Congrats on those killer finds. You definitely have the knowledge to know what to look for. I'm retired and really enjoy watching younger people get into vinyl. Thanks for sharing and all the best. ✌️
Very cool. Great psych finds many I dig. $15 for Easter Everywhere is no joke, regardless of condition. The inner sleeve alone in that condition could fetch you a solid $50
Yeah, it was incredible. The inner sleeve made it so much better! Probably gonna be my forever copy unless I get really at some point again. Thanks for watching! ✌️ ☮️
Enjoy your perspective on the music. I am a retired 70 year old and it's a joy to see young people researching the great musical landscape of times past! Keep it up! It was a joy and passion for me in 65 to current times and your input gives up that music still has a front line focus
Slip inside this house baby! Killer find along with The Pretty Things and The moon. That’s a tripped out haul. Congratulations. May the record gods continue to smile upon you brother.
This is my kind of video! Most here I still need. Similar to you, I found a super clean copy of S.F. Sorrow in 2022 for a great price. I was elated to find it. The artwork on the Canadian press is exactly like the US press, only it’s a standard shaped sleeve. Spooky Tooth’s second album “Spooky Two” was one of those records I discovered when I started venturing beyond radio classic rock. I still need their debut. Congrats on finding a copy even though it has its problems. That’s unfortunate about the surface noise on the later half of each side. I definitely would have picked up that Affinity for $20. The gatefold cover alone is worth that. I got lucky and scored an original US copy a few years ago via a marketplace ad. A NM condition US copy for $4.00. But that pales in comparison to your $15 for Easter Everywhere! You robbed the place, and they didn’t even know it! 😂 All killer psych finds and a hell of a way to start 2024. ✌️
👋 HI. I remember back in the 1960s that Strawberry Alarm Clock song Peppermints & Incense being played on the radio. I think it dates back to 1967/68 or thereabouts. You definitely have a passion for music. I do, music that's been the soundtrack to my life. I always think of how the length of my hair was in the mid 1970s when I view your channel. I've seen you before and you transport me back to when my hair was the same length as yours. I wore flared denims alot in those days. Good records , they will give you great listening pleasure. From Carl in New Zealand.
Hey Carl! Thanks so much for watching! Its amazing to hear from people who were actually around at the time all this great music came out. Thank you! ✌️ ☮️
Hi! I also admire that there are many younger people such as yourself who appreciate great quality classic rock! You mentioned Zia Records in AZ. I lived in Las Vegas for many years and loved going into Zia Records there! Made the huge mistake of moving to north Idaho and this is NOT a vinyl part of the country; very hard to find great deals up here because there’s so much price-gouging. Keep up the great work!
Zia is a fantastic place to search for records! I can imagine Idaho not being too great for records. Some peoples prices on vinyl records just blow my mind. Thanks for watching ✌☮
Right place. Right time and there you go! Saw the Damnation of Adam Blessing in 69’. Heavy is an over used word but it fits their style. Loud is another word that comes to mind. They were making the place shake baby. Great band nice find. 🖖🚀
Oh man thats awesome! I would've loved to see them! They were definitely pretty heavy for the time period, especially their second release. A great band indeed! Thanks for watching! ✌️
Highly enjoyable. I have a store in the UK and it's great to see these mysterious USA psych albums (I do have a couple of Strawberry Alarm Clock, Love and Moby Grape records in my collection)... I would say, it's not unusual to discount heavily a rarity that has a skip. It's a big deal, to ask high price knowing it has that issue is important. It's possible it was returned or listened to by the staff, and that's why it's ended up there. I regularly sell Zeppelin, Floyd, Beatles, Bowie etc records that are less than VG+ for $5-$10. It's part of what you should do as an experienced seller. Great finds tho, you love your music. I found a UK Affinity (and a few more Hannibal, Titus Groan etc) for really cheap a few years ago at our equivalent of a yard sale. That was a good day.
