- Celtic legend Lubomir "Lubo" Moravcik reached cult-hero status during his four years at the club. The Slovakian wizard, currently Betclic ambassador, remembers Old Fir, and talks his best memories in this exclusive video intewerview. And of course, Henrik Larsson is on the agenda too.

EVERY Celtic fan will smile when they even hear the name Lubo :) He was an amazing player we will never forget the 5-1 and 6-2 wins against Rangers, oh and of course beating them 3-0 at Ibrox. Larsson scored his 50th goal of the season but Lubo was the main man that day. His performance in the last game of our first Champions League group stage, a 4-3 win at home to Juventus was unbelievable. Left foot right foot simply amazing.
Simple fact to put Lubo on a class all of his own! Celtic played Juventus at Celtic Park and with Lubo playing in France he had one HUGE admirer in yip ZZ! Zidane! And at full time one of the Celtic players offered to swap strips and Zidane politely said “No thank you I’ve always wanted Lubos strip!” And he made his way to Lubo Saying “If you played and had the luck I had you would have won the Bal’on’dor by now Lubo! Your a gentleman and always have been one of my idols!” Lubo listened and said simply “Thank you!” And they swapped strips! It’s in one of his books! I’ve got to meet him more than once working at Celtic Park and recently they had a charity match at Celtic Park for the Celtic foundation for the under privileged home and abroad,and for schools to be built,education,food clothing etc! And that what Glasgow Celtic was founded for in Glasgow so it’s always been the grass roots for the club! Lubos Legends vs Henriks Heros was the match and made up from players past,present,special guests,celebrities etc and there was a signed strip from every one along with signed match pictures,they got auctioned off at Celtic Park entertainment night with everybody there! Lubo came in 5’ 6” If that with two much bigger stunning females and he just said hello and signed autographs and took his seat! But auction time came and I was the highest bidder for the strip & pictures! Don’t ask the price,even my misses doesn’t know!! And I got it in a mahogany box with the pics! And with that I got offered a seat on the players tables! One of the best moments of my life! I was so glad I had that night off! But usually I seen all the players due to working within Celtic Park! What a “Job” that was!!
Lubo was pure class. Celtic were lucky to witness his skills and his goals.
Seems like a proper decent bloke too. Its a shame he didnt get the attention earlier in his career from bigger clubs, but then that Celtics gain. All the best wee man.

Lubo when you first came, everyone said Lubo Who?. You left a god. Every celtic fan will concur you were an absolute joy to watch. Some of your goals defied gravity. god bless.
because you knew nothing about football outside the UK. Lubo was a superstar in the Czechoslovak league and at the 1990 World Championships we also won matches against Austria, Costa Rica, the USA and thanks to him.
