    Roanoke Gaming has a theory that the exploder and wall guardian are necromorphs intended to punish an individual that's defied the markers. That the wall guardian is basically being kept conscious in spite of its body being beyond recognizable.

    • @TheBritishRunner
      @TheBritishRunner  9 месяцев назад +42

      Well I would doubt that to be the case as you need to be dead for the infection to take place and your cells becoming necrotic would certainly kill you. As the old saying goes Death is the Beginning. If you think about it every necromorph has a purpose the guardians for instance guard key specific areas and lure victims to its location but these lures could also mean to alert other nearby necromorphs like an undead alarm system.

      The idea that the Moons are sadistic monsters that bask in the torment of life just adds to their theme, i like to think that, if they were designed as a bio weapon, they ended up despising life (like AM) and they just take pleasure in torturing the living before consuming everything.

    • @TheBritishRunner
      @TheBritishRunner  8 месяцев назад +21

      @xxvaltielxx1789 It's not really the theme of the brethren moons as yes they are sadistic but they also lack empathy for all species including their own not showing emotion that a brother had been brought down or destroyed. The main theme of the markers and moons is their arrogance believing themselves to be invincible and the embodiment of divinty. But I am making a response to the video as to throw my two cents into the theory.

    • @fumothfan9
      @fumothfan9 8 месяцев назад +12

      Also brethern moons say how its all planned. They help evolve species to turn them into a biomass and fuse with planets to form new moons.

      Roanoke Gaming had a theory that 1 in 100 million or something humans have actual psychic abilities. The Ubermorph is made from such a human that then acts as a psychic commander for the Necromorph forces.

    • @christianordonez9231
      @christianordonez9231 3 месяца назад

      Hi, actually there was a lot of discussion about this. The ubermorph was speculated to be a pre-phase of the hivemind. You can see some similarities in the eyes of the head, the ribcage and patterns in the arms and legs similar to the hivemind. Since in DS2 the outbreak happened so fast, it is speculated that the ubermorph did not have enough time to finish evolving to reach it’s final state, unlike the Hivemind that was dormant in the colony of Aegis VII.
      And it sure does look alien but still has some human traits (bipedal, two arms). What I liked about the Hivemind is that is different depending on the species, in DS1 we saw a Hivemind made from humans and in Dead Space 3, we saw a LOT of Hiveminds made from the other alien species, here we can see the differences of how the marker changes every Alien species, but with some different traits.
      I’m surprised nobody in this comment section knew about it, maybe new people discovering dead space from the remake.

    My running theory is that the Stasis Module is not reversed making the Twitcher move faster but rather it's a Stasis field projecting outwards from the Twitcher to make things around it slower.
    This theory is supported by every single encounter with them throughout the series via the death animations on Isaac.

    • @LeaderOfTheLostSouls

      Roanoke Gaming makes greats videos on Dead Space and he’s made some theories that seem to be true or have evidence to them.
      Like the Ubermorph being a proto hive mind.
      There’s a lot of evidence in the games.
      Firstly the face is that of the hive mind with the lights and even it’s shoulders has the little hand things, secondly the body isn’t like the others it isn’t two corpses just smashed together into a mess it’s a combination of two bodies in a clean refined new body covered in black skin, thirdly it seems to command Necromorphs in the area as seen as it leads a charge into Gov and every time it appears it brings enhanced necromorphs to attack you right away.
      Now extra stuff to back it up, in DS2 there’s several slashers with the 5 points in their head similar to the Ubermorph and hive mind, the hunter in DS1 especially the remake is man made but influenced by the marker as we see Mercer puts the needle in the eye almost like Isaac to unlock the knowledge of the moons and it helps create this new form, the regenerators in DS3 were people who were close to many markers just under a Moon exposed so much more then the other they changed in their own into basically improved hunters they were more intact and armored shrugging off a ship’s engine heat, they had 5 points in their head and the art book shows them with hive mind faces like the Ubermorph which shows it’s connected.
      The theory is the people with the 5 points must have a powerful psychic connection due to mirror neutrons and once they find another they would fuse to make the Ubermorph, the Regenerators are the result of candidates who were never allowed to fuse so they grew on their own to be naturally made hunters.
      So it’s pretty interesting tbh

    Honestly…. The hunter has always been the scariest one to me. It’s terrifying to look at, it’s gigantic, you can’t fully kill it, and it stalks you throughout the ship. Hearing it in the vents when I first played it had me shook. And the death animation might be the worst one in the series. Really brutal and gory.

