The sheer beauty and craft exemplified here has brought me to tears. Perturbator is an icon and has never shined like this before. He is our modern day Bach and will be remembered for generations to come. This is the beginning of a new age."
There's a surprisingly strong new wave influence on this album, I think. It's great; definitely the best male vocal parts Perturbator has ever featured.

Gave me the chills. This album is another evolution of his art, different from everything released so far, yet his style is still predominant and recognizable. This is pure and dedicated talent, and this is why he is ranked amongst my favorite artists of all time.
The last song feels that I was me as a child, which sits in front of the television at night and watches (secretly) a very dark cyberpunk film where human are connected with machines and needles came out of their faces flesh and everything is bleedings. It is good and scary at same time.
I'm deeply in love with those sounds that Perturbator created. The album sounds so dark, intense, reminds me to my early life...and it's really what I needed right now during this stressful and a bit depressing time. Thanks a lot for this. Really.
What differs a bad musician from a good musician? A good musician is always evolving. Perturbator is almost the only reason why synthwave is not dead, (even in the fact that his music is actually not a sythwave anymore). God-tier Perturabator albums really started from NEW MODEL, when he rapidly changed his own style into something much more unique, but still dark and violent. Lustful Sacraments for me is a blend of his side project L'Enfant De La Foret (especially guitar-sounding elements, they are quite similar to those in "Turning white to grey") and Depeche Mode. This is just one of my new favourite albums from one of most favourite artists, nothing else. God I am grateful to Hotline Miami for revealing Perturbator to me
Electric Dreams is still one of my favourite synth tracks. 9 years since that game came out, holy hell. I could have sworn "Perverted Precinct" with Tommy '86 was in that game too, but guess not....another fave.
It's okay to be excited and have own opinion, but man, what are you talking about? Dangerous Days and The Uncanny Valley are sick albums. Imagine that James was 22 y.o. when he released DD and on that album (and TUV as well) there are the most hardcore and aggresive tracks I've ever heard. They are truly god-tier albums. I got bored with many albums, but those I can listen to being excited equally to the time when they were released.
Mixed feelings on this one, and this is coming from a guy who listened to a lot of post-punk and death rock and EBM in the past. On one hand I much appreciate Perturbator doing his thing, reinventing and moving forward with his work, and pushing boundaries of genres. I love Perturbator, and as long as he's around I'll always be checking out what he's doing. On the other hand, New Model was excelent. Dark, atmospheric and brutal. And his earlier synthwave work was I think the best synthwave there was. This new one album... feels dark, but it's missing the extra "magic" that made his earlier work so impactful. I don't know, maybe it'll grow on me with time. Anyways, always happy to have new music. James if you read this, thank you! Keep rocking.
The quote at the end of "The other place" is in Russian and it is a short passage from Don Quijote about sleep, ending with a phrase that deep sleep is similar to death. The actual speech is from Russian movie "Solaris" directed by Andrey Tarkovsky, voiced by actor Donatas Banionis, who played protagonist Kris Kelvin in the movie. As far as I can remember there was no Don Quijote quote in the orginal novel "Solaris" written by Stanislaw Lem, on which the movie is based. Basically, it is a quote from a book quoted from a movie based on the other book... but in the end the idea still stands - sleep indeed is similar to death.

Pleasantly surprised by the album, trad goth/postpunk influences sewn into a delicious darksynth/cyberpunk tapestry. Love the way Perturbator forges his own path and continues to evolve into a realm of his own. Great stuff!.
Perturbator went from Synthwave to a very Postpunky/Darkwavy Darksynth. That is amazing. This album is a complete style transformation and I think it goes to show how Perturbator has been at the very core of a movement as one of its most accesible thermometers. What a masterpiece.
What is a genre without evolution, right? Metal would be extremely stagnant if it chose to stay the same style as Black Sabbath, for example. A genre must continuously adapt and evolve to different styles if it wants to survive. Synthwave is no exception.

James. Thank you very much for this album, this album is a masterpiece. In the last year I have been going through a not very good period in my life. Everything was dull, sad, I had to constantly prepare for exams and go to university. It's hard because the demands on me were very big. But I've dealt with it all. Your music helped me cope with all the difficulties of life and helped motivate me to go further and further. It's not just about this album (It's the best) but also your other creations. Simply. Thank you so much for your mastery of music. It's a masterpiece. I entered one of the best medical universities in my country. The perturbator lifted my mood and motivated me to move on. I don't think it's hyperbole to say that 'God Says' is the most profound, haunting and moving song that Perturbator has made yet, and Hangman's Chair is the soul of it.
Omg thats what I did too! Ive honestly been listening to it on repeat while reading it, goes so well together. The album cover even reminds me of the holy knights heretic burning part.

