I have been searching for the best brownies for almost 2 years and this one by far has been my best one. I am glad to say this is now my go to brownie recipe
I always find myself coming back to this recipe, tried others but still come back. This is hands down the best brownie recipe ever!!! Sometimes I stir in half a cup of pecans because I'm a fan of the texture. Thanks Tessa for the amazing recipe!!!
I used this recipe the other day, theyre easy to make and they have the perfect texture- not too cakey and not too moist/fudgy. I used both milk chocolate and semisweet chocolate chips and it was delicious. Thumbs up from me. Note- if lining your tin with foil, its very important to grease it with oil/butter otherwise brownies will stick to bottom
Just made these for myself. And while I think I messed up a bit on some steps (the first 2 to be exact) These might just be the best brownies I've EVER eaten!!
i just want to say... this IS the brownie, i mean i am really critic when it comes to brownies, and this was the best for sure, beacuse of the texture, not to soft, not so sweet (i also used dark chocolate ) and it kind of melts in your mouth, love it!!
Made these yesterday and turned out super good. Chewy, thick and fudgy. Best when served warm. Loved every bite . Thank you tessa for sharing such an amazing recipe.
Really appreciate this detailed recipe. This is one of only a handful of chewy brownie recipes on RUclips so I’m grateful how detailed and thorough it is, you are clearly a master baker!
Thanks for the great recipe! The brownie came out super rich and fudgy. I've used 70% dark chocolate instead of semisweet, and cut the sugar to 3/4 cup (150 grams), and the sweetness level was just right! Added mixed nuts as well :)
I'm baking this recipe right now. I can't wait to try them. This is the texture of brownies I've been looking for, for a while. I hate soft gooey brownies.
Hi Tessa, I have tried few different brownies recipes from different vloggers but nothing worked as great as I wished, until I tried your recipe just now. OMG this is the best brownies I have made by far and now I feel confident to share these with my neighbours and friends as these are sooo good!! Thank you so much for the video & recipe! Pls go back to RUclips. Cheers from 🇬🇧 xx.
Okay so I tried this recipe today- it’s currently in the oven and I have to say, it was easy to make, looked perfect and the batter was pretty good too. I used castor sugar instead of granulated sugar and so when I added it to the melted chocolate and butter, it didn’t dissolve completely and was pretty lumpy. After adding the eggs however, it went hella smooth (thankfully!!). Everything else was a breeze and I’ll update you with taste asap! UPDATE: Okay so, my brownies actually puffed up quite a bit in the middle so I have a feeling that it’s going to be more cakey than fudgey / chewy but I’m gonna stay optimistic lol. UPDATE #2: As predicted, more cakey than intended but still absolutely delicious- only tried the corner piece so I have a feeling it will be fudgier in the centre. So, in conclusion: Would I make these again? Yes. Will they be my go to recipe? Probably not. Will I try again? Absolutely. Good luck in your baking endeavours!!
Hi I'm a diabetic and I can't have regular sugar. I have a substitute which is liquid sucralose I'm not sure if that's the correct spelling? I wanted to know how much or I should say how many drops of the substitute do I add to the brownie mix? Everything else I can handle.. Thank you for all the great videos you do... Juanita
Well you also have to use sugar free chocolate or just use cocoa powder.I think you should try with 1/4 teaspoon first you might to taste it then add more if necessary.
As much as I love this recipe , the screen time the lady has is madddd!! I mean even when I skipped through she’s the only thing I saw 🤭 it’s a brownie recipe girrrllll
Question… Was wondering if I could use the hot melted chocolate to devolve the Cocoa powder in? Cause I know it’s good to Bloom ur Cocoa powder to get a more chocolatey flavor. Or would it be too lumpy ?
Hello Miss Tessa..im from Philippines.. It’s been a while since im searching/trying to make a chewy brownies and finally i found what im looking for, i took picture but i dont know how to post it here 😅again thank you so much for sharing your recipe 😘.
hi ! amazing recipe and beautifully explained the detail of having that tissue texture. can we have this texture in eggless brownie can you share the recipe of eggless brownie please
I have made this with melted choc chip but can i also use converture choc chips as the melting chocolate too? Tried it on double up recipe and works wonder!!
This looks like a great recipe and I can't wait to try it. I do have a question, though. Would the baking time need to be adjusted if I use a silicone baking pan?
Amazing thank u. My request is can u make condensed milk eggless brownies and achieve same result of top ? Do share a eggless brownie recipe with same paper thin crust
So this is my conundrum that has filled up much of my morning: Best EASY Homemade Brownies Video and recipe 2018 VS Best Ever Chewy Brownies from IG and onto its link Today's, February 10, 2022, Best Ever Chewy includes cornstarch for a shiny surface. But Best Chewy uses only cocoa powder and therefor does not require melting any chocolate. Both include chocolate chips. Has anybody got any advice as to which recipe might be better?
I will typically sift cocoa powder and powdered sugar when I bake, because they tend to clump more, but unless it's a really delicate bake, I don't tend to sift flour. I don't find it necessary!
Yes, but I would also consider investing in a lighter color metal pan. The dark ones are just so tricky because you can easily end up with the edges being cooked, and the center being undercooked 😣
Suggestion. Use aluminum foil to line the inside (or outside) of the dark pan. Once you get the box shape, remove the foil from the pan, then pour in the batter into the foil. You might need 2 layers of foil to make it sturdy.
I tried this recipe and messed up on alot of things for example I added wayyyyyyy to much vanilla extract by accident and I'm pretty sure I did something wrong for the butter and chocolate measurements. TThe oven is preheating and I'm nervous to see how they will turn out... I wont be surprised if they don't turn out good due to all the mistakes I made and also stay tuned to see how they turn out I'll update in few minutesEdit- YOU GUYS IT TURNED OUT SO GOOD I 100% RECCOMEND THEY ARE SUPER FUDGY THEY HAVE 1%CAKEY TASTE IN THEM! I have two recipes for Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies! handletheheat.com/pumpkin-chocolate-chip-cookies/ and handletheheat.com/brown-butter-pumpkin-chocolate-chip-cookies/ Enjoy!!
Hi Tessa, thanks for this awesome video, I especially love the tip on the baking tin - can I ask what you are using? I only have dark tins but would like to invest in the lighter ones as you recommend :) Thanks so much!
It will work with milk chocolate but might sweeten the brownies, so if you plan to do so, you would cut down the sugar amount a bit. You can also certainly add m&ms!
Hi there! The sugar won't totally dissolve when making my Chewy Brownies (if that's the recipe you're making) but your butter also might not have been hot enough! I hope your brownies are still delicious :)
I tried it but I felt very sweet maybe because of the Chocolates available in my country.. I shall Try this Again maybe With the 70% cocoa or I’ll add less Sugar..
Hi! New subscriber here 😊 and I have already watch tons of your informative vids. Just wantvto ask, can I use brown sugar instead of white for this recipe? Thanks!
Ms. Tessa Arias DIDN'T use a mixer in this video. Doesn't look hard for her. If you used a mixer, you might put air bubbles and make the brownie into a cake
Sorry, are you asking if you can bake them without an oven? I have not tried but a toaster oven or air fryer could possibly work - but again, I have not tried that myself so I cannot advise the temp and bake time!
Malorie Hunt . Thank you for your reply. I have been making brownies for many years and all of sudden I am seeing recipes with cocoa powder added. Decided to give it a try. I used melted Ghiradeli 60% bar and Guittard powder and I agree the powder intensified the flavor. Thanks for the recipe.

