7:23 This right here, the split second when the character starts flying without the actual hippogryph shows you that this video was made by a true WoW lover. Incredible and relatable video.
dope af
All of his videos on any given game are written/scripted or whatever you call it by veterans who have invested thousands of thousands play time in them. That's the only thing that makes them funny and relevant to watchers, else it would be just empty animation.
Iknr! I laughed so hard when I saw that in incredible attention to detail. Wonderful moment for a long time player to watch honestly.😁😁😁👍👍
Who knows knows!
I never played alliance... did it let you fly somewhere you hadn't discovered?
I don't know what's more impressive;
Your attention to all the little details that only WoW players would notice - or your dedication to a 40 minute joke.
Hi doomsinger
The build up was real though. Countless times i have forgot to set my hearth after running 30 minutes + just to hearth and forget i didn't set my home
@@jbeard3390 It only happened once for me; I was so annoyed I never forgot again.
Yes
I agree so much to you xd
If no one get this, this is real time running to the human leveling zone within the game and the mannerisms as a player. Brilliant work!
Yep. I did this 2 times. Relatively exactly the time you need when you take the safest possible route.
Stay crunchy.
Do you know why he didnt take a second boat directly to the human capital?
@@Cryten0 i dont think that boat exists till cataclysm
Did this many times
@@Monko_pop it was actually added in WotLK. There was only 1 boat and a Flight path in BC. But they made it 3 boats in WotLK with one going to teldrassil, One to Exodar and one to Stormwind.
Love the guard in Elwynn that asks "Forget something?" Such beautiful foreshadowing.
The only inaccuracy is that the deeprun tram wasn't already leaving as she walked into the station.
I legit thought she was gonna walk in as the tram took off and have to wait for the next one.
Truthfully in my case theres a lack of /dance on the tram and boat lol...
Also didn't pick up any flight points lol
I expected her to jump while on the move and land on the final car with a scared expression.

*Crocolisk chasing after
Props to the cameraman, running along the road and risking his life to deliver this one of a kind shot
Lol riiight...I was just thinking the same thing...if someone wanted to capture this all they either were lvl capped and didn't aggro anything or they edited out all the corpse dragging.

I´d LIKE to say - "Never happened to me, genius." Buuuut... Been there done that. Not that badly, though, just a "quick" 15 minutes of walking away XD
I had my own traveller chars, starting somewhere else, far, far away, but moving to Goldshire (for Roleplay reasons, but also because I knew every nook and crannie there). Imagine forgetting to set hearth after you´ve done all THAT. OOOF. That would mean a forced break for a few hours to me. Maybe punching some pillows and howl like a mad man. The standard stuff, you know ?
@@murphieslaw6932 pretty standard
I DID THE SAME! See the Goldshire Innkeeper!
Just for fun, I would start a new 'toon and spend the whole night trying to outwit all the critters who were killing me......One night I "swam" all the way to the north end of the continent........Then I would take the deal to rez at a strange Spirit Guide. The toughest run was through the Barrens with a new Orc....
Ah man, the weird shit we do for fun.....
I call shenanigans. Noone ever catches the deeprun tram on time. It always leaves as soon as you get there.
It takes almost 1 minute (0:55) to go one route. Might aswell be a 3 minute cycle or so (2x1min + 2x30s waiting)
I was going to comment this. This must be the luckiest Night Elf I've ever seen.
since i started playing wow at the begining of TBC i have actually caught the train like that only once
it usually shows up on the other side as soon as you come in but there isn't enough time to run over and catch it
Where were all the rats in the tram area!?

Do you think the people who were hired to do the voice lines in vanilla ever thought how memorable and cherished their voices would be to millions of people?
I wonder if they themselves ever played the game. Maybe still do today.
Imagine saying something as meaningless as "RAKANISHU", only to be remembered 20 years later by all Diablo fans :D
most of them were the game devs.
I don't know about all of them, I for one could go without hearing "AH, POTENTIAL CUSTOMER" or "I GOT WHAT YOU NEED" ever again.

I'm convinced they just recorded the audio of actually doing this run and then just animated on top of it. I'm not sure what's more ridiculous - that this got made so accurately or that I sat and watched the whole damn thing and enjoyed the nostalgia (multiple times).

Bro...its wild that im really committed to watching this entire video and within 5 minutes of it you can tell its just the by the book journey to elwyn lmfao....im so mad at myself for enjoying every second of it lmfao
This hurts so much! I cannot count the times that I made this journey, because none of my friends wanted to play elves. How many times I died in the wetlands, how many times i just ran and watched the scenery go by... This video just made me homesick for a video game... 💔 Thank you so much!
Im going to tell you something that might make u feel like u wasted ur time.
But u can skip wetlands if you swim SW from menethil harbor and swim far enough into dun morogh and die to fatiege. Then u rez right next to ironforge :)
If you only knew then that your ghost can go to the next rez spot and avoid all those enemy.
And this character didn’t even die once to crocolisks, raptors, spiders snd orcs? No wonder she forgot to set a soulstone.

