Makeup artist here. You will get far better results with lid tapes if you tilt your head back, find where the lid naturally folds and capture that fold underneath the tape, rather than placing the tape where you wish your crease was or at the crease area. This is how they are meant to be applied. I find the water-based glue ones that come with a spray bottle are the best because they can be applied after eyeshadow and are virtually invisible.
Hey ..guy here...lol.. So my mother has 1 eye that is veryyyy droopy... She can have a reallly expensive surgery or try something like this? So here I am trying to help her even though I haven't the slightest clue. Can she wear any makeup with these? She barely wears any at all. Lids by design..i looked on amazon.. a lot of reviews say they are visible.. Do you have a brand to suggest? I'm so deprssed nowing how sad she is.. Thanks in advance

You are so sweet to try to help your mom! Did she try this method? You can put makeup over them. I have one very hooded, droopy eye too and I bought a micro current/nano current devive that is helping. It's expensive (for me) but drastically less expensive than surgery. If her eyelid affects her vision, insurance will pay for surgery. I wish her and you the best! @visionquest414

I’d ordered these before the end of your film! Genius!! I have one very hooded eye and am so self-conscious about it. So much so, that I’d consider surgery (if I were braver/richer!). This could be the solution. I’d consider it part of my daily routine, like putting in my contact lenses. Amazing how something so simple could be so effective! And as you say, why not?! Best advice was from you on here ref hooded eyes a while ago. Clean fresh lid with a wash of something champagne like, followed by a great mascara. Been brilliant for me. I’m now 57 and find less is more. Keep it simple is my motto. I’ve loved seeing you use these as have pondered over them for a while. Would they be ok with a cream eyeshadow on top? Will now certainly give them a go 👍🏻 as always thank you 😊👏🏻x

I’ve been messing around with these little tapes over a couple of years after seeing them on a social media ad but am always afraid to wear them out in case they lift or move and was never sure whether to apply under or on top of eyeshadow. Couldn’t quite get right and left them in my make up drawer despite having a really heavily hooded eye! Just thinking of more dramatic cures and here you are with my solution ! ❤

Thank you Caroline. I ordered some. I'm 56, eyes not too bad but I do get creasing with my eyeshadow even with primer. I've had a couple of try outs with these and I can't believe the difference. I look refreshed and definitely lifted. And my eyeshadow doesn't crease now either. I used the thinner curved version.

I was just thinking the other day that I enjoy watching your videos even more now because you are giving us hints on what make up looks good on aging hooded eyes. My eyelid skin is sensitive, so I don’t know if I can give these a go, but they might be great for special occasions. 💖
I’m thrilled you did this i bought tapes about two years ago and keep trying them . I can do my good eye really well but struggle with placement on my worst eye which has a hood with a bit of a bulge.
No hood just tried again and wherever I put them my lid is so fine and saggy it just goes back under the tape and the tape is then bulging over my lid. Either my kids are beyond help or I just don’t have the knack.
How strange that you have posted this video today Caroline as I have been watching videos of these all week and thinking about ordering them. I think the fork gadget thingy is for pushing the tape back into the crease. I will definitely now be ordering these this week as so lovely to see you try them out. Thankyou🥰

I’m glad you put eyeshadow on to because I was probably the biggest hold up for me - wondering if eyeshadows would work over the tape. They’re not expensive. I've always been curious about these, my eyes aren't really hooded but I've always felt that they didn't go together with eyeshadow at all! They look amazing on you so much more awake and fresh ❤

I've been using them on one eye for a few weeks now. I've heard long term use has a permanent lifting effect. They're so cheap and quick to use once you've got the hang of it.

I’ve used these(different brand) and things I’ve found…use tweezers to take off of the plastic as fingers remove stickiness and also Not on the end if you can because then the end loses its adhesive-ness(word?) and it won’t stick to your lid (annoying to have a tiny bit sticking up). The applicator That came with my brand seems to be for pushing into the socket.I use them to provide symmetry to my face so I only do one eye ( my right eye as well). I became “concerned”that someone would notice them if standing close to me because it does have a different(slightly) texture than my lid. The eyeshadow wears differently on the tape than on the lid. A too dark eyeshadow accentuates their appearance later in the day. So an eyeshadow that shares the same darkness as my skin ( if that makes sense) is best for me. I can’t put them over foundation or powder as they don’t stick plus they’re even more apparent. . So in conclusion , for me, I like them but I wish I could make them disappear more. As the vainest person in the world ( no legit reason) I wear eyeshadow every day. So they have to work with eyeshadow. Thanks for showing this. Lovely per usual. ❤️😎

I watched the video, ordered the tape on Amazon (different one because I could not get yours in my country), and 24 hours later my droopy old right eye is droopy no more! Thanks so much. I wore it all day today on just my right eye and smiled every time I passed a mirror. I have felt so old since it started drooping a few years ago and not being a make-up artist I have never really managed to conceal it. My only issue is the same one you mentioned, I prefer the way it looks without eyeshadow because it is less visible. If anyone has suggestions for a brand that looks good with eyeshadow I would really appreciate it.

