You can still pre-order it here and take advantage of Samsung's usual deals: howl.link/skt95qb5iubhl 🏖I am on holiday right so apologies for the lower quality today! But hope you enjoyed it anyway🥰 Today I decided to answer some of your questions and talk about why I think the Galaxy Z Fold 6 has great potential for me. Have a lovely day 🙏🏼
I love the form factor of the current size and width of the outer display. It makes using the phone one handed much easier, but at that price point I expect more features like the s24 ultra cameras, built in spen, and allowing the spen to work on the outer display. If they add those it will be worth the almost 2,000 price tag.
Got my fold 6 and love it. I stopped using the fold 5 because the front screen was awful and cramped. This feels just right for me and the front screen feels… normal.
Got mine on Friday, the first 24hrs I was left unsure I had made the right choice. I went from ultra series s22. The front screen is a tarde off for sure, however I used it today in London and using maps, camera, translate and video watching is great. That was worth the trade off.
The more I use the fold the more I like it, I think it’s definitely a device that can be as non-intrusive as a small phone, but an absolute beast when we push it
I'm sorry Alex but leaving apple isn't hard. It's a mindset. It was definitely hard for me, but I’ve been with Apple since forever so a lot of my stuff was in the ecosystem. I don’t disagree with you, especially when it comes to the iPhone and iPad but it’s certainly more difficult to leave the more Apple services and devices you have
@@AlexGTech i totally understand where you're coming from. It makes my stomach turn The Way people praise apple, and we both know that the iPhone is pretty much useless without the rest of the apple products. But hey, if it works for you that's all that matters.
@@AlexGTech Can it really work switching to the Samsung S24 Ultra or Fold 6 when for me it's about the Apple TV, AirPods Pro, and Apple Pay. Thank You!
Yeah I was confused when that was stawd because as 1st time android user. Leaving the apple ecosystem. Coming from an iPhone 12 apple watxh and airpods to galaxy z flip 5 was super seamless actually. Smart switch worked well for me. And I just had to din new apps to sub my apple ones. For example apple music. I started using RUclips music. I had to re add my music but I wouldn't consider that hard
The challenge in few countries is to find a store buy one and find a service center when things go south. My life lesson is if you're putting effort to find and buy a phone, good luck with getting it serviced when you have to! Samsung in most countries is the known devil...
@@AlexGTech the vivo has some advantages too but comparing them the fold 6 wins with software, display quality, haptics, speakers and I think slightly more premium design
The screen size is nice 🔥! It makes u want to open the phone when chilling or on leisure time. When I tried the Pixel Fold I hardly opened it up because the front screen was wide. Samsung is doing it right.
I have to agree, I like the front display for quick access and less distractions but when chilling or working, opening it gives me so much joy! Awesome device
I have the fold 5 and now the fold 6. The new size of the front screen is way more comfortable, but I feel that the phone is a bit more uncomfortable to hold with one hand when open and it kind of feels a bit more heavy due to the phone leaning a bit more and yes I know that it's lighter. Might just be me but I feel that the colors are a bit more muted and a bit less sharp. The screens are great, but again, I just feel like the colors do not pop as much.
Exactly why I'm keeping my S24 Ultra and got a global honor magic V2 to scratch the foldable itch. I have the s pen, have great battery life and fast charging. The z fold looks great, Samsung knows what they're doing but I don't think I could use that phone as my everyday
Hopefully they'll keep this compact and small form factor for a long period. The hinge, the inner screen, I love the aspect ratio, it is just perfect, look even cooler if u use it in landscape mode. If they want a bigger form factor, they just need to create a different device without touching this one. The only thing they need to improve is their battery tech and camera.
Just got my Z Fold6 on Friday, it's the "exclusive" White with 1TB storage. I traded my Fold5 mostly because I prefer square edges. I knew the phone didn't have leaps and bounds of upgrades, just minor refinements. But I love the refinements they settled on!
Larger battery and better camera Yes, but wider screen is not a must since there are people who prefer narrower screen like this RUclipsr you are watching. I also prefer a bit narrower screen compare to the Chinese versions since I like using Sony Xperia 21:9 narrow series
Got mine on Thursday and really like it... more than I thought I would. There's still some things I'd fix if it were up to me but it may steal me away from the OnePlus Open.
They're giving me 1200 for my fold 4... I'm definitely trading it in, will never go back to regular phones as long as folding phones are still being made. My fold 4 has fallen out of my deer stand many times and lol I do tons of ice fishing mn with the negative Temps and the phone has never let me down, lol just don't open the fold on really cold days it don't like it haha
For me the biggest thing is being able to have different set ups on my inner and outer screen. The Z fold is the only one e able to do that i returned my one plus due to its Inability to do it (among other things).