Thats awesome! There are a bunch of mysterious UK psych albums I need in my collection haha. Even if it was returned like that, $15 is still a ridiculous price for that record. On the other hand, that german vertigo was priced at what that copy is worth. Hannibal and Titus Groan are both on my wantlist and finding them at a yard sale is insane! Thanks for watching ✌️
man what i find so cool is how happy it makes you feel to find these rare records the digging is the part i love so much and finding that diamond in the rough, you had some amazing finds there, the last two bravo sir, cheers sorin
I shop at Zia and It does not surprise me at all you got that Elevators for $15. This sort of thing has been happening there for years. Its just not as common as it used to be. It's those kids. Try using a Crosley Cruiser record player to get the skip out. Play the record at 78 RPM. It might just clear it. I've done it. Plus, you can remove a lot of minor crackle and tics as well. I have cleaned up so many records with this method, its amazing! The weight of the tone arm and the speed of 78 RPM just plows the groove clean. I'm now subbing. Ron
Wish I had Zia's where I lived :(. That's an interesting method. I might have to borrow my friends and give it a shot. I could definitely see that working. Thanks for watching and subbing! ✌️ ✌️ ☮️
$15! What? How did they not know? Great score. SF Sorrow is a masterpiece and worth every penny. The Moon "Without Earth" is, easily, one of my favorite albums and nobody knows it. I paid up for it last year for a NM/NM copy and it's wonderful. I store it next to "Begin" by The Millennium (original) and "Present Tense" by Sagittarius (also original). I like heavy stuff but sunshine psych pop is apparently my jam. 🌝 ☀🌞
Without earth is an incredible album that is not talked about enough! Need to get both Begin and Present tense still, both great albums. I love both the heavy stuff and the sunshine psych pop too. Thanks for watching ✌️
I've seen exactly one first press copy of that 13th Floor Elevators in the wild. $60 - and that was 25 years ago when it was rare for anything to be over $20. Great find.
was way out of my price range at the time, but oddly I do remember I left the store with a Rocky Erikson 'Stary Eyes' 45 as a consolation prize.@@sorinvinyl1523
I've spotted Liquid Smoke around a few times, but the music never gelled with me when I've streamed it. It's pretty typical for its style. Hogs Ear Report shared Lost Nation years ago, one I'm still missing. Numero Group released a 45 of a heavier version without the strings of "Mr. Tripp..." you'd love. I think the producers added some strings & other elements for it to sell, that's why it feels a bit inconsistent. I've got a mono of "Without Earth", it's a fun, but short trip. Whoa...a Vertigo Affinity? I'm missing one. I don't think you can top that Easter Everywhere find for a while. Great update!
Liquid Smoke is pretty typical. I'm gonna have to listen to it a few more times to see if I would like to keep it around. I'll definitely check out that version of Mr Tripp! Easter Everywhere is probably gonna be the fund of the year for sure. Thanks for watching! ✌️
Hey Sorin! Sorry so late to this vid but I’m trying to get caught up on watching VC videos. Holy Moly! There are some amazing finds in this haul! Affinity?!? $20?!? That is fantastic! As long as it’s playable! And that Tombstone cover OG SF Sorrow is outstanding! And wtf?? 13th Floor Elevators?! 15 bones?!? Great finds Sorin! Man don’t get hung up on calling a rare record a grail! That hole thing about people bagging on someone for using the word grail just irks me big time I say call it whatever you want! A grail to me could be a $2-3 record that I’ve wanted for years and finally picked up and I have zero shame about calling whatever I want to call a grail The fact that people get so wound up about terminology is so ridiculous So listen to old Cosmic Brian, you call them whatever you want to call em and who cares what people think! Ya dig? LoL! Peace Youngblood! ✨✌️👽✨
No worries Brian! This is probably the greatest haul I've ever had! The Affinity is playable, but it has a loop on all along the watchtower. It sounds way better than it looks. The 13th floor elevators is definitely gonna be my #1 find this year, I was in shock. I agree eith you on the grail thing! Grails are personal to everyone! Thanks for watching! ✌☮
Good vinyl karma you got brother ! U found that VU in the Donovan cover and now this even ! Your in for a journey is right such a great album! I had it burnt to a cd for long drives
Nice score on the Elevators! The Who Sell Out is another great score, I found a US mono copy a few months ago, mono or stereo, it's a great album. Little Boy Blues is cool, I have a reissue with extra songs on it, great you scored an OG. Damnation of Adam Blessing's first two albums are really good, check out the second one if you haven't already, it's as good as the first one. Love's Out Here is another excellent score. Man, it's a non stop barrage of great albums! Thanks for sharing.
