Wulff Denn gotta do more skits like they did in the beginning it's hilarious
The fact that "they" didn't overplay it is great. So many youtube channels thing their skits have to be like 3-5 minutes and they just overstay their welcome.
@@JoshieboyStudios yeah I forgot what other video Wulff Denn did that the main dude had a sword and green screen and he was like "and take that!!" Was hilariously random I guess I appreciate random comedy like that but I see your point thank RUclips for the fast forward option
"What happened?"
@No. Within one’s area of expertise. The wheelhouse in baseball is a hitter’s ideal pitch zone, so that’s where the idiom comes from.
Joshieboy Studios Agreed! Less is more!
With an SN30-Pro in my bag, I can play on the Switch, my laptop, and iPad- pretty great advantage to me.
iPad? That works fine? I thought iOS 13 only really opened up for the ps4 and xbox one controller? Please enlighten me
Which version of the sn30 pro ?
The only thing I can’t play with this controller (SN30 pro) is links awakening, it keeps shutting off on the title screen, having the lite and joycon drift making it impossible to play anything I was excited to use this controller, it works just fine with animal crossing so idk why it shuts off when I try to play Zelda
@@SassyCheeseCake I know this comment is old but maybe someone will see it. Yes, it works on iOS but you have to use the accessibility feature to connect it (as a switch for disabled people) after that it works flawlessly, even better that on Apple TV (on appleTV you can just connect it as a regular BT controller)
The biggest difference I can see between the 8Bitdo and the official SNES controller is that one is always available and the other one sells out in 2 seconds and never gets a restock.
I actually don't know which is which. I've never seen trouble with the Nintendo Controller being available
@@legostar55 Neither have I
N64 Controller be like
This guy has honest reviews instead of the other channels that are overly hyped
thanks maaaaan
@No.. I got the SN30 Pro with the American color scheme (Purple instead of multi-color) and I absolutely love it. I can also use it for most Switch games (1-2-Switch and Super Mario Party being the only exceptions I know of) which is great!
JeremySheer especially rgt85 for clickbait and padding for reaching 10 minute mark
But I think he missed 1 detail about zl and at buttons in the NES and snes app
@@JeremySheer lol companies really have people so scared they won't open hardware they rightfully own, this is sad
you aren't going to get banned for fixing your switch my dude
ZL is supposed to take screenshot and ZR is supposed to be your home button on the SNES app
Holding ZL and L together takes a screenshot, ZR and R together goes to the home screen. Only in that app. I missed this when I made the video.
@@WulffDen No worries, I blame Nintendo for not including a manual with it.
@@WulffDen But does it wake the switch? My gripe with SN30 Pro is it doesn't and wired version is too short.
@@victorconcepcion3006 You don't have to press ZL+ZR to use ZL as Capture and ZR as Home. They work like that straight away in the SNES app. ZL+ZR enables the rewind function.
@@joefreedman4403 no there is no way that I've seen to wake the switch. You need to press the button on the unit itself to get out of sleep mode. Annoying, yes, but other than that it's a great controller honestly
Poor f***in plant, just knocks it off the table, wtf man. Lol
That plant has rights!!!
That poor plant had so much life left in it!
Time stamp I missed it lol.
@@tonymonteiro1081 it's the beginning.
Looks like a plastic cat grass. It's immortal.
8:00 "$50 dollars more..." you mean just $50! SN30 pro+ is only $50 on amazon.
So did I. In fact, I prefer that because in my head it makes good sense. Nin-ten-do, 8-bit-do. 3 syllables. Product relation. "Yeah, u got dat Switch. But u got dat 8bitdo?"
@@loustandards2827
I think you accidentally commented on the wrong comment.
@@NativS2002 I did. My comment was meant to be in response to someone asking about pronunciation.
@@willishere2956 You get way more value with the SN30 pro+ for $30 less. I don't know why anyone would buy a pro controller over that.
Nick Hippen ik this is a late comment, but not rly. Yes, you get more value, but, that applies if u play mostly 2D games.
I don't know why but I just.find you incredibly relaxing to watch. I enjoy you more do than any other channel talking about the same thing. Idk what it is. Maybe the format that you do or the great audio and video. It's just excellent. Thank you
LOVE that you're so passionate and knowledgeable on these controllers so I don't have to agonize, figuring it out myself.
KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!
It really makes you feel like an SNES controller
I have an 8 BitDo SN30 controller (looks exactly like the original SNES controller), but the d-pad is a bit too stiff for my liking. I replaced the rubber d-pad ring inside with one of my old SNES controllers, and it works flawlessly. I have been using the official NES Switch controllers on my Raspberry Pi 3, and I love them! Great build quality from Nintendo. As always, I always love your down to earth sincerity and honest reviews. Take care.
