Thanks so much for the mention guys! Super kind of you and we're in great company too! The standard size (37mm) has a quartz movement and the larger (45mm) has a Swiss automatic mechanical movement 😊
You have a new fan and buyer! Will be going through your store as soon as I finish work.
Love your watches! Awesome to see new watchmakers brought to light
Such unique and cool stuff mate

Hello! We really appreciate the mention of our aqua sunburst chronograph. You're correct in saying the 'England' refers to the fact the watch is designed by us in England. Thanks for all the praise and it's lovely reading through lots of very kind comments too!
That is a stunning watch
where can i find this gem??
Oh my god! You guys have a new fan. LOVE the quirky and different look of your watches.
Breath of fresh air in a market where most companies copy one another. Reminds me of Brew watches and Depancel.
Beautiful!
That “A Perfectly Useless Afternoon” is definitely a conversation starter!
Citizen is obsessed with producing 42mm+ timepieces. I wish they made more of their designs in ~38-40mm cases.
I agree.
Yup. I was eyeing their Super Titanium Eco drive gada beater and I could have accepted the bland dial, but that size...
42mm is perfect size essecially on my 8.5in wrist! But a few smaller ones would be nice to...
It's an issue within the watch market in general. Watches have become too big.
What was wrong with the smaller designs from the 50s and 60s?
I'm a big Eco-Drive fan, and I share your wish for sure. I do find that a lot of their designs do wear smaller than stated, and I feel I can carry those off despite my 6.75" wrist. But yeah, many are just too big for a lot of people.
1. This was a fun one. Made me smile and a really nice start to a mundane Monday.
2. Tom’s Citizen dive watch should read “06” at the bottom, for symmetry and pissing everyone off. 3. Mr Jones was a mic drop pick, and Mr Hands knows it. Well played sir.
i like trains
Yes you do
Understandable
I drive trains!
@@OwynDavies so cool
Ball Watch Co: 👀
Cool to see Mr. Jones on here, they have been doing great work for years
That "Useless Afternoon" watch is rather nice :-)
Andrew you definitely were getting crushed by Tom until you pulled A Perfectly Useless Afternoon watch out of the bag. It certainly is a conversation starter. Too bad you popped the budget limit. Win to Tom.
I would give you my configuration: PRX Quartz- casual/everyday, Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical- adventure watch, Orient Mako II Automatic-summer/diver, Gshock DW5600-beater/work, Casio A159 gold -dress watch. You got automatic, mechanical, quartz, japanese, swiss, heritage, utility, versatility, history-all absolute icons and classics, variety in colours, a little bit more than $1000, but if you get them in sales you probably fit in the budget.
I never considered Geckota watches before, but that pick you guys made is a very nice discovery. This was fun. More please. Greetings from MX
Love that a Casio has been mentioned for pilots. I'm a pilot up in the Yukon, Canada and I use the Casio AE-1200 "Casio Royale" as my everyday flyer. Easy to read, great "lume" for the long arctic nights, and quick GMT function available for all of the conversions we have to do for UTC. I actually don't love it's looks and prefer analog watches, but I don't know what would beat it as a true pilot tool watch.
Some great choices from you both but I've got to give it to Tom, that Mondaine was lovely
Mr Jones Watches are awesome 👍🏼
😀 thank you!
@@MrJonesWatches1 And thank you for making awesome watches! The Last Laugh and the King always bring a smile to my face!
Mr Jones watches are so cool!! Their designs are so unique and different to everyone else. Watches like that will get a lot more attention than the likes of Rolex and Omega
The only thing I can't stand is the weird inward pointed stick lugs they use on their watches. Once I noticed I can't stop looking at those awkward lugs.
Thank you!
Big fan of Mr jones Watches! I own the ascendant and I love it! Glad to ear you talking about it
I really like Mr Jones watches. They are true hidden gems in the watch world
So pleased you love it 😀
I do enjoy the Mr jones. I've always found it pleasing to the eye. Great video guys!
The Useless Afternoon ruins every other video like this you guys make, because this one will win against anything, unbeatable
Do this same format but a watch for 1000, watch for 2000 and so on. And you can pick which ammount you spend in which category
Tom wins on the Pilot watch alone 😆
Good stuff
Guys, this is really a great hunt video - great to see microbrands such as Geckota and Mr Jones getting the attention they really deserve! The Timex x Pan Am collab was really such a great salute to that iconic airline brand that was sold out in such a short period of time (though I managed to get one!). 😊
Still convinced that an IWC big pilot
The timex is not sold out
@@Thepackman1997 certainly looks like it
@@opykanoba8367 what country is Timex x Pan Am still available? Certainly sold out in US and UK
The Mr Jones also has sapphire as well as being "a right laugh" for 195 sheets. New to me and I love it.
