The Mario game I enjoyed the most on this console is 3D World by far. I really loved how it brought the abilities of most of the playable characters back.
Here's some fun Trivia about Mario & Sonic at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games: Nintendo discontinued their services in Brazil around the time of the Olympics, but when the game was about to come out, fans here campaigned to get an official release here, and they actually did it. Years later, they came back in the Switch Era(With very high and absurd prices, but still.); Also, the development team reached out to Samba schools and their musicians to help with the soundtrack and make it faithful to Brazil's culture! (Makes the music in this one one of the best)
Great Video! Mario on the Wii U was underrated for sure, it has an amazing line-up of games and very few bad ones. I love the Wii and Switch but the Wii U's Mario games are definately giving them competition imo. Especially if you compare just new releases on Switch and not enhanced versions of all the best Wii U games
The Wii U's poor sales were certainly not about its quality. The marketing and extremely unimpressive launch games lineup decimated the poor thing. By the time Nintendo stepped up its game, it was too late
@@FunAnimatordon’t forget the huge game drought it took to wait for one single games with the switch you’d get 10 games announced for a year but with the Wii U like 3-4 max
My favourite game of all time is Xenoblade chronicles x (currently a WiiU exclusive) and my introduction to Xenoblade. It’s pretty much an open world Xenoblade with a story and setting unrelated to the main entries. Highly recommend it to an big JRPG lover as well as peoples who enjoyed the Xenoblade titles on the switch (if you have a way to play it)
Your mini skit on Koopa Kid and Ludwig was funny. I find Super Mario's run on the Wii U rather fascinating. A lot of Mario historians proclaim that this console was the "dark age" of the franchise due to an aura of being safe. Granted, stuff like Mario U and 3D World are rather generic, and Mario Tennis Ultra Smash was disappointing. The Koopalings also were used quite a lot in this time frame; it did nothing to stop me from loving them, but many were annoyed with it. To be honest? I really like the Wii U system. Super Smash Bros. 4 and Super Mario 3D World are among my favorite games ever made. Meanwhile, Mario Kart 8 and New Super Mario Bros. U are games that I prefer on the Switch due to their general enhancements (like choosing anyone in single player for Mario U or bringing back Birdo, Diddy Kong, and Petey Piranha in MK8). Even Mario Party 10 is a fun time! I'm not big on Bowser Party, but the Bowser Challenge mini-mode is nice. Personally, I'm happy that Donkey Kong and Toadette came back as player characters, and the HD graphics are lovely. M & S at the Rio Olympics is inoffensive to me. Regarding side series, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is masterful. It doesn't supersede NSMBU for me personally, but I can't ignore the lovely art direction, lively OST, and varied cast of playable Kongs. I try to play it at least once a year. Yoshi's Woolly World is very cute; I certainly am more interested in it over Crafted World. I'd like to try it one day. I see you didn't mention Game & Wario; to be fair, I'm not much of a WarioWare player myself. The cutscenes are amusing though. While I do love Mario on the Wii U, there are certain games that aren't for me. NES Remix is fun on paper, but I'd rather play the classics on Virtual Console. I've never jived with Dr. Mario games, so Dr. Luigi isn't my jam. Super Mario Maker is definitely a creative experience. I do like the Mystery Mushroom skins and officially created levels, but I am not one who is into level creation games. Yeah... Anyway, it's fair to say that I am content with Super Mario on the Wii U. It and the Nintendo 3DS makes for a great variety of games that I love to this day! Nice video.
Paper Mario Color Splash and Captain Toad Treasure Tracker some of the best yet most underrated Mario titles on the Wii U. Ill throw Super Mario 3D World in there too
The biggest missed opportunity for the Wii U involving Mario and other titles is making console colors and variants. Like imagine a red Wii U coming out the same day as Mario maker 1
The WiiU failing meant that Nintendo had to be nice, we didn't have to pay for online unlike the other 8th gen consoles at the time. I liked Smash Bros U the most on the console and Mario 3d World when it comes to Mario games.
I feel like Mario on the Wii U is about on par with the Wii, above the DS and below the Switch. I don't think a Nintendo console has had a greater Mario selection than the Switch.
Nah, I would say the Switch is on par with the Wii U. According to the Mario Wiki, the Switch has more Mario games also counting remakes but if we don't count the remakes, the Switch has a similar amount of new Mario games compared to the Wii U.
Honestly I think so Wii u mario games were really good with mario kart 8 mario 3 world mario u and more and it had backwards compatibility with Wii games so all the mario games from there and the virtual console has a lot of nes SNES and GameCube
DKC: Tropical Freeze and Super Smash Bros. 4 aren't Mario games. Tropical Freeze doesn't even have any Mario elements. 8:07, who cares that Waluigi isn't playable.
They are not Mario games however they exist in the “Mario universe” and Mario is in smash bros so I include them to cover any semblance of connection to Mario :D
New super mario brothers U is better then the wii version and the only reason people like the wii version is cuz of nostalgia and people get REALLY toxic when people say that they dont like new soup wii
The only 3 things that were way better was the way the Propeller worked and how often the Penguin suit could be found, and the end fight. Everything else was much better on the WiiU including side modes
Didn’t see much Mario games in it. Saw more link even Pokémon. And if they made one was to much like one or remaster of one. Bet not did lot Mario because Wii U was bad and they didn’t want waste lot of money, think best was normal wiii. But Wii U have retro store so that was good.
As someone who has actually played the Wii U, I can confirm that it is underrated.
Edit: This is my most liked comment thank you guys!!!
It was a great time and was wildly underrated
The Wii U made my highschool-college transition what it was. It holds more sentimentality in my mind than any other console.
I love Mario and feel that the Wii U has a treasure trove of quality games.
It absolutely did! I think this was one of the best times to be a fan of Mario and Nintendo in general :D
The Mario game I enjoyed the most on this console is 3D World by far. I really loved how it brought the abilities of most of the playable characters back.
3D world really was a masterpiece, great hybrid game!
Loved the video and good backround music as well.
Hey thank you so much :D I hope you have an awesome day :D