This is overhyped. Many people never use the extra Fold software features and I would argue that OnePlus multitasking is superior than the Fold, having three dynamic windows. Much more useful than having different setups especially as the Fold front display, at least on my Fold4 made it very inconvenient.
microSD card slot would be nice and easy to implement due to the giant sim tray they already have in there. An IR blaster on the camera module would be nice and built in Spen. Thinner than normal one would be fine since you can’t have a giant space in there in case you drop the phone when Spen out. Comprises the durability. A flagship S Ultra series camera would be icing on the cake.
Yeah I do think Samsung are less afraid of bringing in another model to cover that market gap, let’s see what they will come up with. For now this is for me the best option
Got my crafted black Fold 6 Friday as a trade of my Fold 3. The very 1st thing I noticed was how the textured back gripped my fingers instead of feeling like a wet bar of soap, like my Fold 3. 2nd was how slimmed down it was and 3rd was how much lighter it felt. I can honestly say that aside from wanting the SPen to work on the front cover display, the Fold 6, like all of your videos, is a premium experience! I am in the slender is better camp and delighted that Samsung has not relented to those wanting a wider screen. I hope when they widen the cover display, they do variants, similar to the different sizes of their premium S line of phones and tables, with different sizes, including the current aspect ratio. I also prefer the size and feel of the SPen size I used with my Fold 3 and was glad it still worked on the Fold 6, and that Samsung didn't force me to purchase a new one, to get all ithe phone's new features, unlike another premium phone manufacturer 🍎.
Completely agree on the textured craft black, I am almost tempted to go caseless. I also like the narrow front display, feel like the few extra mm is now just wide enough.
Coming from the Note 20 ultra, i really like the size when folded. It actually fits in all my pockets where my old note was way too big and more susceptible to dropping because it hung out of my pocket, also I can actually type with one hand and not feel like my phone might drop. And if I want a tablet experience, I'll just open it up
@porscheoscar it feels solid. i have not felt like it will drop once since I've had mine. I'm probably not going to get a case as I have insurance, and my last phone broke with an otterbox on, so I find it a waste of money to buy a case, not saying it's not worth but from my experience and feeling with this phone i don't need one for it because I feel confident holding it compared to the massive note/24 ultra size
The slower charging is what really holds me back. I can't justify giving up my s24 ultra with battery life and charge speed. I really like the fold but I returned the one I had because of the battery
Wow, great video, Alex ! Until they fix camera software (basic things like shutter lag, colors, HDR, processing...), I'd never consider buying any Samsung.
I’ve only tried for a short while, my own arrives soon so I will do a full review of it. For me, I’m looking forward to not wearing a watch to sleep 👊🏼
All I need from Samsung's fold is: -When closed, have the screen size of the S24 ultra -Best cameras aby phone can offer -12 hour battery life (active use) If they can charge outrageous prices for the same phone every year, it's only fair that we ask for the best ANY phone can offer, no less
100% agreed, the price increase in my country was pretty high (106 USD) when comparing aZ Fold 5 256gb - Z Fold 6 256gb base. No upgrades to battery, charging speed, proper cameras and wider screen makes it feel like Samsung is purposely withholding these upgrades (so they can use it in future models, ala Apple) and the fact that it doesn't even come with a charging brick adds insult to injury. Excellent device, beautifully crafted and a mature software makes it the best choice foldable by far. But the lack of major feature updates with a price increase makes it difficult to stomach.
when the Oneplus open was announced, I thought, yep that'll be the better folding form factor. but I proved myself wrong. there are always people who wanted that aspect ratio for Samsung fold, but to me, the current form factor makes a lot more sense. if you need a bigger screen just unfold, otherwise the outer display is so much better for one-hand operation. I think they're right, better to create a new product "fold slim/ultra" instead of changing what is now established. fold 7 should at least address the camera(for the camera-nagging users), crease(for me personally), and maybe a few mm thinner. meanwhile, they can go wild with fold slim/ultra.
Absolutely! I think this design is pretty settled now and making it thinner, lighter with better cameras is probably a good roadmap for it, with an Ultra coming in to fill that market gap for Samsung
It doesn't do more than my S24 ultra and just isn't worth the upgrade, yes i would absolutely LOVE the bigger display for work, but that alone isn't enough to give up the ultra with the S pen and great cameras, great battery.