  • @demoliman
    @demoliman 2 месяца назад

    The stalker is the only Necromorph that made me actually quit the game for a little while. You can tell which rooms they spawn in, too. It’s such a terrifying enemy, and the fact that you know there’s always more coming is even worse. What’s pretty cool about them though is that they serve as the best source of free Telekinesis throwables, they have lots of claws and spikes on their bodies so I save ammo

    Yeah good video. I'm only playing the remake right now but the grooves are getting very worn out. Let me think... Scariest... On the way back to the Bridge in the Tram, after one of the missions, I usually play the game late at night, and whilst Isaac's approaching the Bridge, something hit's the tram and stops it. It's very loud and always makes me jump because I always forget it's gonna happen. I don't know what it is but it scares Hell outta me everytime! I'm glad I don't have to fight it.

    Another terrifying fact about the Guardians is that you can encounter one on the Roanoke ship in Dead Space 3, which suggests they have been kept like that for centuries. Additionally, instead of pods, they spawn the Swarm creatures which seems more disturbing if you consider having those inside of their body.

    For me, in no particular order:
    Guardian (the screams and implications of them still being alive)
    Hunter (it's appearance, undeterred predator drive and noises)
    Ubermorph (the mystique, alien appearance and the fact that there's no concrete way to kill it - not to mention trying to run from this thing on Hardcore...)
    Divider (the noises it makes, the way it looks as it saunters towards you and the kill animation)
    Twitcher (it is the very definition of uncanny valley)
    Brethren Moon (cosmic horror)
    Stalker (this is kinda cheating since I actually love these guys, but they are definitely unnerving)
    Pregnant (its imposing frame and large scythes are especially intimidating when it starts running at you)
    The Puker (another uncanny valley thing)
    The Pack (a mass of undead children is scary)
    The Grabber (at least I think that's what they're called? The corpse with the tentacle head from Extraction)
    The Brute (it's surprisingly stealthy)

    Regenerators are imo the scariest. Less being almost unkillable more so origins and tactics. Being slow stalking like nemesis from RE. They are relentless and p much have to be created from special cases.
    You gotta explode ot incinerate every cell at the same time as if even 1 is left it is enough for them to regenerate.
    Also they dont need to eat or absorb they just regenerate naturally.

    I finished the remake last Monday. I have to say that I didn't find any creatures scary. I found the babies with tentacles terribly annoying, as well as those little monsters that came out of the pregnant creatures if you didn't immediately set them on fire. Great game with a creepy atmosphere. What I also like is the story it gave me. A bit unfair when you look at how little ammo and health you get compared to the strength and amount of monsters. If there is a sequel for the PS5, I'm not sure I want to invest time and money in it. I'm more the type who wants to have a blast without frustration and worries about health and ammunition.

    The stalker is the scariest IMO. Announcing their presence with high pitched screeching, but staying hidden. Then constantly darting around from cover to cover, waiting for the moment to make a mad dash at you. And doing it in groups. It builds up a lot of suspense and fear, and puts them in a class of their own, compared to the more direct and aggressive behaviors most of the other necromorohs have.

    If you not include the brethren moon's then the top 2 most scary and disturbing necromorphs are the uber-morph/regenerator and the wall guardian's for different reasons, there is nothing more scary than a enemy you cut down and it always comes back, its like you ain't worth nothing because you put your all into it and it keeps coming back it drains you mentality and breaks you, and the wall guardian is scary because the people are still conscious and awear of what is happening to them and they feel the pain but can't do nothing about it, they can't even "delete" themselves if they wanted because they have no arms or legs
