Gen 3 Switch in AI has a couple weird quirks. With Pichu, switch in AI first looks for super-effective moves. It sees no SE attacking moves so it goes for Spikes on Cloyster which is a tier 2 ground move. After killing Cloyster, there are no more moves that are SE on Pichu, so it next looks for STAB moves. But there's a bug - it looks for STAB of the DEAD mon! Killing Cloyster then baits Slowbro because it is the next in line with STAB of Cloyster, namely water moves. Lapras has a Water move whereas Jynx has no Psychic or Water move for Slowbro's STAB to bait it out. Thus Lapras is baited due to having Bro's Water STAB leaving Jynx for last. It's also why Haunter comes out last on Agatha - it has no super effective move on Pichu and the others all share poison STAB.
For the record Im like 99% sure people watching these would watch you narrate just about anything, its honestly your personality and quality style that I come to watch, often times in spite of the content, not because of it.

22:55 you're correct that healing items are retroactive in gen 1, but you are incorrect that thunderbolt would have gone first and killed muk before koga had a chance to use the potion. In gen 1, he would have used the potion the same turn that thunderbolt put him into red.
The battle against Brock takes me back to my pokemon yellow days. Pretty much my first rpg and I struggled hard. Eventually only winning with Rattata because I was unbelievably lucky in that every attack from Onyx missed.
I've always headcanoned that pre-evolved Pokémon kept from evolution keep growing as they level up - so I'm definitely imagining this pichu as ending the run as tall as a man.
I'd love to see a hard-core nuzlock from you on a game with good ai. (Catch only first encounter in each area, if any pokemon faint the they are dead forever, no over-leveling gym leaders) I'm interested to see what strategies you would use to manipulate encounters, and how you would stratigicly use the pokemon at your disposal
I get so much anxiety seeing Pichu trying to evolve after every level-up. Sure, you could always just go back to the last save if you forget... But it just feels like there's so much pressure to remember.
I'm just waiting for one of these runs for him to have to redo some of it because he forgot to stop it evolving. I feel like it has to happen at some stage.
I didn't think i would be able to enjoy videos about the same game over and over and over where you pretty much follow the exact same route with minor tweaks until I came across your chanel Jrose
If you're going to level 100 I think you should just do the damage calcs to save yourself the time, trial and error; nothing's gonna change at that point, nothing further is at stake other than time figuring out how often something works.

I won't ever know if it's the way you say things, your voice or whatever but I really like how clear your words end up in my head. Sometimes I wish you were my teacher so I could understand everything XD
I replay your old videos for not only the voice but it's also because I respect the amount of effort you put into these videos. Sometimes I use them as podcasts as well whenever I want to have something to listen to. Thank you for the rare gift!
What better way to start the morning than with the adventures of Jrose and Rival Five-al?
i love how the first gym leader is always the hardest in this runs lmao
18:50 Tense battle!
21:42 Well this is a surprise.
56:36 Lol, congrats.
Decent run! Thanks for uploading!
I'm very excited to see you take on Gen 3! You discovered the Ditto Boost, so let's see what else you'll discover. Cheers!
This is like a Nega-run where Bruno and the Rival's Rhydon are the thing holding you back. That straight up never happens in Red/Blue because Earthquake is underutilised by them.
Watched it without food, but had a great time. Enjoyed seeing you use different strategies such as Substitute.
I was eating crackers and nearly choked when I heard "red and blueno". Another banger pun from jrose11!
Pichu, Pichu she’s our mon. ✨
If she can’t do it, maybe every other mon can. ✨
Let’s go, Pichu!
I wonder if rival 6’s exact team could even beat the elite 4
Man im sure youve heard it a trillion times, but thank you for your content. You're truly one of a kind :) always fall asleep to your vids and wake up to them lol!
Less than 6 minutes in and you already call a Tail Whip a Leer and a Thunder Wave a Thunderbolt!!!
Gotta leave those mistakes in for the extra interaction eh? I get it...
Love the vids! Keep up the good work
This is one of my favourite ever videos of yours. And I think I've watched all of the solo challenges multiple times. Top quality, always.
When Koffing used "Smoke tree" at 22:40 And it failed.. I felt that
Jrose11 is that rare pokemon that is so awesome I don't care how long I have to wait to catch one of his videos! These runs are pure gold, thanks for taking the time and effort to make them.
Jrose came in clutch to save my weekend
Literally made up a whole anime in my head about you and your godlike pichu while watching this. Imagined it using afterimages to attack when you used substitute for example. Idk I'm nuts. Awesome run.
I would so watch it if it was real
I keep binging this channel, MDB, and Pikasprey and their pokemon challenges and now I wanna do one lmao. These vids are great for picking up strats and learning new shit about pokemon code
He said “2 gyms in 13 minutes usually isn’t ideal”, pretty sure he meant 13 hours, but it was 13 minutes into the video 🤔
Yeah I was confused about that haha
He meant 13 minutes into the video I'm pretty sure. It's not the first time he's referenced the exact current length of the video.
