Interesting, the best scene is the one that actually adheres to the books. Just like all the best scenes in the trilogy are the ones that did that. Shame, if they weren’t greedy for a trilogy we could’ve had a pretty good Hobbit movie.

They should’ve added the bit of Aragorn having his tooth chipped off, even though Tolkien probably didn’t write it, it could’ve emphasized that Aragorn is only human too and can still suffer injuries that would be a permanent reminder of his past. Because I don’t think I really saw Aragorn get real wounded beside some blood on his face.

as a Tolkien fan, i think the show is pretty darn good, certainly a worthy production to succeed PJ's LOTR and TH. dont be so taken by haters in comments and Reddit. i know so from experience-- Purists were as noisy 24 years ago as they are now (they just have socmeds so they seem noisier) but they were proven incredibly wrong in the positive impact LOTR had on the general audience. its the same now.

Does anyone remember when Peter Jackson stated that he had so much unseen footage that he would seriously think of compiling all of it together for a 25-year anniversary type of tribute movie? Well, I certainly do, and now that we've close (2001) to the actual first movie's release, if he intended this or not, the time is now. The true LOTR fans would love to see the various scenes and parts of the book PJ had to omit from the original three of that which was filmed!
