    Hi, I just want to say wearing eyelid tape, I made the crease permanent. Im asian and have one eye that is way more hooded than the other one. Permanent change is possible but you have place them on the same spot and wear them every day, all day ( even during sleep) for 30 days. My crease is permanet, however, if I cry or after a night of drinking (dont judge me 😂), or my face is swollen, my eye will revert to its old shape but it is fixed by wearing the tape again for a few hours. My eyes have been even for about 4 years now. Higly recommend!!!

    I had mismatched hooded eyes, being the asian that I am, so I purchased the double sided tape. over a period of six month, I was able to train my eyelid folds to crease at a higher section. be very gentle when removing because when you're tugging skin around the eyes, last thing you want is to stretch the skin out even further. use oils to remove said tape and wash the adhesive off your face with your cleanser. I did have periods where the old crease returned but I popped that sucker back on to retrain for a day and it stuck. I haven't had to use the tape in over a year now and still have my eyelids. trust me, I was skeptical when Michelle phan first mentioned it but it actually does work with patience and time!

      I have tried several different kinds, most are easily detectable. I found some lace, double sided, self stick (with water) by Cuticute that are so invisible they are hard to find to take off. Perfect, but too narrow for my eyes. Everyone's eyes are different.

      There're so many double lid makers in Asia. I first seen this kind of sticker since 10-15 years ago. This kind of sticker is very old fashion. We now have something better which is invisible and blend into the skin. So you can't really see it any more. Check out "Hello Eye Tape" on Instagram #noad
      It's a lace (like lace wig) comes with glue. It's waterproof, scrub proof, oil proof. You can apply the lace double eyelid maker prior or post the makeup. I usually apply the lace after I finished my eye makeup. It's invisible.

    • @soihugyou
      @soihugyou 7 лет назад +27

      There are 3-4kinds of double eyelid makers
      1) Sticker (very old fashion. totally visible on makeup. Least effective. Easiest to use. For beginner. You cannot rub you eyes. NOT RUB PROOF. NOT OIL PROOF. Cannot apply on top of powder.
      2) String (It looks like dental floss. Very thin. Barely visible. However it's quite hard to use and NOT scrub proof)
      3) Lace+glue (Very new. Invented a few years ago. Very easy to use. Can apply before or after makeup. Can use on top of glitter and powder eyeshadow. Doesn't ruin the eye makeup. Waterproof. Rubproof, you can rub you eye as usual. Oil proof. Last all day and all night until you remove it with makeup remover.)
      4) Adhesive Glue&Stick (Not really effective. You cannot close your eyes completely because it stick your lid together to make crease.) #noad

      I was just thinking that! And it goes with the "glam look" of a thick wing and long false lashes. It's good to know that chunky glitter is best, also, but that makes sense, too. The chunks can almost sit on top of the tape edge, not accentuate it.

      Don't know if you'll get this since it's been so long, but.... I'm a 55 year-old Caucasian woman with "acquired" hooded eyes. In other words, I'M OLD. I'm WAY too old for glitter shadows and even for shimmer/frost shadows. They just make my eyelids look like little relief maps. Will matte eye shadows not work at all? Or do I just have to be extra careful not to lift the edges of the tapes with the eye shadow application? I _really_ want to try these as I've experimented a bit with Scotch tape and I can see the benefit of using tapes, even if Scotch tape is the totally wrong product. I mean, when I had it on, my eyelids looked like they looked 20 years ago!

    • @shadowlea4u
      @shadowlea4u 6 лет назад +3

      chelle. Mind if I ask u a question? Anyway I just watched Stephanie Langs video on tape for hooded eyes then read ur comment. How long does the tape stay on? Do u go through alot cause obviously u can't reuse. I have really bad hooded eyes that sometimes I use scotch tape to pull them up. That's for home only.

    • @MoreMishelle
      @MoreMishelle 6 лет назад +7

      Susan Bryant heyyy i didnt see ur comment so im sorry its so late!! the tape stays on the entire day until you take it off. you should take it off every night and either use it daily or whever you feel like you need to. usually you can buy packs or rolls of eyelid tape for super cheap online so its not really a big deal if you go through them quickly! i have a roll of eyelid tape that ive been using daily for a year or two now and im still not finished yet.

