Trump. The main issue with your review is you're thinking about these cards STILL from a current meta standpoint. +finallyanime Exactly. SO many aggro cards are going out, and ALL THESE COOL AS FUCK CONTROL CARDS? C'thun decks EVERYWHERE. BGH is getting nerfed (99%) Who knows how badly, but that favors control. Theres almost no way for aggro decks to continue now (in theory). Nothing will be too slow. Get ready for the first control meta in a while. Lets go astral communion druid deck :p
+Rocko “Kickingbabykittens” Otis exactly!! Seems blizzards wants to keep standard pretty 'honest' & we still haven't seen any summon-more-minion deathrattle minions...which is good. Probably a sign there's very few or no minions like that. If there are most likely you'll have to pay via mana or legendary rarity. I want deathwing to be a threat again.
+finallyanime Even back in beta, where the meta was extremely stagnant the whole slowness thing was relevant. Cards that do something or affect the board as soon as they are played are always going to be better than cards which take a turn to do something. That way at least you get some value and tempo from spending all your mana on an 8 drop. For example, back in the day Ragnaros and Sylvanus were probably two of the most played legendaries because they affect the board state as soon as they come in. Rag hits something for 8 and Sylvanus threatens the opponent's board, causing them to take unfavorable trades. This is why cards like Rag, Sylvanus, Alexstraza, and others were so heavily played, while cards like Gruul and Ysera were mostly considered too slow (Ysera did see some play though, just because she is a high value card. In the end she tends to be too slow however.) Also, if your big card gets removed the turn after you played it, at least you got something out of it instead of just wasting all of your mana for nothing. Either way, it has nothing to do with the current meta, it has to do with what is traditionally good in the game. This is why a card like C'Thun, which has a large impact when it is placed, is always going to be better than a card like new Hogger, which has no immediate impact on the board state.
Well, Cthun is looking like a fun deck. Throw in a Bran Bronzebeard, Emperor Thaurissan, and a few other nice cards, it seems like it could be pretty good.
+Aard It's Trump's not-yet-proven theory that silence will be altered because the Deck Recipes don't include it, even though the deck recipes don't include tech options of any kind and are meant to be a stepping stone for new players to design decks around.

Freezing the board has serious value of it's own. If they don't have removal or silence, it puts them in a really weird position. They have to worry about playing more creatures, because you could have a flame strike or C'Thun waiting. If they do, then they HAVE to spend it. Possibly leaving them unable to deal with C'Thun. I really think this card shows potential in the right deck.
I've got to say, the editing work on this video is fucking stellar. I love trump's commentary, but what really makes his card reviews stand out from the others is the detail that's put into the visuals.
New Hogger was made to kind of counter C'Thun, which in a case of having Hogger on board when your opponent summons a C'Thun can potentially tank 18 shots. 6 + 6(2).
+MyViolador I think that also works, but wat it means here is that it doesnt matter if C'thun is in your deck or in your hand or in the field, it will get buffed anyway
+HonestQuasarEyes But say, if i make a sandwich, then to you it's "your sandwich" if you take the sandwich, it still has the same flavour. If you take your opponents cthun, it should probably be buffed the same way it would be in his deck but he wont buff your version of his card
1) Polluted Hoarder looks terrible to me, personally. 2) Corrupted Healbot I feel will be undervalued but I definitely see it having a place in a few of my decks. 3) Eater of Secrets I'm unsure about. 4) Validated Doomsayer will be good for control if you can keep it on the board long enough. 5) New Hogger looks good for control as well but fair point about 2/2s being rather weak against consecration of augmented fan of knives or Flamestrike. 6) Stand Against Darkness is extremely fair. We'll see how that one fares. 7) I love giant sandworm. It's basically a 8/8 with windfury. 8) C'Thun is going to be fun but since everyone will use it ... it'll be oversaturated. So it will be fun making a deck that combats it specifically instead of playing with it. I agree the cultist are very solid. Beckoner of Evil followed by Sun Cleric could give you an extra boost to C'Thun. Twilight Elder with Priest health boost could be nice. Klaxxi is super super good.
Hey guys, I came up with a completely original idea, put bestial wrath on the sandworm! I'm so smart! Not like Trump said it in the video or anything! Or anyone else in the comments!
I think people underestimate the value of Giant Sandworm because the meta would have evolved, with less instant card effects. The meta will slow a bit, not in the overall game pace, but in the card effects.
