One little tip if you're going to use one of these MR cars in a non-BoP race is to set the LSD braking sensitivity to 60 (max). Combined with setting the brake bias to the front, this will greatly help to control the car and avoid snap oversteer on heavy braking situations and makes trail braking much easier. Also, the heavier rear of these MR cars gives them superior traction control, and using TCS 0 is much more manageable on them when compared to a FR car, making them the potentially fastest Gr.3 cars despite being tricky to drive.
High value in GT means differential works more, meaning the wheels turn at different values, which in rear means more understeer. R8 requires pretty high braking LSD value to stop it from lift off oversteer.
A lot of the MR cars can be a challenge to drive even for more experienced racers. Although I find the RCZ to be pretty stable and easy to handle for the most part.
True that, the RCZ is much more planted and less torquey than most the others, and can really be abused. Just have to ward off understeer. I do love the finicky handling of most MR cars though, the rotation can definitely be exploited.
Lately I’ve been having a lot of fun with the Gr.3 Huracan, and even getting really good lap times. I can keep up with the pack and even overtake in Sport mode now.
Turn down the differential to 5-8-8, and put a little ballast in the front to control the snap steering. This will take some trial and error experimenting to find the setup you like.
They could be tamed with tunes, but Unleashed is talking about the BOP-ed situations and some people may just buy an MR Gr.3 machine and put it on the track right away thinking that it would be similar to the FR Gr.3s, however the lift oversteer and throttle control is totally different, even if you've loosen the diffs they're still need to be driven with respect.
Put weight position on unstable cars like the R8 or Gt by Citroen to the front then they are very stable. Beside that if you want a stable MR car in BoP races there are 3 stable ones in my opinion Ford GT LM Race Car 2018 Peugeot RCZ Alfa Romeo 4C

you know what's funny? I made some of my best times with Renault RS01. The only I don't like is that it doesn't have the top end speed. I feel that it's very stable in the turns and I love the center of gravity where the mid engine location. I struggle with front engine cars as I tend to have to be careful with the throttle because they blow the back end. Then again my favorites are the Honda Civic type R and Integra with the front wheel drive. I'm weird I guess lol.
Actually for the R8 you need to carry more speed up to your braking point and allow the forward momentum to take you around the corner then just at the apex apply the throttle
One way to control this is to use both braking and throttle at the same time while turning/slowing down, it stabilizes the car a lot and allows to get on the power sooner
Losing the rear in tight turns with MR cars lower the de-acceleration/braking diff, open it up also raise the ride height to keep it away from the bump stops
@@unleasheddrivers1281 BoP in GT7 is a joke, physics are phenomenal, but no damage model + tuneless BoP make this game look like a joke to me now. I ain't touching online until tunes are allowed. R8 is mostly fixed by subtle suspension and LSD changes and it is amazing to drive afterwards.
The 911 isn't a MR car, the engine sits on the rear axle. It's quite stable with a controller for a casual driver like myself. I had no trouble doing the 1 hour Spa race with the F1 GTR either, except for grinding14 million credits.😢

Toyota FT1 drives like an absolute DREAM. Much more planted than its GTS counterpart, barely any turbo lag. And it looks menacing to add Edit: while the R8 and Huracan are literally actually undrivable I do think the GTLM version of the ford GT is way more drivable if you keep a constant input of brake-throttle going with minimal lifting and it also has a fuckton of traction which is really nice to just plant the throttle down. I also noticed that the mid engine snap is less pronounced on this car after doing the RB Ring human comedy race with it. I also felt like the Race Spec (white) Ford GT is pretty undrivable, but it has a lot LOT more potential when tuned to understeer unlike most of these MR cars. Another sidenote being that in banked corners you really have to make sure all of your tyres make contact with the surface otherwise you’ll spin. I don’t know if that behaviour is something that happens in real life since I am not a racing driver myself. You can notice this when you are driving a race at High Speed ring and come around to T2 and the final corner.
the MR cars when we do heavy brake and trail brake to the corner it will lose rear traction so understeer, when i drive the Ford GT race i found some tips can more stable in the corner, and it just nerver lose the throttle when you into corner or you are turning ,even though just a little bit throttle it can give the rear traction

That snap thing in Middle Engine Cars, is that realistic or is it a Gran Turismo thing ? I never driven a car like that so I can not compare if it's real or not.
I'd have to say it's rather unrealistic. This behavior doesnt occur in these cars on any other simulator game, certainly not as it does on GT7. The feel of it just doesnt make a whole lot of sense. It can be tuned out mostly in the setup but in BOP races, it's always an issue
Well I've never seen it happen in such a snappy fashion before so that's why I refer to it here in GT7. It's a sudden snap of oversteer/loss of control in slow and tight hairpins when inputting a lot of steering lock. In the GR.3 category, only mid-engine cars have this behaviour and I've only seen such snappy behavior like this in GT7
I don't have too much trouble with MR drivetrain veichles because I'm experienced. I typically use the peugeot rcz and I like the way it handles and its stability
