My DIY Long Arm Kit is Finished!! And the LS Swap has a Major Issue...

  • Its time to finish up the DIY long arms on my Jeep Wrangler!
In the last video, we installed the incorporated frame caps and skid plate, as well as the front 3 link. Now we are moving over to the rear triangulated upper 4 link! Going with a 4 link rear will allow me to ditch the rear trackbar, and hopefully give this jeep alot more flex, and a better ride both onroad and offroad.
Barnes4WD discount code! Jeepgear . This is a one time use discount code, so make it count! To use the discount, you will need to make a customer account on Barnes4wd.com and then enter the discount code jeepgear at checkout.
After wrapping up the install, the test drive went extremely smooth!! This Barnes DIY kit seems to handle extremely well on the road, and offroad it soaks up the bumps extremely easy. Im excited to test out this kit even further on some challenging offroad rock crawling trails.
We are moving!!! Stay tuned for details on that soon... But in the meantime, i have to figure out this LS Swap lifter noise. During the 5.3 swap, we decided to leave the factory lifters in since they looked good and the cam had no signs of abnormal wear. Sadly, it seems like there is a collapsed lifter due to the tick. It could have been bad, or the new cam could have caused it to go ahead and go out. So ill have to swap those out before we head out to our new house!
    Stay tuned for more videos!

Very impressive guys! Love the long arm set up. If you guys are still chasing the intermittent collapsed lifter issue, I had the same issue and found the oil pump pick up tube o-ring was weak allowing air up to a lifter occasionally on start up. After replacing the o-ring the tick never happened again. Good luck

Just finished everything (finally) on my TJ'S suspension front to back replaced basically all of it. Long arms, new Dana 44 axle assemblies, Falcon shocks, Teraflex speed bumps etc...
Between waiting for parts and working on my Jeep took almost a year. Now it drives like a brand new Jeep.
Next is a 5.3 LT L83 ENGINE SWAP! Going with a newer version 5.3 Can't wait but I have to, mainly because I'm back to waiting for parts again 😫

Replace one quart of oil with one quart of Marvels Mystery Oil and lifter tick should go away. Did that to my 5.3 work van with 220000 miles and lifter tick is completely gone. Common fix for GM. Could be some sticky gunk in the lifter keeping it collapsed. Cheap repair if it cleans the lifters.

I am debating on looking for an older one no idea as to what to look out for my last 4x4 was a ranger which was written off in a accident currently driving a 06 Lexus is350 great car but I dont need all the bells and whistles also I prefer 4x4 or trucks up higher feel safer plus I do want to head back woods again more often which in this vehicle I cannot do