You're right about the "flavour" of the expansion, the old gods are lurking in your deck/hand just waiting and gaining strength ready to be unleashed it's awesome how they replicated the old gods feel into a card game
Generally when expansions hit the game, the weakest cards get moved out of the deck for better cards that are released. Since gvg and naxxramas are out, I think the new cards will fill those spaces instead of bumping silence
Also worth noting that unlike Foe Reaper, the Giant Sand Worm can kill minions and then direct 8 damage to face. This is significant because it not only develops board control, but it also establishes pressure against the opponent's life total, making it more worth the cost.
Silence's always been a BGH-like issue, which severely limits the design/balance opportunity for new and old cards. What Trump meant is that most of the neutral Silence effects (a.k.a. Ironbeak Owl) are likely recieveing a nerf, which would either be a War Song sung to them or won't do absolutely nothing if the Silence mechanic stays as strong and viable as it does at the moment.
+Marc Schwartz remember that standard gamemode will be implemented soon and all cards wont be seeing playtime unless you play the gamemode where all cards are avaliable(which i think wont be nearly as possible as standard)
+Sketch McArthur I'm assuming that he means that people are going to stop running silence with the heavy reduction of good targets for it. I could be wrong, though.
+Sketch McArthur In the deck recipes no silence is found when in the typical deck the recipes are based off of normally run silence. Giving the impression it is going away
+AoiKaze2000 Doomsayer is useful for that because it costs only 2. VD costs 5; by that point in the game it's easier for the opponent to kill. It also doesn't force them to attack it the same way. You'd do better with a Druid of the Claw, Fen Creeper, or even Abomination if you want a five drop to eat damage.
I mean, I'd call that a stupid idea but Mill is losing Healbot and Deathlord; and Control is losing Belcher, Void Caller, Death's Bite, Lightbomb and possibly Force of Nature. Who knows what we'll end up with?
BillyTheSillyWilly Oh, so I'm the pessimist for going "who knows what we'll get"; but You just assume Mill decks will get good? Because currently they're not. They might be if the format slows down, but how do you know? C'thun decks might be even faster
BillyTheSillyWilly No, idiot, listen to me. Milling a deck that's designed to be fast and minion-heavy is impossible! You'll never get them to 10-card hands when they play 2-4 cards every turn, actually at that point you'd be helping them So if that's where the meta moves Mill might even get worse
+Shadow111111 i stopped around when blackrock had been out for a few months, its just way too much work. I love the game and working to make progress but i dont want to grind for 6 hours to maybe get one or two cards i want :/
I have to admit, there is absolutely no better format than MTG's standard to add to a CCG, HS will feel so fresh. Might even come back to play for a while if I find the time to do so.
MTG's standard is the worst format in it, it costs waaay too much, there are very few good decks, and the power level of cards is at an all time low as to not "ruin" the standard format
I'm not talking about standard format applied to magic, I'm talking about standard format applied to hearthstone. Also having "very few good decks" is one of the main points of standard lol, plus MTG cards are an investment, you can buy a standard deck, and you can sell it whenever you want and get every penny back.
+Angel “wu Heibai” M. Just because limiting allowed sets according to time is more or less the only format that has been attempted doesn't mean it's the best. My alternative suggestion was to simply limit the number of different sets that can be combined in one deck, probably to something like a core set plus 2 expansions/adventures. So, someone would always be able to use their Core+Naxx+GvG deck, but if they wanted to swap in something from WoOG, they'd have to remove every card from either GvG or Naxx. This would still limit the power level of comboes, which is the main (game design) purpose of formats, but potentially allows for more variety and creativity and means that older cards with interesting but unrealised potential may eventually see some use once the right combo pieces are released.
I think validated doomsayer has potential in an aggressive or mid range deck, where you normally have board control on turn 5, the opponent will not always have enough to deal the 7 damage
People will have less reason to run silence with so many sticky deathrattle minions from Naxx gone. We'll see removal like Equality, Hunter's Mark, and BGH since you won't have to worry as much about removing an additional minion from deathrattles.
Turn 8: Bran -> 2x Beckoner -> shadowstep Bran = 8 mana C'Thun has 14/14 Turn 9: Thaurissan + whatever Turn 10: Bran + C'Thun = 9 mana deal 28 damage split to enemies Or if you can have thaurissan discount twice C'Thun during earlier turns, then you can even finish it on turn 9. Alternative: Stealth Bran much earlier with Master of Disguise - make him sticky. The rest of the combo can then be done over time quite easily. Or stealth a Twilight Elder for huge amount of C'Thun buffs (though that's VERY slow, like Shade of Nax)
+KuroroSama42 Brann is 3 mana and Beckoner is 2 mana each, that adds up to 7 mana. Then you play Emperor on turn 8 which will reduce Brann to 0 mana and C'Thun to 9. Then on turn 9 you can do the combo.