Do Mario on the Wii next. And yes, the Wii U is criminally underrated.
I did the Wii! It’s on my channel a few videos down :)
if someone says the Wii U’s trash, they either played the wrong game to start playing it or haven’t used it at all
A lot of the Super Mario games on the Wii U were great.
Right! They really were an experience :D
I have a Wii U and I find it shocking it didn’t do well when it was released, it’s such a brilliant console and the games on it were top tier
The Wii U's poor sales were certainly not about its quality. The marketing and extremely unimpressive launch games lineup decimated the poor thing. By the time Nintendo stepped up its game, it was too late

Always thought wii u brought in a bunch of good games but it’s kinda just overlooked by the wii. Great video man
Thank you :D I think the Wii U overall got cast aside lol wish it got more love :D

☠️Champion's Road in Super Mario 3D World☠️
100% Champion's Road in one run: ☠️☠️☠️
While we had 3D land on the Wii U, Switch gave us Wonder. Enough said on that one personally.
Wonder is my favorite game in the last year! I beat it in two sittings lol

If you need a game to play try the Wii party series it’s so fun and good and it’s a blast to play with friends and family
Ill take a look into this, i have played them before it has just been a while :D thanks for the suggestion :D
The Mario series in the 3ds/wii u timeline was the dark age. Sure, some of the games are great but we also got some games to be bad, receptionally.
3ds was not Pokémon’s dark age
2D Mario - 👍🏻
3D Mario - 😎
Mariokart -🏆
Mario Party - 💩
Mario Sports - 🤷🏻♂️
Mario Spin-offs - 🤩
You could’ve kept this in the vault gang

Sochi 2014 and Arendelle?!
Now the 3ds
