Very much appreciate that Studio Underd0g went to great length to ensure the screws on the dial point in the same direction. Was told far to often that's not possible, mainly by people that've never opened a caseback...
@@DC-uf6vethat makes no sense, if they've spent money achieving something, that has to be paid for. Claims this is a sub £500 watch are stupid, it's Swiss movement and assembled in Britain.
@@alfieakaronaldog Have seen four reviewers taking extensive macro shots of all four models now and whilst some I have seen have minor differences between the heads direction, those appear to be at most 2° and thus are basically unnoticable without magnification. They managed it on at least 24 watches, appears they got it sorted. Basically, they really put the effort in to achieve a really challenging engineering goal, but then again, that makes sense considering the person behind Studio Underd0g. Just disappointing that we have people defend far more expensive watches that fail at this.
Yes! The script with self-deprecating humour, the engaging prosody, the captivating photography, and the genuine appreciation of the design abilities and work of the artist. It is such a pleasure to wake to drink Assam tea to such workmanship on the other side of the world. Oh, and the watch looks good too.
Very cool watch! Love the design and colors, but $900 is a VERY steep ask. I think it will probably still sell out because of people hoping to re-sell for higher
@alfieakaronaldog from another vid I saw they can only be pre-ordered on like November 2nd or something (1 day) and only between certain hours which vary by time zone but it's like 11-8 gmt time. (Do not quote me on that exact date and time) Brittany Pearce had it listed in her vid description for each time zone and she mentions the date in the vid towards the end.
Just love it. Such an attention to details to make everything gel together makes it great. It is not about money, it is about the value. That is a great value watch.
I much prefer the first release. The mint choc chip is incredible, even more so than the watermelon. The price difference especially tips my preference towards the older models.
The glowing dials shown at the end maintain the original concept of the watermelon's 'bright' dial. A very skillful way of maintaining the brand identity.
Trick with double watch dial is brilliant. At first i thought series two is boring but when i remember Studio Underd0g posts before premiere and saw Andrew film i got it. It's a cool watch.
I love your channel because you are simply just the essence. What we want about watches. Not a hypocrite whistle. Keep going like this , we will support you
It's an excellent watch. It is unique which is not the easiest thing to achieve nowadays. Personally i would've loved it to be 38/39mm as i've an 8in wrist and i worry it is too small for me
Oooo! This is nice. I might have to try these 2 flavors for my collection: the pink lemonade & the watermelon (if I can find it). The more I see the more I like Studio Underd0g….
Wet cool watch collection. I am starting to really get into the small watch company’s offerings. I recently got a TSAO Baltimore watch and can’t get enough of it. Also company’s like Vaer in California have a great collection. Most are under a thousand dollars. It’s fun to have a numbered 43/50 watch.
Pricing is pretty much in line with anything else that has a SW210-1 so don't really see the concern there. The screws remind of a CEX employee with cheek piercings though lol
Great looking watch, expect the mirror polished bezel makes it look more dressy than tool-y. Other than that, it’s a well designed and executed concept.
1:42 Yes! Mike Tyson said, “Everyone thinks they want a Rolex until they get punched in the mouth.” Thoughts: design is great! It’s not a Seagull movement! But 37mm is a bit small, although it is truer to vintage sizes.
The price is a bit steep for me. One I love, but still. 500 for a chrono is one thing, but 800 for a field a bit much for me personally. Shame, as it looks great. Another microbrand heading towards 'unattainable'
I love it. I'm a sucker for field watches. They are my favorite type of watch and I have a ton of them. I am also a sucker for pink lemonade, my favorite beverage out there. Not to mention the two colors on the pink lemonade one are my favorite colors. Perfect size too, hmmmmmmm... I think I might have to buy it.
Great artistry and watchmaking on the sequel. The dial has a cool effect but it is hard for me to read since it is fuzzy to me. Like the double vision one gets with cross eyed vision.
I was going to say that as I have the field watch space already covered in my collection that I'll pass. Well I feel the need to get one of these brilliant takes on the field style at some point. The only trouble is to decide on which one. So many watches yet so little time and not enough wrists.
If you come up to a solution, preferably until the end of the month, please let me know! I love the Steffany Blue and Black dial one. Buuuut the pink lemonade is just so studio underd0g…
I wish I'd seen this video for the last drop. Didn't pull the trigger. The O2 Midnight is so beautiful. I've not seen many videos on YT that do it justice. My flexible friend is waiting for the next window in Q4 24.
People are overlooking the creativity if they dwell in the price and tech it offers. The 02 caught my eyes with the floating numbers and reminds me of the mystery clock. It's not as fancy as 01 but it's very much a proper everyday even a dress watch from people who love watches. It's fun to look at and fun to own one I'm sure.
@@daniellehotsky1776 What did you expect the 02 to be, then? Let’s see how creative you are mate. You’re so cynical that all you focus on is the screws and forget to look at the overall design of the watch. The most expensive part of the watch industry is populated by companies who haven’t presented anything new and only derive from existing models FOR DECADES. Looks great, I'd expected that, the appeal of a good field watch for me though is the anti G shock discretion of a timepiece that hugs the wrist and stays out of trouble but tells the time very clearly. The double layer dial adds too much thickness, if it is possible to put a Sellita/ETA automatic in a 200m water resistant case with a thickness of 10mm then I think the Series 2 is too thick. Too pedantic? Yeah, I know.
Nice watch. Just too small for me and those screws bother me, even though I have tried to appreciate them as a design feature. Perhaps a more technical screw head such hexagonal might have helped?
Saw this drop on their website, it really is a sweet spot watch for me. All the dials are really excellent too. However $900, oof that's a big ask for a hand wound Sellita.
A definite classic and it's not even out yet. A bit rich for me at the moment though. I hope those of you on the 1st November manage to get the colour you want.
Really great new line from Underdog. I prefer these to the chronos myself. I appreciated the audacity and uniqueness of the watermelon. But I didn’t really like it that much. I preferred the other more subdued color ways. But I’m much more of a field watch fanboy than a chronograph one anyway. And I love the floating effect of the indices with their shadows below. And such a great idea to put colorful dials like the pink lemonade (my favorite) and Steffany 😆 blue onto a field watch format.
Just when you thought you have seen it all they come up with something like this, not a bad price if you consider a khaki bronze is just slightly cheaper.
I thought I wasn't going to preorder this one, but then my out of pocket for some dental work was a few hundred more than the price of this watch cheaper than I thought it would be. So my blue one is with dhl right now.
The floating sapphire dial, lume and colorways are brilliant. The hands, however, are underwhelming. I think a cathedral style hand set would have worked well, especially with the lume. I also think that chrome hex or torx screws for the dial would work better that slotted screws. Nevertheless, Richard Benc has demonstrated that he is not a one hit wonder.
Not a bad watch, but its hard to see why anyone would pay more for this than their original chrono. Even at the same price Im taking the chrono over this no question (and I own the the watermelon so Im not just talking here). For $900 you could get a Hamilton khaki bronze, something from Christopher Ward, a Seiko Alpinist, the list goes on...
Very much appreciate that Studio Underd0g went to great length to ensure the screws on the dial point in the same direction. Was told far to often that's not possible, mainly by people that've never opened a caseback...
That's an expensive thing to do, it's probably why the watch is twice as expensive as it should be.
😂
I have never seen screws on a dial before lol.
There is zero chance they will be straight though.
Flat heads were the wrong choice IMO

Nice watches with a great design choices. I don't remember ever seeing a bicolor lumed dial with a color transition like that before, very cool.

every single strap is such a great color, texture and a match to the dial.