Baby G as a Pilotswatch .... that creativity deserves an Oscar
I loove Mr. Jhones watches they are absolutely a watch
My 5 categories are: 1)Dress and tuxedo- Seiko Tank, 2)Field-Citizen Eco, 3)Diver-Citizen Eco, 4)Work office-Orient Bambino, 5)Gardening and home improvement-Casio G-Shock solar. The field will work as your weekender and the diver as your vacation. The only mechanical is the work office watch where you can get into a 5 day morning routine of setting correct +/- time. The rest I just want to grab and go. No?
Some really great watches in this video. Thanks for the great watch content
I thought a little while about my ideal 5 watch collection for 1000$. Here's my list.
1) Diver: Invicta 8926OB. OK, bare with me, bare with me! We all "love" to hate Invicta, but this one is not half bad. It looks not bad, it has a movement that can withstand a nuke (Seiko NH35), costs 100E, and looks fairly classy. Not gaudy, at all. Has the lumed pip, has applied indices, and 200 meters of water resistance. Seriously, lots of bang for the buck.
2) Chronograph: Sugess Moonphase Chronograph. 240 bucks, but with a handwound movement that's nicely finished, some decent water resistance and a LOT of heritage (after all, the Seagull movements are based on the Venus movements).
3) Pilot: Orient RA-AC0H01L10B. What a name, but damn. This is the perfect Pilot's watch. It's 200 bucks but with so much bang for the buck.
4) Dress: Orient Bambino. search a little bit and BAM, you'll find this for 100 euro's.
5) Wild Card: Fine... Let's go. I spent 640 so far, leaving me with 360 euro's to go. I'm going for the new Seiko GMT. Search hard and you can find this for 400E, but otherwise I'm just a little bit over budget, by something like 100E. If you don't like this watch because of some issues I think are highly overblown by people who expect a Rolex for the price of a steak dinner, I'd go with a Citizen CA0650-82F. Costs 236 euro's (seriously, this is insane), but with an eco drive, sapphire crystal, great dial, chronograph. The leftover 100E in the budget, I'd spend on getting a different diver than the Invicta, likely an Orient again. Orient is just so much bang for the buck.
This is my list. I think I'd rather have all of these classic timepieces with proven movements than anything with a battery (except for my backup Wild Card)
Super fun video this time! Thanks for the Mr Jones heads up, I immediately checked them out and bought the Perfectly Useless Evening version. Thanks!
Thanks so much! 😀
G-Shock and Mr. Jones. Best show yet!
For a Casio pilot watch, you should have picked the Casio World Time, aka Casio Royale because pilots need to keep track of multiple timezones and this Casio does it perfectly
The aqua dial is beautifull. Thanks for showing it.
THANK YOU SO MUCH !!! ❤️ This collection shows how much you truly love watches (All watches). My gf will 100% agree that the lazy afternoon watch is me in a nutshell 😄
Thank you for introducing us to these watches. I immediately went to their website and bought one. I got a Rolex OP41 last year but I’m more excited about this Lazy Afternoon watch.
I love the inspiration for this watch “'If you can spend a perfectly useless afternoon in a perfectly useless manner, you have learnt how to live”.
Thank you! I hope you enjoy it 😀
@@MrJonesWatches1 I received it yesterday, perfect timing as today I’m flying to LA for a much needed vacation. Guess which watch I’ll be wearing all trip! 😃
This watch on a yellow rubber strap is just 💋
I opted for the quartz cause the automatic was a bit too bulky and the case seemed more serious than fun.
Mr Jones is amazing. Best brand in existence right now aside from Lange.
Thank you!
Excellent video! The Casio diver is an excellent choice! Well done gentlemen 🙂
Orient Kamasu, Orient Bambino, Seagull 1963, Vostok Amphibia and the G Shock Rangeman. All under $1000 AND the G Shock is the most expensive lol.
11:05 for a second I thought I was listening to one of James Acaster's absurd bits there 😂love it!
That perfectly useless afternoon is great, I own it and it’s more of a conversation starter than any of the serious stuff we crave. Also fun distraction for yourself. Nicely executed as well, only downside for me is the transition from lug to bracelet at the push pin. On the mesh strap (which has some play at the built-in push pin) it first seemed slightly misaligned, while it isn’t. Not noticeable on leather though and I don’t notice it as much in the mesh anymore as well.
The Mondaine in 35mm is a fantastic unisex dress watch for those with smaller wrists. Can often find them in the sale at John Lewis for £100ish pounds with sapphire crystal
Happy to see Geckota getting some love. Great brand!
The Mondaine reminds me a great deal of Dieter Rams' Braun watches.
I was expecting Tom to have a Citizen Tsuyosa on his list 🙂
I honestly think the pool watch is the winner!
