So this is EXACTLY what I have been experiencing.... Last year I had this exact pain on my left ankle area... I went to A&E, they did an x ray and MRI and they said to me 'they cant see anything, everything seems fine'..... While all a while , it was ANKLE ARTHRITIS for goodness sake. How did the doctors/nurses not realise this when I was telling them all my symptoms and the pain I was experiencing....? Very, very strange.
Have to go to a body part specific doc.. I just found out after getting 5 x rays saying nothing that I had a fracture in my knee that I got 10 years ago and bipartite patella a knee disease your born with. And able tendonitis after seeing my podiatrist
Burning vs soreness. I mean, it can occur even without much movement. However, climbing ladders seems to really piss it off. Lots of walking aggravates it too. Though I thought it could be a compression that's irritating a nerve, it is ONLY on the front, inside area of the ankle. Next visit to doctor, it will be discussed as it's happening more and last longer. IBPro, Cold packs help, but...

My mom's having this problem. She can't walk properly and she's 49 or 50. Im not really sure if it's ankle arthritis but now I think that is the problem. Today, she had few drops of blood even though she had her menopause already. Could this be other problem?..
@Rashtina It’s concerning that your mom is experiencing both difficulty walking and post-menopausal bleeding. While ankle arthritis could explain the mobility issues, the bleeding is unrelated to arthritis and might signal something else, such as a gynecological issue like uterine fibroids or hormonal imbalances. Post-menopausal bleeding should always be evaluated by a doctor to rule out conditions like endometrial hyperplasia or other concerns. It's best to encourage her to see a healthcare provider to address both symptoms and ensure she receives the right care.
@Salmoney23 Ankle arthritis can indeed be frustrating, especially when it affects your ability to enjoy activities like basketball or football. Arthritis in the ankle can develop due to wear and tear, previous injuries, or other underlying conditions. Symptoms may include pain, swelling, and stiffness, which can make physical activities challenging. It’s important to consult with a healthcare professional to get a proper diagnosis and treatment plan. Treatment options may include physical therapy, medications, or lifestyle changes to manage symptoms and improve joint function.
Tendonitis and arthritis are both conditions that can cause ankle pain, but they involve different parts of the body and have different causes. - **Tendonitis** is the inflammation of a tendon, which is the tissue that connects muscle to bone. It's often caused by overuse, injury, or repetitive movements. Symptoms typically include pain, swelling, and tenderness around the affected tendon, often worsening with activity. - **Arthritis**, on the other hand, is the inflammation of a joint, which includes the cartilage, joint lining, and bone within the joint. In the ankle, arthritis can cause pain, stiffness, and swelling, and it might worsen over time or with activity. The most common types of arthritis are osteoarthritis, which is due to wear and tear, and rheumatoid arthritis, which is an autoimmune condition. While both conditions can cause pain and swelling, tendonitis is related to the tendons and often occurs due to acute or repetitive stress, whereas arthritis affects the joints and can be a chronic condition.
@titasacharjee6538 Experiencing ankle arthritis 18 times by the age of 26 is significant and suggests chronic issues that may require more intensive management. Repeated arthritis flare-ups in the ankle could be due to underlying conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, previous injuries, or joint instability. It’s important to work closely with a healthcare provider, potentially a rheumatologist, to explore treatment options, including medications, physical therapy, or even lifestyle adjustments to manage pain and prevent further joint damage. Early and effective management is key to maintaining mobility and reducing long-term impact.
