      @@jeffreyling6616 it’s an 11 model. Only has baffles in it no filter. Dump the oil out and put it back on or do a CCV reroute. Why should it be replaced? It a gimmick on the early models to replace it. Later models did have a filter but you can put the earlier style on the later models and loose the filter.

    I haven't been able to find the answer...
    The DCR is only warranted by S&S for two years (no matter the miles). With that short warranty, are they expecting failures down the road? And if the DCR fails, will it send metal shrapnel into the fuel system like a CP4? If so, I'd rather stick with my CP4 and a Disaster Prevention Kit.
    The DCR has only been on the market for a short while, and has been installed on relatively few trucks when compared to Ford. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out when many a few hundred thousand have been installed and they start to see some real mileage.

    • @AutomedicGarage
      @AutomedicGarage  2 месяца назад +2

      @@ZonaJim I’m not sure I would say a few cause I’m doing at least 1 a week here now. It puts out better pressure than the cp4 and if you’ll look up a demonstration of a cp3, cp4 and dcr comparison the dcr is the least violent of a cam profile for running the pump with the cp4 being a super aggressive cam. That alone shows me the reliability part. Now take into a account that s&s has shown and run test with water and trash contaminated fuel with no failures and if you have the slightest amount of water with a cp4 it will shred itself apart then I think your reliability answer is right there.

    So the Oem pump lasted this guy 300k miles ??? If so, why go with the aftermarket pump and just use another Oem ? Also, I believe it is recommended to replace this pump every 100k miles, correct? Thanks for this vid and all the great info you add to it..

    • @AutomedicGarage
      @AutomedicGarage  6 месяцев назад +1

      I doubt it was oem pump, truck had the sticker for replacement injectors so just going out on a limb I’d say it’s had a pump and injectors already. I would pick the dcr over the cp4 any day just cause it’s been proven already it handles contamination and water in fuel and the cp4 has proven it can’t handle either.

      @AutomedicGarage I wasn't sure because the DCR pump is CARB approved, so I thought maybe the warranty would remain in place.

      @@AutomedicGarage I'm talking about the OEM aka Ford. They want to buy the whole system plug and play for their assembly line. Not a pump from a, rails from b, lines from c, sensors from d, etc. Then have to have a whole internal engineering team at Ford work to get all the parts to play together. Ford wants to have minimum engineering support requirement for the fuel system and buy it all in on spot to cut down on headache. Ford is getting a package price for the system. The price of that Bosch would give, if they would, for the system minus the pump most likely does not make sense commercially.
