I am a 53 Yo man, My wife and I have played Ark for 6 Years Starting on Legacy and moving to Official, we have met some wonderful people in this community, almost like a second Family To Be Honest. When the "end" was announced I literally cried, as did my wife. We invested So much into this game, it really was our life. When we heard it was a "upgrade" we breathed a sigh of relief as we hoped we were going to be able to just take a "update" and keep all of our hard work. Then the news Dropped and was informed it was a "stand alone replacement" and we were going to loose all our stuff. That has made me opt to not buy the new version of our beloved game just because I started over from Legacy to Official... I can't do it again if it costs me another 5 + years to get back what we had. It was a hell of a ride but as it is now this is goodbye. :(

wish i could have done the same but i caved and bought the other one, after 250 hours i quit, i couldn't do it anymore, the lag and server crashes, the bugs, the client crashes, everything that plagued ASE was AND still is in ASA, the devs have completly abandoned the idea of bug fixing and optimization, they just want to spew out content and take your money , they also announce each map will have its own dlc that will add more creatures and structures , can you imagine that? Yeah we getting the whole game for 40$ but you gotta pay more the rest of it?
I said nah and stopped playing, then palworld dropped, and honestly i never thought i will enjoy it so much but i do, more than ASA anyway.
I played ARK since its initial launch and like you i found myself meeting good and bad people and communities, i had fun and i made a lot of good memories but ASA will never be able to replace them as i thought it will when i bought it, worst 40$ i ever spent and i wish i didn't , i have now lost all hope in WC and i will definetly avoid any of their products.

I got to see the beginning of some amazing content creators, and experience the growth of Ark as I also aged. It’s great to just have a video going over Arks history with some of my most nostalgic moments packed inside. Of course nostalgia can be a bit intoxicating, and makes it hard to think about the current form of Wildcard ,and the Company’s Name Which Shall Not Be Said. This game alone was the only reason that got me into PC gaming back when I was still a child. This eventually led to me making really good new friends and pc tech becoming a huge passion of mine which I'll maybe even be able to integrate into my job in a few years. Thank you for everything Ark!

ARK is my most played game in my Steam library, clocking in just under 5,500 hours. It started as just 'the dinosaur game dad plays' to now my sons' play it and, with ASA, they'll be able to play with me (once PC-console crossplay is supported). ARK is my place of virtual refuge, I look forward to what this new iteration brings.

I cant believe this game has been a part of me for nearly half my lifetime.
A huge chapter has ended. A full volume perhaps. But another story awaits us on the horizon.
Its been a brilliant ride people. Farewell to those leaving or staying behind, and good luck to all continuing on.

Ever since iballistic squid dropped that banger back in 2015, my life has never been the same. I played so many hours of this with myself and the boys, even though i never properly joined a server, the community was still so strong and friendly for such a cruel dinosaur game.

Bought this game 8 years ago thinking nothing of it. Met people on official who lived 10/30 mins drive from me. I’m now 21 and we go out partying in groups together. These are people I never knew existed until I raided them or they grouped us to fight a mutual enemy. All because of Ark. it’s going to be a shame to see it go but it really needed this change.

I don't even play Ark due to not having a pc but I have watched thousands of hours worth of videos and playthroughs in RUclips and this video made me a bit emotional because based on what i've seen, this game impacted and helped tons of people cure their boredom. Even with it's unfixable game bugs and lag, it still entertained people and helped them pass through hard times. Thank you Ark Survival Evolved, it has been a long ride. Welcome Ark Ascended and Ark 2 hopefully soon!

bro i actually teared up a bit, i love this game so much, it has literally been with me through so much, literally thousands of hours clocked in, and im so extremely hyped for its continuation in ASA and Ark 2, ive seen many of the creators showcased here, ark is just a truely magical game, something so unique it really is even to this day unlike anything else on the market, there are clones but the clones dont even compare, and with asa thats only going to be emphasized

I wish I'd been there at the start. I only discovered ARK through a group of friends in June 2021. Played it for a little while on the rented server we had (map chosen was Ragnarok), then they all left so I moved all the dinos to a singleplayer Rag. Then BAM, that itch needed to be scratched and I kept playing, learning, dying, taming, losing dinos, building, and having fun. For me it was, and is, a great escape. Particularly for me during the long periods of lockdown during the pandemic, it was wonderful to have a universe to escape for a few hours. And these days it's a great escape when I just want to chill and explore after work, or on the weekends. Yet I've only just scratched the surface. I'm definitely gonna get ASA, but ASE will always be special to me.
Man... this video really hit in the feels (I'm not crying, you're crying... shut up! lol). Thanks for this mate. Love your work and your enthusiasm. Especially the Ark Lore vids which I really enjoyed. Keep it up! I look forward to seeing what you're gonna do when ASA drops.

I've been with Ark since the being. I have 12,356 hours, and I've been journeyed through all its dlcs. Loved every amazing story detail and lore and watching the game grow. I Fell in love with its creatures and have some of the best memories of my life in those 8 years.
We've pushed through It's ups, and it's downd. I've met some amazing people, and one of those who is my best friend who is American and still is to this day... part of me was reluctant to buy Asa ... but after watching your videos. I realise this game gave me more joy in my life than any other. And I would play it all over again to have even more new memories. ❤ it would be worth the money and every penny.

My greatest regret is only discovering the game three years ago and not really moving forwards until really the last couple of years. There's much I feel I never truly experienced and was only in a position to do so as the game was already ending. Even now, I find it hard to accept ASE is over. I float aimlessly between single player and unofficial servers hoping to get the same feeling but it's kinda gone. All of the anger and frustration is really just evidence of the deep emotional connection and love we all have for the game. Whatever happens, as you said, we have to thank Wildcard for bringing ark to us. And as a final note, again, I want to thank you and your team from the bottom of my heart for truly bringing Ark ALIVE to many of us. All the best Neddy, I'll keep watching for you, whatever the future holds. Cheers mate!
