This is one of the best reviewers in Malaysia. Far better than wap*cough* reviewer. His English is fantastic and should be the level all Malaysians aspire to.
Their are (limited) air con controls near the shifter. It can also be controlled on the dash screen via buttons on the steering wheel. With the the new update, aircon can be controlled using 3 finger gestures on info screen no matter what screen is currently showing. Vertical gestures for temp and horizontal guestures for fan speed. I dont even own this car
Guess the car we were driving didn’t have that update. Seems like an obvious fix. The limited HVAC controls near the shifter is to turn aircon off/on or Auto, but we’d argue those are not really useful.
hey brother what watch are you wearing, great video. I . have owned the BYD Seal Performance for about 7 months and puts a smile on my face everyday i drive it
Very nice review bro jim,, the price is not much different from the civic hybrid, which one would you recommend?? because you reviewed the civic hybrid also as very good..
if you’re not ready for the EV lifestyle, you can’t go wrong with the Civic e:HEV, and it does drive better. but if you want to ditch ICE, the Seal is great option.
The performance model has adaptive suspension if im not mistaken. Considering the minimal price difference I'd much prefer the extra power if/when it was ever needed.
The Seal Performance has what BYD calls frequency selective dampers, but they are still passive and not active/adaptive. Given how they termed this, they might count on you thinking they are. But either way the Seal handles pretty well.
How would you compare the driving with Civic hybrid. The looks Seal wins but if only compare the drive, would like your thoughts since your review on Civic Hybrid was also very good. Thanks.
@@CKTong-x8v In terms of handling, both are surprisingly good. However, I prefer the Civic because the driver's seat position is much better, sitting lower, although it's not as comfortable for passengers. My parents-in-law prefer the Seal because the suspension is softer and it's easier to get in and out. But don't get me wrong, the Seal sits lower among other EV cars, which is one of the reasons I chose it. The Civic feels like an EV most of the time, even it can cruise in EV mode up to 130 km/h. However, the cabin noise is not as well insulated compared to the Seal. You may hear a lot of road noise, which can cause discomfort for you and your passengers. However, it's still an improvement if you are upgrading from a Myvi or a similar class. I compare it with the Myvi because my wife has one. By the way, just go and test drive both because you may feel different and have different expectations. However, if you want to choose an EV, don't sell your ICE vehicle just yet. For now, EVs are not the best option for long-distance and reliable transportation. I'm not saying I regret buying an EV, but the charging infrastructure is still developing, and the cost of charging outside is still higher compared to running an ICE vehicle. But for daily commuting and charging at home, it is a good choice.
It really depends on your priorities. The Civic is excellent, and IMO is better to drive fast or slow. But if you’re keen on going EV, the Seal is a great choice for a sedan.
how new is the car, and already the rear door handle is busted?! gives me a lot of confidence abt being stranded out of my car in the middle of the night 😅
The BYD Seal in Cosmos Black colour is the best road car ever! No wonder all those big European luxury car makers are nervous and want 100% tariff imposed - even then the Seal is a better car.

You’re too kind! 😅
You’re the most entertaining Malaysian car reviewer there is! Good job 👍
we’ll try to up the entertainment factor more!
Got my premium Seal last 2 weeks, amazing experience💝
Great to hear!
That introduction is just adorable
Thanks!
Best Malaysian Car reviewer
Fantastic review as always from Jim. Keep it up bro🎉
Watching Jim reviewing cars, certainly give a like...
Much appreciated! 🙏🏼
BYD can now use Tesla charger in Australia, probably same in other countries
The ambient lighting can be either set to one color or turn off completely permanently

I think it’s an Orient Ray II. Glad you’re enjoying your Seal Performance 👍🏼

Trust me this brother will be a funnier car reviewer in near future. Kept it up bro.
Thank you bro! Later on I’ll try making jokes with delayed punchlines 😂
Enjoyed your review👍
The door handles can be popped open manually when required by pushing one side of it in, making the other side rock out.
Very deep dive review 10/10
Glad you think so! 🙏🏼

Its not active adaptive

the model 3's drag coefficient is also 0.219 cd, maybe you saw the pre facelift models drag coefficient
The ambient lighting can be set to fixed or off.
Excellent reviewer ! your review exceeds my expectations !!
Much appreciated!
the rear wheel version can only have a trailer with 750 kg, where the premium can have a 1500 kg trailer, so one more different thing between them
Err.u really have to extend your foot to floor it? I wouldn't have that problem tho😅
This guys face doesn’t match his voice 😂😂😂 love this review! It’s so good
Minor correction, new Model 3 has 0.219cd as well
Good spot 🫡
Seal build quality is better compared to bmw or Mercedes base models...
hows the air con in 40+ temps?
Very convincing. Hey BYD, just take my money!
BYD just opened a big factory in Thailand. Will Malaysian-bound units be made there, and will that result in a price reduction?
This is surely out of date? Here in Dubai the 2025 have home 3 phase charging at 11Kw/H
Unbelieveablefor the tomyam light
Harge battery berape?
Well done!
My only gripe with this car vs Model 3 is that it's less efficient

Lmao… Civic don’t even come close to
In term of performance seal win..but in term of efficiency civic hybrid win. I got both..so i can give you a clear view between these two..
@@mulomantore how about comfort, handling and drive? Not acceleration.

Actually, it would be a good idea if we can customize the horn sound and we can choose the seal ringtone.
That’d be hilarious. Make it happen, BYD!

At most it’s 5 months old, but most likely even newer 🙃
do you need fire insurance?
Guess it couldn’t hurt to get extra coverage 😅
Wouu.. fantastic.. 👍👍
Seal of approval😂
tersembur my teh tarik🤣
I actually love how unpretentious the name is. It's an absolute sleeper.
Arguably ‘Model 3’ is probably an even more plain and nondescript name 😉

Live up to expectation but you don't sound that convince! is that Sarcasm? hahahaha
