yourfavnurseb that will be great for you to go back and teach at your school you are right about having more good CNA as well your personality and knowledge is phenomenal I wish you all the best
I agree, she would be a great nursing instructor... there’s a great need for nursing teachers which is also why it’s so hard getting into these programs bc theres not many teachers and it was said in an article I read its due to the pay...older skilled nurses don’t go into to teaching bc they’ll take a pay cut so they choose to stay in the field until retirement.
I'm making $9/hr as a CNA in the state of Florida...only been a CNA for two weeks in an ALF...they told me once I get my LPN they will put me up to $19/hr with benefits....I'll def be doing correctional nursing upon graduation tho!
As a NYC RN, graduating with an Associates degree, the pay was $31.50hr at an outpatient facility. A year and a half later, graduating with my BSN and making a job change to the Hospital, my pay jumped to $49hr. I would suggest every nurse to at least obtain their BSN. Don’t listen to those that state it doesn’t matter. Don’t stop the increase in your coin. It makes an extreme difference in pay wether applying for a magnet hospital or not. Great vid by the way...
In NYC they recently passed a law stating it's mandatory to get your BSN.... I believe within 10 yrs of getting your License.... So now theirs no choice... Well in NYC their isnt...

in my second year of practical nursing school in Canada. I'm literally in love with your channel. I've pretty much been watching your video almost from the start of nursing school and you honestly helped me so much. Keep being awesome!
Nursing With Key I watched both your channel and her for inspiration and information keep up the good videos you guys inspired me to go from unemployed mom of 3 to CNA in a rehab and now I’m in school and 24months away from being a RN ASN😌😀
I love seeing nurses telling others how to go get that money..I've been a nurse since 2002 and let me tell you, I DO NOT PAY WITH THE TIME CLOCK AT NOBODY FACILITY...I WILL BURN YOUR TIME CLOCK UP...me putting in anywhere from 140-200 hrs per pay period..I feel like I went to school under all this stress so yes I'm honna make up for it by working..Plus my patient care is always 100💪💪💪💪💪
2+ yrs as an RN AND a charge nurse at a LTC making only 22$/hr. Nooooo. Hopefully she found better. Most hospitals don't discriminate with AD/SN and a BSN when it comes to pay, it's usually the experience they go by. The only hospitals I've known to do it are government operated such as the VA. After first semester of RN school we were automatically CNAs and I got a job in a nursing home. I left after 4 months because it was literally a dead end and depressing. Just started working on a psych unit in a hospital and the benefits/pay is 10000x better. I would recommend anyone to go into a hospital as a tech/CNA especially if you're in nursing school.
Hey, I def agree that if you want to go into nursing you should work in a hospital as a tech, its something that i wish I did. Make sure that you join the yourfavnurseb fb group. And yes she did move on, she became an on call hospice nurse and loves it. -nurseb
Hi , i live in New York i used to make 16 dollars as a CNA then became an LPN now i make 26 dollars entry level. Some agencies pay 30 dollars in New york.
I work agency as a CNA and omg the pay is excellent! I used to hate busting my hump for $12 an hour and now I'm double that, and that is not an exaggeration. Around the holidays and on weekends the pay increases due to the demands to fill shifts. I also love the fact I can make my own schedule and since I'm in nursing school, that is a big plus. The ONLY downfall of my job is, I have no benefits. I love my job so much that I couldn't even see myself not working as an agency NA or nurse in the future because it allows me to have a life and not be a slave to a job that I doesn't even pay me enough to pay my bills.
I work agency on the side and I make $18-$23 an hour as a CNA. I decide where I go. Also if you become a regular at a facility they will request the agency to only send you to work at their facility. Also agencies have travel nursing assignments. It’s also test to do agency work while in nursing school. You can work around your school schedule. Get paid weekly or daily. It’s beautiful!!!!
19 may have seemed low but here in Louisiana a new grad RN only earn 20 and if you have your bsn it's 20.50. Yes only a 0.50 cent difference to have a bachelors degree. Smh anyways the shift diff pay is pretty good at my job. 5.00 for overnight and an additional 5.00 for weekends. Needless to say I prefer night shift and weekends lol.
