I’ve always loved records since I was about 5 years old in 1957. I had a brother and sister 10 & 11 years older than me. Plus we had a huge wooden radio/record player and can remember playing 78 rpm recordings, my brother loved Buddy Holly and my sister loved Elvis Presley, she used to drag me to see all his movies when they came out. I was 11 years old when my Mum took me to the A Hard Days Night Premiere at the London Pavlion cinema in Piccadilly Circus London 🎉. Saw the Doors, Jimi Hendrix etc at the Isle of Wight Festival in 1970, Led Zeppelin at the Bath Festival the same year, I could go on, great memories 😊 Dig your passion for music, it makes the world a better place!

Pretty sure my kid was made to "You're Gonna Miss Me Baby" by the 13th Floor Elevators haha. Not on Easter Everywhere, but it's still such a killer psych album. It has been really great seeing Rocky get a lot more attention the last 4-5 years with releases as well.

Krautrock - Self titled/debut by Nine Days Wonder. Crazy and brilliant album
Australian - Self Titled by Fanny Adams - Great hard/blues rock

Mine aren’t as cool as yours I usually just grab a generic cover and put the band’s stickers all over them or whatever I can do to make em cool But my efforts aren’t likely deserving of being shared LoL! ✌️👽 PS Have you ever been recognized outside the VC? Like at a Record Show or shop? You will and it’s so surreal My mind couldn’t comprehend that scenario when it happened the first time LoL!
Of course! I ran out of generic covers and got shipped that cover as packing for another album, so I thought I might as well put it to use 😅. I did get recognized once at a record show and it was a very strange experience.

Brilliant mate, well done on the 1000 subs and thanks for answering my question/and shout out...very much appreciated. I'm proud of you...I was hoping July would be one of them 😎. It's my top want and has been for 30+ years. I know a couple of local collectors/friends who own it but it just doesn't turn up. I do own Arzachel as a German og, paid a lot for it but it plays with crackle which pains me. I'm sure you'll find a US og one day. One of my prized possessions is my UK og Five Leaves Left. Again, I'm confident you'll find a copy one day. It's great to see you and your friends as the next generation buying records and especially in the psych etc genres. Us older types need the younger generation coming through so we've got someone to sell our records to for hopefully more than a dollar a record. It's our pension fund after all 😁. When the movie The Trip was made, it was acid’s last year being legal before it was scheduled. Imagine how different music would be if it remained legal the last 5 decades.
Interesting how long it took for LSD to become illegal. Although it was only first manufactured a decade or so before right? We would have a lot more trippy tunes if it remained legal! Thanks for watching ✌️
First off, congrats on 1000 subs! About your Hendrix LP in the shrink. I love vintage albums in the shrink with price stickers or hype stickers. I have two copies of Are You Experienced? in the shrink. One copy is from Fed Mart department store @ $3.39 the other @$4.09 from Discount Record Center. The retail price on both was $4.79. These are tri-color label pressings. I have at least one album with the price sticker that's on your copy. I don't know what store it came from.
It would be interesting to know. I have no clue what store it is from. The price is listed as $3.77 with retail $4.79. The abbreviation HC is written in tiny font, Idk if that means anything. I bought it in Pennsylvania and the record inside is a Pitman press so most likely some store from the east coast. It would be interesting to know!
@@sorinvinyl1523 It's quite possible that it's a generic price sticker that was sold to various retail stores. Maybe not though. I looked at a couple of albums that I have with that price sticker, both have HC on them. I know what that means. Most likely it stands for Home Center. My Iron Butterfly with that price sticker has a separate sticker that says "Home Center". Not sure if it's a store name or if it's just a department in a store.
UK's self titled debut album, another variant of King Crimson, is a very special album. The entry for it at Wikipedia: "U.K. is the debut album by the progressive rock supergroup U.K., released in May 1978 through E.G. Records and Polydor Records. It features John Wetton, Eddie Jobson, Bill Bruford, and Allan Holdsworth. The album was well received by FM album rock radio and by the public during the summer of 1978."

Not really. I have very few, like Groove of ESSR which is like Estonian funk comp. I've got Those Shocking Days, some Brown Acid comps and the Nuggets comps in my wantlist though, I just havent really stumbled upon them.
