The composer of this soundtrack, Aubrey Hodges, stated in an interview that he used a lot of field recordings as instruments in these tracks. One such recording was a bee flying around in a soda can, and I imagine this must be the track featuring that sample.
Isn't that ironic that some DOOM composers uses noises to make more awesome noises? Aubrey hodges: Uses a bee flying around in a soda can to make it SCARY as FUCK. Mick Gordon: Using a goddamn chainsaw and a lawnmower for DOOM 2016 and DOOM Eternal to make it HEAVY as FUCK.
To be fair, it only works due to the update to the lighting engine. Though in hindsight heavily changing the atmosphere was a great idea. Nowadays with every console just getting a 1:1 port of DOS Doom its the only old console port of Doom still worth playing.
This track, like all the others, speaks to me in a way that's difficult to put in words. It's that same feeling I had in 1984 and I was forced to watch the original Nightmare on Elm St....I was 5.
@@TJSx I personally reallylike Plutonia. Though keep in mind, PSX Final Doom is only 1/2 of PC final Doom. Half the levels are from "Master Levels For Doom"
Actually that trumpet like sound in the background is a bee trapped in a soda can if i'm not mistaken :D, Aubrey is a freaking legend, a king of dark and horror atmospheric soundtracks
Reminds nuclear radiation, the orange sky from the level of "Sewerage", also often turn on before bedtime. Incredibly addictive music. At the end of the moment is one that is remembered by a sharp change in the note, and for some reason he always reminded me of a Terminator with a cold gaze.
I played Doom on Jaguar, on PC, on Ps1 on Saturn, on N-64 and on SNES. I played it when my real world was like living in hell, so when I played Doom, it was like a vacation for me.
It is heard in Computer Station, Sever The Wicked(Which is a difficult level to defeat on Ultra Violence), also it is heard in Bloodfalls and Crater in Final Doom.
Ohyeah The suburbs is another extremly difficult level on Ultra Violence, However what is so sad with The Surburbs is on Ultra Viloence after collecting the Blue Key on the stairs in the acid pool when endless enemies teleport from nowhere you get that annoying Texture Cache Overflow, I think Texture Cache Overfow is the Primary reason why Archville and the Icon of sin level was taken out of PSX Doom.
I remember the name of the stage that goes with this creepy music. BLOOD FALL! the creepy stage thats full of blood and the sky is crimson bloody red and fleshy dead skulls in the sky.
What’s crazy is I got introduced to final doom first. I remember playing final doom and I played the level where the spider are in. And when I played the original doom I was so upset when no spiders were on this level 😂 I was so young 😂
To be honest, I'd rather see DOOM Eternal stay with the music formula it has with DOOM 2016 but with a lot more variety and maybe more metal than the industrial Djent. But what I really want to see is what DOOM had in the very beginning: WADS, or in this case, mods. Mods where we can take DOOM Eternal to a whole new level with ambient atmospheric tunes like DOOM PSX and DOOM 64 (which imo, IS doom 3, sue me) and give it one hell of a twist. It'd be cool to experiment I think. Also I wonder if that bee is still pissed about being trapped in a soda back in the day and still has nightmares about it.
@truearea53 Bloodfalls was an awesone level, especially entering the room with the Mega Sphere, full of Shotgun Dudes, Arachnotrons, Pain Elementals, Spectres, Lost Souls, armed only with a Super Shotgun from the start on Ultra-Violence. Intense.
Sabes que la cosa se va a poner sería a partir de este punto del juego con semejante track. También lo uso el RUclipsr Dross en algunos de sus tops clásicos.

Sever the Wicked also has this soundtrack, I could bet nobody can survive that level on Ultra Violence there are shotgun guys, zombie men, Imps, Pinkies, Spectre Pinkie, Baron of Hells and Hell Knights all over the place.
@Astroman9991 Wait, my memory is blurry, so forgive me if I mess up here, I don't believe there was any Pain Elementals in Bloodfalls, I think it was just Arachnotrons, Spectres, Shotgun dudes, and Lost Souls.
@Bravo190Charlie Erm... My other channel has successful pistol-starts of both PSX and PC versions of that map on UV. And this channel has playthroughs of both PSX and PC games on UV...

