Ok this is some divine level coincidence. Just yesterday I wrote in my journal exactly about this voice, I wrote “ do the hard things that in your heart know are the right things to do” “if there is an urge there probably is a meaning to be found” and this is like the expanded version of exactly what I had in mind. Blessed

Powerful, insightful, funny, this lecture has it all. Graham Weaver is a master storyteller effortlessly weaving personal stories with deep learnings. As an Integration coach, I've been sharing variations on these themes with my clients for many years, but I really appreciated the way Graham packaged the message with poignancy, lightness and clarity. My favorite insight is how we often resort to building a helmet around us to protect the nail in our head rather than pulling it out. It's a powerful insight that you'll have to watch the lecture to understand what I just said--it will be well worth your time!

"Follow your energy", What a great quote to hear instead follow your passion. This talk was great and I learned so much from this single video. I am in my third year of college and for the past two years, I have been living my college life in fear and making it smaller and smaller. It was pathetic. I wanted it out of my chest but I feared my friends would not understand. But now I will implement whatever he told me to embrace that feeling, defeat it, and go forward. I hope everyone like me watches this, learns, and starts implementing it as soon as possible.

If we still have a desire to pursue our interests, it is possible to channel our energy toward the shared objective or venturing out to start your own business. You have won your life by dedicating your life following the path you have chosen and lived to your fullest. I am 25 years old guy, and I had this in my mind for long. How to live to the fullest and what is the meaning of life. The title doesn't justify the content. To live a fulfilled life you direct your energy as directed by soul and there are lot of distraction keeping you from achieving this goal. One of the factors is fear. I’m in my early 30s and felt this really strongly earlier this year. Like the lecturer, I went soul searching - travelled across 3 continents, went to Nepal on a meditation retreat. I think going all in on something - like I had with my first start up - is the most rewarding thing ever. Anything else feels like a betrayal to who I am, my identity. Once I did find the thing I want to do though, the hard thing is balancing what I want to do with the life I want to live - all the costs that are required. So I find myself with my second startup and about to start a new corporate job. I don’t know if I’ll like this new life or not, but for now at least I feel like I’m living an authentic, balanced version of myself.

Some people are smart enough to question advice that is posted here, knowing that life cannot be summed up as simply as this speaker portrays it. A smart person knows to do what's best for them, knowing that there is no guidebook, and knowing all the while that not everybody will help you or be your friend. We have fears built in to protect the self from harm. I suppose overcoming fear is good, but being fearless might land you on s bumpy uncomfortable road.

I always wanted to join in Indian army, but now i am into IT, i have exhausted my attempts gave exam 4 times, took into online coaching also, but was not able to get into. I still am trying to find meaning into my job everyday. Yesterday i was into a mall just to get my daily groceries, and then i suddenly saw the gentleman cadets of the Indian army aspiring to become the next officer. I don't know how should i put my energy into my job now. I am very grateful that this job has given me a sense of security but getting into IT was never my dream it never was. I remember the first day when i got into the job, my colleagues asked me if i was into army before, i felt happy that they recognised me that i looked like them, but it was empty for me. I just said, i was aspiring to become one, but could never become one.
I get paid well, i am into WFH working comfortably from the comfort of my home, but whenever i am with myself, i find myself lost into thoughts that in this life i couldn't become a soldier and i should live with it.

But you have the skills and knowledge from building that business, you also know how that business works, you have clients and connections. So what, you move to Italy after selling and you have your down time and space to relax and think. Worse case scenario is, you can start again, but build it better and remove them stress points. All the things you think you need, you don’t. If you have family and loving friends you’re doing very well. Let go of the business and you’ll see you have nothing to lose at all but everything to gain.

This video played randomly on my list while I was driving. This couldn't have been at a more crucial time in my life, when I'm standing at the crossroads. I have let fear overtake my existence, I have been living in a state of drained energy far too long. I have decided to run towards the energy. I'm listening to this again to do the exercise Graham talks about, I want to live my life to the fullest and not fear continue to overshadow it, I'm not putting it off till tomorrow.