Would love to compare the mono vs stereo. Little boy blues is a nice psych lp. I do have the second lp and agree that its just as good! A little heavier than the first. Thanks for watching! ✌️ ☮️
Creation is great! I didn't know about the Billy Gibbons until after I got the album. You can definitely tell when he's playing on the tracks. I'll have to source another copy of spooky tooth one day, hopefully without surface noise. Thanks for watching! ✌️ ☮️
Lucky!!! I already ran outta luck a few years ago when i found an original peeled velvet underground for 20 bucks in near mint state. Anyways, amazing find man!!
Woah. Thats amazing! Was it the emerson cover? Would love to find a nicer copy then mine. Got it out of a donovan Hurdy Gurdy Man sleeve for 2.50! In horrible shape unfortunately. Thanks for watching ✌️
$15! Wow! They could have put a zero on the end of that. What a fantastic month you’ve had. Affinity original too! I only have the reissue. It’s a great album. I haven’t seen anyone else’s show that Lost Nation album either but I have a copy and will get round to showing when I reach the L’s in my A-Z at Take 444. Keep up the good work.
Right! I had an amazing haul! You have such an amazing collection that I am very envious of. I will certainly get around to watching your full psych collection series. Thanks for watching ✌️
Wow, great finds! That Elevators find is equal to me finding a mono copy of "the Birds, the Bees and the Monkees" for six bucks down in Lansing! Lost Nation had one member who was in the Unrelated Segments then later went on to Frijid Pink I think. Big Pretty Things fan here, I also have a US original and an 8 track! We had a guy who shopped in the store I worked at years ago who was a hiphop producer and when a new Jay-Z album came out and all the samples were listed...somewhere, all the records he bought from us were listed including that Little Boy Blues LP. Love's Blue Thumb era is great but a different beast compared to the first 3 albums. George Suranovich was a great drummer. I found a mono promo copy of that Moon album in a barn in Benzie County, MI after digging through what felt like thousands of Christmas albums and just absolute junk. I saw a US copy of the first Spooky Tooth somewhere, once, but the cover was almost destroyed so I didn't pick it up. I have the CD anyway. It's on Bell in the US. I have a single. The Move covered "Sunshine Help Me" in concert back in the late 60s. I know of Affinity and Aynsley Dunbar but haven't heard those albums. Again, nice scores! -JT
I had no Idea about the monkees album. I looked it up and my jaw was on the floor. Definitely gonna be looking out for that! Really cool story about the Jay-Z samples! Agree about love. I have been collecting and looking for their entire discography, they are an amazing band! Spooky tooth is great! I have the Moves version in one of my playlists on spotify. Thanks for watching ✌️ ✌️ ☮️
Well the universe was smiling on you and that's brill. I've had one lucky find, what I thought was a reissue Ashra Tempel debut turned out to be NOS and just a total fluke. Paid 25 bucks for it.
You always find such good records at such low prices. Watching you kinda makes me want to start a channel of my own and talk about my records and some non-English music. Got some great Polish, Turkish and Russian stuff. Btw, I encourage you to get into Turkish variation of psychedelic rock, if you haven't already. Anadolu rock (which is the name of the genre) is my greatest and best find yet. Try artists like Erkin Koray, Cem Karaca, Barış Manço or Selda Bağcan - you won't regret it. I also recommend a book by Daniel Spicer "The Turkish Psychedelic Music Explosion: Anadolu Psych 1965-1980". I just think you'd love their music based on your taste. Greetings from Poland!
Thank you so much! You totally should make a channel of your own and let me know if you do! I have not gotten into Turkish Psych rock, but that definitely sounds like a rabbit hole I would be into. I'll make sure to add to my wantlist! Thanks for watching! ✌️
An absolutely wonderful set of psych lps... every single lp there is a winner. Well done on Easter Everywhere, you can't beat that real life find, like you say...online doesn't compare. Love that Lost Nation lp, really great. Big fan of Little Boy Blues as well but agree US Fontana sucks. My copy has pressing fog so crackles at times. Speaking of poor pressings...early UK Island are terrible! I'd have to revisit my Spooky Tooth but I own quite a few bullseye Islands and most sound crap, even when they look clean. The Moon debut is a beautiful lp and I'd recommend their 2nd. Not as pop psych but still has some lovely tunes. The US SF Sorrow looks great. I'd definitely like a copy. Got my UK mono OG in ex shape for £12 in the early 90s. Oh and Sell Out is a top 10 lp for me, absolutely love it. Can I show off and mention mine has the poster as well... another cheap buy in the 90s. The only good thing about being old😄. Cheers Nige
I had no Idea early pink Island pressings didnt sound good. I have a few of my favorite albums on that label. I'm definitely looking out for the moon's second lp. UK Mono SF Sorrow is the dream! £12 is incredible. Would love to find the poster for who sell out, it is a great album. I wish I could shop for records in the 90s 🤣. Thanks for watching!