I don't care much about charging brick, but it should come with an S-Pen in the box. That way, they also encourage new Fold users to try out S-Pen and drawing features.
I can live with keeping the overall form factor narrower but I need to see them add S Pen functionality on the outer screen if I am going to keep supporting the ZFold phones going forward. As far as cameras go my Zfold5 produced pictures that rival my S24 Ultra. Granted I'm no camera expert but I have been very disappointed in the camera performance of my S24 Ultra which is why I chose to trade it in for the ZFold6. Mine is due to be delivered tomorrow and I can't wait to begin using it.
Took the leap and watching this on my new Fold 6. Had the Fold 4 and hated it. Too heavy, too narrow, too gap(py)... they really fixed everything with the 6. The weight is perfect. Even closed, I forget it's a foldable phone. It is so easy to type on compared to the SG23U. I'm still glad for the initial launch price deals. True, having a HomeKit home doesn't work, and I miss access to the cameras and doorbell. But those will be changed in time as new Matter devices come out.
Also coming from the fold 4, I didn't hate it, but to the points you made, it was time, was getting tired of the brick in my pocket and charging it 3 times a day. I agree did great with the 6, very pleased, worthy upgrade .
Software, software & security updates, trade-in and local resell value, local support, brand presence in terms of stores and repair shops, etc. Is what keeps me with the fold. Sure trade in value of any foldable is terrible. But good luck finding a place that will trade in a chinese phone. Also, you may find more places that take samsung trade ins and provide trade in boosts. Regular software updates can't be overlooked. I remember when samsung was bad with that and everyone complained about it. Now that they are among the best, no one seems to care about updates. Local support when your phone gets damaged is also important. I am not saying Samsung support is the best, but at least you will get there eventually. I hesitate to believe the Chinese phones will do better in this regard. You may pay less for a chinese phone, but i often get samsung insurance packaged for one year free. Granted, i have not owned a chinese phone. But i get the idea that to get the best value from it, you will have to keep it 2 to 3 years because you will likely struggle to sell it for an acceptable price, you then require regular security and software updates. I agree that the hardware seems far superior. But, personally, i need the other elements as well.
It's true that (in my opinion), the external screen of the Galaxy Fold is still missing 2-3mm of width to be perfect (the same width as an iPhone X/11 Pro), a better main sensor, a 64mp sensor like the OnePlus Open/12 for zoom, and especially 400-500mAh of battery 🔋 capacity, but on the other hand (apart from Huawei/Honor), the size (thickness) of the competitors' photo blocks is really too imposing, almost as thick as the smartphone itself 🤷🏽♂️ Ps: in fact, the form factor of the Fold 6 is currently almost perfect, except that, the internal screen is not 100% safe and you are not immune to unpleasant surprises. The advantage of Folds like the OnePlus Open, Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, and especially Honor Magic V3, is that in case of accidents with the internal screen, you have a completely and normally usable smartphone, and in this, the Honor Magic V3 is indeed the perfect form factor for Fold. 🙏🏽
When I got my first iPhone. I makes sure I used apps that are available on android too. So I don’t get stuck with Apple. So for me the switch is not that hard. Only hard part are my contacts
Every year the same things will be said by reviewers,'this chipset is better than last year's, it's faster, it's more productive, camera is better etc etc etc, suppose if you want to know the definition of infinity, it's reviews
My Portuguese friend once told me that 'Muto trabaryo buka de niro excuse murder' meant something along the lines of 'too much work, little money' in the Portuguese language a long time ago.
Hey Alex, I’m a bit late to the party haha but I have to agree with you-the Fold 6 is nearly perfect! I absolutely love mine, and as a lifelong Apple user, it was a tough choice for me. I was definitely skeptical, but wow, this device is stunning to look at and use. My only complaint is that I wish the battery life could be just a bit better, but other than that, I’m loving everything about it!
Enjoy your holiday in Portugal, Alex & family. 🇵🇹 I visited Lisbon years ago and had a tour of Benfica’s football stadium. Wanted to do the same at Sporting Lisbon but they didn’t seem to offer any tours! 🙄
I considered another foldable, but One UI, the s pen, and Galaxy ai make this phone worth it. As someone who is trading in their S24 Ultra for this, I'm looking forward to the narrow outer display.
The phone front SCREEN DO NOT NED TO BE WIDE!!! That a stupid decision. U get a big screen when you open it! Its the perfect size to text and do simple task
From one regular dude to another- you seem like a super cool guy. Anyways, thank you for the video. I haven't owned a foldable before, but I got an insane trade in deal for a Fold 6. It should be here tomorrow. I'm pretty excited, even if they do release a cooler fold 6 ultra or something later this year lol.