+Donquixote Rosinante VC 9/10 times it won't be an instant boardclear because it doesn't have charge. But yeah i see your point, just pointing out that it doesn't have charge. Also, why do everyone think that would be so strong? It's not much different to equality+consecration, just some minor differences in how it plays out.
so this is a review of the new cards coming out, 50 seconds in trump mentions something about removal of silence and moves on hold on, you can't just bring up something big like that and ignore it
+Edzter It's not 100% fact, it's just a theme people have been noticing. It's not necessarily being removed or anything, it's just we won't see as much.
When u use the new deck recipe for handlock, it puts in a spellbreaker instead of an ironbeak owl. This has lead many people to believe that the owl is either being horrendously nerfed or removed from standard altogether
I think of all the cards in the game should be available in the arena, the C'thun buffing cards are good enough to pick on their own, and when you happen to pick up the man himself, good for you. I think there would be absolutely no problems with that.
Corrupted healbot could work in priest. Auchenai plays could happen. Priest isn't terribly aggressive either and tends to value a large body over damaging the enemy.
I liked in your past reviews where you took risks in what you said, and most of the time you were right. Now you are just hesitant on stating your opinions ...
Yay! They made the exact card I sugested on the forum months back. I called it "Secret Eater", with exactly the stats and battlecry they actually made :) Maybe a huge coincidence though...
We cant forget that the new hogger counterpart might have some value in taunt warrior, depending on what tools they give taunt warrior in the expansion. With 8 more warrior cards to be released, you never know!
Some personal thoughts on some of these cards: Polluted Hoarder- Seems average. I see it seeing some play here and there, though not too much. Stand against darkness- Seems good, with cool potential synergies. Probably one of my favourite non-c'thun cards so far. Corrupted Healbot- It's literally +1 attack for +8 health to your opponent. This is what happens when you build a card that from the onset, you're too scared of auchenai soul priest. Even in priest, too inconsistent to be good, unless another heal-changing effect card is introduced and is good. Which I guess remains to be seen, and is possible given the expansion flavour. Eater of secrets- Yes it beats secret paladin, but no that's not a good enough reason to put one in a constructed deck. It's just kezan mystic in a different package. Not going to see play, unless some other crazy secrets come out. Validated Doomsayer- Why would you ever play this card. In a universe where this card is played, every single deck will always be running micro machine. This card would be really cool as a 5 mana 0/8 gain 8, but as is, is a complete joke. Evil Hogger- A worse grim patron. Seems to follow the fairly similar trope of many legendaries of "not viable competitive but cool flavour and might be awesome in a brawl". Also just going to make a prediction and say at least one class is going to have a completely insane c'thun deck that is going to get people clamoring for nerfs.
I want to see a joke deck appear with all the C'thun cultists but no C'thun. Will it still to the animation? If so it would be funny to see your opponent getting more and more concerned and perhaps conceding despite there being no actual C'thun.
+Gareth Rowbotham On the same track, I wouldn't mind having these C'Thun cards in Arena. The stats are normal, and if you do happen to pick up a C'Thun, hey, good for you.
***** :( Still going to do it for my own personal shit and giggles. I'll just make an average C'thun deck and then just replace C'thun with Deathwing. My opponents are going to be so confused.
Read the book- "Play to Live" this whole ancient gods story line is taken from that book. Its futuristic book about a dying guy who uploaded his consciousness to an MMORPG its very fun to read.
corrupted healbot+ aucheney - combo... Actually the card might be really good in priest. It also has synergy with light warden and holy champion and it is generally wellsuited for controlling the board and being healed up again.
My best bet at a new deck: C'Thun Rogue. Beckoner of Evil gets 2x Shadowstepped, Gang Upped etc.. Moreover, Brann Conceal might be a thing. (Brann Beckoner Shadowstep Beckonner Conceal sets up for 14/14 C'Thun with 28 dmg at battlecry. You can see where it's going.)
Looking at that giant bug at the end, I became a Doomsayer. I think C'Thun is just going to break the game. I originally thought that he would have mediocre to above-average cards for disciples. They would be strong enough to keep the game going but probably not to win it, then C'Thun would come along to kick your teeth in. Then the Klaxxi came along. That card could EASILY win a game. It's in Druid as well so, everyone, taunt up your Amber-Weaver and give it +4 attack and you're probably golden. The only reason this isn't going to be as broken and prevalent as Face Hunter was a while ago is that it's going to be fairly expensive whereas Face Hunter used a lot of basic cards.