@@sorinvinyl1523 Haha, every decade was easier than the last of course. You're doing incredibly well as you are now and decades ahead of you to find so many more rares. Enjoy the journey Sorin.
The intention of the Who Sell Out was to honor and replicated the sound of the pirate radio stations off the coast of England like Radio London, etc at a time when the BBC did not play rock n roll music. Some of the jingles were direct dubs off the stations. A year or so after the album came out, all the pirate radio ships were shut down.
Interesting information! Thanks for sharing. Those jingles end up getting stuck in my head just as much as the songs haha. Thanks for watching! ✌️ ☮️ 🕊
Don't get rid of records with all those surface scratches. Something I had to find out for myself. When I upgraded my turntable from crappy $400 carts to midlevel $1400 carts those record scratch noises went away and defying logic the carts were pulling way more detail. It took me a minute to figure out what was happening. The new cart diamond and cantilever is much skinnier. The thing makes contact to the groove with out hitting the side walls of the groove or maybe it is like comparing a nail to a needle. The needle is less effected by the scratches than the nail. I rarely hear a snap crackle or pop. Cool finds, man
I definitely don't plan on getting rid of those albums until I find upgrade copies. Interesting to know the difference. Thanks for the info! One day I'll get there lol✌️ ☮️
I'm new to your channel and just joined the vinyl community doing videos. With the exception of Strawberry Alarm Clock, I didn't know these groups so I went to check them out. Holy crap!! You turned me to The Pretty Things, Fever Tree & Moby Grape! Great bands and I'm looking forward to dig deeper into their catalog. Zia's is a great record store. Go there all the time since I live in Arizona. I need to check out Grace Records as I've never been there. Thanks so much for introducing me to such great music! Looking forward to checking out more of your videos! Great job!
I'm glad I could show you some cool albums! Zia's are amazing! I highly recommend Grace records! I don't know where you are from, but its located in Chandler. Thanks for watching! ✌️ ☮️
Some fabulous finds. You always want to check record condition in strong sunlight..i've been burned plenty of times at dimly lit stores and record fairs..( including on a vertigo swirl). I agree on Affinity, its' a grower..have you heard Linda Hoyles' solo album thst came after?. Nice to get that OG SF Sorrow. Easter Everywhere is wonderful..even with all that electric juggage!!..i love the song Dust on Side 2 .some cleaning fluid, a toothpick and some patience should sort out the skip.
I have been burned like that many times. I bought the Affinity fully knowing its condition, I just thought it was worth it and that it would probably play. I think I have Linda Hoyles solo album in my wantlist, but I havent heard it in a while. I love the electric jug! I'm a bit scared to try and use the toothpick, but maybe I'll give it a shot later. Thanks for watching! ✌️ ☮️
I do need to get that Fever Tree album. I need the 2nd Strawberry Alarm Clock. I have all their others. Of all the 60’s SF bands I think Moby Grape made the best debut. I wouldn’t bother with the 2nd Moby Grape. I’ve seen Affinity for a good price in the past but I passed because I just don’t like it that much. I own zero vertigo labels. I have the US press of SF Sorrow and it was cheap. $15 for Easter Everywhere is pretty crazy.