Beautiful beautiful advice am listening to on this early morning first day of August month. Experienced what he says energy multiply as you remove the nail from your head and do what you were meant to do. Thank you very inspiring for me for struggling to move on inspite of in my country the mighty Indian armed forces joined by catholic nuns n priests And others with mystical powers are desperately trying to prove our god is not only mighty but destructively destroy you and your generations to come. Hopefully they succeed if they are right and I am wrong or evil. Just wanted to live an ordinary human life. Thank you love and peace to all

Very motivational lecture.Once I want to start a software company working in AI. I planned the software product line. I want to make a software company based on research activity. But I don't know business management. At the same time, though I completed Master in computer applications from National institute of technology,India, I did not learn AI. So, though that type of company will be very advanced but proper business route is not clear. So I want to learn MBA from Stanford GSB. At the same time, I have an alternate path. I want to be a leader of change of my country, India. It is also very unknown to me. But I feel that this path is far more challenging. To be successful as leader, leadership training is necessary which I can get in Stanford GSB through MBA as I came to know about 2nd year Aurbekul leadership fellow. I feel that will help me. Thanks.

Great stuff! Beautiful speech. Admirable speaker. But I believe this is a somewhat privileged take.
For most, especially ones coming from humbler backgrounds, life isn't as straightforward. There is a desire to secure the financial freedom for family, and that financial freedom might come at the cost of moving towards one's energy. Moreover, the downside of failure can be grave for some. This is why risks should always be calculated with "stop loss" in place.
Hence, while an American coming from Stanford might attain the privilege of taking these decisions, but not everyone has the same luxury.
For the rest of us, risks should be taken carefully. Passions should be attended to after fulfilling responsibility reasonably. And talents should not be wasted in the pursuit of one singular vision.
It really isn't a bad idea to have backups in place - for that might just be the true freedom one needs to move towards their energy. :)

The first voice - fight or flight response (ego?) ; the second voice - inner wisdom; intuition; the god (the superego?)
Access full power by listening to the second voice, which contains your dream, your path and your energy.
The promise to get myself unstuck:
Take the nail out of your head.
And the nail i have is my bad habits. Scrolling, and procrastinating, smoking, saying things i don’t do/lie, taking medication instead of doing other things to help it,
Fears that make me stay paralyzed.
Why not pulling the nails out?
    1. We haven’t admitted that we have one.
    Solution: speak your truth.
Instead of putting energy into protecting the nail,
    2. There’s plateau, it will get worse first when you reach the next height.

It’s a little hard for me to listen to this. Sounds great in theory, optimistic to a fault; but the reality is that you are limited by situations outside of your control. I call survivorship bias on this. Good luck to the brave young ones who dare follow this path.

    • @jego207
      @jego207 Месяц назад +1

@@fishymakesart2133 Yes, I have. One example is the period after graduation when I fully immersed myself in my passion. I soon discovered a stark difference between pursuing something for personal enjoyment and turning it into a business. I ended up burned out, financially strained, and uncertain about my future. Life happened, and mounting personal responsibilities forced me to prioritize a stable job. The harsh realities of life necessitated compromises. While I carry the ‘nail on my head’ of these past decisions, I stand firm in my decisions. When at a crossroads, I know I made the best decision available to me at that time.

@@jego207thanks for sharing. I do resonate with some of the things you said. However I would push back and say it’s important for people to recognize that while there are many things outside of their control, the reality is that there are many more things inside of their control. You see it has a lot to do with hope. If a person has lost all hope of living a better life then naturally they will feel less inclined to improve their life if even only in some small part. Yes, life is filled with its challenges. Just be careful not to make the challenges of others your own. Give thanks for your situation and seek to maximize what ever opportunities however small or big have been given to you 😊

This video overemphasizes individual effort, ignoring crucial external factors like support and resources. It risks promoting burnout by glorifying endless commitment without balance. Success is complex and not solely dependent on personal energy; this mindset sets unrealistic expectations and can lead to frustration and failure.

Okay, I think this was a very useful lecture for where I am right now. However, everyone’s facing their own amount of risk by making a decision to go all in. Not only that, everyone has a different risk tolerance that allows them to handle risk more or less than others. I want to start my own business but I will certainly not make enough money to live if I quit my FT job. I’m also in debt from schooling. So can I handle that level of risk? That is the main question I am asking myself right now. The decision would be much easier if I had two years worth of money for bills saved up.
