My Mom's eyes were very hooded. When she turned 65 she was eligible for Medicare to cover the cost of surgery. She looked like she got beat up by Mike Tyson (Post surgery). When she finally healed, She LOVED it, she said for the first time in her life she had periphery vision. IMPO, she didn't look the same, of course, but I had grown up seeing her one way & that surgery Totally changed the way she looked. I don't think she cared, afterwards she got her (non existent) eyebrows tattooed on & then she REALLY looked different! She passed away way to early (at 70). It's been almost 6 years & I miss her every day.

Hi Nisha...I used to wear those eyelid tapes all the time. Then I had a brow lift that didn’t cost me anything because my hooded eyelids were blocking my peripheral vision. The brow lift didn’t lift my eyelids enough so he did an additional eyelid lift. I’m so happy with it 😊

The eyelid lift is done in the office…easy peasy. He numbed my lids with lidocaine and cut and removed skin and stitched it. I didn’t have any pain and had the stitches removed a week later. The brow lift was a 2-3 hour surgery but it didn’t lift my eyelids enough so after a three month healing time he did the eyelid lift. I love it 🥰

I have a suggestion to disguise the tape. Before you put your eyeshadow on use a eyeshadow primer (I suggest a cream vs a liquid.) And always set it with your powder (a translucent powder won't affect color of shadow). As with the rest of your face you don't want it to feel tacky. Then apply your eyeshadow. I think matte will always cover better but if you really want to use shimmers, metallics, glitters ect using the primer will cover that tape better. It's like setting down primer before paint. I hope this helps. I just recently discovered that life has caught up to me and I have a bad case of hooded eyelids.😒

Thank you for demonstrating how to apply these. I've bought & practiced with 2 different brands, and I usually can't seem to get them in the right place on my eyelid. The couple times I was successful, you could see them under the eye shadow, both matte and shimmer. I'll still practice, because I'm a performer and from far away you can't see the tapes (onstage). But if I'm going to be sweating outdoors or talking to people close up, I'll skip them. I appreciate all your hooded droopy eye tips!

Good morning Nisha! I thought the application process did quite well but I also agree that it wasn't a dramatic difference. But I would imagine you wouldn't want it too dramatic because then you would look totally different, I'm just guessing. And as far as them being invisible, had you not brought our attention to them, I doubt anyone would notice. And besides, if somebody feels the need to get that close to you to see what your eyelids look like, I would feel kind of funny about somebody trying to get that close to me. Lol. But overall, for the price, the benefits were very nice. But the way you apply your makeup on your eyes, which already is beautiful for your eyeshape, you really don't need them. And that's just my 2 cents! Either way you look lovely!

Thank you for investigating this option for us! I think it did make a lovely lift which gave you more mobile lid. The price is good for the benefit, but I have not conquered daily lashes because of time and patience. I do think practice makes progress so I’m gonna give it a try. My 90 year old Mom had to have a medical eye lift because of the droopy lids, which I inherited!!! She was so embarrassed to have beautiful eyes at 90 thinking it vain! For her, it was a medical necessity as her field of vision was so narrow due to heavy lids! I have already had the discussion with my eye dr and he is documenting the issue as I will pursue this surgery at the correct time! ❤️💜

The best is the mesh eyelid tape. The one that comes with the glue. I’ve even made my own with tule I got from Walmart and used eyelash glue to stick it on. That way you can customize them to your eye shape. It’s pretty undetectable. Just be careful when taking them off use a makeup remover, you don’t want to be pulling your skin the skin around your eyes is so delicate.

And with the mesh you can apply eye makeup and then put them over top of the eye makeup. I’ve never tried putting them on first and then putting makeup on them tho so not sure how that would look.

I use eye tape when I don't wear eyeshadow.... It gives me more youthful looking eyelids without much makeup. However, when I want to wear more eye makeup, I do not use them and I count on the illusion of my eyeshadow with my hooded eyes. Just gives me a couple of ways to do my face. I think with eye makeup applied well, eye tape is not necessary (and I really like the way you apply eye shadow for hooded eyes) Thanks for your video.

I've been using lid tapes and it's the only way now I can do my eye looks. It took some practice learning the best placement for my lids and now I've got it down so it doesn't take long. I also determined how to hide the shininess of the tapes. I'm finding that people don't notice I've used them unless they know to look for them.

@@godloveskaren So far I like the Urban Decay Primer Potion over it (along with the rest of the lid. I'm also going to try applying glitter glue to the tape area. Yes, it's worth it to me to do all this, otherwise, my lids are almost on my lashes 😞

THANK YOU for doing the tutorial. I have two issues one being blind in one eye and that is not the eye with the droopy lid. The good eye which is smaller needs the lift and I struggle getting the tape placed because I have no vision in my other eye to assist with the placement. Even with normal both eye vision, I have to say thank you for being real and also having some struggles with this product. It is not easy and some of the tapes feel like they are going to rip the skin on my lid. Great content!

I loved how they lifted your eyelid but when you looked down you could definitely see them. So if going for a coffee and looking down to pick your cup up n put down they wouldn’t be a good idea but if you were having your photo taken and you wanted a lift in mood as well as eyelid they look the job. Thank you for that. I have very heavy hooded eyes and they can go puffy so I stay home. You’ve given me a bit of hope at looking normal.

You can also simply cut a thin edge off a band-aid and press it into the eye crease. It works exactly the same and band-aids come in many skin tones now. You can even spread cover up over it. Use the cloth-ish ones. Much more affordable.

Thank you for the video and for your questions. Yes they worked on you, looked great! Yes shimmer eye shadows show them .. Can you do a tutorial on using them with matt shadows instead of shimmer? I use the strips for a while now and am happy with the lift, but don’t know how to use eye shadows with them, even though without them I always wear eye shadows along with full makeup. Thank you very much!💕