Fever tree is great! I've got the first two strawberry alarm clock albums, but I need the rest. Can't argue with Moby Grape. There are a few tracks off of their second that I like, I would never pay full asking price for it. Affinity takes a few listens. I definitely didn't get it at first, but after a few listens I thoroughly enjoy it. I got pretty damn lucky this time around. Thanks for watching! ✌️ ✌️
Hey man. Nice upgrades. Damnation Of Adam Blessing great lp. When I lived in Las Vegas, I found some crazy good records at the two Zia's that are there. Liquid Smoke is another good one. Lost Nation I have never seen. Rare Earth is a pretty common label, maybe they didn't press so many. Little Boys Blue has been eluding me for quite some time, great find. That Love lp is under rated for sure, I dig it. Man. I've been trying to get that Moon lp forever. Another great score. I'd pay $20 for a swirl Affinty, you can possibly find a cleaner lp, since the cover is nice. I have a Monument press of that album. I don't want to one up you, but I scored that same S.F. Sorrow lp at Zia's many years ago for $3, no shit. Probably in the top 3 of my all time finds. As I previously stated, I found many rare records there because the workers were usually younger and didn't know much about used lps. I almost felt bad at times, but they should have taken more time when pricing. Congrats on the 13th Floor Elevators. Kudos. Peace ✌ ☮ 🕊
Man, I wish I had Zia's where I lived. I wouldn't feel too bad about getting finds like that from them. They are a big chain store and seem to be doing pretty well haha. Sf Sorrow for 3 dollars is something from a dream of mine! I always seem to find all of the obscure stuff from Zia. Hopefully I can upgrade the disc of affinity one day and have a very nice copy! Thanks for watching ✌️ ✌️ ☮️ 🕊
Sailor is a masterpiece! It's my favorite Steve Miller Band album for sure. I spin that one pretty frequently. Still loking for Children of The Future. Thanks for watching! ✌️ ☮️
Do you have any Idle Race? The Moon album is very similar sounding to the great English band! I have a picture cover disc single 45rpm of John’s Children 1967 ‘Come and Play With Me in the Garden’ I’ve got many rare singles and I think this one is pretty rare! Never seen the U.S. version of S.F.Sorrow, surprised you didn’t get the English original version on Columbia which was released in 1968, wow just looked up Discogs, crazy prices, I used to see this album in 2nd hand bins for £2 fifty years ago 😢
I do not own any Idle Race but it has been in my wantlist for years! Come and Play is one of my favorite british psych/mod songs. I could never be able to afford the original UK SF Sorrow. I can't really afford the one I bought 🤣. I can't imagine the record deals you could've had 50 years ago. Thanks for watching ✌️
@@sorinvinyl1523I have Idle Race debut album ‘The Birthday Party’ a pop/psych classic album, one of my favourites, well worth investigating, great concept designed cover too! There second album is great too 😊
How did Zia screw up so badly? Was the elevators album in new arrivals? If it wasn’t that means it was out in the store for a long time. How does it sound? Stereo? Bet you could get the skip out with a toothpick. Worth it especially if there is a loop. Just be really careful
I have no idea. It was in the 13th floor elevators section. Don't know how it sat there all day as I went at around 8:30pm lol. Copy sounds great and yes it is a stereo. I have to crank my system but sounds good when played loud. No loop, but I might try later with the toothpick. Thanks for watching! ✌️ ☮️
Have you ever heard of a Canadian "Psych band" called Kensington Market? If not, i would urge you to check out their 2nd record "Aardvark" released in 1969 Songs to look out for would be, Side I am, The Thinker, If it is Love, Help Me. Enjoy!!
That is definitely what happened here. Zia employees a ton of people who probably don't know much about records. Just got very lucky! Thanks for watching! ✌️ ☮️
@@sorinvinyl1523 yeah that’s a pricey record even in horrendous condition. I’ve gotten quite a few OG pressings at reissue prices the same way lol. Nothing that valuable tho! Even if the disc was missing that jacket is still worth 10 times that price
I wouldn't say the condition is horrendous. I would probably grade it at a g+ other than the skip. It sounds great! It was definitely worth it for the cover alone, same with Affinity.
Johns children dont tickle me and Steve Marriott slagged them off so called psych .smashed blocked I've got on a cd psych CD ,'help ....my heads spinning ..' -bad trip
Theres a very good comp of their great tracks. I haven't really heard that Johns Children lp in a long long time, but I know that their management screwed them over on that release. ✌️ ☮️
I give up, this kid just keeps finding stuff for peanuts that ill never even see. The records you say are $15 are $85 dollars here in Australia if you even find them.