@@AlexGTech I got it in the Silver Shadow color. I liked the materialistic look of it a lot. It should be delivered within the next couple hours, and I'm going to stay up waiting for it after working a 12 hour shift last night lmao. I'm genuinely excited, and I'll update later with my opinions!
Looks like a great device! Issue for me is that it doesn't have Samsung's best camera which then begs the question as to whether it is their flagship or not, and at that price, it should be. Have fun in the sun, pal!
With phones topping out at 1 terabytes I definitely don't feel the need to expand my storage. As far as being able to pull files off the phone with an external drive, well android phones have had that capability for years.
Love my Zfold6 , best out there , got shot of the iPhone s , so much more to do with this , Even the New iPhone is backward .... the Ai is amazing and with my Ultra Watch
Looking forward to that rumored Fold Ultra for now. This almost feels like a prototype step towards that. Bought the Buds Pro 3 and the GWatch Ultra instead.
Forget AI... what we really need is 'solid state' batteries for many days of usage between charges and above all; micro-LED displays (not mini-LED which is worlds apart different) to make eventual screen burn (the elephant in the room) a thing of the past.
I still stand by my opinion that if you are charging $2000 for a foldable, you have to give the best cameras, best displays, best speakers and a built-in S Pen. Also, the display of the Fold 6 can’t even display true blacks. Keep it side by side to an S24 ultra and you will be shocked how good the S24 Ultra display is and that is a big trade-off for me in terms of color accuracy on the foldable because the display can never be as good as a physical glass display technology.
@@AlexGTechit launched last week in China...global perhaps in a few months. The xiaomi mix fold 4 just launched as well..both of these will give the vivo x fold 3 pro a run for the money!
Why would Samsung design a phone with such a big beautiful screen which is perfect for all types of drawing and editing, but not include a slot for an S pen? 🖊️ 🤦🏿♂️ Somebody make it make sense.
@@AlexGTech Maybe internationally. The Z Fold 5 was still $1799 all the way up until the 6 launch. Best Buy still selling it for $1799, even Amazon has it for $1799 (New). While there are some refurbed options, the price doesn't seem to come down much... Love the content though, great work!
I got $900 plus $170 instant credit for my 2021 Fold 3 with the free 512GB upgrade. No brainer. The U.S. price before discount was $2,020 so $950 out the door and Samsung provide comprehensive insurance (means theft and Loss is included including in addition to the accidental damage) for $14 a month which is lower than my carrier who just raised their insurance to $18. So basically I bought my Fold 3 from my old carrier for $1,000 after 3 years of bill credits and Samsung bought it back for $1070. 😂 Sort of... LOL. But seriously now... what is Apple going to sell you that comes anywhere close to all this for $950 with 512gb, 12 GB RAM, a processor that matches within a tenth of a second app launching vs. the latest and greatest iPhone processor AND a 4,400 mAh battery??? I nearly fell out of my chair laughing when I saw the new iphone pricing with some embarrassing specs in the year 2024. "Yesterday's tech at tomorrow prices ". And sure the Android competition going up against Samsung are easily beating those Fold 6 specs now but is the build quality and software there? And of course you don't get Dex the best Android accessory of any phone. I will not buy any phone that doesnt have something on the level of Dex. My only gripe is that Samsung made the weird call of putting a 5,000 mAh battery in the S24 Ultra but not the Fold 6. That's a big battery upgrade worth an additional 7 hours of video play back. At this point all the Samsung top tier Galaxy phones should have 5,000 mAh as a selling point. Or at least offer "Max" version of each phone for an extra $100 for power users that matches the battery on S24 and maybe throw in 16 GB RAM and some unique color or finish like that old Note 10 Plus "Aura Glow" that looked like the back of a DVD 💿. I also received my Buds Pro 3's which also came with an aggressive $100 off trade in for my Pro 2's which is basically what I paid for them last year with another trade in for my nearly 2 year old beans. They threw in the official case for the Pro 3 buds which is the first case I've ever seen that doesn't look like a case 😅. The big selling point for me is the crazy good call quality I saw on some tests. Then come to find out they have some insane battery 🔋 that will apparently go over 20 hours for audio listening if you have noise canceling turned off. I testing that claim now but overnight I forgot to put them in the case and they were still powered up when I noticed they were still on the table. As far as sound quality to compare I have both Sony XM4 and XM5 buds, the Samsung Pro 1 and 2, the Bose QC 2, the Soundcore Liberty Pro 3 (Most underrated buds ever), some Chi Fi iems like the planar 7hz Timeless... I literally use all of them... and I would say 99.9 of the average consumer would not be able to tell the difference between the Galaxy Pro 3 and my Sony XM5 which I consider the best all-rounder premium buds. Especially with the EQ adjustments on the Wear app. It's becoming a diminishing returns game when it comes to top level sound quality. Higher pricing has to deliver build quality, battery life, ANC, multipoint connection and call quality. P.s. I canceled my Ultra 7 watch order after I chewed on the fact that the display, display size and intenrals were basically the same as the regular Watch 7. I couldn't get my head around paying $350 for the Ultra after trade in for my Wach 4 classic 46mm LTE ... vs as little as $80 for the Watch 7 bluetooth after trade in...for basically 90% the same watch. I mean is an upgrade from 450 mAh battery to 600 mAh in a smartwatch really worth paying nearly 400% more? And the size of the Ultra really something you have to think about for a daily wearer.