A perfectly useless afternoon would win on it's own
That Tissot chrono "ticks twice per 2 seconds" does it? So... once per 1 second then?
Really love these type of videos. Please keep them coming
Yes a virtual tie. Mr. Jones "rubber ducky" and the Pan Am are now on my list.
I love that Pan Am Timex. Strongly considering one, it shows that Japan doesn't have an absolute stranglehold on affordable class.
Thank you, wasn't aware that there's a panda PRS516 Tissot. Guess I'll be making a trip to the AD. Have the older model 516 black dial. They are quite big watches, which sLove.
Certainly, nobody asked, but I got the itch to go that way together with Andrew and Tom. So 5 watch collection for $1000:
1) Dive watch - Orient Kamasu. There is no better sub 200$ diving watch, then 269$ Kamasu.
2) Chronograph - Citizen CA7040-85E Metropolitan Chrono. Eco-drive, quirky, fun. 180$
3) Pilot watch - Vostok Komandirskie 030935 - Good for piloting, swimming, snorkeling/diving, space travel, lava surfing and, obviously, remembering that there are 24 hours in one day. Great pick, I guess. And also dirt cheap. You can get one with delivery for 130$ I will add 50$ for a really nice nato strap, because the bracelet is... specific. All in all 180$.
4) Dress watch - Seiko Titanium SUR369. It is Seiko, it is titanium and it has 69 in the name of the watch. How can it get better? Oh, Amazon sells in for 159$ right now. 169 would be more suitable, but I'm okay with that.
5) Wild card - Q Timex Reissue Falcon Eye 38mm, Green. It has to be green. If it is not green, it cannot be named a watch in 2020-s, right. Anyway I find it very cool and playful + gives me a bit of vintage chills. 179$
All in all 967. So we can drop a Casio AE1200 there as well.
69 watch? yes please
YOU GUYS ARE FABULOUS 😍🔥
Need more Mr Jones Watches content! 😍😍😍
😀
Another great piece! Sorry to hear about your Queen. What are the watches that the Royals wear?
Lovely stuff. I’m about to buy a blue Mondain!
Ha the Mondaine crown is the Super Mario 'm' emblem.
Excellent video! Not sure how Timex did a collaboration with Pan Am as the company is no longer in business. Pan Am filed for bankruptcy in January of 1991 and Delta Air Lines purchased the remaining assets of Pan Am.
The Pan Am name belongs to Pan Am Systems which is a rail transport and manufacturing company recently purchased by CSX. Pan Am Systems was previously Guilford Transportation Industries when they bought the defunct Pan Am name.
Much like other popular company trademarks like Atari a good trademark never really dies even if the original company that made it is long gone.
Good sightings for that money. That aqua dial chrono was pretty nice. If only it was an automatic
I want the Mr Jones watch now
Great video 👏🏼 Finally Citizen get some love from you guys and that's great. Good choice Andrew for choosing the Promaster series, I have the green dial and because of the small lug size even I can pull it off on my 6.5 wrist as my everyday watch. Geckota is also a good mention and I like their designs. Another great mention, Mr. Jones with their unique cool designs. Loved Mondaine from Tom's selection. I hope to see a microbrands only episode in this format too, the British brands are going strong in that segment.
I almost thought the last watch , was a Dragonball Radar watch .
I have “The accurate” by Mr.Jones watches. By far my favorite watch in my collection.
Holy shit over 800k sub! I subbed when it was about 100k and this channel just exploded! Congrats!
Andrew wins on the diver. Tom crushed it on every other category. I mean a special edition Pan Am .. and a Mondaine. And managed to fit a Tissot chrono in? Winner winner chicken dinner
The G-shock for the pilot's watch is dead on. I work in aviation and pilot's seem to heavily favor that or a smart watch.
This man might have the best voice I've ever heard. I didn't know I needed a baby G Summer Loving GShock Pilots watch before, but I'm in.
Andrew's ProMaster is a great diver and blows Toms out of the water for actual diving (pun intended). However, since Andrew failed to choose the Casio World Timer as the pilots watch and going over by $100 in doing so, I have to give the win to Tom for following the rules 😂
Getting some good ol’ Top Gear vibes from this one! Very much appreciated sirs
The logo on the Timex’s crown looks great.
Check out Mondaine Stop2go watches ;)
And Mr Jones warches are like a breath of fresh air 😜
I wish you would have provided a model list above.
Tom smoked you on this one…. I’m not buying the baby G shock pilot watch sell. Love the channel guys 👍🏻
Great video. Absolutely hilarious.
Guys, I recently bought a Spinnaker "Hull" in blue. You should do a vid on this brand - really nice, well made automatics at a very reasonable price....
