You need to make a wisdom CHECK to shake off the frightened condition from wrathful smite. Which makes it much better, since you have disadvantage on ability checks if you're frightened and can see the source of your fear.
I never really expected to get any support when I first started so the fact that people watch my videos at all is always shocking to me and I'm very grateful for the kind words.
Great work, but minor (yet impactful in combat correction). Wrathful smite is a wisdom SAVE to become frightened, but it is a wisdom CHECK to try and end it. This has two massive implications. 1) a creatures WIS check is never going to be higher than their save, so once they're in it, its hard to get out, especially considering.... 2) being frightened imposes disadvantage on ability checks. Anyone frightened by wrathful smite now has disadvantage to break free with probabaly little to no modifier. It is killer.
@@daniellambeth6769 Thank you for the support! Although I might not be able to upload anytime soon due to school picking up, but thank you for being here anyway.
Fun fact: since spiritual weapon tecnically inflicts meele damage and is considered an extension of the character, its attacks can also deal Devine smite.
@@The_Young_Lion ouch that is unfortunate, it must be a detail lost in the Italian translation of the rules. However my dm does not mind it and he also let me use divine smite with unarmed strikes.
What would the alignment be on a conquest paladin that seeks to conquer all that is dark and evil? Essentially killing everything that is an ally of evil with no hesitation...
Alignment is a very subjective thing, I would suggest talking to your DM and see if you guys can come to an agreement. However, if you ask me, your alignment depends more on the method of how you want to achieve your goal. So evil aligned characters are usually ok with sacrificing anyone or anything to achieve their own goals. Good aligned generally tries to achieve their goals in a way that benefits everyone or doesn't cause unnecessary harm. But that is just my opinion, I hope that helps!
@@Greyscales what do you think the neutral alignment would be? Killing without hesitation and with rage, but to benefit others? Would this simply be good?
@@TheOnlyPedroGameplays I guess it would be good since you are doing it with altruistic outcomes? But it depends a lot on who you are killing, who you are killing for and what did you do to get there. If you are simply killing out of anger, then that might be neutral. If the person you kill is evil, then it can be considered good. If the person was good then it might even be considered evil. There's a lot of "ifs" and variables, I think talking to your DM is your best bet.
@REALPEDROGAMEPLAYS I think a paladin who kills without rage in his heart is more fearsome. He walks into the Great Hall an aura of dread surrounds him he walks calmly toward his Foe "Im afraid now you must be put to rest. May (my god) forgive me" Roll initiative.
Hey NihilisticJokerz, I'm really happy that you enjoy what I do on this channel! As for the Echo Knight request, I love Critical Role and what Matt Mercer does, however, I actually haven't read through Explorer's Guide to Wildemount yet so I don't have a good grasp of those specific Subclasses. I do plan on doing videos talking about Classes that I haven't yet covered, so like the Bard, Barbarian, Cleric, Ranger, Rogue and Sorcerer. Thanks for the request and comment though, I'll try to read Wildemount soon and I'll think about the Echo Knight!
Greyscale I’m still playing my first campaign and th fighter Ech Knight was the first class I decided to play. Not a lot of abilities or bonuses to it but it’s fun with what you can do.
@@NihilisticJokerz I hope your first campaign goes well my dude, I looked into a few of the abilities of the Echo Knight and it does seem really fun to play!
Greyscale it is so far. And as a lizardfolk, it means I can get twice as many bodies to eat later. Although it puts me in contention with the party necromancer
One day I'll watch a Conquest video where someone recommends Draconblood Dragonborn with the Dragon Fear feat. I live in a world of Aasimar 10 foot 1 turn poopy fear.
Hey Krunchy, I think Paladins have a lot of natural synergy with a lot of charisma casters if you are planning for a more min-max kind of build. I think the Dragon Fear feat from Xanathar's is pretty good, but since it ties into your Dragonborn's breath weapon, you will only be able to use it once per rest and it costs an Action, but it is pretty thematically cool for a Dragonborn conquest paladin to have a scary roar. If you want more melee power, then something like Hexblade Paladin is strong because of its ability to give you Charisma damage bonus on your melee weapon so you don't have to invest in Strength that much. If you want more versatility then Bard is good for the skill proficiencies and the Bard spells, I think Whispers bard is a really interesting idea to boost your damage, but I think the classic Lore Bard's Cutting Words is more useful overall, but that's preference. If you want more firepower then Sorcerer is a classic combo that gives you a lot of spell slots to sling out spells or to fuel your Divine Smites. I do think a mono Paladin build is never wrong, at least until you get your Auras, but I hope this answered your questions about Multi-classing options. Thank you for the comment, I hope you enjoyed the video!

and you can't use your proficiency bonus since it's a plain check and isn't tied to any skills or saving throws.