C'Thun isnt a 15/15 when this enters the battlefield take an extra turn immune to all spells when this creature attacks destroy 6 creatures or secrets and when it dies return it to your library? lame.
There will probably be some cards that counter C'thun instead of buffing it, as well as cards that works only with corrupted cards or based in the number of corrupted cards in play.
Hope they start adding more archetypes what hearth stone rlly needed was archetypes that people can change and make there own hopefully they keep adding more
+Dire Gates some people are suggesting owl might be getting nerfed. Not sure if they have any sources, but if true then it would leave the only good silences being a couple of class cards
Hey trump, great videos. I am just starting to play this game so I started by watching your intro series 1,2,3,4 etc. however I see a lot of things have changes since the intro of the expansion. will you update how to for newbs with the new stuff? I am not even sure how to get the cards I need, make them or win them etc. thanks for any help. keep up the good videos. thanks
Am I the only one seeing a decent C'thun Rogue deck with Gang Ups and shadowsteps? Gang up your Beckoner's of Evil or C'thun himself, or shadowstep C'thun/Beckoner to make a stronger C'Thun. I'm actually pretty excited to see how this will work out.
really hoping to see some nice midrange cards for hunters this expansion, theres a lack of good midrange cards, aside from pretty much highmane and ram wrangler
Attack with Validated Doomsayer to kill something like your opponent's Emperor Thaurissan and then use Confuse. That way it may live to see an additional turn and kill ANOTHER high value target. Of course, this is assuming that it lives during that crucial initial turn. Hogger, Doom of Elwynn prevents the opposing player from throwing multiple smaller minions into him in order to kill him, meaning that he can very easily be a 6 mana 10/10 if the opposing player does not have 6 or more damage from a single source ready.
Well, I guess you learn something new every day. As a vanilla wow player from Medivh (the first server to open the gates......) I cleared AQ40 many many times in both guild and even pugs and never once heard C'Thun pronounced with the hard K. We all said see-thun. I looked it up and you are right.............11 years and I never knew.
What if you use master of disguise in rogue to stealth twilight elder? That could give insane buffs to c'thun by the time he is played if the opponent has no answer. Or what if you do the same thing with validated doomsayer? Probably less good cause you would have to do it in the late game to have the stealth before he is buffed, and there would be way better options in the late game.
I think the new hogger has way more value than most streamer are predicting. If you wanna controll the board and you dont have heavy removal or high attack minions on the board you need to play quite heavy to play around it without it spawning 3-4 2/2 with taunt.
+Robin Frey The taunt should seel the deal with the tempo, kind of. If the opponent plays a deck with lots of small minions he is basicaly screwed against that card because he cant remove it and you can spawn a 2/2 taunt every turn.
I'm curious about 2 things with C'thun: 1. What happens when my opponent Entombs a let's say 10/10 C'thun from my board, has his own one in the deck and uses a buff. Will both be effected? And will mine keep the stats he gained from my cards? 2. In a similar way, what happens if a C'thun is targeted by a Gang Up? What stats will the copies have and how will they be effected by buffs? These are obviously rhetorical questions as of now, but those things still make me wonder how they'll work out.
+Zakading Every player has a cthun counter. If you buff your cthun it won't be registered by the card itself. If you have multiple copies, they all have the stat buffs. If an enemy priest entombs your 16/16 cthun it will become a 6/6 in their deck. However, let's say he plays a Cthun deck, too, and has buffed it for 5, the entombed cthun will also have 11/11.
the stat is and aura linked to your player. this copies of the guy, like in gang up will be buffed the same. him getting stolen though...hmmmmm. my guess is that the buffs are lost, but I don't know
klaxxi amber-weaver, even if it doesn't get its battlecry off will still be fantastic because it will still be a yeti. As for yeti not seeing play, that is not because yeti is good or bad, but because piloted shredder power creeped the hell out of yeti.
+cure prirism i think c'thun is going to be like the paladin's murloc deck.. you know fairly early what you are up against.. there is no element of surprise.. you can prepare for it accordingly.. that being said tho, c'thun would have been much better if it had a "deal X damage randomly split among enemies when drawn" effect aside from the battlecry.. but i guess something like that would make the card stupid as fuck..
Does corrupted demonfuse destroy a demon and two of your mana crystals?
no, corrupted emonfuse sis summon confessor paletress, cold area drake and make your hero power cost 0
Nah, it just becomes a good card.
lol
+TheCookiezPlz Its not necessarily the opposite though
+TheCookiezPlz wouldn't it be more like destroy a demon, destroy your opponents mana crystal?
I feel like trump is so cautious about his speculation of cards after how much he fucked up with Dr. Boom.