Love your videos ! You are so down to earth and very informative currently in nursing school in Illinois!! And congrats on the baby I watch your other channel as well ❤️
you keepin it 1hunnid I like that loll... yea so I work for that VA and they will pay for me to go to school to become a nurse and pay my salary while I'm in nursing school.
You are so inspiring young lady! I love your videos. I've been watching you since the summer when i first decided to leave my state job of 10 years here in St. Louis and pursue a nursing degree. I am waiting to get my acceptance letter from the MET center which i will be starting in March. From there i plan on completing a bridge over program to RN. I just wanted you to know that you have been helping me on my new journey. Just wanted to tell you thanks😊

Cos I cant imagine people saying dont talk about the money I am a mom of 3 I need money and I love to help ,but right now I need to take care of dem kids
I can tell that regardless of cost of living in California (where I’m from), this is the BEST place to be an RN. I watch so many videos where nurses are saying they aren’t making that much money or enough (they’re never in Cali). Even though the cost of living is high, nurses out here never feel like they aren’t making enough to afford it. PLUS, there’s soooooo many programs here at all our community colleges where you can get your ADN FOR FREE while receiving thousands each semester in grants (like I am now). Graduate, start working as an RN, and go take an online 1 -2 year BSN program for around 10k, or even less! RNs out here start off in the 40s an hour NO EXPERIENCE (that’s considered LOW here) fresh out of school, and it just keeps increasing each year of experience you gain. I know nurses with BSNs making 80k/year. These other states are not doing y’all right from what I’m seeing on RUclips.
Wow! On the fb group a lot of people are saying the programs are very hard to get into. Have you found to be the case? What are in Cali are you in? I had no idea they had grants to go for free. Thanks for commenting and good luck with school. And yes these other states are crap. Since Leeron moved to LA I’m trying to convince my husband to move out there.

I took a job as an hospital tech and was making $12. Once the new year starts I will be looking for a LPN job. Since I'm freshly out of school I heard they'll start me with $16 at LTC.
New Grad BSN, RN here. Just signed my offer letter. Starting at 29.75 at a SLF with an adjustment after 90 days to 30.18 plus a 2 dollar shift differential for nights and 4 dollars for weekends. Overtime w bonuses available and 100 a month towards tuition or student loans.
GURL! what a minute?!? is that typical or is that based on a lot of exp, the facility or the area in Cali. I need to know details! Is that a comfortable salary to live off of in your area. Sorry to be intrusive, I'm just interested. Do you know how much LVNs make in your area, and you should def look into going to school (this year!). -nurseB
Cost of living in Cali is extremely expensive. 24 in most of the country is a nice hourly pay but it’s basically minimum wage in Cali when rent on the cheap end is 2000 a month.
Janobrien lol no that is not true I am from california minimum wage Is 11.00 a hour and cnas make on average make between 11.00 - 15.00 dollars a hr. and a one bedroom right now is between 1275.00 average and 1600.00 on the higher end . 1500 for a 2 bedroom lower end and yea 2000.00 and higher a month for nicer areas! My friend pays 1,075.00 a month for a older 2 bedroom its about where in California and she definitely makes good money for a cna in California. LVNs on average in CA makes what she makes about 23.00 a hr (average) and higher end 30.00 a hr.
I attend vatterott and a couple of my instructors are there as their side hustle. They teach about 3 classes a week and make close to 1300 extra per month.
Mary Grandberry yea something about nurses, they like to work. I think some ppl are trying to maintain a certain lifestyle, while others just see as its money to be made, let me get that. How do u like vatterot? How long have u been there?
yourfavnurseb I have been at vatterott since August for MA (Had plans on moving to Kirwood that fell thru an started attending). But I start my LPN prerequisites in July. I would never recommend vatterott to anyone unless you like to stay on people's necks.
This is true Nurse B about the Magnet status hospitals but also I believe the hospital may obtain more funding from resources because of your education and they being able to say that they are a skilled facility. The RN may not necessarily benefit from the BSN initially but the hospital may acquire more funding.
