny Loggins - Danger Zone, in honor of Top Gun, since the new Top Gun movie comes out soon.
You guys have to record a reaction to the original movie... priceless
There 2 movies called Footloose. Kevin Bacon is in the first release and its really good. The singer Kenny Loggins made a big hit with this in the 1980s. I believe Kenny was in the video "We are the World".
Great reaction !! ❤️🌸
I am here because I watched the movie for the first time in my life and I am almost 60 years old.
Yes that is a young Kevin Bacon, the movie really kick started his career
Ahhh , Footloose is probably the official anthem of the 80’s. Actually , I think it was a law that every movie that came out in the 80’s had a Kenny Loggings song in it ! 🤷🏻♂️😂✌🏼❤️
I would say Breakfast Club is the anthem movie of the 80s for the youth. But Footloose would be in the top 5 for sure. And yes I agree with the Kenny Loggins musing.
This song is still such a Banger! ❤️
What?? Why did you cut it off without playing the whole song??🤨🤨 It's such a killer song, like all of Kenny's songs and Brad acted like he just wasn't into it. To each his own I guess. 😊😊
there's this little thing you might not know about called copyright
@@agnash99 I just watched 4 other reactors react to the whole video, so maybe someone is overly concerned about "Copyright". Yes I've heard of it.
Lex is infectious, she makes me smile.
That is Kevin Bacon. His first movie was ANIMAL HOUSE in 1977, where he plays a snarky college kid. Here (1984) 7 years later, he plays a high school kid.....hmmmmm
Yeah Kevin B was pretty young there, that movie came out in '84 he was also in the original Friday the 13th movie '80 Made a guest appearance in Planes trains and automobiles '88
Lex is so often a shining ball of joy (^,^) Keep up the awesomeness!
The movie, Footloose, with Kevin Bacon, is awesome. There is a lot of different dance numbers.
Loggins and Messina were great, Angry Eyes, Danny’s Song, Your Mama Don’t Dance. Loggins suddenly was doing movie soundtrack songs Footloose, Top Gun. I wonder what happened to the duet???
The Kevin Bacon "Footloose" is a must see...and an AMAZING soundtrack!
I grew up in the 80's with 2 older sisters and saw Grease 100 times but I never saw Footloose or Flashdance (which has the famous dancer/water bucket scene)
A fun reaction would be Daryl's House, where many musicians have gone to Daryl Hall's (of Hall and Oates) house to play. One episode has Kenny playing Footloose.
And they are both in their 60's
Too bad the video cut off about a minute short...lost the final chorus and great ending :(
Got to watch the movie Footloose. Several other hit songs in it.
This is a clip from the movie ''Footloose'' starring Kevin Bacon. And yes Lex he sings and plays in a band and is a guitartist as well! Great reaction y'all!
The guy here seems v concerned Theodore the entire reaction. Lol 😂😂😂
Thanks for your continuous love and support Angela ❤❤
For how long have you been a fan of mine Angela??
@Kenny Loggins I watched Footloose as the original in movie houses my senior year of high school in 1984. I attended your performance in Provo, Utah, at Stradium of Fire for the 4th of July in the 90s. I listened to your 70s and 80s hits, climbing the charts on kasey Kassim's top 40 countdown. I have LOVED your music and been a fan for over forty years.
If this is truly you, Kenny, I just want to thank you for putting your heart into your songs 🎵 ❤️. God Bless

80S FOREVER
I was trying to put my finger on why I love 80's music the other day even cheesy numbers like this, and I think its because the 80's was more about fun, confidence, and positivity.
As opposed to music today which seems to be about negativity, nihilism and anxiety. I think its a reflection of the times.
I'm generalising obviously and caveat it with "not all music" for the benefit of the pedantic.
That's not Kenny Loggins dancing, that's a young Kevin Bacon, from the movie. The movie came before the musical. Kenny Loggins also did "I'm Alright", the theme song for the movie "Caddyshack". And before that, he was part of Loggins & Messina, with Jim Messina. Not sure if y'all have reacted to any of their songs. Some of their bigger hits were "Your Mama Don't Dance", "Angry Eyes", "House at Pooh Corner", "Danny's Song", "A Love Song" and "Vahevala".
This was the MOVIE : FOOTLOOSE.
The movie is a classic :-)
Don't know that I would describe the original movie as a musical. The remake is more of a musical. But the video is from a scene where Kevin's character is blowing off steam and the song he actually dances to is called Never by Moving Pictures
if i'm not mistaken, this guy was the kid in the Twisted Sister video 'I wanna rock'!
Stanley: "Find some Kenny Loggins."
Jim: "Loggins and Messina..."
Stanley: "Did I say Messina!"
*convertible peels out*
Yes, you guys need to watch the ORIGINAL movie
The best part is the dance segment at the end of the movie. Footloose goes better then..
That is Kevin Bacon but most of the dancing was a double.
I remember seeing this movie because my girl wanted to see it so bad and sitting there cringing for 2 hours waiting for it to end.
The music video fits with the movie.