+Rozzie “Rozwallaby” Pearson I think he's more embarrassed about calling Hunter a dead class after the Buzzard nerf.
What did he say?
from dr booms card text alone you cannot tell if its good to be fair. not sure if the boom bot card was released simultaneously
+Rozzie “Rozwallaby” Pearson and with mysterious challenger, TB was the only person to notice how horrifying it would become
+KarstenOkk Not to mention that a card that says "Boom bots might explode" sounds like it'll actually damage your own stuff.
Great video! I enjoyed all 13 seconds I've been able to see so far.
ahahahaha
Someone please explain?
Isaac Norris the video was viewable to the public for about 1 minute at the time of me commenting that

"Silence is kind of getting removed."
Huh?
Yeah, my thoughts exactly - can anyone elaborate on this?
+Aard It's Trump's not-yet-proven theory that silence will be altered because the Deck Recipes don't include it, even though the deck recipes don't include tech options of any kind and are meant to be a stepping stone for new players to design decks around.
TF2PNub Oh. I see! Thanks

New: Corrupted Trump 16 mana 0/30 "Make his plays less than 15 seconds. Does not plays on value".
For C'Thun What about gang up? Would the the extra ones be buffed 2?
Interesting
+jesse guzman Yes yes yes yes to every question similar to this. All buffs apply to your player and every c'thun you get ever will be buffed
Hay hay don't be so aggro man I got it haha thanks:p now I can make a crazy Rouge deck
+jesse guzman that was aggressive?
+FLIPPYFLOOPY no:p but it was a lot of yes's
Hi papa trump today is my birthday and i hope you have a great day today and thank you for the quality content and all of your hard work mr editor

Validated Doomsayer seems like it might be great with the freezing mechanic.
+LogicBeforeNorms that good old 8 mana, 2 cards 7\7 Kappa
+LogicBeforeNorms the problem is that it's too expensive for that, 5 + 3 equals 8 mana and if you're gonna spend 8 mana and two cards it better be gamechanging, and a 7/7 simply ain't.

I really think this card shows potential in the right deck.
+LogicBeforeNorms Alternatively, you could play regular Doomsayer and after (if) it goes off, get your 5 mana 7/7. The dream.
TheStrongestBaka You might not to waste it on a smaller board, only have one in a Reno deck, or want the seven damage to face.
I've got to say, the editing work on this video is fucking stellar. I love trump's commentary, but what really makes his card reviews stand out from the others is the detail that's put into the visuals.
18:37 Corrupted Gnomish Experimenter: "This is going to be teeeeerrrrrrible!"

+LordMatsu Grim patron is cheaper and can tank potentially infinite shots.
wtfduud
True, but unless you have 2-3 Patrons on the board, clearing a 3/3 is a lot easier to do than clearing a 6/6.
(wherever it is) that means that if a priest uses resurrect he revives buffed?
+MyViolador Apperently, yes
+MyViolador I think that also works, but wat it means here is that it doesnt matter if C'thun is in your deck or in your hand or in the field, it will get buffed anyway
what about if he is in your oponent's deck?
+ficolas2 They all specifically say "give your C'Thun..." Only yours.
+HonestQuasarEyes But say, if i make a sandwich, then to you it's "your sandwich"
if you take the sandwich, it still has the same flavour.
Hey man, didn't know you played hearthstone too. Fun versus videos by the way.
I'm a fan of Heartstone and quality RUclipsrs. Trump is the perfect mix of the two. And thank you.
Antoine Bandele
I agree there, but it's a neat coincidence seeing you here. have fun making more versus series mate.
I was wondering when Klaxxi cards were gonna be added.
10/10 editing, you've done it again Jens
counter to c'thun play mana wraith + master of disguise in turn 9
+Ismael Hernandez he can still emperor it
+Ismael Hernandez Would be hilarious if the opponent used his Emperor for something else
+Ismael Hernandez Nerubian Web lord the card that increases battle cry cards cost
Vegekuson Gaming nerubian web lord new meta
+Vegekuson Gaming +Alexander Blixt Nerubar you scrub lords. I used Nerubar Weblord before it was cool *tosses scarf across shoulder*
I'm looking forward to seeing some crazy C'thun Brann combo on Trollden.
Bran Bronzebeard + C'Thun = gg
+ShunerRen VEVO Agreed man Imma love playing a c'thun deck
+Matthew Oh Of course you also need to set up a board that can properly support that. I am thinking that Rogue might be a deck with c'thun.
+ShunerRen VEVO Dying to every aggro deck ever that is the situation.
I have been waiting all week for this.