Just came across your channel and got so excited when you said you’re from STL! Me too! I’m starting UMSL’s nursing program in January. Glad I found your channel!
Do you know anyone who is a radiography and could you give me some thing I. What They do in the hospitals or do they also work with nurses because I am going to major in radiography
Hi I am a radiology technologist specializing in mammography. What questions do you have? Happy to help.. We have many specialties in radiography and pay can be good depending on that.
Can having a disability be a Disadvantage in this field. I can relate to a lot of people that are having problems.. I’m hearing impaired doing my pre-Rex
Kimberley Nicole hi there, Im sure it can at times. I worked with a nurse that had cochlear implants. Im not sure why though. But omce she got use to the job she did really well and moved on to a telemetry unit in a hospital. Perhaps it's like other debilitating diseases like lupus or sickle cell anemia, unfortunately it's just something that you have to find ways to overcome. But Ive known nurses that have done it. Im sure you will be one of them, youll become a nurse! -nurse b
yourfavnurseb I love absolutely your videos! You are very relatable and do a good job of not sugarcoating your experiences which are extremely helpful to those of us wanting to enter into the CNA/LPN/RN field. Your patients are lucky to have you. Keep up the good work.
You are my favorite person and my favorite youtuber and you are a great and a amazing nurse YourFavNurseB and I am getting my STNA license next year and I am going to be working at a nursing home as a STNA and I am going to go to school for LPN and still work as a STNA until I get my LPN license and I want to be a nurse for the rest of my life until I retire and I want to work night shift at a nursing home because night shift is my favorite shift and I am a night owl and I love to work night shift in a nursing home and I am going to be working 3pm-7am every night and I am going to be working 16 hours a day and I will make a great and a amazing nurse because of you and I am learning a lot about nursing from you and can you teach me more about nursing
Exactly when working as an CNA an I remember working hella hours before New Yrs Eve.. I had overtime, double, holiday time. When I tell you I bought cried when I seen my check. They took them taxs .. I don’t recommend doing it..
At 3:05 you say an LPN making $11 is less than a CNA. You need to consider the area. I am a CNA on night shift in a hospital and I only make $8. This hospital pays CNA's $8, LPN's $12.75 and RN's $19.75.
I couldn’t get a job for CNA which sucked (felt like I waisted time after the fact) so I ended up going for phlebotomy for 3 years..I’m now looking to go back to school for LPN. But South Carolina cheap asf 🙄so nurses down here don’t make as much as others do from what I’ve researched/heard.
I didn't know that as a lpn you can make as little as 11 dollars an hour that is crazy here in Michigan they start you off 23 dollars in LTC as an LPN but you work hard for it which makes me want to go back to school and go for RN
Adesuwa Idemudia I am obtaining my BSN online. I work full time and have to take care of my kids but I’m not quitting. I have two classes left and I’ll be finished before December.
You must not know what it cost to live in Los Angeles. It’s very close to NewYork prices. Saying California and LA is two different things. There are some cheap places in California but LA isn’t one of them.
I'm a CNA and make $12 an hour at a nursing home. My coworkers say they been there for about 10+ years and they only make about $13 an hour. Not so sure if it's true or not.
Actually, your co-worker is telling the truth. I worked all over LA County. CNAs in the nursing homes make $12 - $13 regardless of experience. In the hospitals they make $14 - $15. Money for CNAs is in the hospitals. I worked in a nursing home for less than a year. I noticed they were trying to pay less and wanted to give me 18 patients on night shift. Sometimes 23 patients when we had call offs. I used to find CNAs and RNs hiding in rooms crying because they were stressed out from working nursing homes. They work u hard for little money. I work in the hospitals now. Its less stressful and the money is a little better.
RN's make close to $100,000 a year. My brother and his wife are RN's and I'm an LVN/LPN and make close to 60,000 a year so, yes that is low for an RN. No one wants to pay RN's for their skill and knowledge so if that person doesn't know better they will accept 22 per hour. I made that right out of LVN school.
