Hey, I'm enjoying the videos. I do a lot of drywall patching. I've gotten pretty good over the years at matching, but there is one texture in my area in some of the higher end spec homes that I just cannot figure out. If you were to take halfway between a knock down and a skip trowle you'd see that texture. I'm pretty positive it's a machine applied Knock down done in big globs with little coverage (So significantly different versus a very heavy and very full coverage knocked down). It doesn't stand out from the wall very much, but it's kind of like taking a normal knock down and blowing it up 25%. No matter what I do, I cannot manage to get that texture matched. Any ideas? I've literally been kicking around the idea of getting some donuts and going and prowling some of the new neighborhoods till I find the guy that's applying that texture and try to bribe him into sharing a secrets.

Hi, my ceiling porch has areas where the skip trowel texture are peeling. How do you prep the ceiling after removing the texture that was peeling?

Buy a can of oil base kills, scrape it and prime it prior to putting mud that should help

I am not a fan of mud skip trowel.
Plaster sanded skip looks better. Not so glossy.
I have the plaster version in my 1940 house. Havent found the mix to match it perfect though. Its heavy patern but thin to the wall. To much sand and it gets thick.
I am DIY. Not a drywaller. Though i enjoy it and have done many remodels.
