Because obviously, Bill Maher's version of events are misleading. Obviously students aren't offended by valid discussions. Some quotes from the original story:
"...allegations the office found to be substantiated include Kilborn in a January 2020 lecture dismissing a Black student’s view that his comments were overgeneralizing references to people of color, referring to racial minorities as “cockroaches,” and denouncing their participation in civil rights claims. Additionally, the letter claims Kilborn characterized media stories focused on the negative behaviors of white men as “lynching.” All of the remarks were made in the space of one hour, according to the letter, and Kilborn reportedly acknowledged much of the conduct."
"....he refused to participate in cultural competency training and coachings...."
"...other classes that included racial slurs as part of the academic process have been meaningful. As an example....a property class taught by UIC Law professor Cecil Hunt. They read cases with a lot of offensive language, nothing was redacted and much of it was discussed in class..."

I'd be curious whether she wanted to hide her head in the sand, or whether she thought she could have gotten the message with a little less immersion. If she was crying because the content upset her, I kind of feel sorry for her; but if she was crying because she thought the professor shouldn't be able to show it, that's a lot less sympathetic.

How? I asked. "I was offended." I had never heard of such a thing. She didn't offer any rebuttal or counter-argument, just that she was upset. I didn't get what the big deal was, so I shrugged. She got even more mad and frustrated and said, "Don't you understand!? I was offended!" I guess she wanted some apology or something but I just shrugged again and said, "Oh, well". She stomped off.

If you asked me a few years ago, I would have never thought that Bill Maher, a man who was at the forefront of the elitist progressivism that evolved into this social contagion, would be one of the only voices of reason in the entertainment world fighting this very thing. But I'll gladly take it.
He's gone through a redemption in my eyes. Not that he owed anybody that, but I'm glad I can feel that way. His ability to have mature discussions with those he might disagree with, and incredibly, _actually_ change his mind on topics after doing so, has restored my respect for him in a way that very few ever have. He's a powerful voice in this fight, considering his left-leaning political disposition. And he's a brilliant example that people on the left don't have to comply to this ideological cultism.
So, hats off to you, Bill. I genuinely appreciate you for what you're doing, and I respect your bravery and integrity. You'll have my support for as long as you continue being an example of this for others.

He did that show in a time where people were relatively safe from serious blowback. His show might have gotten canceled, but his identity and standing were still intact. That's changed significantly today.
All that said, he's had an awakening and has really put genuine effort in to seek the truth and speak it to power. He's at much greater risk today than he ever was, and he's doing it for the right reasons. So I respect him for that.

Selfishness is a result of not having attachment needs met in early childhood. It absolutely can be minimalized by giving children a loving, structured early childhood where they're taught how to healthily process emotions.

Regarding Mumford and Son’s Winston Marshall: whilst he did apologise to the people cancelling the band, he later left the band, retracted the apology and has been outspoken about the error of apologising to the mob. He now hosts a series for The Spectator exposing cancel culture called Marshall Matters.

Years ago, I read a book called "Life and Death in Shanghai" which was a first person account of the Cultural Revolution. The term, "Struggle Meeting" has never left me since. Truly history will repeat itself because human nature is so unbending! Thanks, Bill Maher!

I don't think it's repeating at all. The people behind the Chinese cultural revolution were actually, y'know, smart. The people were seeing now are all fat, lazy, dumb, lame, mentally ill, and their ADHD has ADHD for God's sake. They almost never read and the ones who do are all fat and lazy as shit. They're still a problem, but they're also retarded. If you tried telling Che Guevara your pronouns, he would tell you to fuck off.

Dave Chappelle was "cancelled" by the woke culture. He decided to lay low until the right moment. He came back with a roaring vengeance. Now, he may be more popular than ever. I have always liked Chappelle. I knew he was a no holds barred comic and that was great because he stayed relevant and funny. You and I, among a host of others, can celebrate Dave's comic approach to reality.
