AWESOME MONTAGE!!!! Never realized the submarine is the most dangerous part of this wonderful game. I recently installed and completed all 3 paths, with 936 IQ points. I think I will never get to 1,000 IQ haha.
I have just played the game again, and getting the 1000 IQ points can be done pretty quickly if you save your game just before choosing paths so that you don’t have to replay the beginning. Then, every time a puzzle can be solved in more than one way, reload your game and do it. You also do not need to play the Atlantis part (300 points) again if you already got all the points in a different path, as the game is the same in that last part. However, you’ll most likely need to cheat for the very difficult hand-to-hand fights (Hans, Arnold and Fritz). You can do that by changing your health with the ScummVM debug console : Ctrl+D, then type “ scumm_vars[322] n ” (without the quotation marks), where n is the health value you want (I used 9999). Even the game hint book says that Arnold and Fritz are “practically impossible to beat up” 😅

I do remember now on what really happened to Indy and the Octopus since I got that death But I don't remember how I got that death but I'll tell you how it went down a long time ago when the game first came out by the game designers and creators of this game did have Indy going into the canal and going into the water with the Octopus in the water with him, when he did that he got shallow and eaten by the Octopus and the message said because of Indy's act going into the canal with the gaint Octopus he goten shallowed and eaten by the Octopus where his remains are and giving Kerner and the Nazis with all the secrets of Atlantis and being sealed in. So I think later on after the game creators and designer decided to take that part out of the game automatically not Indy going into the canal with The gaint Octopus making him seemed very reluctant to enter the water.
the best part about all of this is that indy couldve just let the nazis have their way, kerner finds atlantis and either drowns or blows himself up with orichalcum :D its amazing; and also a nice metaphor for the self destructive nature of fascism. Also the one with Otto had me lol
Some of these deaths are pretty brutal for an E rated game. I think if this game were to come out now, it would earn an E10+ from the ersb since the violence is minimal but still…

Outside of laughing at you for failing the captain fight, I like that they say that the Nazis just kill themselves anyway without Indy, since that's what would have happened. In every Indy story if he didn't intercede, they'd either die to the traps without him disarming them or they'd just die to the artifact at the end since they even do with him warning them.

She doesn't have the collar at that point. The only way that she keeps the collar is if you haven't rescued her from the prison or the lava pit. In that case, she (being possessed by the spirit) will storm in the machine and will do the transformation herself. You'll win the game anyways, but most people consider it a bitter end.
the lava maze death was one that elluded me for decades. To this day I still don't know what triggers it exactly, is it random or happens after a set amount of moves ?
As far as I can tell, the way you die is you get trapped if you have the tiles blow up the wrong way. It would theoretically be a set amount of moves but it depends which way you walk in the maze and usually has to be done deliberately to die.
I always get an annoying bug here. After completing the puzzle, Sophia enters the lava maze and starts acting weird to the point she goes back and forward, and the game crashes.
You just have to stay on the lava maze wandering about until randomness gets rid of the line on the left and on the right. Then you're screwed. Eventually the one under you will fall away.
I had an intention of making the compilation smooth in this method rather than keep the game sound/dialogue as is for each clip. I definitely appreciate your perspective and will consider your method for future videos.
I’m not sure. I don’t think it should give more points for deaths but there is a difference in points between whether or not you save Sophia in the ending. I think there is also a difference in points depending on what path you choose prior to getting into Atlantis.
It would involve some luck and probably good defense maneuvers that do not make you quit the battle. Also letting your power charge could help. However, I personally have never beaten him by hand to hand combat.
Gotta' love how pretty much all deaths lead to the nazis failing and dying anyhow. So just like in Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indy wouldn't have to do anything and everything would have turned out fine.

The only options for Indy are the overdose or convincing Uberman to use the machine.
