i got this game back in highschool 12 years ago when i downloaded it from kazaa, i can even remember the guy hosting the file actually messaged me while i was downloading and had a conversation with me about how it was his favorite game growing up. its truly amazing what some games were already capable of over 20 years ago, as far as im concerned, this was the golden age of gaming if there ever was one.
I didn't even know about "paths" LOL, I always thought there was a single path, the "team" one, with Sophia. In game you never get explained there are different paths. OMG after all these years, I am getting to know 2 new different gameplays. Awesome. I absolutely love this game. What a pity they never made a movie about this story.
Gotta love how he tricks the scientist in the end with the time-tested Bugs Bunny method. "Come on doc, you use the machine." "But I don't wanna!" "You do wanna!" "I don't wanna!" "You do wanna!" "I don't wanna!" "You do wanna!" "I don't wanna!" "You don't wanna!" "I do wanna!" "You don't wanna!" "I do wanna!" "You don't wanna!" "I DO WANNA! And you'll have no say in that!"
Something is not right, at minute 1:40:52 you don't have items such as the mug and the sandwich, but at minute 1:41:09 they "magically" appear. I bet you edited the final part of the video with an ending from another path.
They could update this into a great game for the PS4. I'd like to see ANY Indiana Jones game for the PS4. The character is tailor-made for adventure games. It's a shame developers don't take advantage of the possibilities.
If I remember correctly, there is a way to beat up Arnold without using the Boulder. When you fight him and your health gets too low, run away from the fight to get your energy back. Repeat this tactic over and over to wear him down.
Daimler_Stool "Talkie" games were emerging back then. Some such games had a text-only version and then, later on, a version with voice acting was released. I think that was also the case with Legend of Kyrandia, another classic from the old days.
@@Texy88 not everytime. There's three paths with different gameplay mechanics depending on what you answer Sophia at the end of the Monte Carlo part : team, wits or fists.
@@deceiver444 That’s not what I meant. I meant that, if you were to play through the game, complete it and then start the game again from scratch, even if you selected the same path at that choice you mention, it is extremely unlikely that everything would be exactly the same as first time round.
Unlike "Crusade", you have to fight some nazis, but Arnold who I guess is spost to be like Arnold Schwarzenegger is the one nazi you can't beat, and you can't do that cheating way to win on him, kind of like Biff, except Biff was the only character you were spost to fight, and you had to get him drunk to where his body couldn't stand up well enough to fight. When I did the fists path, I fought all the nazis except Arnold, since the health bar doesn't run completely down and there's a way to cheat if you lose I just kicked everyone's ass. When you're in Atlantis and you run into nazis there you can fight, and since you won't die if you cheat you might as well instead of having Indy run like a pussy.
You mean the clay jar at the dig site? No consequence. You just don't get that extra bead. You absolutely need the gold box to find Sofia because when you get the amber fish on a string from Arnold you also get beads.
On my laptop there was an Fn key option in the bios so that the function keys had priority over the brightness settings - that might help you? And quick key function?
I agree, its def a classic. I played it all the time back in the day, non stop. I bought the game a week ago via Steam just to play it again. :P only drawback is, I can't figure out how to save the ingame progress on my laptop lol I know its F5, bit on my laptop all it does is adjust brightness lol sorry, I'm rambling. I was gonna ask did you know about the quick key function in this game?
***** Who better than Telltale would get Indiana Jones right? Telltale did old school adventure games like Monkey Island, and Sam and Max, the same as what Lucasarts and so many other studios did. Telltale did exactly what fans wanted, And the games didn't sell well. There's a good reason why the point and click adventure games were considered a dead genre before Telltale came along and changed their style to 'interactive movies'.
***** I like Telltale because at least the things are getting made. But no way do they match up to the 90's point and click stuff, they don't even come close.
Yes, I've done it (don't have a video of it, but a user by the name of Ma5terViking does). He and the dungeon guard are both beatable, and you get points for doing so.
With such a great story, I find it odd that they chose to have the Lost Dialogue of Plato conveniently located at the college where Indy worked….. That seems super lazy to me. And why did he have to break into the library in the intro 🤷♂️
It's actually not uncommon for "Lost" historical objects to turn out to have simply been catalogued for further study along with dozens of other finds and shoved in the back of a museum storage locker for decades. My question is: if it's a lost dialogue, why does it seem like almost everyone you encounter has read it or owns a copy?
@@bigmoe28 Because it might be a hoax. From what I've read about the tale of Atlantis in Plato, the Hermocrates could've existed as a third dialogue on the topic, after Timaeus and Critias, given his character appears in the other two. Some believe it's an unfinished trilogy, others that it was finished but the Hermocrates was since lost. So it's not really the game's invention that there might be a "lost dialogue of Plato" called Hermocrates, nor the idea that, if one showed up on some manuscript in an abbey somewhere, it could be seen as a fake/hoax. If anything, the mistake is that both Indy and Sophia are supposed to be scholars of classical antiquity, and know the presumed title. Sophia in particular, as an Atlantis specialist. The bit where Indy has to ask the parrot for the title is funny, but it just makes no sense.
i'd loved so much if you could with some secret trick get the god machine to work transforming all possible 4 into a god with 4 different out comes. maybe like indy; kills all nazis and makes peace on earth sophia; floods the whole world kerner; makes nazi germany world domination uber; just vanishes like in the original ^^
That would sort of defeat the purpose of the storyline. Indy came to realize that the machine was always defective and couldn’t persuade the Nazis otherwise.

