No, you can’t permanently disable it unfortunately. My car cover triggers the child detection alarm too which is really irritating as you have to disable it every time.
Interesting. What do you mean by a car cover, as in a cover covering the dashboard? Have you got the CPD setting on your setting shortcuts where we pull down from the top of the screen? That will be faster when we want to turn it on and off.
just purchased my BYD SEal and the other night was charging while sitting in the car, and the alarm kept going off every few moinutes and was wondering could this be the problem? Thanks in Advace
No it won't go off if we don't lock the car. This is for times when we sit in the car without turning on the car, e.g. waiting for someone. We would want to lock the car for security reasons.
It stays off only for that time we turn off the car. Meaning, we turn the CPD off, turn off the car, and the next time we come back and got on the car, it will still be off like I showed in the video. Once we turn on the car, the CPD settings is on again.... unfortunately.
@@vbmdsm Yes, that's how it is for the CPD child's safety unfortunately. Configure this CPD in the shortcut menu where we can pull down from the top of the screen, so it's quick and convenient to turn it off if we want to leave people in the car.
It's about time all EV manufacturers stop adding more and more complicated but hardly ever used features into its system, think about those more senior drivers who are less tech savvy. It's too confusing and mind boggling.
A mi si me entregaron el mío. Saludos! Por algo el autofinanciamiento va al ultimo (si lee lo que dicen las letras chiquitas, literalmente es para gente con pésimo historial ;) )
Very informative video mate. Many would want to turn off this feature
Yes, I know, that's why I made this video.

You are very welcome. If you were sitting in the car with doos closed and locked without turning on the car, then most likely, this is the issue.
Same with the Seal U
Good to know. Thanks for sharing with everyone.
Does this still happen if you dont lock the doors? Then you could rely on the auto-locking when the car starts moving

Yes it does if your car is set to retract the door handles after a set time. The CPD will activate and go off.
Does the setting stay off though?

@@SkyPerspective That's what I thought based on my experience...its driving the family, adults, nuts lol
