4 Levels of Brownies: Amateur to Food Scientist | Epicurious
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 8 июн 2024
- How do you like your brownies? Gooey? Cakey? We challenged chefs of three different levels - an amateur, a home cook and a professional chef - to make their versions of the brownie. And then we brought in a food scientist to review their work. Which brownie was the best?
Check out the professional's recipe here on the ICE blog: www.ice.edu/blog/bourbon-salt...

What I love is the fact each chef really loves what they have created. That's how we need to get on in life with each other. Realize that as long as our peers are happy with themselves and their being then nothing else matters. We don't need to be so judgmental of others. The world would be a more chill place. Happy New Year All!
The problem is some people are happy doing the wrong thing.
Tianna Elizalde :) I’m 27 Happy New Year, I hope it’s a great one for you.
@Tianna Elizalde It’s sad, people see a skill they don’t believe they have the ability to replicate so they look for a weakness to compensate. If half the people criticizing just gave it a go, I know for a fact their cynicism would turn to appreciation for the skill.
this couldn't get more cheesy dude, stop...

I usually think the level 3 is way too fancy but this time I think the combination of caramel and chocolate is just perfect. I can't believe the level 1 chef didn't even add vanilla extract.
I never knew you do that... I'll add it next time I make brownies lol
@@anima94I would recommend that you buy a fresh Vanilla bean and scrape out the seeds of that instead of using extract-it gives the best results imo 👌
Pineapple yes!☺️
What's the point of adding vanilla. It's expensive and gets overpowered by the chocolate. And be honest... can you *actually* tastes the vanilla, does it really make a difference?
@Cottani Buni Yeah but vanilla is so expenisve, and not strong unlike coffee. If you did a blind taste of a brownie without vanilla and then with vanilla nobody would taste the difference. It's just a waste of money

Level 1 chef : "I'm the queen brownie"
Brownie : "stuck"
Audience : ohhh
They all kinda lowkey roast each other
I wish that they each got to try the other brownies. I feel like that is something lacking in the entire “4 Levels” series.
Daulton Venglar I agree. I feel like we learn a lot but they don’t. It would be really beneficial for them to actually see each other’s work and taste it and get advice from the person/people above them. Not in the way of a critique, just through tasting their food and asking questions.
I believe the main reason is because it's meant to be about you to try the recipes yourself and for you to try yourself. They show you how other people make their own type of recipes but it's purely based off of your tastes, not theirs. that's why some people like the level 2 baker than the level 3, that's just what they fine more appealing to them. The show, I believe, is not to show which one is better, but to point out to improve your baking and to try some other recipes that may suit you.
sorry for rambling, this is what i think and i do try to look on the bright side and i recommend you to do the same, just to see a different perspective of the series. so thanks for reading (sorry for horrible grammar lol)
Frictional If it’s meant to be for us to try the recipes ourselves, then they would actually list the ingredients/recipes. It is definitely an analysis, which would benefit from showing each chef trying the end results of the other two.
They could even be in the same room as the food scientist. Everyone tries the brownies, food scientist says, “Okay, let’s break down what you did,” and starts explaining with commentary and questions from the three chefs. Way more interesting than just hearing, “Susan used store-bought cocoa powder while Pierre used chocolate made from scratch using cocoa beans that he harvested himself from the Columbian rainforest.”
@@taiken64 I know I'm pretty late, but all in all it's for peoples enjoyment and how they want to do it. It's different, I learn something and it's always fun to watch people bake. I value others enjoyment over mine though Im still a strong believer on what i said earlier as to show how different people are different and how doing things longer (putting more effort to it) changes the result. I would say it's more of an experiment though many like it like that. your the judge on it. The "Level 4" chef puts the science to it to see on, mathematically, why it would taste better. Think of it like music, you listen to a bunch of songs by composers of 3 levels, they all would sound different and it's completely up to your taste. and then Music theory show you the math behind why it should sound good and such. But to the original question, it's not about the bakers, it's about you.
I see where your coming from, and again it's all personal preference, everything we do is about our tastes, and it could be other reasons too, Epicurious could have tried it but it costed a lot of money, a design choice, maybe it wasn't interesting enough, anything really. I respect your opinion and i do understand. though who knows, this was a nice little debate. Again, just a different perspective. Cheers!
I love all three of these people. They're all funny and lighthearted.

Does anyone have the recipe for the level 2 chef's brownies
Whoever edits these is hilarious, I love how each chef is indirectly throwing shade at the others
Level 3 chef seems so passionate and loving of her job and just cooking in general 💕