Any tips on silicone trays? As I was bought one as a gift and haven't used it yet? Do I need to cook longer less lower?
My phone is wet bc I’m drooling
I would love to try this recipe. Btw, should my heat be top and bottom or bottom only. Thank you!

thanks for this video
This looks like a great recipe and I can't wait to try it. I do have a question, though. Would the baking time need to be adjusted if I use a silicone baking pan?
Yay! I wouldn't recommend a silicone baking pan here, metal truly does work best.
I made these yesterday (in a metal pan) and they are great! They're even better the next day. Thanks for sharing this recipe!
Hey what if I want to halve the recipe? Should I just use 1 egg yolk or should I halve that?
While baking... Should I turn on both the rod of the oven or only the bottom one?
I have a question. Costco sells cacao powder. What’s the difference between cocoa and cacao? Can they be used same way with same measurements?
lol cacao is just a fancy or "gourmet" name for cocoa it's REALLY the same thing ;)
Please let me know, What can i use instead of eggs? We are vegetarians so can't use eggs!
hello can i add just ½ cup of the sugar to reduce the sweetness
tried this today turned out just the way i want😍
wow such an amazing brownies tessa....
Can I add 1 tsp nescafe or espresso powder?

Does sugar dissolve in butter?
Hola soy de argentina y quería saber si debería poner calor arriba y abajo o solo ventilador?
Can i use dark chocolate instead of semi sweet?
Yes - check out the Tip Box (above the recipe) on the full recipe post for more info!
TYSM
Why the sugar doesn't dissolve and it turns grainy and clumpy? Not sure what went wrong.
hi tessa, im aleergyc to eggs is there a substitute for them in this recipe?
soooo awesome!!!!!!!
When I make brownies, I usually sift in the flour so I don’t have any lumps, have you ever done that?
I will typically sift cocoa powder and powdered sugar when I bake, because they tend to clump more, but unless it's a really delicate bake, I don't tend to sift flour. I don't find it necessary!
This looks so much like my death by chocolate brownies can’t wait to try these tho!
I only have the pan that is the dark kind. So should i bake it at a shorter time say 25 mins? Thanks. The brownies look so yum 😋
Can i make this without cornstarch ???
You can, but you may lose some chewy texture and the top may not be as shiny - more info in the full post!
Great tips! Do you have a French macaron video?
Not yet!

Hi! New subscriber here 😊 and I have already watch tons of your informative vids. Just wantvto ask, can I use brown sugar instead of white for this recipe? Thanks!

Ms. Tessa Arias DIDN'T use a mixer in this video. Doesn't look hard for her.

What percent of dark chocolate would you recommend?
I used semisweet chocolate!

8 x 8 = 64... double that its 128, and

but if we use pan that its 10 x 13 = 130... which is much closer to 128
anyway, I don't have a 10 x 13 pan, so I don't know if that does exists
so if we use a 9 x 13 pan, I think... we'll get a 9% thicker brownie.

Nayeli Acevedo yes you can use any type but it has to be good quality chocolate
