    Awesome setup man ! It’s great to have an Indoor area to hang out and eat inside when it’s cold, exactly why I went with the GFC🤙🏽 stoked to see what you end up doing with the camper! Cheers!

    Looking forward to the build. I was subscribed to you and somehow it got dropped down to personalized I have no idea how that happened. I found out if I watch RUclips too much I get addicted so there's times I have to just walk away from it. There are some pretty entertaining sites that keep you coming back and interested but RUclips is getting so picky about what they demonetized certain videos till it's really irritating to me even though it's not my sight. Why can't people just leave us alone dammit. Again look forward to the build glad I found you again. Think about it. Stay vigilant!

    Diesel heaters are most efficient when they run over longer periods… they pull a lot of watts when starting up and take several minutes to get to temperature. They aren’t used like Buddy heaters. My advice is to let it run overnight even on it’s lowest setting unless you have fuel/power concerns. I’ve run mine for multiple days in a row.

    • @pnwxplore
      @pnwxplore  Год назад +1

      Yeah I am aware of that. Once I have battery monitoring to tell me how man Ah I am using, I’ll know if I can leave it on all night

    After watching this I am sure glad I went with the Project M model from 4 wheel campers. It’s a blank canvas to build out. I bought it from Mule who understands the importance of a water tight installation. (Many 4 wheel campers have leaks.)

    • @pnwxplore
      @pnwxplore  Год назад

      That’s great! The project M is cool. But the kind of camper doesn’t have much to do with how water tight it is or is not. It’s more about what boxes you are looking to check, and for this I wanted something I could take of the truck so I can use it as a truck. Plus the cost of this was a tiny fraction of a project M or similar. At the end of the day all campers require regular maintenance and proper practices to make them last and hold up to the elements.

    I've gotten some outrageous deals on sinks on both Craigslist and at Restore. Picked up a great stainless steel lab sink with a commercial faucet for an RV project for $10, all commercial grade stuff. And it's much deeper than anything made for RV use.

    • @pnwxplore
      @pnwxplore  Год назад

      Good call out for sure! Due to the size inside when the top is down, I need a folding sink. That unfortunately might not be easy to come by on my timeline.

      @@pnwxplore Alternative idea: install a basin and then use one those Dometic water taps (with pump built in). Just toss it in the basin when packed up. I think you can get similar devices on Amazon for cheaper but the Dometic has some nice touches.

    Nice video. I think you are going to like this setup in the long run. Look forward to seeing the changes that you make. I am curious as to why you don't just run the heater all night when it's so cold outside? I think I saw a CO detector on the wall there so you should be good on that front. Just curious. Glad to see you are healed up again and back outside. I look forward to your next video.

    • @pnwxplore
      @pnwxplore  Год назад

      Thank you! I think I will like it as well. I didn’t run the heater all night as the battery was new from Amazon and I wasn’t sure if it was fully charged. I’ll likely be running it all night in the future as I have a battery monitor that will be in the new build so I can see how much power everything it using.
      Thanks for watching!

      @@pnwxplore The drone shots are equally impressive. Prob a pain in the butt sometimes to stop & capture those shots but it adds so much. Keep it up, man!
      As a side note be sure to check with a legit lumber yard about birch plywood for your buildout. Lighter & better quality than anything you’ll ever find at Home Depot.

    Dis you need to do anything to your suspension on the tundra? I wasn’t sure how the weight of everything on a half ton would work. Nice video.

    • @pnwxplore
      @pnwxplore  11 месяцев назад +1

      No changes to suspension. It rides really good for being stock. I’ll prob add some Timbren bump stops, but that’s about it for now. Thank you!

    I would think long and hard on your cabinets, having owned a cabinet shop and rebuilt airstream trailers, you might be surprised how the cost adds up, long term maintenance on screws and vibrating moving parts and the loss of space mainly on drawers. Probably find the R-value much better with ridged foam insulation. Good luck, have fun, watch your fingers!

    • @pnwxplore
      @pnwxplore  Год назад

      There will only be really one cabinet in this. That’s to house the sink and a few drawers. There will be maximization of space in all areas.
      Not going rigid foam due to its poor qualities with sound insulation. Will be going with sheep’s wool as I liked it’s natural properties.
      Thanks man! Thanks for tuning in. Cheers!

      You know, that’s a great question! A joint channel is hard to run when you are both super busy. Def want to do some more videos there, but also can’t spread myself too thin with videos here too! ACL is doing well, was cleared to resume my normal activities. Thanks for asking!

    How did the tent hold up in Wind? Does it flap around a lot like other pop-up tents?

    • @pnwxplore
      @pnwxplore  6 месяцев назад

      Tent holds up great. This canvas is far thicker than you’ll find on essentially any pop up style RTT and it’s thicker than GFC or Super Pacific.