Yes, thought the same. Then I realized that they are meeting a friend and might want to miss the FPs so they can share the experience of acquiring them.
i made this journey with a friend who was adamant about being a night elf druid. we were a party of 4, a humans dwarf and a gnome. we made the journey to the NE starting zone to get him because he was completely new to wow. we made potions and repaired our gear for the long road ahead of us. man.....the travel itself was an adventure. i love that memory. sometimes just traveling with homies from one town to the text was just amazing itself.

My first character ever was a night elf, that music brings me so far back.
I also love that this is the actual journey you needed to take to get to elwynn back in the day. If I was a nelf hunter I stopped on the way to get gun training too.
Edit: I watched the whole thing and I'm glad I did. I knew where she was at all times by the tiny landmarks and was curious why she didn't set stone at any inns along the way lol! I lived vicariously through that little elf as I never made that run again after I got the Heirloom Chauffeur, but it was such a treat to see it again.

If you made it to the end you are a true WoW veteran and a cool person. I salute you!!!
Every time i played an alliance char i went to level up in the elven zones because of the beautiful green forests and the fantastic music. Even as an Orc player, i always did a full quest run of Ashenvale forest just to hear the beautiful music. I always had a deep respect for the night elves for making such heavenly music and i never supported the Horde's campaign to cut down the forest by not participating in the WSG battleground. Ashenvale was always my second home in WOW. :)
I sat through the entire 40 minutes for the Elwynn Forest music, and sure enough, it brought a tear to my eye 🥲
I cant wait to watch this ten years from now and cry uncontrollably.
I'll be here, crying with you
I already was at this point - only two minutes in. oO
Way ahead of you, pal ;)
I love how this game connects so many strangers across the world. We all at some point made the periless run across Wetlands to level in our favourite starter zone, such a simple nostalgic experience shared by so many. I miss you Azeroth.
The wetlands run is peak nostalgia for me 👌
It's too bad that blizzard has killed so many years of nostalgia for me. Knowing what was going on behind the scenes as the new generations of developers came into power I cannot financially support the company anymore. I am happy that I get to keep the memories
I'm torn nowadays... I appreciate that the game is more streamlined and respects your time, but the feeling of accomplishment after you spent months grinding AV to get your first purple was something else and you just can't get that nowadays when everything is so instantly accessible.
I did this only with undead in durotar.
no, WE didnt. real men play horde and nothing but horde.

