    • @stonieda
      @stonieda 3 месяца назад +32

      @@sedniia483 That's an interesting concept though if they were to use flashbacks as a way to tell the story, they would still need Aragorn to be depicted in them. As far as I've heard, they will probably use CGI and a lot of make-up to make him look like he did when Lord of the Rings was filmed. They used that same strategy for Legolas and Frodo in the hobbit trilogy

They did what they could despite everything and they have incredible movies to show for it. The hobbit wasn't their project. It was dumped by the other director last second and Peter had to attempt to save the slapsticky-mess. Still a great adventure, but a tad too slapsticky and.. silly for my taste. No because realistically he was too young to play Gandalf when he first played him back in the late '90s. Gandalf was the oldest looking of the Istari., and Ian McKellen is younger than Christopher Lee was in the Hobbit. A better question would be is Vigo Mortensen too old to reprise his role as Aragorn since this is a prequel to The Lord of the Rings by several decades. If I remember correctly, Gandalf doesn't have a major part to play in the story anyway, which is mainly centred around Aragorn who does the actual hunting.

    It took Jackson 3 years of planning to do LotR well (which had 1000 pages of superb text to guide it which Jackson eventually used a lot of) and 9 months of prep to badly pad out and ultimately destroy The Hobbit. How on earth is he going to create anything Tolkien-like from just a few paragraphs of text, no matter who is in it? Jackson may appreciate Tolkien but I don't think he really understands him enough to write a script that honors his literary style and mindset; not if his additions to The Hobbit are anything to go by.

    The thing with the character of Gandalf and Ian Mckellen is not only that the actor is really old, unfortunately...
    its also that what fan in his right mind can ever think of any other actor to reprise this mighty performance.
    Its like trying to rewrite a religious book...

      I don’t know. Every interview I’ve seen of Lord of the Rings, I never saw her in any of them. I hope I’m wrong, but I think she might be the only person from the movies to hate them!!! If that’s the case, then we’ll never see her as Galadriel again. Plus I heard she was never paid for her work.

      @@davidmcaninch4714 Eh? She has spoken rather fondly about the filming process of both, The Lord of the Rings & The Hobbit. I think the comment about no-one getting paid wasn't anything super serious. However, given that Galadriel doesn't play that huge of a part in the hunt for Gollum story evet, it remains to be seen whether the character is even considered for the project. Thranduil, however, might very well be!

    People talk about letting other actors play “young versions”
    People need to understand that the Gandalf in this story is the exact same Gandalf as we see in Fellowship.
    This story happens between Gandalf telling to keep the ring safe in baggend and him coming back later.
    I could only see a younger actor playing Aragorn becausewe see Aragorn way later in the film. So it wouldn’t be that weird

    Going to be a lot of work for make-up and special effects to make most of them look as young as they did in FoTR, given the hunt happened during the 17 years Gandalf left the ring with Frodo - and the actors are now all 20+ years older.

    There can only be 1 Gandalf. Sure he is now very old but when he is still healthy he should take the role. Same with Viggo and Orlando. Let us have one last time this legendary trio before they are indeed to old or dead.