You have to be...they work you...I mean they work you. You will feel some type of way if you find you are not making all the money you can...with the amount of often disgusting back breaking emotionally spiritually mentally physically draining work you're doing. Plus gotta pay back those loans, feed your family, and pay those crazy taxes. So it sounds cold but this is real out here. If it don't make money it don't make scents/sense
By the way have you ever thought about teaching you will be a great nursing teacher

I DON'T WANNA BE A NURSE BECAUSE OF LOTS OF MONEY. !
The nurse burnout is real
This account is so awesome! I start my pre-requisites to nursing in a few days! I pray I make it to be able to find all this info useful. Lol!
I can’t find any info on picket nursing 🤷🏻♀️
This is true Nurse B about the Magnet status hospitals but also I believe the hospital may obtain more funding from resources because of your education and they being able to say that they are a skilled facility. The RN may not necessarily benefit from the BSN initially but the hospital may acquire more funding.
Lisa Hobbs yea that makes a lot of sense.
Just came across your channel and got so excited when you said you’re from STL! Me too! I’m starting UMSL’s nursing program in January. Glad I found your channel!
Suzy M yay! Have u done the pre reqs already or is it incorporated into your program
yourfavnurseb I’m working on them at SCC right now. Struggling to keep that 4.0 so I can hopefully get some scholarship money 😩
Suzy M me too girl lol
Exclusive Addition you’re in STL too?
Im a CNA and I'm in school while working fulltime overnights. We can do it. Phil.4:13
I make 17.50 in a hospital in Denver as a CNA
Kim Anei How many years experience do you have as a CNA?
dang that's good
ChubbyBunny Rivera OMG I am so sorry that happened to you SMH
Shaheeda Abdullah 9 years
Kim Anei in 2007 my last CNA job in New York was $16.10 an hour
Do you know anyone who is a radiography and could you give me some thing I. What
They do in the hospitals or do they also work with nurses because I am going to major in radiography
Hi I am a radiology technologist specializing in mammography. What questions do you have? Happy to help.. We have many specialties in radiography and pay can be good depending on that.
@@HeightHome what is your pay? im curious
So glad you mentioned the tax bracket!!! So true.
Please do another video on traveling LPN and pay rate. Thanks nurse b!!
I love you so much. And I love watching your videos.🥰🥰🥰
Aww thanks love
Can having a disability be a Disadvantage in this field. I can relate to a lot of people that are having problems.. I’m hearing impaired doing my pre-Rex
Kimberley Nicole hi there, Im sure it can at times. I worked with a nurse that had cochlear implants. Im not sure why though. But omce she got use to the job she did really well and moved on to a telemetry unit in a hospital. Perhaps it's like other debilitating diseases like lupus or sickle cell anemia, unfortunately it's just something that you have to find ways to overcome. But Ive known nurses that have done it. Im sure you will be one of them, youll become a nurse!

yourfavnurseb thanks so much..
yourfavnurseb I love absolutely your videos! You are very relatable and do a good job of not sugarcoating your experiences which are extremely helpful to those of us wanting to enter into the CNA/LPN/RN field. Your patients are lucky to have you. Keep up the good work.
Kimberley Nicole one of my instructors in nursing school (RN/BSN) is very successful and is hearing impaired. You can do it!
Could you do a video on CNA pay vs Lpn pay? Like what are some things you can do now that you couldn’t when you was living on CNA pay
That's a great idea, will do.
-Nurse B
Exactly when working as an CNA an I remember working hella hours before New Yrs Eve.. I had overtime, double, holiday time. When I tell you I bought cried when I seen my check. They took them taxs .. I don’t recommend doing it..
Great informative video on salary!
Thank gurlie.

My cousin is an LPN she makes 29 in Michigan at an assisted living nursing facility
Thank you for being so transparent...It really helps.
Work where you can benefits and be a traveling nurse.
My friend makes $18 per hour in Illinois in a nursing home
You have to work more then one Agency to help with cancellation.
I wanna go to school for Doctor 👩⚕️ assistant. PA
At 3:05 you say an LPN making $11 is less than a CNA. You need to consider the area. I am a CNA on night shift in a hospital and I only make $8. This hospital pays CNA's $8, LPN's $12.75 and RN's $19.75.
Wow not trying to sound rude, but that's very low. Where do you live?
