Absolutely and this version is what made Doom get darker as the games went on. I always felt that Doom was better the darker it got a perfect mix of action and horror. Much better than the PC original.
I digress.. although GODDAMN I love this games atmosphere and tension.. cuz man this Is by far one of my fav dooms.. Silent Hill is still one of the most atmospheric games to me.
This game has such fitting music I believe horror movies should prey to doom and learn a lesson with this music! I have never heard such a masterpiece of music from a game like this before! Doom will live forever as the creepiest, darkest most fitting music ever!!!
Once I entered the facility, I saw the dead-bodies of personel litter the floors, some of which we're now zombies. A mere-shadow of they're former-selves. I held onto my pistol tightly not knowing what hideous-creature would lurk out at me from the dimly-lit corridors
Man this brings back memories. I played this game for so many hours , and the music is the best of any game its haunted me for years and so awesome to find it here.
i remember when i used to watch my sister play this when i was 7, my sister used to yell at me wen i made her jump cuz i kept screaming everytime i heard a pinky, baron of hell, hell knight and imp.
Oh man this music really gives me the heebi geebies. Its like a deserted computer factory is now been home of zombies and demons. Once you go in the monsters will not rest till they eat you to the bone *shudder*
This is the music that made DOOM what it was meant to be. The (sorry) fcuking crappy pc music and sfx did not do the game justice. The PS1 rewrote history and turned DOOM into what it was supposed to be.
This music is pure 90s, a time long vanished and much better than today. Still the best horror soundtrack ever.
Put your nostalgia glasses
Put them where?
Its very heavily emulating abstract 70s british horror osts though.
Yes! This is exactly what I said to my brother the other day, it's a 90s track with 70s horror elements!
THE MOST ATMOSPHERIC GAME EVER MADE!!!

doom 3 and 64 are crying ;(

This soundtrack is creepier than Doom 64.
However I think Aubrey did a great job with both, and he made monster sounds too!
He made Doom even better like a fine wine. Horror and action.

Ah a pistol starter
Probably what inspired the guy who made the sound effects of the Flood in Halo.
The one person who gave a thumbs down was doomed from the start
Maybe it was Bobby Prince.

Yeah. For me too. Hell, I'm forty and thinking of it still
i remember when i used to watch my sister play this when i was 7, my sister used to yell at me wen i made her jump cuz i kept screaming everytime i heard a pinky, baron of hell, hell knight and imp.
Same with me and my dad lol.
My brother always kept me around when he was playing cause I could spot them in the dark areas >:)
This has a very foreboding feel. An incoming doom sensation.
awesome

E1M6 never felt like an episode 1 level to me
The burning smell of human flesh kept reminding me that I should have never gotten involved
something was infected
Until Now Still Horror This Soundtrack

The superior Doom soundtrack.