@Tiamat583 Yes I do ! It is killing music, I don't hate women but my hammer does! I think the music sets the mood perfectly, and seeing that "mood" is "doom" backwards I think it's rather apt.
Aubrey Hodges doesn't get the attention and credit he deserves, absolute legend
absolutely agreed
Thought this soundtrack was much better than the NES. This one had that horror element.
He is responsible for making Doom better not just mindless action but put a fear to it that all Doom games moving forward had.
Psx doom aubrey hodges ost better weak snes
This is what happens with the real Talent...

Holy yeah!
You mean that sounds of 0:00 - 0:06? Cause it's true, that was the bee flying inside an empty soda can, played %350 slower
Kinda ironic due to the story being isolated on a demon infested, research base with the only plan is to fight through in hope of finding an escape.
A true master of the art. It's hard to go back to the original ost because this put so much fear into Doom.
Isn't that ironic that some DOOM composers uses noises to make more awesome noises?

Much better than the PC original. Aubrey Hodges put much more syfy horror into it making it better and more intense.

I'm obsessed with this song.
4:39 That half of a second pitch bend is soooooo good
Yes!!
This moment is the one that is remembered by a sharp change of note, and for some reason it always reminded me of a Terminator with a cold look.
This track is also used for "Crater" in Final DOOM PS1.
Favourite level in any DOOM game.
Final Doom was a good game, but it lacked enemies so much empty space so much wasted potential.
@@TJSx I personally reallylike Plutonia.

DAMN the low groaning drone is unsettling.

one of my favourites, really gives you the impression of vastness

Can confirm that it is indeed used for Crater in Final DOOM PSX.
One of the favorite tracks in the game. I listen before bedtime). Even in a dream I dreamed this track is very real)
as a kid this terrified me and I loved it
This song feels like you’re in a dark toxic sewer tunnel, and the green toxic waste is the only light in this place.
& orange sky
Sewer count +1
The composition is very lively. Turn on and enjoy this ambient!
words cannot describe!!!
computer station, from ultimate doom! this music was by far the most twisted peice of audio of my childhood
Remembers me the 1979's amityville horror when many fleas attacked the priest inside the haunted house.
MAN! i fell in Silent Hill's nightmare!!! O.o
pero no se siente tanto el terror, en cambio el OST de doom si es un verdadero terror !
And this was years before SH. Even before resident evil and quake. The true start to horror music in games.

Level Crater
@@psxdoomforever7028 yes I love that level
Thanks for sharing these dude, awesome, just awesome
Server the Wicked on Ultra Violence. Moment you step into this level, hundreds of enemies see you.
Gotta love the 80's & 90's synths! :) Lets hope to hell Doom 4 can capture that atmosphere.
An atmospherer totally based in Dark Ambient genre! That's pretty good!
Nope! Hardcore techno metal!

it would've been cool if they added a setting to change the PC soundtrack and the sounds to the PSX one for the re-releases of DooM 1 and 2 on console
Sounds like the theme for Mirror, Mirror 1990
me encanta! se siente un relax infernal 😌

Ok, ive done all i can, i need to find a transport and get the hell off this rock

THIS MIXTAPE IS SO FIRE YO
it's pretty easy once you know all the levels and where every monster is it helps , also if your going to pick a hard level to start from try suburbs
Doesn't use this track though, this is mainly associated with Computer Station and Bloodfalls. Underhalls uses Track 10.
@BaronOfStuff I see, I guess my memory was right after all!
@TheFluffy47
I see. I think this is good for hunting as well.
@zimbo1221
There are no Pain Elementals in Bloodfalls on PSX Doom.
Sever the Wicked also has this soundtrack, I could bet nobody can survive that level on Ultra Violence there are shotgun guys, zombie men, Imps, Pinkies, Spectre Pinkie, Baron of Hells and Hell Knights all over the place.
The song of LEP VOLTAGE sound ambient atmosphere visually
This ambient sounds even better on crater (Final Doom)

Yes, I agree that music strongly resembles nuclear power plants in an orange evening atmosphere.

I hated this song, it was usually the sign of a more challenging level.