Ironically with my first character a human mage, I went to Auberdine with the boat at 15 I guess, knowing warcraft 3 I wanted to see the Nelfs so bad for the first time and I level up to 30 till Ashenvale, the ambient, the forest and the music were amazing, a truly great experience.
Best decision in my WOW life.
As an old night elf player(first and only character) that leveled before cataclysm, the NE leveling experience up to astranaar will be with me till I die. I completely understand you!
although I dont play anymore BEST EXPERIENCE EVER! AGREED!
I cant believe i sat and watched that whole thing. It was amazing.
This hit me so hard it hurts. The music, the small touches. That damn run. I've never been homesick in my life, but this made me fysically hurt from homesickness. Thanks for this, I love it.
Ahh, the Menethil Run. I remember this from back in my starter days, when Burning Crusade was the latest expansion. I remember hating the mountain pass that housed a gauntlet of Dragonmaw orcs to the point that after being killed for the sixth time I lost patience with it, turned back around and headed to Menethil... And then proceeded to swim, that's right, SWIM, half the length of the Eastern Kingdoms to reach Westfall. Took me just over an hour if I remember rightly, but damn was it satisfying to finally see the vibrant greenery of Elwynn.
I'm pretty sure I made it through both versions. Sadly, the swim wouldn't have made an interesting video. :p
thats some next level shit :D
You can also swim out along the coast of wetlands, die to morlocks over there and appear in the gy near if and res sickness, but lvl 1 res sickness is just durability loss to 0 armor gear lol
So, I guess you discovered Newman's Landing on the way? I came across it and was all like "Ohhhh, secret place!!!"
Swimming... I remember swimming around the coast of Quel' Thalas after BC was released (but I hadn't bought it yet) to see how it would appear - quite useless though, of course.
And also I remember swimming (as an Orc) the coast of Stormwind to complete that achievement of fishing in both Orgrimmar and Stormwind.
For a nearly 40 minute video of mostly just a walk cycle, this was a surprisingly relaxing video that I decided to watch all the way through
Lol, it's not so relaxing when you're playing it ;)
Background game music helps a lot, with extra sounds to break things up. Works that way for me as well.
The music brought back nice memories of when the game didn't suck and there was so much potential for it.
@@akashic7348 I know your comment is a year old, but RUclips decided to remind me of this comment today for some reason. So, in regard to that as someone who has played World of Warcraft in the past, would you say that it is worth at all for a new player to get into? Because I am interested and looking for opinions
@@bobbyferg9173 I’m tempted to say no but obviously the fact that there are still people playing this game shows that a lot of people disagree. I’ve never accomplished the goal of leveling every class to max but I’ve gotten close and I can tell you that nowadays all classes feel pretty similar, they’ve dumbed them down a lot over the years. Also one of my fondest memories from vanilla is using the tailoring profession to craft myself a pretty good epic robe, but these days gear from professions is nearly useless and professions themselves kind of suck.
However in the upcoming expansion it appears as if they want to address these issues by bringing back talent trees for classes and making professions better. Only time will tell if they’ll succeed in making the game feel more like it did back then. I would recommend that you wait until at least one month after the new expansion comes out and see what the streamers (not gaming news articles) are saying about it. WoW is a subscription game and you may want to see if it’s worth your money. Because for example if you’re looking mainly for an open world RPG with quests to complete you could be better off with a single player offline game like The Witcher 3.
I watched it all. I felt it all. I am glad to see others enjoyed it as much as myself. Thank you for your content.
I was thinking "he's almost there" when you got to darkshore and then I realized "wait, this is WoW Classic, oh man this is gonna be long". Loved every step of it.
Well it's Burning Crusade (see the draeneï on the ship) but yeah same
@@Pynot TBC because of Draenei and the highelf in Auberdine, but not Wrath; otherwise the trip to Menethil and long walk to IF would have been omitted. with the harbour in SW the Darkshore-SW voyage became a very short one :)
Yeah I meant BC but you get what I was going for. I was thinking Darkshore to SW Harbor and realized it was pre-Wrath.
I love the little detail of the npc sounds, it's accurate because is like playing "I spy" in a long travel to avoid feeling bored, clicking all the npcs I met.
Can’t believe you made this. The nostalgia is almost too much for me
I feel ya. Wanting to laugh and cry in the same video for many reasons.
The world we grew up in ❤️
This took long time to make. Amazing animation. As a OG WoW player I'm impressed by the attention to detail.
watched it all for nostalgia of the wetlands run.
Still remember getting all the way to Elwynn and doing some Quests and hearthing to hand in... and was back at god damned Telldrasill.
Scarred me for life
😂😂😂😂😂😂at least they toned down the amount of actual times the mobs would rape you along the way. This journey could have been much longer
Same
And you’ll never get back. It’s burned.
@@brucehan8460 *fumes over that joke of a female high elf gone psycho* Liked her at 1 point, but when she did that - instant hate. My 1st ever toon was night elf.
As a night elf player, I think the most satisfying part of the video was seeing the crocolisks and then knowing, ok now next is the spider.
That one Leech Stalker who just can't leave the road alone!
Literally knew what will happen every second, and still watched whole video. Some things just never get old.
to this day, one of the best pieces of wow fan content ever made.
Its just a 2D elf running for hours.Nobody does that in game. This is a tutorial on how to waste your time playing WoW classic
@@aarengraves9962 my friend, i played back in retail vanilla, and this video is incredibly accurate and a fantastic piece of nostalgia for a time when i had more time than sense, and wow was magical.
it may not be to you, but i thought i'd provide you some context why i love this video.
you realize that literally NOBODY does that at lvl 1 right? You must be mad to do this run at level 1. Level 5 or 10 is common, but level 1?.... nahh doesn't make any sense@@kkplx
@@aarengraves9962 You're wrong, many people do. I have done it, and have seen dozens on the road in wetlands doing it. In fact, it was a weekly occurrence back in the day to have someone in guild chat talking about how they rolled up a NE and are doing the run. People also did it after getting to the 5-10 range, but nonetheless, it happens at level 1 as well.
That is the most effort for a single joke payoff I've ever seen
I see you
7:25 the way you captured that split second moment as your character gets flung into the sky before the hippogryph appears is just too amazing.
I was looking for this!!! That moment made me crack the HECK up!!!
this video just feels like Carbot recorded the run and then just animated everything to match the random sound effects. another amazing video that just makes me miss what World of Warcraft once was to me
That's probably exactly what happened lol
@@Snuzzled the only part that made me doubt it was the lack of people dueling outside stormwind, but it might just be on retail where there are no people left
Umm on retail there's no teldrassil left so it'd be hard to run from a place that doesn't exist to sw
Also he could have done this in classic because noone plays it now that tbc is out
@@luisruiz7884 Im pretty sure night elves still start in the Shadowglen, and you play through up until the tree gets burnt down. Zidormi should also be in darkshore i think to teleport any higher level players back in time to pre fire teldrassil
Amazing video, my first vanilla character was a night elf priest. same hair color. I ran like this all the way to Azshara having no clue where I was going, just seeing the world. I remember in Azshara a horde Tauren player was there. He freaking escorted my lost noob self all the way back to the town Astranaar in Ashenvale! It was a pvp server. One of my first lasting memories of WoW.
