Ok this is some divine level coincidence. Just yesterday I wrote in my journal exactly about this voice, I wrote “ do the hard things that in your heart know are the right things to do” “if there is an urge there probably is a meaning to be found” and this is like the expanded version of exactly what I had in mind. Blessed
Congratulations 🎉, you are doing great
Brooo! This is ME! Even though, we are at different points and understanding, everything you said greatly resonates with me!
@@goodluckraph Amazing! I hope you achieve big success in life.
Follow that voice which tells you what is right and what is wrong for you in this life. That's it. Maybe it's called conscience or inner voice

2. Follow your Energy
3. Go all in

Correction: generic advice.
Remove your nails
Sounds good, doesn't work most of the time. Something to get young people hyped up and reaching for something they're not at all qualified or ready for. Similar speech for sending young troops to die for in the trenches.
“Energy is the language of your soul”…underrated quote
I loved that!

In 50 years of life, this is some of the best advice I’ve ever heard! So well explained.
53 here. pretty good indeed. Wise advice. We are raised to be fearful. especially of what other people would think.
investing in yourself is the most valuable thing you can do. Discipline is often misunderstood, but reading Bruce Thornwood's "Unveiling Your Hidden Potential" gave me the tools to build it and distinguish my mindset from others.
is this an ad?
Secret Pathway To Triumph blew my mind. I’ve shared them with friends, and they’re all amazed at the shifts in their mindset.
You will only have a few paths that will bring out your full force. Those paths will be unique to you. If you're courageous enough to go all-in with all your energy in the right path, you'll be able to do something that will look impossible for everyone else. And was only meant to be achieved by you - and that my-friend is your purpose of life.
Yes! Exactly. Love that summary.

Powerful, insightful, funny, this lecture has it all. Graham Weaver is a master storyteller effortlessly weaving personal stories with deep learnings. As an Integration coach, I've been sharing variations on these themes with my clients for many years, but I really appreciated the way Graham packaged the message with poignancy, lightness and clarity. My favorite insight is how we often resort to building a helmet around us to protect the nail in our head rather than pulling it out. It's a powerful insight that you'll have to watch the lecture to understand what I just said--it will be well worth your time!
What a coincidence. I came across this video today, a few days after I got laid off from a corporate job that was stable and well paying, but that was slowly draining my soul.
I’ve felt burnt out for a long time, and now I know why.
This is one of the most insightful talks I’ve ever seen. 💜
Good luck going forward.
Hope you find something that fulfills you, you’ve got this
You've got this , you'll find your purpose.

"Follow your energy", What a great quote to hear instead follow your passion. This talk was great and I learned so much from this single video. I am in my third year of college and for the past two years, I have been living my college life in fear and making it smaller and smaller. It was pathetic. I wanted it out of my chest but I feared my friends would not understand. But now I will implement whatever he told me to embrace that feeling, defeat it, and go forward. I hope everyone like me watches this, learns, and starts implementing it as soon as possible.
So happy it was helpful for you! Wishing you all the best!
Wow, this is good. So many gems. "Focus on your energy, not your passion," love that take. The opening story with the run, hahaha. Among the best commencement speeches I've heard, appreciate the actionable advice/tools. Thank you Graham!
Thank you Chris!
When we choose to work in industry, I have observed often times the company takes a decision for you in career path. If we still have a desire to pursue our interests, it is possible to channel our energy toward the shared objective or venturing out to start your own business. I have often seen many making a positive progress with enthusiasm, wisdom, network and experience.
Thanks Graham and Stanford Graduate School of Business for sharing the How to Live your Life at Full Power.
You are welcome! So happy you enjoyed the video!!
Thank you, youtube, for connecting like-minded people🤝.Graham, I just want to tell you one thing. You have won your life by dedicating your life following the path you have chosen and lived to your fullest. I am 25 years old guy, and I had this in my mind for long. How to live to the fullest and what is the meaning of life. The title doesn't justify the content. To live a fulfilled life you direct your energy as directed by soul and there are lot of distraction keeping you from achieving this goal. One of the factors is fear. But there are a lot that we can explore. Thanks a ton that I have learned something from a seeker. Keep on seeking❤
This will be one of those evergreen videos. Watch this 20 years from now and it'll still hold true.
Wow. Thank you so much!!
20 Years, 200 of 2000, it doesn’t matter. This is universal wisdom, so I think time is irrelevant. What an amazing talk.
Thank you sir, I'm learning from RUclips more than I learned from university here I found the world best teacher❤
I’m in my early 30s and felt this really strongly earlier this year. Like the lecturer, I went soul searching - travelled across 3 continents, went to Nepal on a meditation retreat. I think going all in on something - like I had with my first start up - is the most rewarding thing ever. Anything else feels like a betrayal to who I am, my identity. Once I did find the thing I want to do though, the hard thing is balancing what I want to do with the life I want to live - all the costs that are required. So I find myself with my second startup and about to start a new corporate job. I don’t know if I’ll like this new life or not, but for now at least I feel like I’m living an authentic, balanced version of myself.
He almost tested up talking about letting go of his son. What a great dad. You can tell how much he loves his kid.
It is very different with me. My passion gives me energy. Passion gives me my goal and plan to achieve it. Without passion or purpose, I’d just give up!! That happened with me for 3 years, but once I rekindled what I’ve lost within me - the energy and the DRIVE returned and I am now in the right path once more! ❤
So glad the algorithm sent me this
All hail the Algo
1. Take the Nail out of your head. (face the fear bang on)
2. Go towards things that give you Energy
3. To go all in NOW!
As a musician , the concept of “go toward what gives you energy” is just so powerful ❤🙏
Thank you so much, Graham!! Truly meaningful talk!

