I wish more channels (including this one) would give Citizen more credit. They make a TON of good looking watches that are hard to beat in terms of functionality for the price. I have a 5 or 6 daily wear watches; 3 of which are Citizen, two of those are the same model in different colors. One of my best looking dress watches has a Miyota movement in it. Whether it's automatic or Eco-Drive, Citizen really is a fantastic value proposition, and no watch snob could meaningfully argue otherwise.

    • @HellJustFroze
      @HellJustFroze Год назад +1

@@excelsiortrading8050 I've worn a Citizen Eco-Drive (according to Amazon, it's very long winded name is "Citizen Men's Eco-Drive Sport Casual Brycen Chronograph, Super Titanium") for the past three years, it hasn't given me a single issue other than the clasp wearing out and needing replaced after a couple years -- but that's the fault of the strap and my lack of care, not the watch itself. I'm not a "watch guy", I don't have a collection nor do I take great care to ensure things don't get damaged -- I beat the hell out of it on the daily, either bumping into doorways or accidentally smacking my wrist on something. It replaced my Seiko 5, which I was getting tired of having to re-set the time if I didn't wear it on the weekend.
The Eco-Drive keeps perfect time, looks great (even after 3 years of heavy use, still does), and is super light compared to the Seiko thanks to the titanium construction. Literally cannot recommend it highly enough.

Proud owner of a white Sealander C63 (GMT version) here, and it's every bit as beautiful in real life as it looks on the website (or on RUclips.) It may not have the five-figure finishing or movement as its clear inspiration, the Rolex Explorer II, but what it did accomplish was taking the Explorer II's design and improving it in several different ways, from a slight touch of added color to a reduced size to less emphasis on the 24-hour numbers, preventing bezel from drawing attention away from all the lovely features of that exquisite dial.

As regards the Sinn field watch is concerned I would personally go for the Hamilton Khaki King automatic. A fantastic watch with an 80 hour power reserve. Alternatively there is a Seiko Solar quartz field watch which has the day/date configuration of other Seiko models. Like the Sinn it also has the black and white configuration and the lume is really one of the best in the watch industry. It is water resistant to 100M and is suitable for small size wrists. Priced at just over £100 it's a bargain of a watch. You are spot on also with regards to Casio G-Shock watches. I have two in my watch collection both of which are solar powered and have Multiband 6 radio control for accuracy and of course 200M water resistance. Great tool watches which every watch collector should have. Thanks for the interesting video.

I found it funny and I was a bit elated the Casio G-Shock features prominently in Avatar: Way of Water, which is said to take place more than 100 years in the future. All the soldiers, even when they are in their much larger Avatar form, are wearing these G-Shocks. The brand has become so synonymous with the military and special forces units that even in science fiction films that take place in the future still insist on having them as part of a soldier's apparel. Given that the Avatars in the film are supposed to be nearly twice as large as a human, they had to recreate the G-Shocks in CGI to be proportional to their size.

Love to hear what one thinks of the Pantheum Oculus:
    -Seiko automatic movement
    -200m water resistance
    -sapphire crystal
-dial inspired by the roof of the Pantheon
    -think it’s about 500€

I love the G-Shock but don't understand their price point for the full metal edition. I can go and buy a resin one for £100, spend £100 on a metal case and bracelet and have a good chunk of change. Brand new modded ones are going on for £240. I appreciate its a mod and it isn't stock, but surely Casio could have priced it a bit lower. I mean, add another £150 onto the £500 you'd spend on the Metal G-Shock and you're touching entry level Hamilton prices. Watch Nation have the Jazzmaster open heart for £620 and I'd personally much rather go for a Hamilton than a G-Shock.

Casio are simply very aware that people are willing to pay that much for what is technically an inferior design (from a durability standpoint). Don't forget that Balenciaga and Supreme still exist.
While I personally think the metal G Shocks are quite stylish, there's no way in hell I could justifiy to my future self spending money on one when you can get the same module in a better case for a much lower price.

It's because people WANT to spend that much on a G-shock.

I bought the Christopher Ward Sealander instead of an Aquatera. Then I bought an Aquaterra day date and wish it had the dimensions of the Sealander. The Sealander’s dimensions are perfect for my wrist. And your right about the Sealander looking crisp, that’s a perfect description of it.

I already have a SKX009 and a Casioak in the collection. The new Seiko 5 is only better than the SKX in the movement being Hacking and Hand winding. It's got less water resistance and the alignment issues are still as bad. Oh I forgot to mention it's also £100 more expensive than I paid for a then new SKX. Although admittedly they now command much more being a cult classic. I love the PRX and will no doubt be adding 1 to the collection in the not too distant future. The Farer watches look cool as well. Great content and list fellas.👍👍

Nice watches for a good value of money. The brew looks very good. A friend of mine owns the brew with a different dial. I love more the white one. But from my point of view there is a watch missing in the list of watches no one hates. The new Formex Models. Since Formex startet new in 2016 they changed the design and the quality in a way i didn't expect you can do in that pricerange. So have a look on this brand if you don't know it.

Good selection. The top two in my book are 1) the Sinn (sounds like Zinn, should you ask) 556 A and 2) the « AquaTerra »by Ch Ward
The 556 has it all : provenance, legibility, dimensions, form factor Swiss movement, water resistance and zero pretentiousness. It is the definition of a no nonsense watch and brings the strong value German watchmakers are famous for. Full disclosure : I own 2 Sinn 556s😊
Choosing an Omega AquaTerra over this lovely Ch Ward is a decision you really need to think hard about. Unfortunately, the trident counterweight, the pointy hour hand and the weird logo don’t work for me. I think it maybe better value than the Formex Essence 39.
Finally, the Tissot PRX. This 70’s look is the exact opposite of my watch taste (40’s and 50’s are my cuppa) but if you fancy integrated bracelets and « pavé » dial on a steel watch, and live in a place where watch crime is a problem, forget the hype machine the Royal Oak is and pick the Tissot. Or maybe 2 or 3 in different hues.
