This is the slow erosion that had been taking place for decades of government doing less for the ppl and more for itself. And I'm sure all that Chinese money that has been thrown around to buy off politicians and American company's and steal our manufacturing capability just pushed it that much faster. I didn't vote for Trump in 2016 (because I generally don't vote) and I kind of thought he was a clown but he was the first president to actually call out China and that was big for me cause every other president gave them a pass. And, even though he has a narcissistic blustery personality that, I will admit, isn't ideal for a world leader his economy did well. And at the end of the day I just want lower cost of living, cheaper gas and the ability to speak my mind. I was able to have all those things under Trump. Biden has definitely raised inflation in a hurry and like Bill pointed out in the video the Democtatic party seems to have lost its collective mind.

I am a conservative and although Bill makes fun of republicans and conservatives alot, I have always enjoyed his comedy even when it is aimed at my beliefs. I believe in free speech and will never call to cancel somebody just because their viewpoint is different than mine. Keep up the great work Bill
Well we need more people like you! I'm a liberal on many issues and vote Dem, and my conservative friends will say they hate Bill. But then you show them a clip and they laugh and agree with him. It's the us vs them nature, the partisan nature of everything that is killing us. While "It’s not me who’s changed, it’s the Left” is true, and some far left bandwagons are harmful and need to be reigned in, at the same time "It’s not me who’s changed, it’s the Right” is *far* more true.
Traditional Reagan Republicans are being drummed out of the party by a cult of personality that openly feeds on and encourages violence, often in service of racism, even against our constitutional democracy itself. That isn't happening to the other party.
There are no modern-day equivalents of the Black Panthers or Weather Underground.

Until this week when I've been watching Bill Mayer again it's been such a fucking relief. Bill is among the most logically consistent figures who is apart of the mainstream but not a product of the mainstream like the overwhelming majority of his professional colleagues. His lifestyle choices aside, he has real integrity and doesn’t need to get affirmation from joining whatever the cool cause of the day so happens to be. He’s had the same general messages since his Politically Incorrect days but people who are coming of age now expect him to not hold those views just because their favorite party and approach to ideas is on the line now.
As a conservative, I used to despise Bill Maher. But, these days I greatly appreciate him for repeatedly calling out the woke insanity that has taken over our country. I would gladly unite with people like Bill in order to save and restore our nation to what it once was.

Actually, there's a long tradition of comedians telling the truth; i.e. pointing out the hypocrisy of the authorities. Lenny Bruce, George Carlin, others. Shakespeare used this technique, where the jester was the only one allowed to speak his mind to the king.

With what the conservative party has regurgitated in the last 10 years...I'm not so sure I'd confess to being a conservative. I voted GOP for 20 years of my life and then I saw the light...and phoniness of the right...but may have cost Al Gore the election in 2000. I went independent and have been kicking myself ever since.

This is a demonstration of how finding common ground can help dissolve the dangerously polarized situation we are in. I lean right but I am now much more open to considering Mr. Maher's opinions on other topics that I may not agree with.
You should be open to all considerations of any issue no matter what and no matter when. Politics, religion (or the lack thereof), opinions, charisma of the presenters et cetera should not have ANY weight on this. The only thing that should matter is the matter in question. Of course we are all human so it's not that easy, but that is the goal.

I understand the "only landowners should vote" mentality that the right loves to push, because it's well-known that land is owned by more people in conservative states and counties, due to low population-to-land ratio. He made some good points, but the baby alarm thing has been worked on for years, there's a lot of people for it. It's not an entirely bad idea. He's wrong that only crackheads or murderers do it. Some people do honestly forget. Would I ever buy a car with this installed? Probably not since I don't have kids. But if I had to get it, it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. I'm not hassled by that.

I’m 25 years old and I feel so sick of politics. I do not believe in either party, there are so many lies, tons of deceit on both sides. Although what a gem of a person, thanks for giving me something small to believe in. Both my parents were democrats until this year my father has decided to vote republican. @@jojoe4093 Thank You for asking, Jo Joe. I served in the U.S. Army, 505th PIR 82nd Airborne Division. I was also Ranger Qualified. I served in Vietnam (mostly Phu Bai which is in close proximity to Vietnam's ancient Capitol of Hue)
I came out as an E6 (Staff Sergeant). My unit worked quite a bit with the U.S. Marine Corps who were in control of Hue, but had a hell of an engagement with the NVA. In the end, the Corps kicked butt and resumed its control of Hue. We provided back-up when and where the Corps needed it. Great bunch of warriors, needless to say. Again, I thank You for Your interest.

It’s actually $2500 in Texas for it to be labeled as a felony vs only $900 dollars in California. So it’s over 2.5 times worse in Texas than California. I wonder why Bill Maher did not bring up that fact?
@@giantsr1eva because the prosecutors in California are saying that they won't prosecute any shoplifting. The reason theft over 1k is still prosecuted is because felonies are federal, meaning federal prosecutors now have jurisdiction and can take the case before the state prosecutors dismiss charges.

@@SB4F I think the point of the quote is that the left moves so fast, classic leftists like Maher who hold their beliefs, end up to the right of the center, hence conservative. I recall a study a few years back that compared presidential policies from the past to the current times. Based on President Obama's policies, he would have been considered conservative by 2018-20. Could be wrong but I think that's what the quote is getting at.
Yup, pretty much what happened with me. Started disagreeing with them around the time the first gay marriages were happening back in 2004. That's about when they had to start looking for more victims, and there were none.

Bill's comments on the warning message that cones with a wooden storage shed reminds me of a warning sticker I saw in a bathroom in a diner in Oregon. It was on one of those old style hand drying towel units hanging on the wall by the sink. It was the kind that has a long roll of cloth that you yank on to get a new clean section (while the previously used section gets rolled back up into the wall unit). The sticker read something pretty close to: "Warning: Do not insert your head into the cloth towel loop and attempt to hang from it." Well, duh! And you know why that sticker was there. Some kid probably did that, and then their parents sued the diner because the towel unit was "unsafe" because it didn't have that warning.

A LOT of us in the Middle appreciate this, too Bill. It's not just Republicans. That "small group who lost their minds" within the Democrat Party, well, they have been making life miserable for almost everyone who isn't them.
I wouldn't say you're a hero on FOX; but sane conservatives, moderates and libertarians (and some remaining sensible liberals) alike, are just happy that someone is calling out the stupidity and speaking the truth. The absurdities are mind blowing and concerning, BUT the silence and lack of backlash is downright disturbing. No one has the stones to call it out and speak the truth. If there's ever been a time in which a viable third party could rise, it's now. We need a practical party that reaches "average" Americans, open to sensible progression while preserving valuable traditions. A party that isn't so hamstrung by these algorithm-driven issues, with a strong focus on fixing what is ultimately wrong with the American political systems. Putting restraints and policy in place that addresses the greed and the two-party stranglehold.
Many of us are sick and tired of the divisiveness and lack of tolerance that comes with the two prevailing political ideologies.

A third party has nothing to do with voters. The way the system is set up means the politicians within the current parties need to break away. The Democrats came from the Democrat-Republican Party, the Republicans from the Whigs. It would be nice to see moderates from both sides come together to form a party with some actual workable policies.
Many people would be a bit surprised how many people leaning either left or right both agree with a lotta stuff that the Libertarians have been saying...
Hopefully more states adopt ranked choice voting like Alaska is doing. That would make third parties way more viable and likely to win.