That’s an incredible deal you got there, great to hear! And great point about the Buds 3 Pro too. I actually brought those two here on holiday (the Sony and the Buds) and you can guess which one has been used the most, and which hasn’t even left the bag yet 😂
Yes, in the US my conclusions are different due to the predatory trade-in prices (loss-leaders to take sales away from rivals) meaning great deals like yours. But in the UK, trade-ins and deals are poor, trade-ins less than eBay (e.g. Samsung trade-in for Fold5 for £550; cost £1750 a year ago). So its an easy pass in the UK for me as I am not paying £2000 for a foldable with sub ultra flagship cameras.
Interesting review because you just get straight to the point 👍 In short, this phone is not going to happen for me. I am sure for many, they will love it, but I just dont. There are lots of reasons, but i am keeping it simple today 😂 Have a fab holiday... 😃🏖
It should be 6.5 front and 8 main and a space for an s pen and it would be perfect.. Rumor is something trike that is coming later this year.. I think that's gonna be the fold 7 next year when they start selling in the states.
@@AlexGTech Actually phonearena wrote an article in which they state that all foldable phones have just average sounding speakers and that the iPhones have a clear advantage in terms of audio. That article is already on their website and is dated to within the last month. But your reviews help us to decide.
Thanks Alex for the well rounded video. I did get tempted to trade in my fold 5, but after testing and feeling it in a nearby showroom, decided not to go ahead even though there are trade in deals now. I am more into pixel fold this year as it is launching for the first time in Australia.
Can’t blame ya! From the Fold 5 is always going to be a tough sell I think. Hope some of the new AI features do come to the Fold 5 too, don’t see why they wouldn’t
Most of the chinese folds absolutely destroy samsung hardware wise and price wise but their software can be a bit....well not as refined ( ut definitely getting better).
Yes, I got the Honor Magic V2 for £1200 (no trade-in) with a free set of £350 headphones. The Fold 6 with 16GB/512GB (my V2 spec) would be £1900. I also got a charger and free case. Add those to the Fold6 and you see how poor value the Fold is. The Honor was a Global release.
@2:53 I've been using Samsung devices for the past 7 years now but I still can't get myself to like and buy the fold series like what DannyPS17 mentioned it's very far from perfection... Very weird aspect ratio, obvious crease and and quite an inferior camera set up. I also agree that the honor magic V3 is the best foldable smartphone out there I like everything about it and would definitely get it in a heartbeat except.... It's not available in my country 😢.
I traded in my 15 Pro Max. Apple has just gotten boring to me so I’m gonna give this a shot. Wish me luck luckily I don’t have a lot of Apple products just AirPods, which I traded in to Samsung for the galaxy buds pro 3
I understand that the AI features are ported from Gemini AI and Samsung has paid Google for sole rights for a while so they can use them to market their phones. These will all come to Android and iPhones when the deal ends. Samsung did that with Corning anti-glare for the S24U. Its great marketing; if you have little to offer, pay for exclusive rights to third-parties to make your phones look better. I would not necessarily fall for this.
I went from iPhones to a Fold 5. I don't understand the desire for a wider screen on the front. I'm not buying a foldable device to spend my time on the cover screen. The cover screen is for quick tasks. Swipe to text a message back, check a notification. Maybe scroll through social media. When a Fold becomes too wide to hold and operate with one hand while closed, I think we're missing the mark.
Actually when you pay $2000 for a phone you expect both displays to be A+ and listening to people defend Samsung by saying you should use the inner display, is rather condescending. I pay $2000, I want a great front display experience. The rest of the foldable market has it spot on, but sadly Samsung seems only keen on preserving their current fanbase rather than pushing for people like me that want a wider front display.
