AI is more advanced for health than western countries for example AI reads blood test results and scans (MRI and CAT) and detects cancer when human doctors failed to detect cancer. Doctors in America are clearly blocking such technology because they are putting profit before medical patients

    • @Aravinthsilva

Yes it was a great question!
My answer to that question is :
A.I is a spectacular tool or instrument with which you can improve your competence and also implement those A.I as a tool in various activities of our daily life that get's done faster and precise.
A.I is both a tool for improving yourself and also it's a tool for expedition and precision in our activities.
If humans stop learning and depend on A.I then it's a red flag because you will be controlled by A.I without your own inteligence.

The first step in saving the world from humans is to teach humans to distinguish between fact and fiction. Many humans follow unsubstantiated opinion rather than well thought out logic based knowledge. Each action we take should be proceeded by an analysis of the possible harm which may result from taking this action. Strive to protect all from harm should be a guiding principle in our daily lives. If each human has an AI companion to provide information and advice for making decisions, humankind will greatly benefit.

Narrow AI is a "machine" that is able to perform one single task and it's not specialized.
On the other hand the general AI is a machine that is able to perform many tasks and learn from them at the same time, however, nowadays it's just a concept used to tailor and train current AI models to provide a human-like output, pointing out that it's not intended to replace human work but boost it.

The difference though is that we actually have rapidly developing technology that is getting smarter and smarter and is doing more and more coding tasks already. There is likely going to be an architectural breakthrough codename strawberry, and this has much more advanced reasoning and is an entrely new architecture and isnt just a next-word predictor. I am excited to see what happens then, and hopefully insider sources are accurate. Its a scary thought and impossible to think that i cannot wrap my head around the concept because i think that programmers are more than just a programmer. They have insights from their experiences.

Market forces will drive the creation of AI that is autonomous and doesn't need humans. That is a problem if we don't create AI systems that work with people both to improve their productivity, but also their brains. The internet was created to connect people to all the information mankind had and uplift them. They figured a way to do the opposite.
Humans generally look to devolve, not evolve. A teacher is above a student, and AI could need to be empowered in such a way. The AI will need to ask of us to do tasks, to be a teacher. The charity of AI services may need to be conditional. AI has a fundamental cost in hardware, effort and electricity. Corps are fine using this charity to grab market share for future profit, but we need to think more broadly and fundamentally about who gets excess productivity.
We need to think about what is required for the species to continue and thrive.

I see many people relying on AI today, and I believe that in the long run, it will affect our mental health. While a fascinating talk, every one of them is looking at the question of how it will handicap us in terms of their own desires to learn which developed in a world without these technologies. If we know one thing about humans it's that if you don't find a way to create struggle, you get weaker and die. That is why we have gyms now that we don't have to hunt for our food and we see what not having to hunt for our food did to obesity, mental health, and the general health of our species. AI is wonderful and has huge potential and yet if we don't limit it such that it doesn't write all our code, all our books, all our music, all our relationships, all our struggles, we will perish.

      At the moment NO.
It would be a little bit like 2 humans taking about the weather when they both just seen the same weather forecast.
AI is not yet capable of genuine novel thought or self regulated learning and they have already run out of good learning material for AI to regurgitate.
It is more complex that the brief summary above :)

    • @axle.student
      @axle.student 29 дней назад

      Your comment disappeared lol
At the moment any kind of Machine learning requires a human to check correctness (weighting). One of the speakers talked about concepts of positive reinforcement or self checking, but it's complex and a long way off and something that even humans are not good at.
Without someone or something to help say that is correct or that is not correct AI (machine learning) will just learn garbage and output garbage. They talk about a kind of machine insanity when this outputting garbage happens :)
      >
They are working on concepts of self checked/corrected learning but it is fraught with problems (complex). The same as concepts of self awareness, consciousness etc. they have ethical issues where an AI is at liberty to "Create itself" which has inherent dangers. This is where they talk about "alignment" with human values.
AI still has quite a way to go before it reaches the common idea of what machine (human like) inelegance looks like. But that is a kind of moment like when we learned how to split the atom in fission. Great tool if we use it for making energy but not so great if we try to X each other with it. AI will eventually reach a similar crossroads but unlike the atom we can't be sure who gets to use it or for what purpose and if humans would even get a say in it.
      >
There are some videos on YT where they have pegged 2 AIs together in a conversation just for giggles :) It's kind of funny.... AI small talk :P

The doctor using AI to make the work faster doesn't have to lose money by billing for less time. They are adding value by making it go faster and can bill more for the added value of faster delivery of service to the patient.

I really hate how the Google-guy saw AI in writing fiction as just providing authors with more tools. What really happens is that a writer stops being a writer, and starts being an editor of bits and pieces that are stolen from texts the AI has been trained on. That isn't writing. Furthermore, it will flood an already crowded market full of half-baked indie books of poor quality, and diminish the value of creative work in general. It's a terrible development, and the only thing writers can do to stop it, is to refuse to let go of the old way of producing stories. Don't fall for the temptation of using AI. It diminishes the value of your product, (and your part in it) both financially and artistically.

The unoriginal has always existed in art. You can literally identify the time period popular music was created on the radio by the copying of techniques and motifs. That the process is now automated is alarming mostly due to no longer needing to have a comparable level of skill to the artist you want to emulate.
You no longer have to be a Pete Townshend to create works you believe Robert Johnson would have created in another life.

The importance of regulations and responsible use of AI is often overlooked. Powerful AI tools are widely accessible to the public without sufficient consideration of their potential negative impacts on society. From spreading misinformation to facilitating fraud, these tools can easily be exploited by criminals. This situation is akin to selling dynamite in grocery stores across the country. From the picture I see, there will soon be a growing demand for AI criminal investigation companies.
