This has to be the best tutorial I’ve watched for hooded eyelids, you take the time to explain ‘why’ you do certain things and it makes so much sense, I realise I’ve been doing my eyeshadow wrong all this time and rather than disguising my hoods I’ve been making them look worse, thank you so much!
I’ve watched so many hooded eye videos, and can never do the eyeliner they suggest because my hood overlaps the corner of my eye. You’re the first person who’s ever suggested going up before you reach the end of your eye. I’m excited to try that! Thanks for the helpful video.

This finally explains why my eyelashes make my also turned-down outside ends look better when I wear 3/4 false eyelashes. Someone did my eyes that way once and I loved the look, not to mention that it 'fixed' the downward eye shape. It didn't make sense to me at the time, as it went against my rule of makeup contouring: light out, dark in. I was thinking down-drag, not down-in. I will only wear my eyeliner from mid center to end on top & bottom because if I wear it straight across, it defeats the purpose of the heavy outer corner just a little. This could be because I'm not perfect with eyeliner enough to do a thick & thin, which can really look nice on a cat eye if you can pull it off. I can't, as my eyes have always been hooded, but unlike yours, they're hooded from end to end. I could go thick & thick and no one would notice, ha.

I'm 62 and have just realised that I'm looking old! The make up look that's got me by over the last xx years is no longer doing it for me. I feel so much more motivated to wear my eyeshadows again! I quit wearing them during this pandemic because I hardly ever leave the house now and when I do I don't bother with the face stuff either because of mask wearing. This tutorial has changed my perspective about my down-turned lids which in my youth didn't present much trouble with making them up. Same. I quit wearing makeup to the gym. Then I quit wearing it all the time. It wasn't helping my face and skin at all.

Excellent tutorial. I have been making up my eyes and sculpting since I saw an article in Cosmopolitan Mag. in the Spring of 1964 and I've been the envy of many but now my hooded eyes are quite hooded and too much makeup on an "Old Dolly" makes you look like....we all know what too much makeup on an older woman looks like. Anyway, I have been having great trouble with getting the far corner of my eye so that my eye doesn't look dragging and I've been very unhappy about it. Your video gave me the clues, instruction to correct the problem I'm having, thank you.

Fantastic tutorial!!! I am 72 yrs old and I love watching these tips and techniques. I learned a lot from this video. I LOVE playing with hair and makeup! My daughter just turned 50 yrs old 4 days ago and I have noticed that her makeup technique is making her look 50! I am on a mission now to tutor her (based on your technique) on her eye makeup. I have noticed that she is using shimmery eye shadow on her upper (hooded area) lid and it accentuates the hood. Often people think we are sisters and that rightfully upsets her. The difference is that I use makeup to downplay the aging and she is accentuating her aging. YES!! I finally figured out the 7!!!!! I’ve been trying every hooded trick forever and figured that one out! Didn’t have a name but it works!! I like starting at the top point if the 7, go in and the straight down to keep from hitting my down turn. 🤷🏼♀️ just gotta keep trying from what I’ve seen, everyone is different like it said 😊

Awesome tutorial! 💕💕💕 This approach does wonders! 💕💕💕 Yeah, with deep set and hooded eyes we need to have our own tutorials, as most makeup schools teach on models with huge open lids, and even pro artists often are not prepared to do a 'shape correction' that looks good on camera.

Finally someone with actual hooded eyes doing a hooded eye tutorial..most of the time the ladies giving instructions dont even have hooded eyes! Mine are deep set/hooded n I've tried the spoon technique n it just doesnt work for me(where u hold a spoon over your eye and apply eyeshadow above the spoon to make a false crease). I enjoy your videos because our ages are very similar and I have the same makeup difficulties..thank you!!

I am so so glad I found you! You've pretty much covered all the issues and questions that I have like the angle of the '7' and how high should my crease be..and like you I have those 500 folds haha! and I never could understand how to do a wing liner because of the folds that I have. I always avoid doing eyeshadow as I find it quite daunting because of my hooded eyes, so now I just have to brave myself to practice your techniques! Thank you!
