I wasn’t ready for how much I was going to love this car. It was soo good and the interior is a wow factor! Thanks for sharing and leaving us a comment 🤗
Quick tip three fingers on the big screen and up and down for temp and right and left for fan speed. Easier than using steering wheel. Alternatively just use verbal commands. I love “hey BYD my bums cold” for the heated seat.
I get 420 km from my Excellence (about 80% highway, driven to 5% battery left). To see below the car tap on it in the screen and it becomes transparent. Fantastic car honestly
You can change volume and fan speed by draging 3 fingers up and down or from the sides. You can also change it by using the voice commands. So you actually have alot of ways to change settings without going into menus.
Love this! Thank you for sharing! BYD have thought really well about the user! We just filmed with another BYD car yesterday. Really enjoying their vehicle. Thanks for chatting and leaving a comment 🤗
@@CarChatTV NP, BYD has actually improved the car alot with OTA updates already. So they seem to care about feedback and actually do something. The feature i wrote about is something they added by OTA update.
Just watched as we are considering looking at one next summer, trading in our 3 year old BMW convertible (low mileage) so I’ll check out the prices .. very impressive 👍
Both the EU and the US are quite nervous when they see this car coming to their shores, which is why they are imposing a ridiculous import tariff on it.
I like the BYD Seal as the equipment levels and performance are so impressive for the price and like Skoda drivers of old BYD owners eulagise about them like they are god's gifts to motoring. The problem I have is that for all the marketing, pricing etc the car has some serious issues that many of us can't and should not overlook: 1) The boot size is a joke for a family car, it is no bigger than an average hatchback and is so narrow for many requirements (golfers especially) is is a non-starter. 2) If the boot size is not annoying enough it is a saloon opening so you can get much in the gap anyway. 3) Everything is on the screen and it is borderline dangerous to try and change even basic settings. Now I know most manufacturers do this but they don't bury things several layers into the OS to find it. Oh and the turning screen is really not that useful. 4) For a car that is so long and heavy I am struggling to understand why the leg room in the back is actually quite poor compared to competitors especially with no room under the seats for your feet. That and why the range is not that inspiring as the efficiency does not stack up well. 5) The smell in the cabin is actually quite nauseating, not a nice new car, leather smell but like you are trapped in a room you have just painted, the VOC's are actually quite frightening. For me it is such a shame as I was a motivated buyer who felt the Excellence model with it's power, the equipment as standard and the price was unbeatable for fun and value unlike any other EV. Sadly though as a family car and from a safety and space perspective it was a complete non-starter and failed on too many requirements so my hunt continues !
@@CarChatTV If you're asking Excellence over the Design, then it's because I was underwhelmed with the acceleration, but that's probably because I view cars as transport, being a biker, and for this money want something that will make me smile if/when I put my foot down. I also like HUD's, and think ALL cars should have one, after buying a 3rd party USB one for my existing car and getting used to it instantly! 👍
Great car on the road and comfortable but the software is truly awful. No Sat Nav on the HUD, you have to launch the operating system and go down 3 menu selections to select the seat memory so hopefully the car wasn't driven by a dwarf last. Ideally it would recognise the key fob and select the seat accordingly. No squelch on the DAB radio so if you go into a poor signal zone it sounds like a scalded cat. Sat Nav is pretty poor at recognising voice given destinations too. My 12yr old Audi A7 did all these much better. All these issues could be resolved by software updates but unlike Tesla, BYD has been pretty poor releasing updates. Curiously in Europe the factory fitted dash cam is not installed. The cables and bracket are there in the windscreen binnacle so you can order an aftermarket camera, install it, by popping the binnacle cover off, and it is recognised by the software.
Exceptional car. Packed with features which are customisable.
Interior feels luxurious. so much fun.

These are great tips. Thanks so much for sharing. I love that. Appreciate the comment 🤗
I just ordered an excellence in black, can't wait! 10 weeks!

Fantastic car honestly
BYD is actually Beiydi in Chinese. They just gave it a more English sounding name BYD.
Ooo very interesting thanks for sharing 🤗

Nice to see more options on the market. The Seal looks impressive for the amount it costs. I like that it has a lot of technology

Should be picking up my Excellence in November 😁
That’s Awsome love it. Can I ask why you chose the excellence? Thanks for the comment 🤗

Near Field Communication (NFC)
Boom! Thanks. I knew it meant that lol appreciate the comment 🤗
It’s a mouse on wheels. Lol. I want.
😂I can’t unsee it as a mouse now lol

Fake leather? I thought it comes with real leather
No unfortunately not. The BYD Seal has faux leather and a suede effect on the doors and dashboard. Thanks for the comment 🤗
Not such a shame (IMO) Less stretch and stain potential, with easier/less demanding and expensive cleaning requirements
All these "green" companies use artificial leather because they don't wanna use animal material. (I'm no Green person btw)
