Ok, Bro. From an experienced Maserati owner, your gas smell is the classic fuel pump plastic cracked on top, you will find raw gas, pooled on the top… Danger will Robinson! Stop driving, until you fix that!. 2nd.. buy the bypass seat sensor, to fool the system, to think there is a passenger, in the front seat.. Safety tip #2. If the SRS or airbag light is on while driving, it will NOT inflate any airbags, until you bypass the seat, and have it on full time.. I would rather have the passenger air bag go off with an empty seat, in a crash, and survive it.. Lastly, you have a Low Voltage signal, because that cheap ass interstate battery is crap, replace it, the cars are VERY sensitive to voltage, and don’t EVER jump start them. Charge a battery off the car, and re install a fresh charged one.. And yes, with basic logical maintenance, they are extremely reliable, just pay attention, and don’t accept a “warning” as a remedy. @@pelu7104That is correct, but you just need to locate the yellow plug under the passenger seat, and research the bypass adapter online for the car, or at minimum, find out what .50 cent resistor you can solder in the wires going to the car harness. In my 2004 M3, I have to drive for a few miles after resetting TPMS, so it’s likely the same for Maserati. Also, I cannot imagine having a temperature controlled facility for a workplace - this garage IS your workplace and it should be comfortable year round so you can be productive. Don’t listen to people whose use case would be the occasional uncomfortable day working on their cars. Keep up the great work John Ross!
We had a Durango that had the gas smell and it was the evap system. I think it resulted from overfilling with gas (not stopping when the pump clicked off). I tried refilling the charcoal canister myself but the garage had to replace various components in the end which was quite pricey for what it was.
I hate all that wheel sensor nonsense. I like how Mercedes does it, they just read the wheel speed off the ABS sensors and if the speed changes it knows that the tire pressure is off.
Just find some buttons from a C6 Corvette and install them tastefully. Seems like a possible great solution depending on where you mount them, especially since they are installed in the pull handle from the factory and may be able to be modified to look factory.

The passenger seat weight sensor grid thing is probably from someone climbing across and putting their knee in the middle of the passenger seat because the drivers door handle is broken and they didn't think to use the outside handle. One problem lead to the other.
I bought a 4200 for 6k 3 years ago and it’s been epic. Check parts prices with Maserati first, some stuff is expensive, some is dirt cheap. Electronic parts in particular are often nearly as cheap as 1/4 of the price as the equivalent on my 07 Ford daily

For some reason, white looks the worst once the rust starts eating it up, and then leaves drip stains hat look pretty bad. I figure once you drive this car around after the road trip for a week or two, it'll be gone because you have your usual daily driver's rolling. G-d bless.
Adam's makes an iron remover for your paint so (if you take care of your car at all) you can neutralize the metal intrusion and stop a lot of the issues with white cars. I get it about having other rust issues that run down on the paint, that is another bridge to blow up.
Couldn’t you make it that you pull the door handle and when it opens enough it completes the circuit to open the door? That way you don’t have a weird button on the side?
I know exactly how that seat sensor got destroyed. Somene put their knee in the seat cushion and ripped the sensor mat beneath. Ugly fix- a resistor and a diode that will fool the computer into thinking someone is always sitting in the seat. Problem is if the system that decides wheter or not the fasten seat belt bong should sound uses the same mat then you will always have to have that seatbelt connected.
That thing sounds exactly like my new, Scat Pack Challenger Shaker edition... Very same exhaust notes. Wonder what system is under there?? Either way, nice coincidence. And don't let them give you hell, nice car.😊 Aa for the evap issue, be sure it's not a bad line, you may want to smoke test it after (or before) you put a new canister and solenoid in it. Replacing those on an older car is always a good idea but the lines often deteriorate and develop leaks, my old, Kia sedona parts runner has the same issue.
The check engine lights stays on for 18 seconds after ignition in all Maseratis of that era as a systems check. Late Ferraris did the same thing. No harm there...
I often have to pay extra for the "two hand yank" in my Maserati.... Aside from some likely persistent annoying things I'd like to see this stick around for a while - would be a fun car to update the infotainment system and use it for a "road burner" (GT type duty).
You really have to let the check engine light go away before moving the Maserati and or Ferrari! As to not confuse it as well as give it at least a second to warm up because it will cut your performance when cold if it's not warm enough

Ugly fix- a resistor and a diode that will fool the computer into thinking someone is always sitting in the seat. Problem is if the system that decides wheter or not the fasten seat belt bong should sound uses the same mat then you will always have to have that seatbelt connected.
Can you 3D Print the cable hold? Maybe improve it some aling the way
That thing sounds exactly like my new, Scat Pack Challenger Shaker edition... Very same exhaust notes. Wonder what system is under there?? Either way, nice coincidence. And don't let them give you hell, nice car.😊
Aa for the evap issue, be sure it's not a bad line, you may want to smoke test it after (or before) you put a new canister and solenoid in it. Replacing those on an older car is always a good idea but the lines often deteriorate and develop leaks, my old, Kia sedona parts runner has the same issue.
I talked about the exhaust, it's URUTU (by far the worst name for a business ever) 😂
@@WatchJRGo the absolute WORST name for a business in Canada is TRUDEAU right now.
The check engine lights stays on for 18 seconds after ignition in all Maseratis of that era as a systems check. Late Ferraris did the same thing. No harm there...
That's such a great looking car!! It's a shame that they are so expensive to fix
I Love the colour do you have any idea what it is called TANX..
I often have to pay extra for the "two hand yank" in my Maserati.... Aside from some likely persistent annoying things I'd like to see this stick around for a while - would be a fun car to update the infotainment system and use it for a "road burner" (GT type duty).
you pay extra for the two hand yank in your maserati? oh lordy lord
You really have to let the check engine light go away before moving the Maserati and or Ferrari! As to not confuse it as well as give it at least a second to warm up because it will cut your performance when cold if it's not warm enough
I have that Joe Wash tune running through my head. My Maserati does 185.
I lost my license now I don’t drive. I hate it when I get a song stùck in my head. I thought everyone would like to know.😂
The front orange indicators make the car look dated, but still a very nice car.
Oh Italian cars, almost as bad as British cars😂
How cheap? I’m thinking of selling mine soon & im thinking for what I’m planning on asking it will be the cheapest in the states running great. Clean title 105k miles 4.2 cam caps have been done with control arms
$16.5
Shesh that’s pretty cheap how many miles? I was planning on asking 17k but if you could use 2 of the cheapest GT in the states. I’ll sell it to you for $16k I’m in central ARKANSAS
Selling my GT running and driving 17k buys it clean title well maintained just need some interior parts reupholster
@WatchJRGo Is it worth checking RHD markets for a cable stay for the door handle?
TPMS when it goes bad is one of the most annoying things on modern cars
Look for the door handle in the UK! Or any RHD country
The more exotics you work on the more I love my Toyota!😬
No tires In Kansas?
Really gonna suck when the window stops rolling down 😂
