Mick Gordon had a great talk about the music he made for this game where he goes through the whole process.
Keep in mind that not only can Mick Gordon produce amazing metal music, but he also made the unsettling, melancholy-filled Prey soundtrack. Dude is super talented

Definitely - the soundtrack blends more hellish/chaotic noise as the game itself progresses. By the end stage the more organic drum/guitar sounds have been largely replaced by a much more abominable/otherworldly instrumentation. 🤌🏻🤌🏻

this joke is similar to the "in soviet russia" jokes, you see this comment is funny because in dark souls, you generally shit yourself when you come across a boss, but in doom in enemies are more likely to shit themselves because they've seen your character on multiple occasions kill large portions of demons regardless of how bad ass they may look.

The entire soundtrack is clever, if you look at the soundwaves on a graph (idr the proper terminology) some songs make out Romero's head from Doom 2 as well as pentagrams. Mick Gordon was the perfect man for this soundtrack. And Killer Instinct.

It's completely underrated just how badass that first monologue is and I do NOT use the word lightly. I've hopped in game on normal difficulty and speedrun the whole game in probably less than 10 hrs, but I've also played it at least 6 times all the way though on Hurt me plenty, Ultra-Violence, Nightmare, all the way up to Ultra-Nightmare