The meta will slow a bit, not in the overall game pace, but in the card effects.
do a guide on cards you should disenchant and the gvg/adventure cards
It's really easy, if you want to play in standard only, then disenchant, and if you want to play both or wild, then don't
I really hate making up names for this kind of stuff its so confusing lmao.
You're right about the "flavour" of the expansion, the old gods are lurking in your deck/hand just waiting and gaining strength ready to be unleashed it's awesome how they replicated the old gods feel into a card game
I dont anticipate seeing much of Dr. Boom in constructed
+Elliott Abbott Fear not, standard will fix your problems.
I loved that song at the end. It makes me pine for the simpler days of my youth
What do you mean silence won't be a thing?
Generally when expansions hit the game, the weakest cards get moved out of the deck for better cards that are released. Since gvg and naxxramas are out, I think the new cards will fill those spaces instead of bumping silence
+rotexor R.I.P. owl. Owl possibly being nerfed.
+Ultrafireknight Probably just stat nerf. 2 mana 1/1 maybe.
+borRIING Wait so owl is actually a minion? I thought it was just a 2 mana silence Kappa
In the deck recipes, the decks that should have had owl didn't have it, so there's a high chance for owl getting nerfed.
Also worth noting that unlike Foe Reaper, the Giant Sand Worm can kill minions and then direct 8 damage to face. This is significant because it not only develops board control, but it also establishes pressure against the opponent's life total, making it more worth the cost.
In the first part... Silence is getting removed? What?
Silence's always been a BGH-like issue, which severely limits the design/balance opportunity for new and old cards.
What Trump meant is that most of the neutral Silence effects (a.k.a. Ironbeak Owl) are likely recieveing a nerf, which would either be a War Song sung to them or won't do absolutely nothing if the Silence mechanic stays as strong and viable as it does at the moment.
+NikiKR That would make Tirion even more ridiculous though.
+Marc Schwartz remember that standard gamemode will be implemented soon and all cards wont be seeing playtime unless you play the gamemode where all cards are avaliable(which i think wont be nearly as possible as standard)
Tirion is part of the classic set, so it will be included in standard. Unless I'm missing something?
It's consistently run in most/all strong paladin decks, and paladins already has access to stronger individual cards than any other class.
more and more effort is going into his videos. great to see someone improving their craft.
what does trump mean when he says silence is going away?
+Sketch McArthur They might be nerfing Owl, which is the most common neutral silence
+Brian Hui how is it getting nerfed?
+Sketch McArthur I'm assuming that he means that people are going to stop running silence with the heavy reduction of good targets for it. I could be wrong, though.
+Sketch McArthur In the deck recipes no silence is found when in the typical deck the recipes are based off of normally run silence. Giving the impression it is going away
Good job on the editing.
Boy, everything's just "a bit too slow" for the notorious tempo-player speed demon Trump, huh?
+RobinHood3000 Look, when your tendency is to play at a snail's pace, you need all the help you can get to speed things up...
+RobinHood3000 Yeah, blizzard should just give all minions a battlecry so bigger, slower cards can actually do something the turn you play them.
6:00 Validated Doomsayer useful in a Mill or Control deck where you are using it to soak damage (like Doomsayer does in a deck like Natural Remedies)?
BillyTheSillyWilly Mill (in general) is a really good way to screw up most combo decks, which is what the C'Thun decks really are.
You'll never get them to 10-card hands when they play 2-4 cards every turn, actually at that point you'd be helping them
So if that's where the meta moves Mill might even get worse
I stopped with the game recently.
The grind is way too crazy and the prices are ridiculous
+Shadow111111 i stopped around when blackrock had been out for a few months, its just way too much work. I love the game and working to make progress but i dont want to grind for 6 hours to maybe get one or two cards i want :/
There's also the 7 Mana 6/6 that gives your hero 10 armor if C'Thun has 10 or more attack. It's a warrior card just announced today.
C'Thun Ramp Druid is looking pretty spooky.
Yeeeeep. I can already see how I can alter my own now.
I might update my Reno Rogue to make use of C'thun. There's a lot of good synergy in rogue to make it comboey
Pretty sure regular yeti would still see play in druid decks if shredder didn't exist...
+João Batanete yep, and since shredder is from GvG yeti will have hes comeback in constructed for sure
Giant sandworm + Beastial Wrath = Awesomeness.
I think validated doomsayer has potential in an aggressive or mid range deck, where you normally have board control on turn 5, the opponent will not always have enough to deal the 7 damage
but when will they replace the horrible bloodfen raptor art?