I came here to say this, I just remembered this album and came back to it, and no matter how many time I see this album cover it makes me feel a weird kind of uncomfortable that I can't quite describe, like I'm seeing something I shouldn't. I love it.
As a ProgRocker I am not really in this kind of music. But I am so glad having discovered Perturbator as an alternative. You can`t hear Transatlantic all the time. Not later than when it`s getting dark I often switch to this Album. I really like the atmosphere and I prefer the slower songs on the album. Greets from Nürnberg/GERMANY. Hold on!
Hauntingly beautiful album, especially God Says. That build up and then that dive into pure darkness is absolutely gorgeous. I've lost count of how many times I've listened to that 💙🖤🥰
Oh my UNHOLY BIRTHDAY!! THANK YOU!!! Edit: So much delicious guitar! Absolutely worth the patience. I really hope that James continues the Perturbator project. I've listened to it for so long it's become part of my quantum being.
The vinyl of this arrived today. Had never heard of Pert. before now, but bought this on a whim, after a quick listen to some of his other stuff on RUclips, when I saw it listed for preorder. Brilliant sound, no other pert. work to compare it with, but as a newcomer, it stands out as a very original sound. I can understand some of the similarities others ment ion to the likes of Depeche M, Fields of Neph. , Sisters of Mercy, etc,but only hints rather than copying them... So what happens to future releases if Blood money records is closing down ? Need to work on getting the back catalogue too. Love a new discovery like this ! Some occasional reminders of Rammstein also detected !
Halfway through the album right now, just as good as I expected and more! Been loving everything Pert's put out so far since Nocturne City and seems like that won't change anytime soon :)
It may take some people a second listen to fully enjoy it, it's a divisive album like New Model, but all trademark aspects of Perturbator's music are still here, songs like Death of Soul and The Other Place sounds straight out of Uncanny Valley, it's just with a new twist. It's a beautiful album.
Idk there hasn't been a Pertubator album that i haven't liked, and this one is no exception, its quite the banger, but Dangerous Days might still be my favourite.
Totally agree, I love the switch up, he still is very familiar to his roots but it's a welcome addition to his arsenal of talent. I can't wait to see him and Health in September. This hits my dark very hard, and healths version of excess is also really freaking good.
I don't think it's very different. It's just a different approach on the same cyberpunk vibes. Perturbator was always a class on its own, but you could say this is even more individual and unique in soundscape and atmosphair.

Well, the worst habbit is doing social media.
Stay in school
Don't do drugs
Eat your teeth
Arin "Arin Hanson" Hanson
Man, that album cover. It is unnerving how something so elegant and simple can be that dark and foreboding.
Wait til you meet the priest, he simply is dark, elegant and foreboding.
I came here to say this, I just remembered this album and came back to it, and no matter how many time I see this album cover it makes me feel a weird kind of uncomfortable that I can't quite describe, like I'm seeing something I shouldn't. I love it.
Он не скатывается, не зацикливается на одном стиле, вместо этого он эволюционирует
Just wow..... not sure if I was expecting anything going into this album, but it sure wasnt this. Its so great. Love it.
This album left me happy, despite what I have thought and said, it is a real experience.
Hold on!
OOOOOOOOOO this is amazing. From the first notes it's good, then fucking Lustful Sacraments kicks in and DAAAAAAAAAAAMN.
Now this is an excellent way to start the day!
About to listen to this for the first time while it's at 666k views. Feels right
Hauntingly beautiful album, especially God Says.
It’s on vinyl?!
Definitely feeling the SoM and DM vibe on this one. I like how Perturbator isn't afraid to try new things over their last few albums.
Will be in heavy rotation in my car when it arrives. Thanks for the late birthday but early Christmas present!
. . those echoing piano chimes on the track before the last, especially when the bass fills in the gaps . .
Lots of WitchHouse vibes on this one. Very cool. Feels way more French-wave influenced than most of their previous catalogue.
Dethroned Under a Funeral Haze - MASTERPIECE!!! Thank you!
I was about to go to sleep, but then this dropped. Absolutely loving this album.
Halfway through the album right now, just as good as I expected and more! Been loving everything Pert's put out so far since Nocturne City and seems like that won't change anytime soon :)
‘Lustful Sacraments’ gives off ‘-Black Celebration’-era DM & Clan of Xymox vibes, with a whiff of Shriekback on vocals. Love it!
Your good taste knows no bounds.
Hell yes!!! Peturbator is back!
Holy Crap! The synth soundscapes Perturbator creates is phenomenal, dark, moody and evolving!
I truly love "God Says". It sounds like an heavier take on Lycia's "Cold" album.
Indeed, I can also feel the ghosts of Lycia lurking in there. Haunting masterpieces, both this song and that album.
@@Atzay Glad to hear that I'm not the only one. Lycia has been a pivotal band, without any doubt.
This is so sick! This is the first album I heard and it's amazing. Thanks for uploading.
I missed you James. Thank you for this piece of art.
This is very different than anything else Perturbator has made before. Excited to give it a few listens to see what I think!
I don't think it's very different. It's just a different approach on the same cyberpunk vibes. Perturbator was always a class on its own, but you could say this is even more individual and unique in soundscape and atmosphair.
Exactly. Didn't like it the first time, but was pretty sure I'd think much higher of it after three or four rounds.
Perturbator never disappoints. Gorgeous music, some of the best synthwave I have ever heard.
First time in a year I've actually wanted to listen to music.
I'm still in shock and awe.
What an opus!
new model is best so far.
