Almost half way there. That's pretty cool. Also, for Conversion. Even if the AI isn't silly, you're trading 33% of the damage you deal on STAB for a 50% damage reduction from the opponent's best attacks. And with the AI manipulation stuff, you can trick the AI into just not using its good moves at all. Sounds pretty strong to me, even if coverage and buffs are more important. And that's without factoring that you're not using normal type attacks much with Porygon. Mathematically, you gain a number of turns by using it against any opponent that isn't one-shot by your attacks.
Conversion was useful in gen 7 because it could be powered up into Z-conversion, which would change your type (usually into ghost for the fighting immunity) and give you an omni boost (+1 to all stats).
Porygon is such a cool Pokémon and I’m happy to see you using it in its original form! Spoilers below: I did have some thoughts (not necessarily criticisms). Still in Vermillion during this comment, but I actually think Conversion could be super useful. These solo runs are usually tough because you have fewer options. But Conversion gives you room for a little extra strategy in battle.
I was really excited to see you do a solo run for Porygon since near the beginning of the Red/Blue solo series. Porygon really doesn't get a lot of love in general, so it's really nice to see some love here. That being said, it's interesting to see the challenges Porygon faces compared to other Pokémon. Having only normal-type moves really is a pain when facing Brock. 😅 Also, you really went crazy trying to defeat Surge without healing; it'd be so much easier to just walk to the Pokémon center and heal to get rid of that burn. In addition, it seems like Porygon struggles the most with Kadabra/Alakazam. It's pretty cool to see Porygon rank 26 on the tier list so far. I also like names you gave to your character(Polygon) and your Rival(Sprite).

Could be, for example, Tri Attack from Celadon Department Store. Thanks for the great content. I always learn a lot about gen 1 in your videos!
I had the same thought. He doesn’t need Psychic for the Champion so Tri Attack or Double Edge would make it way easier.
I did miss your videos, because I often use them to fall asleep... Now don't gimme wrong, i don't mean that they are boring, it is more that i feel confortable watching your vids and your voice now feel reassuring to me after all this years, and i love the feeling of rediscovering a game I deeply cherish
Just a comment i hope you will see, to let you know that you are important to an insomniac stranger
Still in Vermillion during this comment, but I actually think Conversion could be super useful. These solo runs are usually tough because you have fewer options. But Conversion gives you room for a little extra strategy in battle.
Looking at its move pool the TMs it gets access to should make conversation obsolete.
These videos are my comfort watch always now. Made an 11 hour drive way more tolerable listening to these. Thanks bruh!
Do muk next!!
Good idea i want him to do rhydon
Omg the colour palate on this is epic! Thanks Jose!
I have nothing to sat but I'm happy to see an upload from you :)
This ff content hitting different. Glad to see more Jrose content!!
I've been waiting for this one! Can't wait to watch this on my commute
Holy moly a new video!? 🎉 I've been stuck watching past videos thinking I'll never see new content! THESE ARE AMAZING THANK YOU!!!❤❤❤
this was a fantastic video, really had me questioning everything with the philosophy of it all
I loved this video. I never did like Porygon when Red/Blue came out, but come Gen 4, I absolutely loved Porygon-Z, so seeing this video of Porygon winning has made me happy. Great work!
Im super late to this video, but man do I love Porygon! I wish more people would recognize the Goat! Thanks for the great video!
What is the song playing at 33:10? I'm having a hard time finding it.
I'm so glad to hear that you're going to do all Gen1 Pokémon! Can't wait to see the finished tier list
im breathing the videos from jrose like its air, keep up with your content, we love it
oh my god those colors. well done!
omg thank you for changing the color scheme, I was just gonna listen to this one.
I've been asking for a Porygon run for while. Thank you for running it, that was awesome!
porygon was actually the second run i did after i started watching your channel; i got 7:14 and ended up at lv. 64, but i do leave battle anims on (and have nowhere near the accumen that you do, lol). nice run!
Thank you JRose for the video. Today is full of housework and etc for me, so having a new JRose video really makes the day much, much more enjoyable
I am pumped for your next run. You are getting there towards all 150!
This was a much calmer and more subdued JRose. Also, love that new Subscribe graphic.