and still amazing
This is Indy IV. Forget Crystal Skull.
Absolutely loved the game just as its prequel, but it would have been as silly if not more than Crystal Skull if it was made into a live action movie.
This needs a legit remaster like MI
For real, that movie sucked! This game is so much better, a classic Indiana Jones adventure.
Arr this game is a blast from the past for me so many happy times growing up with these lucas classic games. Thanks for the upload i really enjoyed it

It was a little more nuanced than that, but yeah. ;)
Ahh this really takes me back! I must've played each path 10 times back on my very first 386 machine. Floppy disc version no less, I'm getting old!
Brilliant story and epic adventure
oh man i love this game so much
When you get to Thera it's the exact same puzzle in the playable demo for this game.

I just noticed the same thing. And sure enough, someone else already pointed it out. 👍
Kerner's voice sounded like Von Beck in Emperor's Tomb.

I love these point-and-clink games.
They all are Mr or Miss Expositions saying the obvious yet it is so endearing.
In this path Trottier doesn't do shit for you except give you a card.
Yeah and North Africa is way easier too. And you get to know Omar's house. Wonderful game.

Great longplay. Just in case you don't already know, those sentries in Atlantis' outer ring? You get points for knocking them out.
I was wondering why I was 2 points short. 😭
I don't remember this game being voice acted back when i used to play it... O.o

Same. Sophie's voice is IMPORTANT towards the end of the game. It completely changes the meaning of the game. You will know when you see/hear it :)
The nazi with the gun at the dig site sounds like Marvin the Martian.
1:19:40 LOL this guy defends himself so well :)
Doesn't the woman in the magazine article look a lot like the actress from The Last Starfighter, Catherine Mary Stewart?

Long live Hal Barwood, best story writer ever!

Has anyone ever successfuly fought Arnold?
Once. It wasn't easy. Save it just before and keep trying.
Yes, there are over 10 years videos of people defeating him on RUclips. Same thing for the other tough guy guarding Sophias prison in Atlantis

good!😃
If the German doctor really put 10 beads into that machine, would Indy become a god?
no its gone wrong

He transforms into a form of energy, but it kills him.
Nope. Indy ultimately figured out that the device never worked at all. The Nazis found out the hard way.
現在還玩得到這個遊戲嗎

If Indy leaves Sophia in dungeon or lavapit room, She will appear in Machine as Nur-Ab-Sal and indy will lose her.
Here's a game like "Fate of Atlantis" that needs your support: www.kickstarter.com/projects/visionaire-studio/the-mystery-of-oak-island