      LovePatchSour I basically agree with your comment, however, sometimes it's not about self-love. Sometimes it's just about wanting your makeup to show! Since makeup became so huge on social media, it has kind of turned into a personal art form. And there are so many gorgeous eyeshadow colors and finishes available now. The larger one's exposed eyelid area is, the more "art" you can make and show off. It's fun.

    I was seriously thinking of getting eyelid surgery in the future until I found these! You don't put them on in one movement like she did. You hold them on one side and put one end on and slowly put them down. Make sure skin has no oil on, but add an oil-based moisturiser on top which makes them melt into your skin. You can get hundreds of them on eBay very cheaply. They're amazing!

    If you are a side or stomach sleeper these things make your hooded lids much worse! It restricts blood flow and builds up causing fluid retention - and then your face swells which makes the puffiness in the eyelids more prominent. Try to sleep on your back at a slight angle :)

I hate my hooded eye lids so much, but I'm too afraid that sleep paralysis will come back, if I start to sleep on my back again

    I'm an asian with mono eyelid and I have to say this is not recommended for a daily routine, it requires a certain amount of effort and you still have the risk of them falling off and ruin your make up, you have to be on watch like every 30mins. Beside not only you can feel it there but also SEE it there under natural light. Instagram photo only might be a great idea.
    Personal thought of course (:

      Robin Taylor I’m 70. In my youth (when it wasn’t current) I wore false lashes. I’ve aways been very “eye conscious” . Now that my eye lids are droopy and there’s more foldy skin I’m trying out various strips. They do work ! Experiment,experiment,experiment....before makeup,after makup,etc.etc., It’s worth it!!! xx

    i want to try this, i have one eye that is hooded and one isnt!!i hate it so much, i have been putting retin a on them and it is really helping!!i wonder if these can make the skin stretch or anything in the long run.your eyes look alot bigger with those tapes!!

      @ss7566 7 лет назад +2

      I have this issue too, just in the last few years. I tried this tape on my one droopy eyelid for my wedding rehearsal and I swear one of my bridesmaids was staring at my eye all night, and was too polite to ask what was on my eye. I trimmed it so you couldn't see it with your eye open, but you definitely see it when you blink! Still very visible under eye shadow, even dark eye shadow. But the concept is amazing, because it does work.

      Sarah Stroud There's an actress who has one hooded eyelid, and one incredibly deep set eyelid - Emmanuelle Vaugier (she played Madison the werewolf on Supernatural if that helps), but I thought that it looked so incredibly beautiful on her... so you aren't the only one, that's for sure, and it can be embraced as an aspect of interest.

    OMG!!! I literally need this i my life! I look like I'm giving permanent mean looks to people because of how narrow my eyes due to having a mono-lid AND saggy outer corners. How small my eyes appear because of this makes my other features look very large in comparison (kinda like John Travolta's look). So this could make me look like I used to as a teenager, well my eyes at least!
    Thank you so much for digging these out and reviewing them!

    When I was younger, only one of my eyes had a crease. The other was a mono-lid. Per the advice of my mother (because SHE did this when she was young!), I cut up strips of Scotch tape and trained my one mono-lid eye to crease. It's been over a decade and the only time it ever comes back is when my eyes are very swollen. That said, I want to sincerely thank you for your videos. Your channel is one of the few that I check religiously because you have changed the way I do my eye make up ever since I found you. Thank you Steph! I love you!!!!

    I suggest for you to use tweezers to apply it on. The oils on your fingers make the eyelid tape less sticky! When taking off the eyelid tape, you should use water or makeup remover, whichever you prefer, because it does sag your eyelids throughout time when you don't carefully take it off. Other than that, if you use it for a year or two then it should permanently change your eyelids since you already have double eyelids! Thanks for the video though! 💓

    Stephanie, you definitely have hooded eyes and they are beautiful, corrected with tape or not! I have severely hooded eyes and the ones I use look identical to yours. I've applied them under makeup and over makeup. I have extremely dry skin but my eyelids and crease area underneath the hoods tend to get oily and I've found the tapes stick a lot better when I use eyelid primer first. Sometimes I also dab on a little clear eyelash glue and that also works very well. Thanks for the video!