Never give up! I get very lucky yes, but I dig around a lot. I have heard many times that record prices are mega inflated in Australia. Good luck! Thanks for watching! ✌️ ☮️

Thank you! I have been getting very lucky recently! Can't really beat easter everywhere. Thanks for watching ✌️
Congrats on the Elevators! This gives me hope for 2024!
There is lots of hope in 2024! I hope the record gods can bless you with some great finds! Thanks for watching ✌️
Great video and great knowledge of psych! It's a genre I could never fully invest my ear to but love the passion you have. Subscribed!
Thank you! Psych is my favorite genre, for sure. There will be plenty more videos to come with that. Thanks for watching! ✌️ ☮️
Those are some mind blowing finds! Congrats
Thanks! Thanks for watching! ✌️ ☮️
I also found a copy of that 3rd Fever Tree album this week. Didn’t know about Gibbons. Spooky Tooth is rare as hell. Great finds
Creation is great! I didn't know about the Billy Gibbons until after I got the album. You can definitely tell when he's playing on the tracks. I'll have to source another copy of spooky tooth one day, hopefully without surface noise. Thanks for watching! ✌️ ☮️
Amazing Finds Sorin!! But The "Easter Everywhere Story!!! Dang Dude!! That's Why We Dig My Friend!!!
That's why I love digging so much! Every once in a while, you get a find like that! Thanks for watching ✌️
Your Welcome Little Brother!! Us Psych Guys Need To Stick Together!!lol!!
I got extremely lucky that trip! I'm unfamiliar with NOS, but I love it when stuff like that happens. Thanks for watching! ✌️ ☮️
A lot of great finds! 🎉
Thank youu ✌️ ☮️
Jealous about that SF Sorrow.. I love it..
Its an incredible album!
Great set of records there!
Thanks!
wow!
Thank you!
Except Radio Caroline. 24/24 only good album music. They still broadcast today, via the internet.
Wow , I have plenty to stream and search for now here in Australia . Cheers … Sorin
Awesome! Thanks for watching! ✌️ ☮️
Chandler is actually not that far. about 45 min or so. I will for sure check it out on your recommendation! Thanks again!
@@toddthemod sweet! You will not be disappointed (I hope). Make sure you check out the 3 dollar bins lol.
@@sorinvinyl1523 Will do for sure. Thanks so much again. Enjoying your channel
Oh and let me know what you find!
Hey Rob, I always carry an L.E.D. flashlight with me when i go digging. Essential.
@@TheHogsEarReport That's a great tip!.Thanks.
@rockinronist I usually use my phone flashlight, and that seems to work most of the time as well.
Since you like Psych /prog I’m discovering the
Steve Miller Bands 1968- 72 albums. Nothing like his later popular stuff.
Sailor is a masterpiece! It's my favorite Steve Miller Band album for sure. I spin that one pretty frequently. Still loking for Children of The Future. Thanks for watching! ✌️ ☮️
Nice finds for sure bro
Thank you! ✌️
There second album is great too 😊
@@roygoad2870 i'll keep an eye out for it :)
Enjoy!!
I have heard of them! I think I've got that lp in my wantlist. I'll check out those tracks. Thanks for watching! ✌️ ☮️
You can fix the skip with a toothpick.
I've done that many times. Its a bit scarier on a record I cherish like that. I will give it a go one day for sure. ✌️ ☮️
Ive mono CD of Easter e was yours mono ,rare mono even for CD well limited edition anyhow
This one is a stereo copy. Sounds fantastic in my opinion.
Sometimes record stores will have employees that don’t know how to use Discogs do their pricing and this happens
No, I wasn’t saying your copy is horrendous, I was just saying in general. Yours looks good.
@@Pluralofvinylisvinyls ah my mistake, I misread.
Very cool...
It reminds me of the sixties
when we would collect old blues 78's.
Keep on rockin' in the free world.
Peace on earth.
Sounds like fun! Probably found some pretty cool stuff! Thankd for watching ✌️ ☮️
🎊 Promo sm
Some desperate for drugs to sell 13 floor elevators
I give up, this kid just keeps finding stuff for peanuts that ill never even see.
The records you say are $15 are $85 dollars here in Australia if you even find them.
Never give up! I get very lucky yes, but I dig around a lot. I have heard many times that record prices are mega inflated in Australia. Good luck! Thanks for watching! ✌️ ☮️