My conclusion: the staple Galaxy Fold fans will be in the comment section loving this, but it offers nothing objectively better to attract those of us sitting on the sidelines. Maybe Samsung just wants to mine its hardcore fans rather than risk them for the chance of a wider audience? But for me, this offers nothing above the Fold 5 that would tempt me away from my Magic V2. In fact, with the price and low-ball deals, it reinforces my purchase decision to buy the V2. No Fold for another year and I expect that will be echoing all over the world.
It was hard for me to leave the Samsung ecosystem but once I started sending them copy Apple ecosystem I’m like let me give it a shot now I ready to come back to Samsung ecosystem but I have too many Apple products and I just can’t leave like that. also Samsung hasn’t made no phone to catch my full attention. I like to watch a little but as far as phone nothing yet bring back the note.
Hi Alex. Great video. I've been on iPhone since 2011. Just bought the s24. Do you know how to get my timers to stay on the lock screen? I can't figure it out. Not just the icon but the actual countdown timer. Thanks
Hi there, when I start a timer it goes into a pill-shaped area almost like the Dynamic Island on the iPhone. Maybe you’re using a different launcher, that could be blocking that? It should just happen by default
I left Apple 4 years ago and have not looked back, I have to use an Iphone for my work phone and hate it, Android is so much better. I was a total Apple freak owned every Apple device would not let anyone say anything negative about them, wow how I have changed.
I am not sure why you could hate any smartphone. There may be things Android does differently but hating something that is different seems a bit strange. You prefer Android and that is great, but hating an iPhone seems OTT.
@@andyH_England Maybe hate was the wrong word I strongly dislike Apple smartphones as in the OS and restricted way you have to use them Android gives you so much more freedom, I still like Macs but just not compatible with Android.

🏖I am on holiday right so apologies for the lower quality today!
I want the Fold to continue with this same front screen width (closed). It is much better to handle this equipment with one hand.
The more I use the fold the more I like it, I think it’s definitely a device that can be as non-intrusive as a small phone, but an absolute beast when we push it
What if we ony use front screen for a day, how much screen on time we get

Yeah I was confused when that was stawd because as 1st time android user. Leaving the apple ecosystem. Coming from an iPhone 12 apple watxh and airpods to galaxy z flip 5 was super seamless actually. Smart switch worked well for me. And I just had to din new apps to sub my apple ones. For example apple music. I started using RUclips music. I had to re add my music but I wouldn't consider that hard

I have a strong theory that if the vivo X Fold3 Pro had the software of the Z Fold 6, it would sell like hotcakes!
Fold 6 still does some stuff better
I honestly put a lot of value into OneUI 6, and I can imagine how others would be even better with it
I agree, much more mature in my opinion
The challenge in few countries is to find a store buy one and find a service center when things go south. My life lesson is if you're putting effort to find and buy a phone, good luck with getting it serviced when you have to! Samsung in most countries is the known devil...
@@AlexGTech the vivo has some advantages too but comparing them the fold 6 wins with software, display quality, haptics, speakers and I think slightly more premium design
I prefer foldables to be one hand dwvices when closed and two hand devices when open. A 21:9 or 16:9 ratio would be ideal while closed.
This is the reason why the width of the Fold 6 outer screen is perfect and why I chose it over the other foldables currently in the market.
Which company are you using the Honor Fold on?
@@jermainemouzon4909 T-Mobile

How does Goodlock run on the new Galaxy Z fold 6.
Traded in my pixel 8 pro for this and it's my first foldable. This is the best phone I've ever purchased. The outer screen is perfect for me.
Amazing right?! Glad you enjoyed it 🙌🏼 have been a fan since Fold 4, such a classy phone
Just got my Z Fold6 on Friday, it's the "exclusive" White with 1TB storage. I traded my Fold5 mostly because I prefer square edges. I knew the phone didn't have leaps and bounds of upgrades, just minor refinements. But I love the refinements they settled on!
hey, Alex how was the phone quality you are probably the only youtube that mentions phone calls?i use phone calling more then texing
it comes with screen protector on the inside ?
Yes. If it comes off Samsung replaces it for free!
Yes sir, same as before it feels like
The Samsung Fold needs to have a bigger and wider screen, bigger battery and better cameras.
Yep
Yesss
Larger battery and better camera Yes, but wider screen is not a must since there are people who prefer narrower screen like this RUclipsr you are watching.
I also prefer a bit narrower screen compare to the Chinese versions since I like using Sony Xperia 21:9 narrow series
L.