    WARNING: using tapes/glues can be extremely damaging to your eyelids. I used it before and my eyelids are so saggy from tapes and glues. Just a precaution! it works temporarily but in the long run it can really make your lids sag :(

    • @tsunimee
      @tsunimee 7 лет назад +3

      t rex and that's why I have been shy to use them because of people saying just that: that apparently the lid gets used to this tape/lid and that overtime using the tape will accelerate the natural process of sagging that ageing causes :(

    • @caelanraegn
      @caelanraegn 7 лет назад +3

      t rex I think the double sided one and the glue would do damage because you're literally gluing your eyelids together but I think the single sided one, like what she's using, won't do as much damage? Morgan did warn about it and there are Asians who experience what you just experienced.

      Everyday Hannah for me..if this helps, it's not having to choose one type over the other. I have always had deeply hooded eyes (no mobile lid shows), and I have a lot of nice comments on them. But what this does, and what Steph does in all her hooded eye tutorials, is give us with hooded eyes OPTIONS. And for me, that is awesome. If I want to rock a smoky eye, wing or cat eye..something almost impossible with how small and hooded mine are, this gives me the option to do that. Just that..an "and" not an "or". That opens up a world of new looks and techniques I have to choose from. For me, I found an amazing festival look I can wear now that was unavailable to me before. Not something I would want to do every day but damn..it is awesome to have that choice.

    I have got my easylift eye lid tape on as we watch this! I searched for my easylift tape and this showed up. I did so just to make sure I'm using and applying it right. With mine you get some cream to put on the tape so that you can stick it without it sticking like glue so that when you take it off it doesn't rip your skin. So it acts as a sort of barrier. Mine are super noticeable because I have mega dry skin so it flakes up around the tape and underneath it causing it to be a different colour to my skin (it looks whiter than my skin) and the more you take them off and on again the more noticeable they become.
    You're lucky because you have such smooth and flawless eye skin. Mine are all puckered and have deep lines going vertical as well as horizontal over my top and bottom lid plus puffy under eye lids plus deep lines going across the eye bags plus dry flakey eyes so when I apply makeup I look like an old woman. I'm only 26 and looks about 40! It's terrible.
    And I did try to wear them every day to re-train the crease to be higher but in doing so it irritating my eyes something awful, so now I just wear them once a week. So I cannot train them :(

      Brooke Keys it's a result of fluctuation in the body's levels of antidiuretic. It's made in your brain. It's what makes us able to hold our urine but also causes some level of fluid retention, and this can change based on how much fluid you lose in the course of a day. People who don't create enough ADH have what we often call a weaker bladder and have to urinate more often. Those people will generally retain less water than others, but the biddy tries to correct itself and actually ends up holding onto more fluid than it should as a result.

      I think saying "I love you" is great! You do--her personality and most of her makeup! Just not the blush here, is all. I always like it when someone gives me a little compliment or endearment that's genuine with a criticism. Then I know they are trying to help me, and not to bash me, which is wonderful!

    The eyeshadow primer from urban decay is very good! It's skin coloured, lasts very long and it makes your eyeshadow really pop! Maybe give it a try😉

      I have very hooded eyelids and I love them. They make me a defiant look that I personally find very sexy and I like it haha 😊 When I open my eyelids manually to see what my eyes would look like, I find it very strange, and I do not like it. I feel like I have a weird scary face with my eyelids so wide open 😂 And I agree with you, makeup sucks 😑

      No one is really saying they're ugly. My hooded lids bother my eyes and affect my vision

      That's just straight up fetishism. How the fuck do our hooded eyes make us look "exotic asianish"? Cause 1. "Asianish" isn't even a word and 2. How are they exotic? Where do you think they come from? Narnia?