We’ve finally been able to order our SNES controller in the UK! I’d be happy to source the EU multi coloured button controller if you want one for the collection Bob!
I always see it sold out and douche bags on Kijiji trying to sell for like 80$ CAD
Yahshua Barrett it’s a shame that many take advantage of the demand and push for resell!
Love the quality of these controller reviews!
Purchased an Sn30 pro for playing Pokémon shield since most of Pokemon is navigating menus and the d-pad is more natural for me. Loving it so far!
Yeah the wireless 8bitdo controller with the control sticks without the handles is hands down the best one! Since it still has that novelty feel but you could still play it with other games! Essentially making every game feel like a Super Nintendo game!
FYI, they finally released a Mac version of the mod app for the Pro+.
OOOoOOoooOhhhh this is good news
Literally I was searching for a comparison between the snes switch online VS 8bitdo and wulff den vid pops up
Love your controller reviews. They are super in depth and touch all the points i wanna hear about. Keep it up! 💯
Isn't there a button combo that functions as a "Home Button" input in the SNES app?
Actually the SNES/NES apps will map ZL and ZL as screenshot/home buttons (since they won't do anything in NES/SNES games anyway) and pressing them simultaneously will bring the in-app menu
Only in the snes app though.
pupypup still would’ve been nice for Wulff to mention 😊
@Morgoth Bauglir thats cool!
The SNES controller feels better to me than 8bitDO SN30 Pro. The buttons are easier and more satisfying to press. I personally would buy again and am happy to have both controllers.
That “Crew” shot was Great 👍
that skit was the best part of this episode, I love how its like 4 versions of him wearing the same outfit, makes it funny
I've experienced the over sensitivity, but it was only activated when I slightly press up while pressing left or right. These diagonals are mis-inputs as I clearly wasn't pressing on the button in order to get a diagonal. However if you just adjust your grip, and are a bit more precise with which direction you are pressing the issue does go away. (I have an sn30pro gameboy edition if you were wondering)
Thank you for doing this! I was waiting for someone to compare the two
Are you really surprised it was Bob?
"Do you even care about a solid D Pad"
I don't even notice that it exists when switching between my Switch, my Switch Lite, and my pro controller. I just reach for the input and it does what it's supposed to (usually).
Actually, I'd take the OG SN30 over the Official SNES controller. Pressing down+select acts as the home button, and start+select acts as ZL+ZR, so you don't lose any functionality.
OG SN30 has the d-pad permanently acting as a thumbstick and you can't change it. This is bad for games like Kirby.
This really helped me. Was debating which one I should buy. Thank you!!!
SN30 8bit do is the only controller I use. I love it, it’s also portable for tabletop mode. I leave my joycons at home because it makes the Switch too bulky. I’ve not used my pro controller either since I got the 8bit do one. They are an amazing company. Even the packaging was spot on.
These vids are super informative and so so well made. I've come to appreciate your input on anything Nintendo made and it's helped with quite a few purchases of mine! Please keep it up.
Best controller reviews, like a new age classic game room. Great work man!
Sn30 pro + is $50 not "$50 more." (Just to help, love your chanel!)
Your intros have gotten so good lately. Keep it up.
I just love these videos so much, keep up the amazing work!
If you want to have the completely authentic feel and a home button... The gbros adapter works with the classic controller. And if you hold select and up it toggles the dpad.
On the regular SN30 you can go back to the emulator menu with Start + Select, and you can also use do the home button by pushing Down and Select. Just a heads up!
(You can also start Mario Maker with it, using L+R)
That Saturn style controller got my interest. I'm looking that one up!
Love this channel. It is quickly becoming my favorite. ❤️
I bought the SN30 pro, the one they don’t sell anymore because of Nintendo copyright reasons. And I use it for everything I can because it’s my hands down favorite controller.
This nso controller paired with 8bitdo Bluetooth dongle plugged into SNES classic console is perfection
Let's hope Uncle Nintendie doesn't sue 8-Bitdo for copying their homework.
Wow, great review. I've been using the SNES30 Pro for a few months now on emulators and Zelda BOTW/River City Girls. It's solid for an aftermarket. I'm wowing how Nintendo dropped the ball so heavily on this and seems like an afterthought
Hey man this is the first, maybe second video I've seen from you. So I'm new to your channel. How many folks do you have working for you, with editing and all that? Your presentation, editing, camera work, and script are top notch. This could be a show on TV. Too bad I never play Nintendo (I watched this cuz I have the 8bitdo SN30+ Pro). Anyway, well done.