No u
13:13 Nice buff card I have there.. it would be a shame if... I happen to trigger it's battlecry by using brewmasters and Brann
Oh my god no
Roberto Marú >:)
Silence is going to be dead? o0
People will have less reason to run silence with so many sticky deathrattle minions from Naxx gone. We'll see removal like Equality, Hunter's Mark, and BGH since you won't have to worry as much about removing an additional minion from deathrattles.
+ceeshat In his last video he talked about a big hint to Owl being majorly nerfed.
*****
Probably, doesn't mean it'll be unplayable though.
+NecruN probably just a stat or mana nerf
Turn 8: Bran -> 2x Beckoner -> shadowstep Bran = 8 mana C'Thun has 14/14
Turn 9: Thaurissan + whatever
Turn 10: Bran + C'Thun = 9 mana deal 28 damage split to enemies
Or if you can have thaurissan discount twice C'Thun during earlier turns, then you can even finish it on turn 9.
Alternative: Stealth Bran much earlier with Master of Disguise - make him sticky. The rest of the combo can then be done over time quite easily. Or stealth a Twilight Elder for huge amount of C'Thun buffs (though that's VERY slow, like Shade of Nax)
+KuroroSama42
Brann is 3 mana and Beckoner is 2 mana each, that adds up to 7 mana. Then you play Emperor on turn 8 which will reduce Brann to 0 mana and C'Thun to 9. Then on turn 9 you can do the combo.
Avatar HA
Ah. Indeed, for some reason I thought Brann was 4 mana. Even better than my scenario!
Giant Sandworm + Bestial Wrath = Instant board clear.
taunt with divine shield=shrekt
+Donquixote Rosinante VC not if your opponent has deathwing or taddius out. or a buffed up god. or ysera. or malygos...
^^
Hell Im Done But 9/10 time it won't be.
+Donquixote Rosinante VC 9/10 times you dont give a shit about it a 8-8 that does nothing when it comes into play, especially when ur a hunter
+Donquixote Rosinante VC 9/10 times it won't be an instant boardclear because it doesn't have charge.
But yeah i see your point, just pointing out that it doesn't have charge.
Also, why do everyone think that would be so strong? It's not much different to equality+consecration, just some minor differences in how it plays out.
i really appreciate the effects and quality.
so this is a review of the new cards coming out, 50 seconds in trump mentions something about removal of silence and moves on
hold on, you can't just bring up something big like that and ignore it
+Edzter It's not 100% fact, it's just a theme people have been noticing. It's not necessarily being removed or anything, it's just we won't see as much.
+Edzter people are suspecting that Owl will be nerfed, which will likely make Silence much less prevalent in Constructed.
+Akuuntus That's what you say! Magic will not save you!
I think there would be absolutely no problems with that.
that 3 mana 3/4 roughe with stealth... hehe
+Droxal Dr. Boom prediction scarred him for life
To be fair there are so many cards that'll be gone from standard that it makes sense for him to be hesitant
Can someone explain what Trump meant by "silence is kinda getting removed?" Are they changing the mechanic or something?
Hearthstone: Heroes of Lovecraft
Yay! They made the exact card I sugested on the forum months back. I called it "Secret Eater", with exactly the stats and battlecry they actually made :) Maybe a huge coincidence though...
Water they're removing silence?
Wait
+TheTyranex I doubt it, that was just speculation.
He is talking about the meta. In the current metagame there is not enough space for silence cards in the top most popular decks.
+Sanzhar Abdirakhman He is talking about owl being nerfed.
+TheTyranex nope I don't think so but now that all op deathrattle cards are gone there's no need for silence
We cant forget that the new hogger counterpart might have some value in taunt warrior, depending on what tools they give taunt warrior in the expansion. With 8 more warrior cards to be released, you never know!
In a world where 5 mana 8/8 mech rarely sees play I can't imagine 5 mana 6/6 mech will
They fulfill different roles though. Feel Reaver was aggro whereas Corrupted Healbot is more control oriented.
Fel reaver was good if you could kill the enemy with it, but it would lose you the long game. Whereas corrupted healbot is better in the long game.
+Yotam Shitrit And the 6/6 evades BGH and doesn't let your opponent mill half your deck for free.
The C'tun cards are kinda like Iron Juggernaut, their buff of C'Tun for extra damage works like the burrowing mine.
hogger counters c'thun
Some personal thoughts on some of these cards:
Polluted Hoarder- Seems average.
Tentacle Trump, ive seen enough hentai to see where this is going...
Plus, Cthun shadow step, and Brenn Bronze beard stealthed by rogue. Just an idea.
I might try out a midrange pally that's a little bit weighted to recruits, and turn stand against darkness to a good card.