Did they both predict the other would pick something with the Seagull ST1901 Mechanical Chronograph movement and that's why neither picked one?
I have the first-shown Citizen dive-ish watch, in the black/orange/rubber strap variant, which at the time of purchase was apparently only available in Europe, as the "Seaplane." In typical Citizen form it's got a lot going for it for the price: comfy band, unique look, and solid build/finish. But folks should be aware that *unlike* the average 42mm+ Citizen, it actually wears as big as its size - pushing my personal limit for sure - and also the bezel is non-functional. I rarely use a dive bezel, but still find this irritating on principle (and a genuine surprise given the brand). It's pretty cool for the price, but those downsides combine to mean not that much wrist time for me.
On the other hand, I've had a Mondaine for a couple of years and absolutely love it. Iconic design at a reasonable price, looks great for artsy/design-adjacent events.
For me it would be
1. Citizen Pro Master Diver
2. Geckota C01,
Chronograph
3. Casio G-Shock "Summer Lovers' Edition",
"Pilot"
4. Mondaine Classic
, Dress
5. Mr Jones "A perfectly useless afternoon", Wildcard
Andrew wins 4:1. Sorry, Tom!
The last one is it water proof
Tom wins hands down - heritage brands - great finds - the Timex was a surprise
Love mr jokes, glad to see they go coverage on this channel:)
Diver - any Citizen Pro Master or any Orient diver
Pilot / Chrono in 1 - seagull 1963
Dress - Orient Bambino or Timex Marlin
Wild card - any Casio or Swatch
All icons and all well under budget
Long time listener, first time commenter. For my money, Tom is hands down the best Watchfinders watch finder this time.
fantastic selection
You guys are the best. And Mr. Jones watches are da bomb
That mr jones watch I think takes the w
Great episode
As a microphone where do you wear your watches?
OK, gauntlet dropped.. how about $500?!?
Diver - Steeldive SD1970 ‘Willard turtle’ at £110 - Napalm in the morning etc.
Chrono - Rotary GS00100/04/BRN - vintage Breitling vibes! - Amazon at £96
Pilot’s - Casio ‘Royale’ AE1200 - world timer for the budget conscious globetrotter? £30
Dress - Eriksen Vintage Rectangular Gold with brown leather strap - Amazon £45 - Reverso vibes?
Wild card - Swiss automatic? How about the Swatch System 51 / AM51 at £126
Grand total - £407 which is $477, so I could still go out and buy an F91W if coerced!
Okay, interesting. Will try to collect one and not repeat any of yours. Love AE1200 very much though.
Diver - my beloved Vostok 170916 - 80$
Chrono - Timex Weekender Chronograph 40mm 77$
Pilot - San Martin SN-034-G-A Sterile dial on a bracelet 140$
Dress - Seiko SUR343 Gold toned dress watch 37 mm 105$
Wild card - Swatch N-Igma White (Transparent Day/Date) 73$ + Casio - CA-53-W-1 (Calculator watch) 19$
494$
Can you even turn the bezel on that citizen?
That Pan Am timex looks so much like an IWC. But it doesn’t seem like a rip-off of an IWC. I’m a fan of this
I cant usually find fault with choices you guys make in these lists but I thin you both made a huge mistake not having a Seagull ST1901 Mechanical chrono based watch for a chronograph........ could have saved a TON of money on both your selections for other watches as well as boasting a mechanical chrono on a 5 watches for a grand list.
Thanks for another great video fellas :D
I agree with the tie. I’m going Andrew, Andrew, Tom, Tom, draw (since Andrew’s was better but blew the budget). That said, I really want 2 of Tom’s watches now, the Pan-Am and the Mondaine. Well done, guys!
Geckota looks amazing
I didn't knew about geckota thing, now I need one
Great video, that Geckota looks fab
Andrew totally phoned it in, but great video anyway! Besides I saw a lot of Quartz recommendations so it's an automatic thumbs up from me (no pun intended).
The date is unforgiveable on the first watch. They should have dropped the three and made the watch 4mm smaller for this size movement. The promaster diver is the better choice, although the date is still too far to the inside. This one should be 2mm smaller for the movement.
Tissot vs Geckota is again won by the Geckota watch. Nice one. The Pan-Am one is definitely nicer than the G-shock though. But then the Orient wins the next round. With the F91 winning over Mr Jones, I feel there's a winner to be had if you mixed you guys choices. Sorry Tom, the day is not yours.
Tom destroyed in this one! That Timex looked really nice, and the mondaine (sp?) was probably the biggest surprise for me.
The date window on that citizen hurts me, the 3 index looks like an 8 with a date window in it.
Thanks! Just bought a perfectly useless afternoon :)
Morbius Casio is essential for keeping those cravings in check…