Man, your guy's intros are really good.
OH! I thought it was pronounced 8-Bit "DOH" like Nintendo. DOH!
I’m pretty sure it is.
@@ripjammer No, 8BitDo themselves announced that it was pronounced the other way.
I guess it's so they the name sounds different from Nintendo.
@@Maple_MK they probably said that after Nintendo sent the yakuza
Even if it's pronounced 8 bit "doh," I don't think he cares. Hell, he pronounces Mario as Mary-O and realtor as real-uh-tor.
ULTRA KWON Because that’s how you pronounce those words properly
Not gonna lie you have become the only place I go to checkout my Nintendo switch stuff. Others do okay but I’m equally entertained and informed by you. Thank you 🙏🏽
Thanks for the review it's nice to see a video that actually answers the question everyone actually had on this
Finally the comparison video I wanted and you made it happen Beatemups!!! Thanks!!!
sn30pro+ is my fav controller of all time. it's like if super Nintendo and PlayStation had a baby. and that baby was able to play video games on literally every device
8:49 I love how this is the most replayed part of the video and I went to watch this video just to see the same part lmao
Finally... what took you so long!!! You sway my final opinion on most everything to do with my Switch!
I like the extra production value you put into you videos rather than just talking in front of the camera with a background the whole time. More digestible. Thanks
I love that beginning bit.
I barely watch this guy, but that intro was hilarious, man. 😂
This guy's energy made me watch this vid all the way through
"This guy" is one of my FAVORITE RUclipsrs!!
Yeah this guy is dope. Wish he did all the videos lol
@No. No he doesn't
Great video a bought the plus a few days ago i was worried you were about to make me buy another controller
The rewind feature uses the zr and zl and I've learned to abuse it for better or worse
What the fuck is the point of a game where you can just rewind it? There's zero challange or sense of achievement and you don't even have to use any skill at all... what's even the point? You might as well watch a video of someone else playing it. It's just cheating your way through with tool assistance. It's so dumb. Might as well use a cheat code to skip to the end credits 😂
@@TG-kt9vg It seems like it just defeats the purpose of a game for me
Weir everywhere! NFA
8bitdo sn30 pro+ is hands down my fav controller next to my Astro c40. Comfort + nostalgia. Great vid, I was on the fence.
That intro was legendary.
"Do you even care about a solid D Pad?"
- Yes, more than any other feature on a controller, and this has made the last two decades of console gaming rather frustrating!
- Also, thanks for helping me feel better about not being able to get my hands on this official SNES Switch controller in the UK. I already have the 8bitdo options, so now I'm not bothered as much about "missing out". I was only after the D Pad anyway!
I've been waiting for this video!
Depending on your setup you can reach over to your docked switch with the joy-cons connected and press the home button there
The production quality on this lad
Holy shitducks, you're always super detailed and put so much effort into your videos. I'll never unsubscribe. Thank you as always
Yo I love your sense of humor and your ability to talk to well. If that makes sense lol. I just want to thank you for making so much content. I have been consuming alot of it.
Ur consuming his content? Tf
Thrown shade aside about missing the Home Button feature in the SNES app, you're 100% right about the controller primarily being a collector's item, especially in comparison to the SN30 Pro, which I've already bought thanks to one of your earlier videos. 😉
I use my Nintendo SNES pad regardless of the lack of home button. Frustrating sometimes yes but I just keep the joy cons on hand.
God damn man you have the best skits for your vids. And that's why I'mmmmmmmmm a supporter 👌🐺
🤗
That intro was golden.
Couldn't agree more. With the 8bitdo controller you get a home button, screenshot button, a functional zl&zr, along with dual analog sticks that still feel good when you're playing games outside of 2D/retro style games, and the D-Pad seems to be superb on mine (doesn't favor diagonal inputs). My one and only personal gripe is the position of the analog sticks, and that's simply because I have larger hands/fingers. Playing super metroid, the left analog stick sometimes gets in the way when going for the select button to switch to missiles/super missiles/etc. As far as pairing issues are concerned...read the instructions that come with the controller and don't be dumb 😂👍
So..... How many SNES style controllers do you have now??
yes!
GIVE ME MORE ლಠ益ಠ)ლ
@@WulffDen Wood and you should make a battle
Who has more controller?
@@WulffDen which ones your favorite?