No. I love the screen as is
Which ones have the better cameras?
On a side note, what are those sunglasses in the video?
Got mine on Thursday and really like it... more than I thought I would. There's still some things I'd fix if it were up to me but it may steal me away from the OnePlus Open.
Awesome!
How do you like the cameras
They're giving me 1200 for my fold 4... I'm definitely trading it in, will never go back to regular phones as long as folding phones are still being made. My fold 4 has fallen out of my deer stand many times and lol I do tons of ice fishing mn with the negative Temps and the phone has never let me down, lol just don't open the fold on really cold days it don't like it haha
Wow!! That’s a great deal
What makes the software better than the one plus or the mi fold
For me the biggest thing is being able to have different set ups on my inner and outer screen. The Z fold is the only one e able to do that i returned my one plus due to its Inability to do it (among other things).
@@redstang70 that's not a big thing for me because the small screen on zfold has so many flaws.
And if I want a tablet experience, I'll just open it up
@@elitegold4805 i came from the note 20 ultra too when I went to the fold 4, completely agree
@ShaunaMorgan that's cool but what kind of person totes around a $2k phone with no case!! That's like running with red hot scissors on a soapy floor
Until they fix camera software (basic things like shutter lag, colors, HDR, processing...), I'd never consider buying any Samsung.
thanks Stevan! I do think once the cameras are superior these will be even harder to beat
The resort gear you're wearing has you looking relaxed lol

@@AlexGTech Yes, please
I noticed you have a Samsung ring. Please tell me if it's useful to use?
I’ve only tried for a short while, my own arrives soon so I will do a full review of it. For me, I’m looking forward to not wearing a watch to sleep 👊🏼
All I need from Samsung's fold is:
-When closed, have the screen size of the S24 ultra
-Best cameras aby phone can offer
-12 hour battery life (active use)
If they can charge outrageous prices for the same phone every year, it's only fair that we ask for the best ANY phone can offer, no less
If they where cheaper it would be easier to decide. I got the note 20 ultra and I'm gonna stay with that till prolly fold 7 or 8
I do get that S-Pen point, really wished Samsung had that built-in with this model
Amazing how that Note 20 Ultra lasted well!
Nice video enjoy your holiday Alex 😊
I almost purchased the new fold, but I got cold feet at the last minute. In more practical terms, I think I would appreciate the razr flip. 🤷♂️
Fair enough, it’s definitely quite an investment
2 totally different types of phones, definitely want to make the right choice, size vs function
I don't care much about charging brick, but it should come with an S-Pen in the box. That way, they also encourage new Fold users to try out S-Pen and drawing features.
I do wish the same. The case with the S-Pen is nice but I actually like to use the fold naked sometimes
Great video !
100%! Those updates will make even the Fold 4 and 5 perform well for a few more years and like you said, shouldn’t be overlooked 👊🏼
It's true that (in my opinion), the external screen of the Galaxy Fold is still missing 2-3mm of width to be perfect (the same width as an iPhone X/11 Pro), a better main sensor, a 64mp sensor like the OnePlus Open/12 for zoom, and especially 400-500mAh of battery 🔋 capacity, but on the other hand (apart from Huawei/Honor), the size (thickness) of the competitors' photo blocks is really too imposing, almost as thick as the smartphone itself 🤷🏽♂️
Ps: in fact, the form factor of the Fold 6 is currently almost perfect, except that, the internal screen is not 100% safe and you are not immune to unpleasant surprises.
🙏🏽
*AWESOME!*

3. Crease
4. Battery life
5. S pen
6. Durability
7. Ip rating
8. Price
9. Dex mode
10. Charging

Issue for me is that it doesn't have Samsung's best camera which then begs the question as to whether it is their flagship or not, and at that price, it should be.
Have fun in the sun, pal!
Totally! The cameras for me don’t even need to be on par with the latest but definitely need to be better
I wish I could trade 13 pro max and iPad Pro 10.5inch at same time for the fold 6
With phones topping out at 1 terabytes I definitely don't feel the need to expand my storage. As far as being able to pull files off the phone with an external drive, well android phones have had that capability for years.
Fair point, I still think storage can raise the price quite a bit which makes sense for some people but not if you’re looking to sell/upgrade soon
@@AlexGTech I'll admit, it's annoying how little value Android devices retain even only after a few months on the market 😤

how wide the body is is perfect i think they still can add .5mm in there lol
Totally! I prefer it like this but not too much wider
Looking forward to that rumored Fold Ultra for now. This almost feels like a prototype step towards that. Bought the Buds Pro 3 and the GWatch Ultra instead.