No he meant 13 minutes not 13 hours
Once you hit a Certain point in the game you can basiclly only fight the gym leaders skipping everything else so It only takes 13 minutes
Sidenote: have you Never played that game it takes 13 hours to play the INTIRE GAME on a CASUAL RUN and he wants to be fast and don’t catch a lot of Pokémon and Train all of those and stuff
You would have to be the most terrible player in the world to take 13 hours for just 2 gyms
@@dummdomm8500 he is using a pichu dude, this isn't a casual run and brock is very luck based and you need alot of grinding, and for misty he defeated her after doing vermillion stuff so he could actually mean 13 hours
@@dummdomm8500 man you just insulted my 4 year old self playing Pokémon blue for the first time. :(
36:06 Ah yes my favorite Pokémon game, Blueno edition.
Everyone should play as Bruno at least once
Using Protect to cuck the Venusaur was hilarious!
Imagine a Pichu seismic tossing a Venasaur
You know there's a storm coming when he beat Giovanni and there is still nearly half the video left.
For the record Im like 99% sure people watching these would watch you narrate just about anything, its honestly your personality and quality style that I come to watch, often times in spite of the content, not because of it.
Every time I saw "STOP THE COUNT" on Twitter I thought of you lol
This is how Game Freak thought people were playing their games when they decided back-to-back Pichu distribution events in HG/SS was a wise idea
Watching this while I ride my bike through hearthome, waiting for my Pichu to reach max friendship so I can evolve it for my Nuzlocke run of Platinum. Thank you, Jrose11 ❤️
Recently been going back through all these classic series. What a legend JRose is
Best feeling when you subscribe to a channel, and just hours later a new video to get lost in :)
You make quarantine so enjoyable Jrose, we really appreciate what you do and don't stop!!!! (maybe Spheal in pokemon Emerald?)
I can hear the desperation in Jrose's voice as he begins battling Giovanni! 😂
I just clicked on the video. I guess he must have at least level 90 to beat the champ. I'll be back in 1 hour
wuau, level 90 and no earth badge
@@mastrorick lol
22:55 you're correct that healing items are retroactive in gen 1, but you are incorrect that thunderbolt would have gone first and killed muk before koga had a chance to use the potion. In gen 1, he would have used the potion the same turn that thunderbolt put him into red.
congrats on 200k. you are one of my favorite youtubers. i love your content so much. keep up the good and creative work.
“Loooooong ways away”
*22 minutes later*
Pichu is level 100 for the first time
The battle against Brock takes me back to my pokemon yellow days. Pretty much my first rpg and I struggled hard. Eventually only winning with Rattata because I was unbelievably lucky in that every attack from Onyx missed.
I get so psyched when I see you upload these videos . thanks for all the hard work you put into them!
I've always headcanoned that pre-evolved Pokémon kept from evolution keep growing as they level up - so I'm definitely imagining this pichu as ending the run as tall as a man.
I'd love to see a hard-core nuzlock from you on a game with good ai. (Catch only first encounter in each area, if any pokemon faint the they are dead forever, no over-leveling gym leaders)
I'm interested to see what strategies you would use to manipulate encounters, and how you would stratigicly use the pokemon at your disposal
I feel like JRose would probably manage to do it deathless.
I missed your amazing videos :)) glad to see you back! Premium content as always!!
I get so much anxiety seeing Pichu trying to evolve after every level-up.
Sure, you could always just go back to the last save if you forget...
But it just feels like there's so much pressure to remember.
I bet you got beat up a lot as a kid.
I'm just waiting for one of these runs for him to have to redo some of it because he forgot to stop it evolving. I feel like it has to happen at some stage.
He had an everstone in his bag, he probably had Pichu hold it outside of any major battles
@@jayvardy I bet you get beat up a lot now.
Jrose11 your content is legendary man. Your followers are loyal! Keep up the great work... or not! Whatever you feel is best for you
Looks like a good hidden power ice would have been really useful!
Funny that your name is Phil"freeze"CH
You do a great job with the commentary, on top of skillful gameplay. I really enjoy these challenge runs!
It’s only been a few seconds after you’ve posted, but I hope “beat you with Pichu” was used at least once.
So glad to see this after a long week at work. Thanks for the upload, JRose ❤️
26:20 “Giovanni isnt a gym leader”
Then lists him as the final gym leader xD
I know at that battle he wasnt a gym leader but the irony of him saying that was just too funny :3
Found your channel today.
I'm a huge fan of the format of your videos. Thanks for the content.
The CHEESE with final Venusaur oh my goodness. I can’t believe I didn’t realize that sooner
24:10 I legit thought for a second he taught a Meowth Fly
