This is fantastic, unique content. Just what I needed. I bought the Mazda as I thought I saw it dominant on other YT vids so I wish I had your fine work to guide me. Thank you bro, chur

Hi. Great content! Finally someone who did this (Gr.4 and Gr.3!). I used to do that for myself in GTSport to pick up the best manufacturer for me. Some lilttle suggestions: I would use Fuji as reference track (because you test everything: top speed, handling, hard breaking) and to measure tyre wear measurement I suggest you to set TWx10 and do 4/5 laps for each car. Keep up with this excellent content! Thanks!!!

Thank you! I chose deep forest for this test mainly because the biggest/most difficult gr4 race is the human comedy 1 hour of deep forest so I thought this would be helpful for people who want to find a good car for that race. And for tire wear, that is basically my plan so far, it might take a while but it shouldnt be too difficult :) thanks again!

Fuji is a horrible test track because unless you individually compare the sectors, it will just favour top speed cars

    • @antoniodrivegym6858
      @antoniodrivegym6858 2 года назад

@@AKK5I in time trial (with no fuel and fresh tyres) you are probably right. But with fuel and heavy tyre wear (x10), in sector 3 you immediately understand wich car is good or not. Plus, if you are racing in a manifacturer season, you need to know which car has top speed and whch eats its tyres and fuel. However also Interlagos and Barcellona are good test track😉

Not surprised with the Alfa and WRX at the top of the list. They're frequently seen topping qualifying at Gr. 4 BoP online races as well as being used mostly by players of higher DRs. Currently the meta cars of Gr. 4.
The GT-R was surprising as I expected it to have better lap times due to its straight-line speed, while also being seen at the top qualifying times.
I personally use the V8 Vantage and recently, the Swift. Both of your descriptions for the cars are spot-on! The Swift is light and nimble even though loses on top-end versus most Gr. 4 cars, and the V8 Vantage is beginner-friendly for an FR car. Likewise, I'd want something of a challenge when racing instead of going straight for the meta cars. I think it has the advantage of being able to do unpredictable racing lines (especially with the FF Swift, based on experience) whenever battling closely for positions compared to having same cars on the grid (I always see Alfas, WRXs, and GT-Rs filling most races).
Lastly, I completely agree with your tip. It's worth giving every car a shot and see where you're comfortable with regardless of the performance. I see people getting stuck with meta cars but can't extract the most out of them. e.g. I love the Alfa a lot but there are times I'm having a hard time with it.

Great video....but tyre wear is equally important as fuel efficiency....drivetrain is everything.....FR cars are the best cars in that aspect...followed by the MRs and then 4WDs and last the FFs. So......when you do test tyre wear you will see for yourself. But again...great video ....kudos for the time you have put into it....

A stumbled across the channel and have to say this is a great video.
Currently I do battle with the 155 in the daily bop races for GR.4 but I’m trying to expand the garage to collect most of them.
Hopefully one day the balancing will be sorted as right now the daily races are dominated by the WRX, 155 and the GTR (shock of horrors awd)

My insider tip for this mission if you don't have any problems shifting gears manually: The Aston Martin DP-100. The secret with this car is to shift gears early, then this car pulls up nicely and the handling is also very clean. I won the race with a 1 lap advantage with this car.

The addition of the Upshift RPM to the car stats is a great idea, and it should help even more with understanding each car.
As for future tracks, using a real-life track such as Watkins Glen or Suzuka would make for interesting comparisons. Once again, thanks kindly for your hard work!

But looking at all the power graphs, the torque curve drops away the higher your rev, so to me it doesnt make too much sense. It's not so much of a worry if fuel is disabled but you'll burn much more fuel if you rev higher if fuel is enabled

Ah yes I forgot that bit. I'd probably personally choose either the citroen gt or maybe the megane gr4/Suzuki swift. Citroen because it's a bit more lively to drive than the front engine cars and its fast. The megane/swift because of their unique front engine driving style which I quite enjoyed. The FR cars are mostly bland and stable which isnt necessarily a bad thing but just not as engaging as the others I mentioned.

Yes, I don't really think your results are accurate. We had a league race at Deep forest on Saturday. 2 Hr endurance race. The Silvia killed the Alfa! The alfa severely lacks top speed. I was running high 33's low 34's consistently with the Silvia with 4x tyre degradation on softs. Averaging high 34's on mediums and easily mid 35s on hards. There were many different makes in the race and the only car that could run with the Silvia was the WRX and it faded later as it destroys its front tyres.