Not sure there would be a global version
Forget AI... what we really need is 'solid state' batteries for many days of usage between charges and above all; micro-LED displays (not mini-LED which is worlds apart different) to make eventual screen burn (the elephant in the room) a thing of the past.
I still stand by my opinion that if you are charging $2000 for a foldable, you have to give the best cameras, best displays, best speakers and a built-in S Pen. Also, the display of the Fold 6 can’t even display true blacks. Keep it side by side to an S24 ultra and you will be shocked how good the S24 Ultra display is and that is a big trade-off for me in terms of color accuracy on the foldable because the display can never be as good as a physical glass display technology.
can't wait for honor magic v3

I havr zfold 5 and have been using it since i pre ordered. And i have to say the zfold6 is definitely an upgrade. Small changes but important.
You guys keep saying prices will come down, but it’s only been going up…
I mean after launch, it doesn’t take long for the price to come down
@@AlexGTech Maybe internationally.
Haha thanks Lee, always a straight shooter 😂 have a good one 👊🏼
I have an exclusive White pre order to stand out from the crowd yet the Navy is growing on me
It should be 6.5 front and 8 main and a space for an s pen and it would be perfect..
Rumor is something trike that is coming later this year..
I think that's gonna be the fold 7 next year when they start selling in the states.
I do hope Samsung brings that option later this year, it would be a great opportunity to compete even more in this space
They should make louder and richer stereo speakers.
The speakers are awesome but I’d agree, even with tweaking Dolby and EQ it still feels like it could do more
@@AlexGTech Actually phonearena wrote an article in which they state that all foldable phones have just average sounding speakers and that the iPhones have a clear advantage in terms of audio.

For the US market sure but it’s certainly not as good as Vivo fold 3 pro or most of the Chinese foldables from a value point of view
Am hearing good things about that Vivo Fold 3
Most of the chinese folds absolutely destroy samsung hardware wise and price wise but their software can be a bit....well not as refined ( ut definitely getting better).
Yes, I got the Honor Magic V2 for £1200 (no trade-in) with a free set of £350 headphones. The Fold 6 with 16GB/512GB (my V2 spec) would be £1900. I also got a charger and free case. Add those to the Fold6 and you see how poor value the Fold is. The Honor was a Global release.
@@andyH_England without a doubt Chinese foldable you can buy for normal slab prices so better value
I do like the sound of the Honor, would like to try one of them soon
I traded in my 15 Pro Max. Apple has just gotten boring to me so I’m gonna give this a shot. Wish me luck luckily I don’t have a lot of Apple products just AirPods, which I traded in to Samsung for the galaxy buds pro 3
If it had flagship camera specs it I would have bought one
I think a lot of people are in that same boat
I am thinking about upgrading my s22 ultra to the fold 6 but I love my cameras
100% with you on that!
Ui. O grande Alex está por cá! Algarve?
It should be narrow for me.
Tommorow I purchased this device
It was hard for me to leave the Samsung ecosystem but once I started sending them copy Apple ecosystem I’m like let me give it a shot now I ready to come back to Samsung ecosystem but I have too many Apple products and I just can’t leave like that. also Samsung hasn’t made no phone to catch my full attention. I like to watch a little but as far as phone nothing yet bring back the note.
Bem vindo a PT Alex!
Adoro aqui!!
@@AlexGTech adoro seu canal! Aproveita a sua estadia!
Have fun on vacation.
Thank you 🙏🏼
to switch off apple you have to just rip off the band aid.
and nobody that does ever regrets it.
Very true… It is hard though when there’s a lot of data and other devices/friends and family involved
Definitely using google photos helps escape the Apple ecosystem. RUclips music also.
absolutely! Definitely helped me. I still have a mixed ecosystem, but way less dependant on iPhone
Samsung - one step forward two steps back
How so?
True ill wait and I have fold 4
Still a beast!
@@AlexGTech thanks for responding. I get the pill shape but not on the lock screen. Just one ui launcher. I'll keep trying.
@@matsteel2292 Yes, that is a better comment; you prefer Android as it is less restrictive. I certainly cannot argue with that!
That ugly crease is still there and Scamsung did nothing to iron out the crease. I nearly bought it today but cancelled due to that ugly crease
Its actually much improved from the fold 5 (i have both)
Why are the chinese bots attacking your channel?
😂 RUclips cybersecurity working wonders
The fold 6 should've have a working front screen for the s pen, bigger battery and S25 ultra cameras. 😢
I do wonder if they will ever have same cameras as the S series