+Gareth Rowbotham we all get C'thun
FrostKnigh yup, I know. That is why an opponent would never guess that you didn't actually put C'thun in your C'thun deck.
***** :( Still going to do it for my own personal shit and giggles. I'll just make an average C'thun deck and then just replace C'thun with Deathwing. My opponents are going to be so confused.
Read the book- "Play to Live" this whole ancient gods story line is taken from that book. Its futuristic book about a dying guy who uploaded his consciousness to an MMORPG its very fun to read.
for a small loan of 50 dollars you get a new trump to win card back and 50 packs
corrupted healbot+ aucheney - combo... Actually the card might be really good in priest. It also has synergy with light warden and holy champion and it is generally wellsuited for controlling the board and being healed up again.
coin 2-3 turn 2 2-3 turn 3 whatever turn 4 4-10 k seems legit
+ratcrash Well, hey, what deck doesn't seem unfair when it draws a perfect curve?
My best bet at a new deck: C'Thun Rogue. Beckoner of Evil gets 2x Shadowstepped, Gang Upped etc.. Moreover, Brann Conceal might be a thing.
(Brann Beckoner Shadowstep Beckonner Conceal sets up for 14/14 C'Thun with 28 dmg at battlecry. You can see where it's going.)
These eyebrows of the doomsayer... it's like a ridiculous mustache on his forhead.
C'Thun isnt a 15/15 when this enters the battlefield take an extra turn immune to all spells when this creature attacks destroy 6 creatures or secrets and when it dies return it to your library? lame.
good old emrakul :P
That would be 15 mana.
+Gage Martin to simply put his text isn't "Battlecry: you win the game"
Leon Cat it was an mtg reference ;). but yeah thats pretty much what emrakul does.
Gage Martin i know what it was, and yeah, magic still has too much cards that screams "i win!"
There will probably be some cards that counter C'thun instead of buffing it, as well as cards that works only with corrupted cards or based in the number of corrupted cards in play.
EATER OF PALADINS
The good old days :,)
Gang Up C'thun?
+Garrosh Wittmer If you C'thun survives one turn you won anyway no point
Hope they start adding more archetypes what hearth stone rlly needed was archetypes that people can change and make there own hopefully they keep adding more
silence is getting removed. ROFL
+dangabbay1 I really want to hear his reasoning behind this
+Dire Gates some people are suggesting owl might be getting nerfed. Not sure if they have any sources, but if true then it would leave the only good silences being a couple of class cards
+Dire Gates It is something I'd like to hear more about!
+ChrismanRLR dont forget stealhed 3/4 with 4/4 stealth guy :)
robert chandler Maybe for once Rogue will be a pretty viable class :D
really hoping to see some nice midrange cards for hunters this expansion, theres a lack of good midrange cards, aside from pretty much highmane and ram wrangler
8:00 you actually get only 1 2/2 taunt because the other 2/2 have already taken 2 dmg from whirldwind effects
+morantNO1 Can't spawn anything when you're dead.7 mana with no fast effect is quite slow.
Trump's chair looks like there's a menacing ninja standing behind him...
Hoggerm Doom of Elwynn could be a kind of a counter against C'Thun. It could absorb up to 18 damage.
I'm curious about 2 things with C'thun:
However, let's say he plays a Cthun deck, too, and has buffed it for 5, the entombed cthun will also have 11/11.
the stat is and aura linked to your player. this copies of the guy, like in gang up will be buffed the same.
him getting stolen though...hmmmmm. my guess is that the buffs are lost, but I don't know
Hogger seems good against certain decks with lower curves as it makes trading anything with under 6 attack difficult.
Mill style rouge that uses bounce and stall to make a big cthun and then finish in fatigue with the battle cry
Giant sandworm + give imune and 2 atk for your beast this turn, gg boys, gg.
+Pedro Luiz Thats 11 mana and you'll have to play hunter.
bestial wrath its 3 mana?
Oh sorry, i was only aware of stablemaster :)
ok. =d
dont forget thaurisaan instantly makes it playable
will this cards replace the old cards or they will be new?
klaxxi amber-weaver, even if it doesn't get its battlecry off will still be fantastic because it will still be a yeti. As for yeti not seeing play, that is not because yeti is good or bad, but because piloted shredder power creeped the hell out of yeti.
It is worth noticing that c'thun is completely trackable, so your enemy can prepare for it farely well, the battlecry make it to be unstopable though
+Gino Foogle knowing does not mean you can stop it though...
cure prirism uhm yeah.. no shit.. i don't remember saying anything about stopping it.. >__>