Love it definitely getting an 8bitdo. Thanks
I feel like the snes generation was the first generation where the top video game companies both had awesome controllers. The Genesis bean controller is one of my favorite controllers ever. And the snes controller was flawless at the time
I just realized I need this in my life for SNES emulation on the PC
3:50 My fix for the crappy D-pad on the 8bitdo was to replace it with a legit SNES one (from a broken controller). It works perfectly after that, no weird stickers
ZL and ZR buttons work as home and screen capture buttons in the SNES app.
Works the wired SN30 Pro with Windows plug&play? Or do you need to install any tools for that?
BEST INTROS ON RUclips only on the wulffden!
2:33 - same thing happens when you use the NES controller with the NES app. The side bar changes colors.
I agree, Bob. Not being able to use the D-Pad on my 8BitDo is THE major flaw of Link's Awakening! Dozens of times out of instinct and muscle memory I've tried pressing the D-Pad.
I need 2 SN30 with thumbsticks, but sadly the only available style is "not the one I'd prefer". I hope I can find a pair of them :D
The 8bitdo DIY kits for the snes classic or original controllers is so much better. You get a Nintendo original controller with home button, swapable dpad (can switch to either analog stick), also can swap face buttons too. Plus can use on other devices as well.
ZL and ZR on the SNES online, are used as the home button and the screen shot.
I like the 8BITDO arcade stick to play with, want to do that mix box mod you did on it.
I've been using the sn30 pro plus for about 3 weeks now. Fantastic controller. This might sit on a shelf
It's also worth noting that the 8bitdo controllers can connect to windows, android, etc. A leg up like this should be noted for the 5 extra dollars that the 8bitdo replicas offer
ZR acts as a home button.
For me, the Nintendo controller just feels right and exactly as a SNES pad is. 8bitdo SN30 is close, very close. But their buttons arent convex enough and are far too clicky which SNES buttons never ever were. In addition, both Dpads feel a little tight due to them being brand spankers but the Dpad plastic on the 8bitdo felt slightly too hard to me.
Nintendo controller wins out since I am one picky mofo.
SN30 can use ZL and ZR by pressing Start and Select at the same time. It also can use the home button by pressing Down and Select.
Love 8bitDo.. I bought their old NES30 a while back and I can't find another one anywhere.. just the new ones.. great controllers!
With just an adaptor I use the classic mini controllers both the NES/SNES ones. I bought some 8bitdo controllers for everything else.
i never had a problem wih 8bitdo until i tried axiom verge where you have to double tap a direction to walk through walls. the 8bitdo would take several tries to sucessfully pull it off.
I definitely have had an issue with the d-pad on 8bitdo controllers, but my understanding is that it's been fixed. It's not something you'll notice on a lot of games but if you play any Mario games and find yourself unable to crouch slide, then you'll see the problem. I did the ring fix and added a couple small layers in the center underneath the pivot ball and it works perfectly now and feels excellent. FWIW my controllers are the ones analogue sold with the SuperNT, which was before 8bitdo allegedly fixed their d pads. Definitely well worth the money though, even if I had to tinker to get it perfect.
They haven't. Not on any Snes style controllers. We need a SN30 refresh.
I got my original styled, EU coloured SF 30 Pro (cause I'm Aussie), which I swapped out the dpad with the gameboy one with the nice grooves, so it's got the best of everything. I'm good with that 👍
I get that this probably won't get seen, but does this controller (or any of the 8bitdo ones) work on the Lite? I haven't seen anything specifically stating that they do. I'd hate to drop money for a controller and it not work. Would I be better off just getting a Switch Pro controller?
I just want an N64 controller from Nintendo just to play FF7 with it out of irony purposes.
actually I want nintendo to make the nintendo 64 online, because maybe 8bitdo will re-sale the wireless n64 controller they made in 2016, I was searching for this controller and i couldn't find anywhere.
Using a wireless SNES Wii controller on my switch for SNES games currently, but wouldn't mind getting one of those
I’ve spend most of my gaming life in the wiimote era, I miss that d-pad. Need to get one for smm2 thought I don’t think the pro controller thumb sticks are going to cut it.
im addicted to theese videos
The 8bitdo M30's dpad can be mapped to a stick which is an amazing feature.
I just got an official SNES controller and can now notice how much input lag my 8bitdo sf30 pro has in comparison 😱
Finally someone asking my questions!
You gotta do more of those intro skits in your vids there funny
Literally bought the SN30PRO to play MMX collection and I'm very glad you felt similarly enough to display it on this video. Can't do the whole dash with R thing either, can you?