I agree. But lack of appropriate fear can lead to a life that's very short. The difficulty is learning from the normal human emotion called " fear." Too much is no good. Neither is too little any good.
12:12 "Everything that you want is on the other side of worst first" Wow! Hearing that while presently in my "worst first" is like a lifeline. To be living your worst fear and needing to choose to face it at the same time, I'm surprised I haven't mentally and emotionally napped yet. Wait a minute, I kinda have!
I am not from class of 2024, i am way older.. but i so appreciated this talk. Thank you. Live life in full power!!!

What would I do if I knew I wouldn’t fail? I dropped out of university after a year because I was afraid of failing in school, I’m now regretting because my life feels worthless as I lack purpose and direction. I feel stuck in this 9-5 routine and I’m so burnouts and mentally drained this video was so enlightening to me in so many ways. Thank you for posting ❤
Some people are smart enough to question advice that is posted here, knowing that life cannot be summed up as simply as this speaker portrays it. A smart person knows to do what's best for them, knowing that there is no guidebook, and knowing all the while that not everybody will help you or be your friend. We have fears built in to protect the self from harm. I suppose overcoming fear is good, but being fearless might land you on s bumpy uncomfortable road.
I always wanted to join in Indian army, but now i am into IT, i have exhausted my attempts gave exam 4 times, took into online coaching also, but was not able to get into. I still am trying to find meaning into my job everyday. Yesterday i was into a mall just to get my daily groceries, and then i suddenly saw the gentleman cadets of the Indian army aspiring to become the next officer. I don't know how should i put my energy into my job now. I am very grateful that this job has given me a sense of security but getting into IT was never my dream it never was. I remember the first day when i got into the job, my colleagues asked me if i was into army before, i felt happy that they recognised me that i looked like them, but it was empty for me. I just said, i was aspiring to become one, but could never become one.
I get paid well, i am into WFH working comfortably from the comfort of my home, but whenever i am with myself, i find myself lost into thoughts that in this life i couldn't become a soldier and i should live with it.
Wow this is sooo unique and insightful --"The way your second language talks to you is through energy. It doesn't use words. It uses your whole body and shows you things for which you have energy". I emphasize so much with it and with the not following your passion part. I really don't know what my passion is but everybody would sense what gives them energy.
This is so helpful. Muchas gracias. I am 56 and I have spent years building my business and it is so stressful. My inner voice says sell now and move to Spain or Italy. I have fear I will sell too soon and I won’t have the security I need. I found it easier to risk when I had nothing. I’m going to work trough this fear. Thank you!
Do it.
That is true. It is easier to risk when you have nothing. It's also easier to risk when you are in your youth. I'm reminded of a poem The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost.
But you have the skills and knowledge from building that business, you also know how that business works, you have clients and connections. So what, you move to Italy after selling and you have your down time and space to relax and think. Worse case scenario is, you can start again, but build it better and remove them stress points. All the things you think you need, you don’t. If you have family and loving friends you’re doing very well. Let go of the business and you’ll see you have nothing to lose at all but everything to gain.
This video truly spoke to me. I have always been to listen and follow my inner voice but had trouble quietening my inner critic. You've given me a weapon to add to my arsenal. Thank you!
Nice said, follow your energy not your passion. If the passion is film making only a part of all genres, styles and stories give you energy. Only a part suits you. You will be successful when you want it as bad as you wanna breathe. And you wanna breathe now so do it now. When you deliver meaningful service to others YOU WILL BE successful
I saved this for later. One day I will come back and tell you guys
Im afraid you wont
All the best, rooting for you!
.
So why advertise that you have an issue with procrastination? 😕