I have extremely hooded lids. My left lid overhangs my pupil and I look permanently angry even though I'm not an angry person at all. I have tried eyelift tape and just couldn't get the hang of it. After watching you apply them, I'm away off upstairs to grab them and try them again. I absolutely wasn't putting it in the right place. Thanks for this Caroline. I'll let ya know how I get on.
Wow, oh wow! New subscriber here! Going to order these straight away. I virtually gave up wearing eye makeup a few years back , especially during covid lockdowns. When I tried to put eyeshadow on again finally, I discovered with horror, my hoods had gotten far worse. Hopefully this will regenerate my love for makeup again😃 Just hope they aren't too fiddly to handle, my coordination is not always the best and of course, I'm way out of practice😦 If they work I will need to revamp my makeup, it's rather old like me lol🤣

I would worry in case the sticker moved as the day went on, but they do look good. I worked for a dentist and he always knew which side patients slept on, so I think most of us will have a good and not so good side to our faces as we age.
omg this was so common back in the 80s when i was in secondary school ! i never understood why the other girls disliked single eyelids so much so they resorted to wearing these tapes *everyday*. but it’s true, eye tape has been common in asia forever - i’m in singapore but i’ve also come across some korean or japanese videos referencing their use as a standard practice depending on the makeup look they are going for. tape is almost like a tool such as eyelash curler - there will be a change in the resulting look but it remains an optional step. however, i didn’t realise their effectiveness in dealing with hooded eyes which has become more of a struggle in the last few years with age. i can no longer wear eyeliner because it will smudge from getting caught in the folds, and also because the lines are no longer visible under the hoods. sometimes i do still wear eyeliner or eyeshadow close to the lashline coated with duraline if i’m not doing a simple wash or a cream shadow. this is a great video for me to experiment with tape ! thanks for showing how easy it is to use too ! 💗
did you know Caroline - those thicker ones are two-stickers - I presummed they were one for each eye. Love how current you are ❤ Funny how we feel uncomfortable wearing stickers, but we love painting our face. Personally, I think its because its new to us. I've gone through the menopause and no amount of sleep will rejuvenate my eyes - Im so grateful for the freshness these bring

When I was 30 - 25 years ago, I had a TBI, my left eye drops more than my right eye because my left side was the paralyzed side.

I watched the video, ordered the tape on Amazon (different one because I could not get yours in my country), and 24 hours later my droopy old right eye is droopy no more! Thanks so much. I wore it all day today on just my right eye and smiled every time I passed a mirror. I have felt so old since it started drooping a few years ago and not being a make-up artist I have never really managed to conceal it. My only issue is the same one you mentioned, I prefer the way it looks without eyeshadow because it is less visible. If anyone has suggestions for a brand that looks good with eyeshadow I would really appreciate it.

I've been using eye tape for a few weeks and although I still need practice placing them in the right place, the difference is positively noticeable. 😊
I have extremely hooded lids. My left lid overhangs my pupil and I look permanently angry even though I'm not an angry person at all. I have tried eyelift tape and just couldn't get the hang of it. After watching you apply them, I'm away off upstairs to grab them and try them again. I absolutely wasn't putting it in the right place. Thanks for this Caroline. I'll let ya know how I get on.

Wow, oh wow! New subscriber here! Going to order these straight away. I virtually gave up wearing eye makeup a few years back , especially during covid lockdowns. When I tried to put eyeshadow on again finally, I discovered with horror, my hoods had gotten far worse. Hopefully this will regenerate my love for makeup again😃 Just hope they aren't too fiddly to handle, my coordination is not always the best and of course, I'm way out of practice😦 If they work I will need to revamp my makeup, it's rather old like me lol🤣

I would worry in case the sticker moved as the day went on, but they do look good. I worked for a dentist and he always knew which side patients slept on, so I think most of us will have a good and not so good side to our faces as we age.

omg this was so common back in the 80s when i was in secondary school ! i never understood why the other girls disliked single eyelids so much so they resorted to wearing these tapes *everyday*. but it’s true, eye tape has been common in asia forever - i’m in singapore but i’ve also come across some korean or japanese videos referencing their use as a standard practice depending on the makeup look they are going for. tape is almost like a tool such as eyelash curler - there will be a change in the resulting look but it remains an optional step. however, i didn’t realise their effectiveness in dealing with hooded eyes which has become more of a struggle in the last few years with age. i can no longer wear eyeliner because it will smudge from getting caught in the folds, and also because the lines are no longer visible under the hoods. sometimes i do still wear eyeliner or eyeshadow close to the lashline coated with duraline if i’m not doing a simple wash or a cream shadow. this is a great video for me to experiment with tape ! thanks for showing how easy it is to use too ! 💗
did you know Caroline - those thicker ones are two-stickers - I presummed they were one for each eye.

Funny how we feel uncomfortable wearing stickers, but we love painting our face. Personally, I think its because its new to us. I've gone through the menopause and no amount of sleep will rejuvenate my eyes - Im so grateful for the freshness these bring
