Cassie, yes! As the others have said, definitely do a DYI class. You might also talk a little bit about where you got your skills separate from what Ben has contributed to your projects. Seems like you can do it all. We know you two have been very busy, but so glad to see your videos coming back out. Keep up the great work!
Thank you Cassie for doing this, it really helps the people who want to build a nice jeep for themselves by themselves without going to a big name shop and potentially having a bad result, keep building, I'll keep watching
Hell ya you guys. This is what I love about you two. Your not afraid to tackle any project that you want to accomplish. I have heard and been told by so many people, oh you can’t do that, your not certified! I have the skills to do this also. I have just battled the confidence always to do these things. I just wanted to say thank you so much, for showing us all, that we can build cool stuff like this too!
swish cheese drill few hundred holes in the skid plate* then hve a sacrificial sheet of rust proof slippery material so u get best of both strength & rust proof high slip. Pick drill bit size that won't break width yet still no loss in strength maybe 3/8"/7/16". Tight enough drill pattern should save more than 3rd the weight.
On a semi triangulated four link, you still get axle shift very minimal but it’s there the only time you don’t get it is when you have a dual triangulated four link
I'm almost 60 so my welding days are over for too many reasons to list. You made great beads, great penetration so the weld is true. My 04 TJ frame was so rusted that it led to the subsequent trade in on my 2020 JT while yours is excellent. I'd have rattle canned the arms red though since my TJ was red🤣
Glad I found this video. I was between this kit with Jonnie Joints, the BDS 4 link or the IronRock Rock Link kit. This is the way I'm going to go for sure. On another note, have you guys typed this all in to one of the long arm calculators to see where your anti squat and anti dive are in relation to stock or what you had before this setup?
I can see in her face she enjoy doing the build so now shes know how we feels I love you guys great couple also i love the new puppy the dog hi o her enjoy the project too
Wow! You made that look so doable for the regular weekend wrencher. I’d love to see a beginning welder video. Also, details on your welder & why you guys chose it. All my welding experience was with an old stick welder back on the farm. This Mig/Tig stuff is Greek to me.
Hey man not sure if you’re still looking at getting better at welding. But if you want to do it right and pretty much be a hobbiest pro laying dimes in about 3 months, I’d recommend looking at your local community college for any welding classes they might have. You’ll have good equipment and most teachers don’t mind if you want to come in a bunch and practice. You’ll get a feel for what you need and don’t need and you’ll really dial in the small but important things like temperature control. Best of luck!!
@@EAGLINWRX i did a ton of welding before this class I’m in but now I’m extremely confident in my welds, I’ll never worry about them while driving like I was before
The first time I saw you doing your own welding I kinda freaked, This chick welds!!! instead of having Ben do it for you that's awesome. So heck yeah I would love to see how you got there. Ben old buddy ya got yourself a gold mine in classy Cassie
welding overhead... sucks. :P got slag in my ear once.. I was just waiting for that sweatshirt to carch fire . :P Good stuff so far, going to have to finish the video later. Very interested to see how it turns out, i want to do something similar to my LJ when I do my D60's.
Ben you missed the perfect opportunity at 8:03 hahahaha. Anyways y'all are a great couple and keep the video pumping. Yes the welder video would be great.
Dont use that upper control arm bushing, itll just bind you up. Use one like the rock crawler joint. All though im gonna use a heim joint with a new tower as well.
Can you provide info on what you did with exhaust? I’m about to pull the trigger on this for my 2000 TJ but want to know ahead of purchase how to deal with exhaust. Thx.
What a coinky dink...we were just having a FedEx roasting session on JLG&G FB group & here you are stating how they lost one of your boxes. FedEx is going to give me an anxiety attack one of these days!
I noticed your TJ already had a lift in place before the install. I already purchased the Barnes kit you have, shocks, 6.5" springs, and a CavFab steering system with track bar. Having a basically stock TJ what do you recommend I start with on this install?
Heck yeah, let's have a beginner welding video. I just picked up my first welder and my hobbyist class was canceled.
Not just another pretty face, you actually get under there and get the job done. You’ve got my respect.
I would love to see more beginner welding. I have a project on my Sierra that requires welding.
What a great Sunday. I wake up to a new Cassie and Ben video. It's been waaaaay to long. So glad you 2 are back.

Beginner welding class? YES Please! That would be awesome to learn more skills to help us do more DIY projects.

Yes to welding videos!! Was just thinking I need to find some classes to take so I can learn.

Great video! I need to talk Barnes 4x4 into developing a DIY kit for the XJ, that’s too easy and looks so fun to build! Jealous! 😜
Check out an older video on Muddybeards channel where he does a DIY long arm on an xj
Yes on the beginner welding session! I’m learning myself and bet I will learn a bunch from you! Cheers from Canada!
Looks good! Cassie & Ben, y'all should look into a F-Body oil pan for that engine!
Jessi Combs had a great line of women welding PPE. I think it was by lincoln
Keen on that beginners welding vid too! Thanks for another great vid.
Lol...speedy talking today hahahaha...welcome back. Thank you for this video. I am plotting the same build for this winter.