OMG this is the perfect talk for me right now. I'm dealing with the exact situation he's describing. I'm stuck in a dead-end job in the government that I hate but yet I don't seem to have the energy and the focus to leave this job and go after a better position elsewhere. 😢
I have had this feeling of energy flow which is leading to the places which will help me in achieving my goals and also bring harmony to me... By chance I hapenned to watch this Video and I strongly agree with the professor..No fear is the way to move in life 🌹
Need to see it again and again to get the clarity about my life's decisions
Powerful. The world would be a better place if this was taught in primary school ❤
That is one of the best speeches I have ever heard , hats off to you Graham Weaver ,I learned a lot today.
Gotta come back after years, lets see how far we've come 🤝

What if the second voice suggest multiple options? Leave the job, start your own business, learn to code and change the world, write books, may be dance or dj, or may be start a community. So many choices how to hear that voice? Which to pick first and stay focused 😢😢😢
Celebrate that you have so many things that give you energy!! You can have everything in your life, just not all of them at once. I started by focusing on the one that I thought would give me tremendous energy that I wanted to do for my entire life. And have added nearly all of the 9 lives over time.
@@grahamcweaver really appreciate your help. One more question please- let’s say I want to fight for employees rights in India and across. But being in job I am afraid of it. How do one gather such skills & courage to do big things in life ?
Remember 9 life method first half of the talk and the 2 methods to utilize the theory ;)

