I've been looking at FWC storage solutions for a bit and the dolly you built is what most do. The guy I bought my Hawk from used heavy duty industrial dollys under each leg. Seemed to work just fine but I have read that FWC doesn't recommend due to layeral loads when hitting expansion joints or stones. I'd just leave on my truck but am an inch too tall to fit. Smaller tires and/or taking my leveling lift off may need to be done. Rats just when i got the truck looking and working great.

How long does it take you to pull it off and put it into the garage? I'm about to get Four Wheel Camper and am considering the same storage solution. Like the videos.....🙂

It takes me, by myself, about 25 minutes. When Kim helps, around 15. Usually we wash it before we put it in the garage, it’s easier to wash when it is on the platform. Thanks for watching we appreciate it! Hope you enjoy your camper and maybe we will see you down the road.

We have kept our Four Wheel Eagle camper on our truck for years and don't drive it much around town. We just sold our hauling trailer so we just took it off a week ago. It is stored outside on a slight cement slope with two saw-horses underneath and some thick boards on top of the saw-horses. Now we are getting an extremely unusual hurricane that will bring tropical storm winds up to 50 to 60 mph to our San Diego County neighborhood. We are going to remove the saw horses and set the camper down as low as the jacks will allow. Do you have any other ideas to stabilize it? We don't have a rolling platform to put it in the garage. Should we put a few cement blocks inside to weigh it down? Yikes! (The wife.)

If you are able to get it back on the truck and up and ready to use I would do so. It being on the truck would be the best option. Should you have to drive away and get stuck you would have shelter and necessities. You can never be too prepared. I would think the wind would be pretty strong and tip it over. Should you not be able to do that then I would get it as low to the ground as possible. Good luck! Fingers crossed for you all. Let us know what you decide to do and keep us updated how the situation develops.

@@db2overland We native Californians have never experienced anything like what may be coming. We have evacuated from our house twice (using the Four Wheel Camper) due to fires. But with this event there is nowhere to evacuate. It is most likely best to stay put. The forecast is changing constantly but we are expected to get over 2 inches of rain here. The mountains which are only 30 to 40 minutes away are expected to get 5 to 8 inches of rain. The deserts may get two year’s worth of rain at 6 inches with a lot of flash flooding. So there would be nowhere for the millions of us to go anyway.
Our camper is about 10 feet in front of a 5 to 6 foot high fence/gate and the garage is right next to that. My husband parked the truck next to the camper. We roped one of the jacks to the eyebolt in the truck. For the catercorner jack we have a heavy chain embedded in concrete that we tied around it. The forecast varies from 47 mph to 20 and back to 45 mph but only for about one hour in the middle of the night.
I’ll let you know how it comes out. Don’t know if the winds will fizzle out before getting here or not.

@@db2overland Well we are in our middle 70s. My husband had to set up tables and chairs this morning for a memorial service at our meditation center. Then we went to the memorial. But when we got back, we put the camper on the truck. It would be dumb to chance risking that investment.

We are glad you made that decision. We also hope to be camping and active like you in 20 years when we are in our 70’s. Keep a positive mindset in the storm, the sunshine is just around the corner. Good luck!