I couldn’t get a job for CNA which sucked (felt like I waisted time after the fact) so I ended up going for phlebotomy for 3 years..I’m now looking to go back to school for LPN. But South Carolina cheap asf 🙄so nurses down here don’t make as much as others do from what I’ve researched/heard.
SouthernCarolinaLady no ma’am I’m a lpn in Sc and make over 27 dollars an hour but I’m currently in the RN program
very informative video!
I make $10 per hour as CNA..(I'm in Texas)
I love you darling, you just empower me. Never mind the haters
Then there are insurance companies where a nurse can have a cushy job making top dollar 😉
What do you mean?
RN, ADN 27 an hour Louisiana
Very informal! Thanks for sharing! New subbie!
I agree
I didn't know that as a lpn you can make as little as 11 dollars an hour that is crazy here in Michigan they start you off 23 dollars in LTC as an LPN but you work hard for it which makes me want to go back to school and go for RN
you are def right, about it making you want yo go back for your RN!
-nurseb
What would be the best work setting for "newbie" cna?
Nursing home for the most experience.... hardest work though.
Are u rn/bsn
I know ADNs making 100k a year
Def possible. Depends on your area specialty and overtime
I'm in Mississippi, LPN my pay rate is $23-$30 .... depending where you work and what exactly you do
That’s awesome, I’ve always heard it was low. That more than MO and FL
???? Mississippi ???? That’s weird
Seriously??? That's crazy. LPNs start at 15 and don't make more than 25 maximum in VA.... I don't see how that's possible in Mississippi
Agency don't offer benifts though.
Miss Bright Eyes Some do
So, are you a registered nurse?
That intro thou.... that was the realist.
Halison Escoto story of my life
Thumbed up after the intro lol!
Definitely have to research
amen first five seconds yasssssssss
your videos are very helpful
Thank for all the info and all the hard work you put in into making this video
I am encouraged. I just go into a bsn nursing program and I am really stressed out. Juggling school and kids.
Adesuwa Idemudia I am obtaining my BSN online. I work full time and have to take care of my kids but I’m not quitting. I have two classes left and I’ll be finished before December.
18.50 is a lot of money for a new nurse.... most states start new LPNs at about 15.
Nocta Eucta Los Angeles LVN/LPN starting pay is 26.00 per hour.
@@bradleyalexander4237 .right.... that's in California. That's like the equivalent of $12 an hour on the east coast.
You must not know what it cost to live in Los Angeles. It’s very close to NewYork prices. Saying California and LA is two different things. There are some cheap places in California but LA isn’t one of them.
@@bradleyalexander4237
I think you misread my comment.
You are right I did misread your comment. 😀
I'm a CNA and make $12 an hour at a nursing home. My coworkers say they been there for about 10+ years and they only make about $13 an hour. Not so sure if it's true or not.
Nina Cortez location?
E. D Baldwin park, ca (LA County)
😩😩💝💝💝💝💯❗️😘
Thank you so much for all this research
Np. Let me knowif you have any more video request.

Are u a LPN or RN?
Tonya Jenkins LPN
👍👍👍👏
I made 40k part time as a medical asst with over 10yrs exp. As a RN 22 ph is low
DoingMe right.
You make nursing sound exhausting 😥
remarkably weird Marcus maybe your just a fragile person. Stop the drama
Saucy Chica NO I'm far from fragile so take your insults elsewhere 😁
remarkably weird Marcus... Shes just keeping it one hundred !!!
remarkably weird Marcus it can be.
LPN in Illinois start out with $25 an hour.
Why are you guys soo concerned about money?
You have to be...they work you...I mean they work you. You will feel some type of way if you find you are not making all the money you can...with the amount of often disgusting back breaking emotionally spiritually mentally physically draining work you're doing. Plus gotta pay back those loans, feed your family, and pay those crazy taxes. So it sounds cold but this is real out here. If it don't make money it don't make scents/sense
Because money is what makes the world go around. Dawh
why are you not?
That such a dumb question bruh we put in the work for this competition right from prerequisites
I'm $100,000 in loans LOL. I need money just to survive and not destroy my credit
Is this the ghetto version