@@grahamcweaverThanks Graham. Great speech !
Very motivational lecture.Once I want to start a software company working in AI. I planned the software product line. I want to make a software company based on research activity. But I don't know business management. At the same time, though I completed Master in computer applications from National institute of technology,India, I did not learn AI. So, though that type of company will be very advanced but proper business route is not clear. So I want to learn MBA from Stanford GSB. At the same time, I have an alternate path. I want to be a leader of change of my country, India. It is also very unknown to me. But I feel that this path is far more challenging. To be successful as leader, leadership training is necessary which I can get in Stanford GSB through MBA as I came to know about 2nd year Aurbekul leadership fellow. I feel that will help me. Thanks.
Wishing you all the best in your adventure!!
Ive been needing to hear this for a long time thank you
Great stuff! Beautiful speech. Admirable speaker. But I believe this is a somewhat privileged take.
For most, especially ones coming from humbler backgrounds, life isn't as straightforward. There is a desire to secure the financial freedom for family, and that financial freedom might come at the cost of moving towards one's energy. Moreover, the downside of failure can be grave for some. This is why risks should always be calculated with "stop loss" in place.
Hence, while an American coming from Stanford might attain the privilege of taking these decisions, but not everyone has the same luxury.
For the rest of us, risks should be taken carefully. Passions should be attended to after fulfilling responsibility reasonably. And talents should not be wasted in the pursuit of one singular vision.
It really isn't a bad idea to have backups in place - for that might just be the true freedom one needs to move towards their energy. :)
Here you are. Thank you, Graham.
The first voice - fight or flight response (ego?) ; the second voice - inner wisdom; intuition; the god (the superego?)
Access full power by listening to the second voice, which contains your dream, your path and your energy.
The promise to get myself unstuck:
Take the nail out of your head.
And the nail i have is my bad habits. Scrolling, and procrastinating, smoking, saying things i don’t do/lie, taking medication instead of doing other things to help it,
Fears that make me stay paralyzed.
Why not pulling the nails out?
1. We haven’t admitted that we have one.
Solution: speak your truth.
Instead of putting energy into protecting the nail,
2. There’s plateau, it will get worse first when you reach the next height.
Thank you so much Graham. You're the reason some of us will reach our full potential in years to come. This advice is priceless!!!
Wonderful, need this to be re-watched every month, so I know to reconnect with my soul ❤️❤️❤️
Listening to the voice from Nigeria, thank you.
Well said 💯...."there is nothing to fear, except fear itself"
this video just showed up at the perfect time. I am really struggling to take a step forward in my career and my life. Ill just add one thing that may help those struggling with making big decisions, which is to try first what you are afraid.
It’s a little hard for me to listen to this. Sounds great in theory, optimistic to a fault; but the reality is that you are limited by situations outside of your control. I call survivorship bias on this. Good luck to the brave young ones who dare follow this path.
One question. Have you tried to lead this kind of life or you've never done anything out of your comfort zone?
@@fishymakesart2133 Yes, I have. One example is the period after graduation when I fully immersed myself in my passion. I soon discovered a stark difference between pursuing something for personal enjoyment and turning it into a business. I ended up burned out, financially strained, and uncertain about my future. Life happened, and mounting personal responsibilities forced me to prioritize a stable job. The harsh realities of life necessitated compromises. While I carry the ‘nail on my head’ of these past decisions, I stand firm in my decisions. When at a crossroads, I know I made the best decision available to me at that time.
@@jego207thanks for sharing. I do resonate with some of the things you said. However I would push back and say it’s important for people to recognize that while there are many things outside of their control, the reality is that there are many more things inside of their control. You see it has a lot to do with hope. If a person has lost all hope of living a better life then naturally they will feel less inclined to improve their life if even only in some small part. Yes, life is filled with its challenges. Just be careful not to make the challenges of others your own. Give thanks for your situation and seek to maximize what ever opportunities however small or big have been given to you 😊
So much love delivered by the Speaker ❤❤❤

Love the way Graham tells the story to the audience
Brilliant advice for b-school grads. I wonder how many follow this path? Difficult but invaluable lessons to follow!!
Thank you Ned!!
This video overemphasizes individual effort, ignoring crucial external factors like support and resources. It risks promoting burnout by glorifying endless commitment without balance. Success is complex and not solely dependent on personal energy; this mindset sets unrealistic expectations and can lead to frustration and failure.
Unfortunately, many people have life circumstances that don't allow them to follow their energy, even if they were brave enough to do so. Family health problems, lack of finances, etc. It's a privilege to even consider this as an option for many.
I have that question in all my journals “what would you do if you knew you wouldn’t fail?”
It feels like Everything Everywhere All At Once 💪🏾💪🏾
Such a great talk, Graham! So may eternal truths in this, and some real practical advice for us all to take action on today. Well spoken. Well done!
Thank you so much Sean!!
Okay, I think this was a very useful lecture for where I am right now. However, everyone’s facing their own amount of risk by making a decision to go all in. Not only that, everyone has a different risk tolerance that allows them to handle risk more or less than others. I want to start my own business but I will certainly not make enough money to live if I quit my FT job. I’m also in debt from schooling. So can I handle that level of risk? That is the main question I am asking myself right now. The decision would be much easier if I had two years worth of money for bills saved up.
Right. So spend an hour a day or so working on your new company, keep your expenses low as you bank money to go all-in. That is how I started my company as well.
@@grahamcweaver that’s exactly what I’m doing 🙌🏼
It’s easier and your odds of success are better when you don’t have a parachute. Think about it. Gave me a 9 figure net worth by making some stupid mistake and some amazing innovations. Just go for it

Nice video good message, and I think this is the perfect example of why you need to give up sometimes on somethings, to go up (and for each new level, you need to cut out your fear, toxic things, people, news, bad habits-anything which sucks away your energy from your mission-your purpose.)
Ok this is weird that from last 1 week I was thinking to make my next big move and stop being calculated and fearful all the time. This came to notification best part is I didn't search it!
