I regularly have to remind myself that it is not important to play perfectly or to sound amazing when playing on the worship team. I'm not supposed to be performing, but rather participating in the corporate worship. When I make mistakes I fixate on those moments and feel embarrassed (even though it is likely that very few people noticed). I need to work on my pride.

I’ve been battling panic attacks and chronic anxiety for many years, and I am extremely weary today. I’ve been seeing a biblical counselor the last several years, and in many aspects it’s greatly improved, but in others it just seems to have shifted its focus and it seems never ending. My heart is so sick. And I’m plain tired today. I’m sharing this because of the things you listed- how you felt. It’s such an awful feeling and I woke up this morning feeling sick over facing the day. 😮‍💨

This absolutely hits the nail on the head for me. Coming from a big production, full band situation in southern CA to a smaller church in Kentucky with less than half of the worship volunteers, my temptation is to feel like lower production value isn’t as affective. I’ve grown a lot in this, though occasionally the anxiety of feeling “exposed” as you’ve described still hits me.
